The second I booked this property few months in advance, I realized I need the date was off by a month by mistake. The property ignored more than 10 requests to adjust the date even though this was within the same hour of booking. Very unprofessional and unsupportive team. A big big disappointment.

It was my 10th anniversary. My room was upgraded with beautiful view top floor, very cute they had me balloons and rose petals. The hotel is so reachable to food shops transportation, friendly manner of staff is also a bonus. Only thing I would say the air con can be better and also the fridge can also be better.
Will stay again and have already recommended.

Horrible experience! My room was overall terrible and outdated and to add to that it was literally as hot at a sauna. When I asked the staff about AC they replied that it’s winter and they turn off the AC which lead to an unbearable temperature in my room I actually couldn’t sleep at all. I booked the place for 3 days and after the first night I asked to cut the stay short and to refund me the other two days the they refused. Not only did they refuse but they refused with extreme attitude and rudeness. This place is horrible STAY AWAY.

Overall the area was prime, everything was walking distance, safe area. The front manager was very nice.

Although there was no iron in the room, it always had to be requested.

Also, cars are usually not allowed to come in front of the hotel because of construction but overall it’s a good hotel to stay in, especially because of the area and everything is walking distance. You have to walk 5-10 minutes to get a taxi, but the hotel can also arrange one.

One of the best things they had was the weight machine that you can weight your luggage.

Breakfast was very good.

Close to the tram line that can take you to most tourist areas.

Yes the hotel isnt 5star but it ticked the boxes. Clean and functional
Breakfast is turkish style but its got the basics.
I would recommend this hotel for a holiday in istanbul.

it stank on the first day we checked in and one of the staff members ‘cleaned’ it ( sprayed perfume) and the smell got worse each day to the point we were almost vomiting - we told the staff everyday. on the third night we told a different staff member and he blamed us for the smell although it was from the gutter & there when we opened the door for the first time … very rude and refused to do anything about it or accept that it’s from their drains - until we made him come to the room and he finally accepted it

Service Disappointing

Room was dirty. I requested that room be cleaned out properly because there was dirt and dust visible. When i returned it was still not cleaned out. Staff were extremely rude to me. Especially the manager at the front desk who worked morning shifts. They gave me incorrect room when i arrived and insisted its not their fault. After contacting hotels.com they changed room but they were arrogant and rude about it. Very disappointing. Only good thing is location of hotel.

The hotel is accessible to almost everything. Easy to and from IST airport via HavaIst. The only issue we had was the wifi inconsistency. Otherwise, hotel is overall all recommended to everyone. Happy to come back again to the same hotel.

Pros: good distance from grand bazaar, blue mosque, etc.

Cons: firstly the staff are not very helpful they don’t speak in a professional manner I found myself repeating a lot of things just to get a conversation or my question answered .
Secondly,the breakfast is not as they make it out, there is not a variety of selection for breakfast no tea or coffee either, only Turkish teas and coffees available.
Thirdly: there are still works going on in the hotel which is not mentioned when booking so there is a lot of disturbance with hammering noises early in the morning.
Fourthly: it took 2 whole days for someone to come and fix the shower in our room we booked a superior room which was newly furnished which was lovely but it would’ve been nice to have things in working order.
Fifthly: room service was not up to standard, on arrival we didn’t have kettles hangers in cupboards, cupboards were dirty so coats got dusty, once the kettle did arrive cups were left dirty everyday not changed over or rinsed, although we asked them to make our room up in the 6 nights that we were there the bedsheets and covers were not changed. Room service did not even supply or put toilet paper when it had run out calls had to be made and we had to wait a few hours just for toilet paper.

Overalll would I go to Istanbul again? Yes
Would I visit this hotel again? No...i suggest they improve greatly as the picture that they have displayed is very deceiving.

Only thing good with this property is that vey good location one morning I asked for omelette and they said we charged 5 liras and my wife asked for orange which was finished in fruit ball in breakfast and they said if you want orange we charged 5 liras breakfast was very rubbish i paid price was 70 pounds per night it wasn’t cheap and no heating we had to keep asking everyday morning and evening to turn heating on for my room because we had baby with us I would never booked this hotel again and probably complaining to Expedia about my experience and I had to wait 45 minutes to 1 hours after arriving in the afternoon 3.30. To checking with four children and they said it’s normal here

Location is great beside the metro station, grand bazar and in center of old city.

Staff not so welcoming. Rooms relatively small for a 4 star hotel. There was renovation in the hotel at the time of our stay so noises were terrible during the day. Dryer wasnt working well and we couldn’t use the safe also it wasn’t working fine.

The guy on the reception is rude and it seem there is a new management. The previous lady Yasmine was most better. Also the electricity went off and were not able to ckeck in until 6 in the evening. My daughter was with me she cannot walk as she has an operation in her back and they did not take this into consideration she stayed sitting at the lobby for more than six four hours which make her feel very tired and the trip was terrible

let me begin by the positive stuff :
-very good location
-excellent staff
-big and nice building , good elevator , nice lobby.

negative stuff: rooms need lot of repairs:
-safe was broken
-heater not working in bathroom
-lamp in bathroom need to be changed
-no napkin in the room
-no Slippers
-cups and nescafe and tea and water are free for the first day only
- breakfast is average , eggs always cold,no honey , good cheese

The only positive thing was the location, it's access to public transport and resources.

Hotel staff appeared friendly but generally were slow to respond to basic requests if they responded at all.

The shower was dirty. The breakfast menu didn't change much. The air conditioning hardly worked.

Grand Bazaar Hotel

This was my second stay at the Beyaz Saray. I had a 5 day stay in 2010 and then again November 2015. I had a triple room which contained 3 twin size beds, the room was a decent size and was cleaned every day. The beds were comfy. My only conplaint was that the room was extremely hot and nothing we did brought down the temperature. The air conditioner had been turned off for the season. The hotel staff was congenial and tried hard to meet our requests. The hotel is very conveniently located across the street from the Grand Bazaar and was within walking distance of all major sites. The breakfast was adequate and there is a small cafe located within the hotel that served salads, sandwiches, etc. All in all, I would say for the price this hotel is a good choice. I would recommend it.

This is a good place to stay at a reasonable price. I only have a few minor complaints. There was not a chair or table in the room and that makes it difficult to use a laptop. Also, the air conditioning didn't quite cool off the room enough for me but I am a person who is almost always hot so most people would find it adequate.
The staff is friendly and helpful, though a few don't speak English well. All the reception desk personnel spoke excellent English.
The restaurant was good and the staff friendly.

The only thing that is not really good is that the breakfast at 2 am that we have to have it because we are fasting, it is Holly Ramadan, the breaks at was only few cucumbers, black olive. It was not suitable for us.

I stayed at this hotel June 2015. I was traveling alone and I was fully satisfied with my stay. The hotel had two entrances and one is on the main street which makes it easy to find. The location is also great and very convenient as it's next to the tram station that takes you to the main tourist sites.
I had asked to take a room on a high floor and has a city view but I was given one that over looks inner yard on the first floor. I honestly was satisfied with it as it's was quite and I didn't hear the street noise.
This hotel offers a very good breakfast that gives you a good start for the day and I always had preferred to sit on the patio that over looks the main street and Cami.The staff were very friendly and helpful and rooms are clean. I would rate this stay as excellent and would recommend others to stay there.

Hotel is located very close to grand bazzar and beyazit tram station. At night alot of roadside stalls selling cheap items. Exchange rate at the neighbourhood seems better than at sultanahmet area. Hotel room was clean and comfortable. Hotel staff help us keep our bags while we are away on a 3d2n tour to Ephsus. Hotel staff also packed for us breakfast as we had to leave at 5am.

Nice hotel with one bad staffer

Location is great. Room was fine. I had one staff treat me terribly. He accused me of lying to him about what was included in my room rate. Which I had not. He did not do this once, but three times. Once on the phone and twice chasing me as I was leaving the hotel for the day. He was incredibly rude to me, especially since I had asked for nothing but clarification. Was not asking for anything to be given to me. But I think he is just one bad egg. The rest of the staff were friendly and helpful. Avoid this one guy and you will have a nice stay. Encounter him and it will ruin your stay.

Great Place to stay!!!

Absolute great hotel to stay at , six (6) nights!!!! I would stay here again without hesitation. The hotel is on top of a steep road, but quite honestly, we never needed to go down there very much. I originally came across this hotel using Hotels.com and there were only three reviews. I took a chance and I must say it paid off really well. The hotel is right across from the Beyaz Mosque, hence the name. Two (2) minute walk to the tram to take you to any of the places within old and new Istanbul. The Grand Bazaar is a five (5) minute walk, the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia is a 15 minute walk, very easy as we did it. The room was really good as it as a king. The hotel staff were REALLY nice and attentive to all our needs. Everyone was very friendly. No issues with any amenities, A/C was PERFECT! Ask the hotel staff for great restaurants and also for any tour packages. The tour packages pick you up from the hotel. I scouted the area around the hotel as the bar fridge in your room, was expensive. There is a small convenience store next door, literally next door, and I supplied on any water or pop or chips, etc..a two (2) minute walk further down the steep road there was a slightly bigger convenience store with fresh fruit. I would stay here again!!! Only issue was one of the breakfast days there was no scrambled eggs which was disappointing. I asked for scrambled, but they did not accommodate on that day.

1st day A/C was not working, bathrooms are not clean, you can feel the desert when water shortage for 2 days. I regret a lot that I spent a huge amount on such hotel. I wanted to call you to change the hotel but everyday I return very tired to the hotel.

The hotel wasn't difficult to find in general because it has a very huge banner/name on a building along the main street, but our cab driver took around 10 minutes to find it - there is a very shabby hotel/hostel a block away with the same name. We were so relieved when we were able to locate the 'right' Beyaz Saray. The room was alright - it isn't big but the bed is comfortable enough. Toilet is clean and great shower head! it has all the basic amenities. However, we were less impressed with the staff. Staff members were generally quite cold and indifferent, as compared with the other Turkish people we have come across. The male manager was courteous but still quite cold. Not to mention there is one particular staff, a more mature lady with long hair, who told another attendant quite bluntly in front of our face that 'they did not order a room with free breakfast' twice, with 'no, no free breakfast for you'. I would appreciate it if her English wasn't good and she struggled to communicate the idea to us, but the thing is she looked as if she didn't really care about us standing in front of her and she just wanted to make sure the other concierge attendant hear what she say - that we didn't pay for breakfast. Great location btw - we didn't take any transportation to get to the Blue Mosque, Haghia Sophia, or Topkapi Palace. The female concierge attendant with short hair was very diligent though young-looking. She was very smart and her English is very good.

Das Zimmer war geräumig und sauber. Sehr zentral gelegen. Direkt vor dem Hotel ist die S Bahn Station. Ca. 200 m bis zum Großen Basar. Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Bin schon das zweite Mal in diesem Hotel. Sie renovieren momentan viele Zimmer neu. Würde es jedem empfehlen...
