This is my favorite hotel in the area for a few reasons. First, you can't even get into the building without you hotel key so it's very secure. The rooms are HUGE, especially the rooms with two beds.
When they clean the rooms they let them air out. They open the outside windows and let the air blow through from \"open to the sky\" internal courtyard.
The rooms smell clean air fresh. Not stale like most hotel room.

The Airport Inn is one of those hidden secrets. It has covered free parking that is monitored with cameras. I've stayed at this hotel before for business. This time a quick weekend trip to visit family. It's exactly what I was looking for: free parking, check in is 12 noon, small hotel for easy in and out, no fuss check in, and the rooms were clean. Coming from the East Coast, I take early flights that get me to SFO in the morning. Most all hotels near the airport charge for parking and check in starts at 3pm. I don't have the added inconvenience of asking for an early check in.

As many of the other reviews described, this is a basic hotel with no bells and whistles, but it is kept EXTREMELY CLEAN, and the owners are extremely kind and helpful. If you're looking for a basic but reliable and CLEAN hotel near SFO this is absolutely your best choice. 10-15 minute walk to Caltrain and to great restaurants on Grand Ave.

Close enough to SFO (easy bus ride) and near downtown South San Francisco, so plenty of food options. Rooms are only accessible by a key card-activated elevator, so it felt safe. Both floors have lovely courtyard seating areas and the room was clean and huge. Staff was accommodating and let us check in early. The place is dated but who cares at this price point, given all the other positives.
