The business facility was not appropriate since there were mold in the bathroom ceiling and leak in the bathroom sink. There was a cracked in the wall above the TV, there were not hot water for 3 days, the second day there was not chef so no breakfast, the room did not have phone, they claimed it was on repairs for years. The staff was very nice but the above mentioned was unacceptable.

Staff was extremely unfriendly when checking in, was rude at first and then became nice after some time.

The hotel was dark, there was no lighting in the main hallways (making it difficult to locate the elevator) and the lighting in the bedroom was very dim. Staff was unsure how to turn on the hallway light.

The stay was average overall. Internet service was weak (had to stand at the door for a signal), and there was no hot water during our one-night stay. We were charged an additional fee for a third guest, our daughter, which was unexpected, as other hotels usually do not inquire about the number of guests especially if the room sleeps 4. There was an old odor to the corridors and a bit of the room. Washcloths were not initially provided and had to be requested. We turned the pre-historic tv on just to see what was on however the signal was as expected.

On the positive side, it is located very close to the airport, the complimentary shuttle service was prompt and reliable. Breakfast was prepared to order with minimal wait time, and the staff were friendly and courteous. Very quiet hotel.

Overall, the service from the staff was pleasant, but the amenities and room readiness need improvement to match expectations.

For a solo traveler without the need for internet or tv, the experience may be more suitable.

The water in the faucets and toilets were very brown. Even if the water is running for a period of time...it continues to spitting out brown. In addition the coffee maker was not working. When called for a replacement the guest service indicated we would need to wait until the morning for the staff member who could provide a new machine to come in. Also, none jof the numbers in the telephone to call front desk works. The halls were dark. The lighting is poor.

The lady at the front desk was very kind and friendly. We arrived at 8pm and the first room smelled damp and moldy. She switched the room and it was much better. Unfortunately the shower water never got hot and remained luke warm even after running it for a while. Also the water from the sink was brown at times so we used the bottle water in the room to brush our teeth. It was only one night and by the time we saw the issues we were too tired to ask for another room change. I took the airport shuttle and the security guard drove the shuttle. He did not assist me with my bags.

The hotel seemed understaffed and under maintained despite the surface appearance.

The inside is like a haunted house. The room is smelly. The bathroom water was brown n smelly too. The bed had no sheets. The pillows has make up stains. Their towels are stiff n harsh on your skin. I was in the room for 30 minutes. I went looking for another hotel right away. They charged me for one night, but I didn’t care. I just had to leave.

Great one-night layover hotel!

We stayed at the Regent Star overnight for a layover and we had a very pleasant experience. The shuttle to the from the airport was very convenient, the breakfast was good, and they allowed us a late checkout which was wonderful. The bed was a little firmer than we like, but we had a good night of rest. We’d definitely stay here again!

I had a deeply disappointing experience at Regent Star Hotel. From the moment I entered the building, I was hit with a sharp, pungent odor that made it clear the room was not suitable for anyone to stay in. The hotel itself appeared run-down, dirty, and neglected, with a deserted, ghost town-like atmosphere that made me feel uneasy and unsafe.

It was evident that the property had not been maintained properly — everything from the hallways to the lobby looked unclean and lifeless. I made the decision to leave immediately and booked another hotel at my own expense.

I reached out to Expedia for help, expecting some level of accountability or verification, especially since the hotel was listed on their platform. Unfortunately, Expedia was unable to get a response from the hotel and offered no real support, apart from a small credit that doesn’t come close to covering the cost or inconvenience.

I strongly advise others to avoid this hotel and to be cautious when booking through Expedia, as there appears to be little quality control or customer protection when things go wrong.

My stay at Regent Star Hotel was okay not great, but not terrible either. When I first arrived, I expected a bit more based on what I’d seen or heard beforehand. The hotel wasn’t bad overall, but it didn’t exactly wow me either.

The space could use a few upgrades or renovations to freshen things up a bit. That said, it served its purpose for my stay, and I didn’t have any major issues. If you’re looking for a basic, no-frills place to stay near the airport, it’s decent. Just don’t go in expecting luxury.

The building itself was large, basically empty, cold and uninviting. The room was comfortable enough, but lacked certain basic amenities:
- two large towels and a mat for the floor were the only towels provided, no small towels or face cloths
- no stand that a suitcase could be placed on, necessitating use of the bed for that purpose
- the showerhead was plced directly over the drain, thus meaning I had to stand directly on the drain or slightly to the side where there were a couple of chucks of grout stuck to the floor
- the two women at the front desk were pleasant and quite helpful, however, the two shuttle drivers were morose and uncommunicative.
Overall, my experience was less than expected. I highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express. Instead It's a bit farther from the airport but a world away in terms of facilities, amenities, and service. Plus the breakfast is far superior.

The property itself is possibly 5/10. Close and conveniently located to the airport.
The towels smelled like wet used towels just folded and left to dry. It left an unsettling lingering smell on my skin after using. The rooms could do with a bit of charm to elevate the experience at the price point they are listed for. The reception staff was very pleasant and helpful though.

A hide away haven

It's a good run to place.. as being close to Malls with shuttle service, surrounded with places to eat..near airport for youe escape back home.. Hotel service,anything you're not comfortable with they comply to improve ... that part being said it's a comfortable stay... drawbacks you're far from the city, too far for shuttle service. Personally I will revist. See,I do rent a car. All in all for comfort,security and a quiet stay you're home...

This place needs to get some upgrade. The room smells dirty. The carpet was dirty in the room. The hot water was sending out brown water for all the days. The lights are dull. The lights by the elevator is not working. The shuttle bus needs to be upgraded. The door could not open on one day i used it. The hot water was not working the last day i was there . The only reason i have continued my stay. It’s because it was the only place that was close to where i was visiting. . If I had known better. I was not going to stay there. It’s disgusting.

3 minutes from terminal, 30 minutes to Port of Spain.

None of the phone numbers on the website were working numbers. At the front desk I was given 1 (868) 468.8116 which did work.

In-room coffee pods were \"out of stock\"

Shampoo dispenser in shower was empty.

No wash cloth was available

Flatware on tables was wrapped with same lo-budget paper napkins used on tables.

Bar was only open during my 3-night visit; beverages were served in dining room.

Food was good at hotel. Several item on menu were not available during my stay.

\"Doubles\" at the terminal outside food court were incredibly good, and the Owner was very helpful trying to call hotel which didn't work for her either.

I would stay again if working at the airport, but not for a holiday visit.

Very dated. Beds are like concrete. Bathrooms are very dated, and the faucet on the sink is strangely placed in the upper right corner, so water goes off the side. The sheets are probably a decade old or older - torn and stained. The location and people working here are the only plus. Would I stay again, only if absolutely no other location is available... like it was this time. The owner obviously does not care about this property.

The maintenance did nothing to fix it when notified and said it was just filling slowly and didn’t care to do anything about it and would not give us another room. Center of the hotel had a feature pond which was full of greenish water that definitely had not been cleaned in a while. Would not stay here again

This hotel is a total dump. The hotel misrepresents themselves on the internet. We got there and were shocked at the terrible room they tried to give us. We stayed in the room for about five minutes trying to decide what to do. In those five minutes we took one tag off a suitcase and put in the trash. The hotel supervisor then told us that we had to pay for the five minute stay in the room because we put one luggage tag in the trash. We tried to get a refund for the two night stay but they said NO because we put a luggage tag in the trash and because we turned down a second room they showed us. The second room was larger but just as dumpy as the first. We found a good place to stay with our phone and got a taxi to it. The Regent Star was a total waist of over $300. Do not believe anything they tell you or the impression they give on the internet. Do not stay here.

Upon arrival after 1am in the morning. The security guard, did not budge at the gate to see if I was a guest and needed to enter the premises. I had to come out of my car to ask if this was the entrance. The staff did an adequate job, switching my rooms from what they originally assigned, to a two bedroom which I requested. They offered me a ground floor unit which was convenient for my elderly mom. However, they checked the room and said it was ok, however, after setteling in and getting ready for a bath there was no towels, rags, or hand cloth. I went to the front desk and she proceeded to hand me 1 hand towel. I asked for a full set, for both guest. She said she can only give me one at the moment, but someone will bring another one. Non ever came and I shared this via checkout the next day. Also, the bathroom appeared incomplete. The shower either needed a door, or a separation to not allow water from the standing shower to spill over into the toilet and vanity area. It was a mess and was worried that I would have slipped... and no towels to step on the floor to wipe up the water. Breakfast was good.

Was concerned because there were very mixed reviews. I was just overnighting in Trinidad and had an early flight. Wanted a hotel close to the airport, walking distance if possible. Couldn’t book on the hotel website and tried calling. The person at the other end of the phone said “I can’t hear you, if you are there call me on my cellular “ and have a number. I tried that but didn’t get through. It was not on some of the hotel booking websites but was on Expedia so booked it there.
Walked from the terminal, about 10 mins alone the side of a dual carriagway and around a busy roundabout. Easy walk but a little dangerous without footpaths in some places.
Hotel looked grood , initially staff at reception were not particularly welcoming but efficient. Room was great , clean and modern. Had dinner in the restaurant food good, staff not friendly initially but warmed up a bit..
Overall a good place for an overnight stay with an early flight.

It's proximity to the Piarco International Airport. There was a burnt smell in the elevator similar to that of cigarettes, and that wasn't pleasant, especially with kids. Other than that, everything else was okay. I would recommend they fix that asap.

Firstly I spent half hour at the airport trying to find a shuttle that was advertised as a service provided but it did not exist ( I had to pay for my own taxi from and to the airport ) . They also advertise breakfast included but I had to pay for breakfast to eat . There was hair all over the bathroom from previous guest and the toilet seat didn’t look like it had been cleaned and this made my little one night stay very unpleasant. Not to mention the glass racks and bottle trays outside my bedroom window . Only thing good about this property is that you can literally walk to and from the airport if you don’t have 4 bags like me

This hotel is a scam. They charge $200 for a motel standard. They have hotrl shuttle, but do not tell you about it. I ordered a wakeup csll for an early flight, they never called. They had a coffe maker in the room, but no coffee pods to go with it. If you pay more than $75 to stay here, you have been scammed as me.

The staff was not helpful in providing any details about the surrounding area & alternative places to dine. The bartenders had no idea how to make the drinks on the cocktail list so we decided not to risk trying the dining room for dinner. The room was musty, the hotel is under construction although parts of it are clearly weathered, the pool is defunct. Terrible experience all around.

Proximity to airport is excellent for an early flight. Room and common areas are basic & clean but far from welcoming or luxurious. Bed was not great: no mattress pad, sheets were thin & scratchy, barely a blanket and lumpy pillows. Poor bathroom lighting and toilet made loud noises all night. Air conditioning did work well & meal from restaurant ordered just before closing was good, despite them refusing to allow us to eat it in the dining area 10 minutes before closing (they prepared it To Go) Front desk staff person was abrupt almost to the point of rudeness and failed to make our wakeup call at 3:15AM, which could have been a disaster for our early flight, had I not made a backup alarm. She refused to print a receipt at checkout or even show any bill details. Airport shuttle was excellent, prompt and the driver was courteous and helpful. I would probably try the US chain nearby next time, but it’s okay for a quick overnight.
