We love this hotel. However, the first building we stayed in had water pressure problems. One evening, all water faucets had no water. And the second night the kitchen and bath faucet had water while the shower water dried up while in it. Management offered both times to change rooms. We took them up on the offer the second night and we’re pleased as the other building had no problems with water pressure. This was the second year in a row staying at the hotel and we will stay there again as long as the water pressure problems are resolved.

The all new suites are immaculate! I have come here for years but now you have really stepped up your game. Great rooms, great location, and best beach on the island at the sister propertu.

The staff maintain a SPOTLESS room, the prices are the best on the island for comparable hotels, the Grill was being updated so we missed the food (excellent and reasonably priced)—that was the only minus of the trip.

Oh!
And the rooms have all been updated AND you still have access to all the amenities of the Westin across the street; beach, spa, restaurants). We’ve stayed at both the Westin and SS over the years—SS is now our hands-down preferred stay on the island.

If this sounds effusive, it’s because on the (admittedly rare) ocasiona I leave a negative review, it has earned every word. The same when a place is fabulous. This one is.

Sunshine Suites is our go to Cayman spot. They have recently renovated and it looks great. Only downside this trip was the Sunshine Grill was closed for renovations (but it will be open later this spring). Access to beach through it's sister property adds tremendous value.

This is a remodeled Motel. And the photos on Hotels.com don't match the place. They've repainted it from the charming Yellow to something that looks like a cheap motel. The pool area pictures don't match reality either. The rooms ARE nice, they're remodeled and functional. And you DO have access to the Westin across the street.

We had a room with livingroom, and stove top. It was wonderful. The staff was very nice, helpful, and housekeeping took care of us daily with spotless rooms. Im very picky when it comes to cleanliness, and it was perfect. Walking distance to the westin resort with all the amenities available to us was an added value. We were able to use the pool at the sunshine suites which was nice and quiet. If i were to come back to Grand Cayman i would 100% stay here again. Great experience!! Thank you sunshine suites!

Took 30 minutes to check in. No one in front of me. Loud loud loud. Restaurant not open. I am disabled and the referent issue was addressed you can walk across to the Westin for food!!!?? The rooms are not ADA compliant. Pillows are terrible. Never again.

The room was nicely renovated. The kitchenette had silverware, bowls, and dishes. All very nice, organized, and what you would need to eat breakfast or lunch in the room. The king room was not huge but fine for two ppl since we didn't spend much time in the room anyway. The room was very clean, check-in was super easy, and they accommodated us with a 1 pm check-out. Great to be able to walk to all the restaurants on Seven Mile Beach.

When the restaurant reopens you will have convenient access to a great place to eat!

Sunshine is the best kept secret of Grand Cayman. Refurbished room with kitchenette was awesome. Friendly staff and clean comfy room - bed a little stiff for my taste but bedding very nice. Laundry was not available yet but staff did give us a drying rack for beach clothes. Ability to use seven mile beach and amenities at the Westin was a game-changer!! We will be back!

This was our third time staying at Sunshine Suites. The hotel is currently being remodeled. We were excited to get to stay in a newly updated, clean, and quiet room. However, we were so sad the Sunshine Grill was not open because their food is absolutely delicious, especially their fish tacos, and hope it will be open the next time we return. The grill is truly a gem at Sunshine.

I loved almost everything about this property. It was renovated, the AC worked very well and they had ceiling fans in both the living area and bedroom. I was upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite upon arrival. It was updated and very modern. The restaurant and the pool were closed upon arrival but we were allowed to use the pool and beach chairs at the Westin across the street -- less than a 10 minute walk depending on what side of the resort you stayed on. The first we were given on the 1st floor did not have hot water so we were moved to the 2nd floor where the water was the perfect temperature. The beds were the only downside, they were so HARD, not firm, just hard. Luckily I was tired enough to fall asleep.
Again the beach is right across the street and The Eats Cafe/Legendz Bar is also within a short walking distance. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Overall, if I ever come back, I'll be staying here.

We had a wonderful stay at Sunshine Suites. The new renovated rooms were nicely done and everything was updated and clean. I can’t wait to see what it will look like when the rest of the renovations are complete (other buildings, the pool and the grill were closed for renovations during our stay). The ladies at the front desk were fantastic and helpful during our stay. Housekeeping came by every day. We enjoyed the perks of the Westin (pool, grill and beach). The beach was less than a 10 minute walk.

We were not bothered by the ongoing construction since we weren’t in our room during the day. We found the air conditioning helps drown out the sound of the roosters in the early AM.

Odor in the Room

When we walked in the room there was a odor. The linens on the bed were damp from the humidity. The ac cooled the room but did not remove the humidity. The carpeting needs cleaned. I had to use an inhaler because of dust or mold. I found an N95 mask in my bags and wore it while sleeping.
Upon check out, I was comped the resort fee. I think in view of the experience, my room charge should have been comped also.
I have stayed at other hotels on the island over the past 25+ years and have never had such a bad experience.

We were there last week for six nights. House keeping cleaned the room daily and did an excellent job, was nice that they have coin laundry on site.

They are just starting to upgrade the entire property, and because of this suites we’re in need of updating. When the renovations are complete it will be really nice.

We used the Weston spa for the steam room an showers. That was excellent.

Sunshine Suites is an amazing family oriented property!
We have been visiting regularly for the last 10 years and always enjoy our stay. The staff is friendly and top notch.
The facility is clean and manicured and the Sunshine Grill is always a great option for dining.
A final perk is their access agreement with the Westin Resort on 7 mile beach across the street. Wonderful way to enjoy the most beautiful Caribbean beach!

This is the sister hotel to the Westin. It's not cheap at all but much lower than staying at the Westin and you get access to all of their incredible amenities. The rooms are a bit dated, but clean and comfortable. They are currently renovating, but they are doing it the right way, a section at a time. In fact this was one of the quietest hotels that I have ever stayed at. Except for the rossters, but they're all overthe island! Very friendly staff! We'll be back next year for sure. Great location!

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed in the rooms. They are very outdated and there is a musty smell throughout the room which no matter what they spray it’s still there. The carpets should be torn up and room tiled especially since cayman can be humid and there is only wall unit acs so not a great scenario. There is no ac in the bathroom. The furniture is way too big for the small rooms.

With that said, being able to use the Westin property is awesome.

If the rooms were renovated and there was central ac it would be a great hotel.

Easy to access everywhere

We stay for 6 days. Sunshine Suites Resort is very good place to access like beach, super market, restaurant, etc.
There is small kitchen in the room so we can cook and eat after buying food at near super market (Cos U or Spotlight).
Of cause, we can use Westin’s amenity like beach and pool. It was amazing experience for us enjoying beach at Westin.

We were given a room on the second floor and the elevator was broken and we had ver heavy suitcases. We got to sympathy when we went back to ask for a first floor room. The elevator was still not working the next morning at check-out. This hotel is very tired, everything is old and there aren’t many electrical outlets to charge our technology. We arrive from the airport around 9:15 p.m. and the bar and restaurants were already closed. We never found dish clothes so we had to use bath towels to clean and dry the dishes. On the positive side they have a full fridge with a freezer (old ice), nice landscaping and the bed was comfortable. I would not recommend this place.

The hotel is located across the street from the Westin, which is on the beach and has a lot of amenities. The room was clean and decently appointed, the bed was comfy. As our visit was during off season, there were not too many guests around so the pool area was quiet. The stuff was nice and accommodating.

Great stay for a solo traveler

This is my second stay at Sunshine Suites, in Cayman as a solo traveler for diving. The location is truly perfect. A short walk to many different types of restaurants, very safe, and having access to the Westin across the street is such a great perk and convenience. Hotel is clean and while rooms are a little dated, they are in the process of renovating the entire hotel. Restaurant on site has very good food, friendly and attentive people all around. This place is a gem and I will be back

Been here nine times, clean, convenient to many restaurants ( of course we don’t mind walking 20 minutes) and the Westin is in the process of updating all rooms. Good restaurant on site fish tacos and hamburgers. The property is a motel and not a hotel but you have access to all Westin amenities. The beach is less than a 10 minutes walk. You must cross a street but there is a cross walk light and drivers stop before you even press the button.
In the strip mall they’re next to Sunshine, Eats, Legends and Yoshi. Legends best happy hour on the island. Drinks very reasonable priced. Yoshi excellent sushi with happy hours and during busy season and weekends should make reservations. Go to webcam to see 7 mile beach, water: warm, calm, clear.

Terrible property overall. The rooms smell very bad, can back and everything went straight to the wash with a terrible mold odor.
There is zero communication between the staff, I had asked for late check out and reassured me that’s fine gladly I double checked the day before and they were clueless. I ordered a taxi went to the reception 20min later as no one contacted me to cause they told me the wait was 15min only to tell me that she didn’t know who the taxi was for so she canceled it. My first room was right next to their grill/bar which resulted in loud music till 11pm so had to switch rooms!! I was also in need for feminine products which they didn’t have and had to ask the staff for them.
I’ll give it to them they honored an early check in and check out. You can use the Westin facilities but be mindful is super expensive I paid $10 USD for a cold brew!!

Them my new room had a problem with shower they came and got it working but then there was no hot water
But the worst of all was no sleep due to baby crying all night long
Of course this was out of staffs control
I decided to check out a day early
Sunshine suites staff were the best and helped me out in any way they could
I will continue to stay here in future because of their staff alone

There was only 1 dining area, which was by the 1 pool. The pool had 1 covered pagoda to stay out of the sun with only a few sun loungers.

The room was clean on arrival and was regularly cleaned.

The hotel is linked to the Westin Hotel across the road, which is a five star hotel, and all the facilities can be used. If you want better facilities maybe you should book a higher rated hotel than the Sunshine Suites.

We were booked for a week at a timeshare on the East End. We stayed 1 night at Sunshine Suites which gave us 2 days on Seven Mile with easy access to the Westin’s beautiful beach for half of the price of the Westin. Everything was great at Sunshine Suites. The room was dated but clean though we didn’t spend much time there. Staff was friendly and efficient. Grounds were beautiful. Restaurant was highly rated; so we had dinner there which was good. Highly recommend.
