Often photos of a destination do not tell the \"whole story.\" These accomodations were even more stunning than the photos make it out to be. Staff are incredibly attentive to guest needs. The resort has supplies for day trips to the beach, saving the guest from having to pre plan these items, beach bags, big floppy sun hats, fins, masks, snorkels, chairs, umbrellas, beach towels etc. The staff, Rose in particular offered spectacular suggestions for dining and sight seeing. We spent mornings having coffee and watching the wildlife. After long days out and about relaxing in the pool and hot tub was wonderful. There was not a single issue we encountered and this resort was an excellent choice.

The room was spotless, Rosa was an absolute pleasure to work with all my needs wet met. I keeper booked taxi to and from location, provided transport to dinner one day. I will return yearly. If you are looking for a nice place to getaway and relax this is the best place for exactly that, in my opinion. Everything was provided from toiletries to sunscreen and bug spray. Beach chairs, snorkel equipment, bikes, any so much more!

It was a quick getaway but had such a relaxing time. I previously stayed at the Ritz, which was great of course, but it this place was more homely and the staff was great! I didn’t really do much else but hang around Shangri-La and I was okay with that! I had the pool and also had food delivered. Also, I loved seeing the chickens roaming around in which you wouldn’t see this at a resort. I will definitely stay again!

Impeccable cleanliness and very attentive staff! If you plan on going to Cayman and need a location to set out from each day to visit beaches, trails and other sights I would highly recommend. The shared pool and hot tub area was quiet and clean with hammocks and loungers available without the crowds or bugs. I can't say enough about the warmth of the hostess. We made a mistake with our safe and she carried a new one to our room within a couple minutes! We did not do a full breakfast each morning but bagels and bread and coffee were still provided. Fantastic stay, thank you Rose!

Shangri-La Bed and Breakfast is a great property! Lush landscaping and waterfront property with a pool and hot tub. Rose, the innkeeper, was amazing and friendly. She inquired after us constantly and was so accommodating. The neighborhood seems mixed development, some less well maintained properties and apartments mixed in with Shangri-La. As we drove in, we wondered if we were in the right place. You are further away from the action on the westside of Grand Cayman so be sure to rent a car. There is a resort fee and if you wish a full breakfast that’s extra, otherwise Rose sets out coffee and pastries. I would definitely recommend.

Close enough to the main attractions/beach without being in the middle of everything. Grounds are well kept. The best little getaway! If we ever return to Grand Cayman, we will be returning to Shangri-La.

The only negative feedback is that it is located behind a couple of local houses which could be cleaned up but the B&B property was beautiful.

This place is a quiet oasis from the busy towns. Staff are so nice and accommodating, there's even swimming gear you can use when you go to the beach, free of charge. For additomal fees, they serve breakfast that is delicious! Rose is the nicest lady and i will definitely come back again, and would recommend to friends!

Coming back and having everything organized was such a gift and an extra mile. New beach towels every time we used them. Full kitchen in the common area if you don't feel like eating out. Outdoor patio with very effective netting to enjoy the fountain and lake, but not the mosquitoes. The hot tub is not a difficult to use or access gimmick of the listing, it is very easy and amazing to use. We had a hot water issue which the host fixed within 24 hours. Gorgeous landscaping and quaint, if a bit cozy, rooms. However, the property is priced accordingly. Tukka restaurant is nearby which is great for dinner. Instant access to the highway to get to 7 mile beach quickly. The mattress in the Bougainvillea room runs a bit firm; extra pillows were given upon request.

Located in a quiet part of the island, Shangri-La is best accessible by car. Although no one was there to meet us, we had email instructions on how to get into our room which itself turned out to be delightful. It was clean with A/C and a ceiling fan to complement the comfort of the stay. A relaxed but cheerful island attitude pervaded the breakfast layout which is best taken on the porch with a view of the inlet within West Bay. Water sport equipment is available for use by guests if so desired along with a chic swimming pool located adjacent to the main house. A great place for a couples' week or weekend and a nice haven of tranquility to return to, after visiting other Grand Cayman Island attractions.

I liked the property - it was clean and tidy and was welcoming. We enjoyed breakfast on a couple of occasions, which was delicious. The location is a little far from shops (about a 10-15 minute walk) and about a mile from the closest beach, so a car would be useful. We borrowed bikes which was great.
The only thing which has really disappointed me is the lack of aftercare they have shown. I contacted the Shangri-La about our own flippers which we mistakenly left with the rest of their snorkelling equipment. After 6 emails, we have still had no reply from them which I'm really surprised and disappointed about.
This is not to say we didn't enjoy our time there, but it has left a bitter aftertaste that they have been so unhelpful since leaving.

Shangri-La is a great place to stay in Grand Cayman island. We really like our room and property around the house. Very quiet and beautiful area and only few minutes drive to Seven Mile beach. The property is also right off the Easterly highway... very convenient to get to get to 7 mile or Georgetown with little traffic. The rooms were nice and clean. If you want to get away from the activity on 7 mile, this is a good alternative.

This was a very nice bed and breakfast in a very good location approximately 10 minutes away from the seven mile beech craziness. While there is a view of a lagoon, this B&B is not on the beech. There is a pool and hot tub, but they are quite small (the picture looks larger) but the backyard area is very relaxing and quiet. The staff is very friendly and although we didn't have the breakfasts, they looked great and we heard lots of positive comments. The rooms were very clean with lots of closets and storage. Everything you will need is in your room, or a quick walk to the kitchen area. The location is near the highway, about 20 minutes from downtown Georgetown, 5 minutes from a grocery store, very near to some great restaurants and about 10 minutes from the nearest ocean beech. We would certainly consider staying there again.

If renting a car this property is perfect for you! 5 min drive to nice public beach area ( top of seven mile beach). Georgetown 10 min away driving. You can borrow chairs for the beach. Internet worked great, no issues, even outside by the pool. Room and bathroom was large, comfy bed, TV similar to Direct TV. American style outlets so we didn’t have to bring converters. 2 hammocks, nice quiet screened in porch and outside area by small lake to relax in the morning or after a long day out and about. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others! Nice staff, Dean had great recommendations. Only thing I would suggest is sending out details on how to check in further in advance. Thanks for a great stay!!

Bad check-in experience. First the property had no sign on it, so we weren't sure we were at the right location. There is no one in the main inn even during check-in times. Called the innkeeper but no one answered the phone. Another guest finally told us where the innkeeper stayed on the property and we knocked on the door and finally found her to check-in. Would suggest calling ahead and making an appointment with the Innkeeper for your check-in time. Innkeeper spoke broken English and was not able to give us recommendations on things to see & do. If we knew what we wanted to do, she could show us the location on a map.

Lovely B&B with easy access to Cemetery Beach
We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed meeting international guests for breakfast on the patio, lovely back garden with view on a large pond, with iguanas lounging around. Great breakfast. Dean let us borrow a couple of bikes so that we could explore the west bay, only 10 min bike ride or 30 min walk to the beach. Most guests had cars but we loved using the push bikes. We loved the location as it allowed us to get a feel for the real Grand Cayman, away from the large hotels and crowded beaches. Cemetery Beach is a great snorkelling spot accessible within a 5-10 min swim, shade on the beach available too.

After a week on Seven Mile Beach, we moved to the Shangri-La for the last few nights of our trip. It was so nice to get away from the hustle and bustle and relax at this adorable B&B. Dean is a fantastic host. We loved our room and the peaceful setting. The breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed getting to know the other guests. I would definitely recommend a rental car to get around since this is in a less walk-able area. Amazing beaches and restaurants are only a 5-7 minute drive. We would definitely spend more of our trip here next time!
