I’ve been traveling to Caye Caulker for 15 years and have stayed at the Plaza many times. I have to assume there is a new owner b/c you’ve gone way down hill. Checking out and moving locations and will not stay a second night. The beds used to be luxurious with nice new linens. No longer. The towels are old and frayed. The toilet doesn’t work because you don’t maintain your property. You are nowhere near capacity and our room is next to the bar w/LOUD music from noon to 1:30AM. Never again bye

Booked the Plaza Hotel as a budget option for our family trip (2 adults, 1 child). The room & common areas were clean and welcoming. AC worked great. Loved having thr balcony! No TV in rooms, but WiFi was good! Staff were all so friendly & helpful. Also great having coffee available in the mornings! The location is away from the main strip so a bit quieter, but still walkable to lots of great restaurants, shops & the water!

the over all hotel is in vert poor condition. reletivly to the other hotels you have so many better ways to spend your money. the cooling system smells, there is no quiet and therewas some one else's stuff in our room when we came in it. if it was possible to just walk away we would have done it.

Stealing! Do not stay in this hotel! During checking in we were informed to keep all important document, money and expensive belonging in the room safe, than we were asked to sign the waiver that hotel is not responsible for missing or stealing in the room, after that we were informed that we MUST leave room key each time when we leaving the room (JOKE). We checked in, we left everything in the room (important belingings in the safe) and we went out for the dinner. On the way back to the hotel we noticed that the guy from reception is standing in front of the hotel, when he saw us approaching he disappeared, we noticed that something is not right. We ran in to the lobby he wasn't there, I ran on the second floor to my room and I met another person near walking by my door, I asked where is the guy from reception he said he's fixing some problem in 3rd floor (very weird), 5 second ago he was in fron of the hotel. We came in to our room and the safe WAS OPENED!!! Money was missing. We went to the reception report and the guy who was (fixing on yhe 3rd floor) was seating at his desc! We told him what's going on, and we requested to see surveillance video, he said that today they have problems with cameras and nothing was recorded. We told him we are going to call police but he said that nothing we can do because we sign waiver that hotel is not responsible for missing things in your room.

Great hotel near the port. We stayed in a room with 2 double beds with balcony. The linens were clean and the room was clean too. We didn't get any hot water but it was ok as we didn't need it due to the heat. The staff was nice and helpful. We got there early at 9:30am and they kept our luggage so that we could go for our snorkel tour. When we came back in the afternoon they already took our luggage to our room. It was very nice of them. Check-in and check-out were quick. Only issue I noticed was the lack of electric outlets to charge phones. Overall, a good experience.

This is one of the bigger hotels on the island but it’s very small compared to the resorts on San Pedro. Located right in the middle of town, you can see either side of the island from the hotel’s many decks and rooftop. You have to drop off your key and pick it back up when you come and go but I kind of liked this because I could just head out with one of their beach towels and not worry about keeping track of a key. Overall loved our stay here. Oh and the coffee is AMAZING!

If you are an adventurer who only needs a clean place to crash with a good bed, clean shower, and good A/C, then this hotel is perfect for you. If you are a hang out at the resort kind of traveler, then pass on this one and book one of the more expensive hotels on the island with more amenities. No TV in your room, but free purified water for all guests in the lobby.

Really like the property!! Was clean and cool. The door only locked with a key so it was very tricky getting the door open. They wanted you to leave your jey at the front desk if you left which was sketchy so we didnt. Had a nice fridge, great wifi and a nice bathroom. Amazing location, our room was clean, a/c was good and the black out curtains were great. There was a fridge which was useful. The staff were friendly and helpful. Coffee and tea making facilities downstairs every morning.
The only downsides were; 1) The WiFi was terrible on the 3rd floor, pretty much couldn’t access it at all from the room. 2) A small thing but there was a sign in the bathroom about reusing towels to save water (which is great), we hung our towels up everyday as we didn’t feel they needed replacing but they were changed daily anyway.

I liked this hotel. Only slight issues were with the door key that was difficult to take out & the shower, which sometimes didn't get quite hot enough. But overall nice stay & would stay here again! And Caye Caulker is super awesome!!

I wish they would’ve told us that they had a sister property across the street and that is where we were to stay the first night, you complain because it felt like a dorm I was no security people could come in and out as they pleased. This hotel was fine for our quick one night stay, but in general leaves a lot to be desired. Most notably, there’s no hot water. Other downsides include way over worn bed and electrical wires hanging from the wall. Overall just pretty run down. Location is convenient.

The staff here by far is the best! They are always there and very helpful. The only thing that we were disappointed about was that we were supposed to get a king bed and got two doubles instead. Also the beds weren't as comfortable as they were the last time we stayed. Overall the location of the hotel is great and the staff is always amazing.

The three of us were very happy with this hotel. It was nicely decorated. The beds were comfortable. The air conditioning worked well. The hotel was a great location. There was a fridge in the room. Our friend who had a room with a king-size bed also had a balcony which was very nice, especially for laying out clothes to dry in the sun. It was a great hotel room for a reasonable price.

I didn't know what to expect since I didn't pay much for it, but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The outside of the building is a bit run down but the inside was decent. The A.C. and fan in the room worked great! The room was clean, with all the basic necessities. Nothing fancy. There's a microwave in the facility, requested to have an iron box and a hair dryer which were readily available. And it's a walking distance to the water taxi station. Loved the convenience.

Very clean, fresh linens and COLD air conditioning. The central location is great. Check-in/out simple, but obtaining the wifi password was odd and we just went without. Get specifics if it is important to your stay. Our king room had a fridge and safe, but no microwave. Would stay again for a night or two.

100m away from what they call a beach
Caye Caulker is a small friendly island, hotel is 1 block in from the coast which in Caye Caulker terms is 100 metres. Hotel is clean, with basic resources, not Avg height friendly if your 6'2 then expect to wear a crash helmet for every floor you decend as the floors overhang the stairs.
at one point we lost water supply and the hotel staff just appoligised and left it at that. Perhaps its just island life.

Barebones hotel; bed & shower; no refrigerator, no coffee fixings of any kind in room. My sister and I were traveling together. There was one chair in the room and no closet. Coffee fixings was on the 1st floor with the manager. When I went to help myself, the biggest cockroach was crawling across the floor; I whimpered and the manager came around the desk; the cockroach crawled out from under the coffee fixing and he stumped on it and kicked it outside the door. Needless to say I didn't avail myself of any coffee fixings.

Great Value - Clean but Old Hotel
This hotel was a great value for us to use for a couple of days. The hotel is dated and the bath fixtures, for example, need renovated, but the for the price this was easy to overlook. The A/C worked great, the room was clean, had a safe, and was quiet. I would recommend for value conscious travelers.

It was a good hotel for the price. It was a little loud with the electricity generators for the island just down the street. The hotel doesn't have good sound insulation for the windows and doors so you can hear everything down the hall and in the street. At least the generator noise was constant so I was able to go to sleep easily.

You can pay less on Caye Caulker, and you can do so and be directly on the beach. But I was travelling with my daughter and the Plaza hotel is very safe, clean, great bathrooms, great wifi, and I was happy with our choice.

A 3 minute walk from the water taxi, this hotel is everything you need on Caye Caulker! The beds were super comfy, the air conditioner worker perfectly, the shower was warm and the fridge was cold. Exactly what we needed and all we wanted. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, the balcony was a real treat (go up to the roof to catch the awesome sunset) and it was great value.

We stayed in Caye Caulker for 4 days in February 2017. Great island, very slow, laid back pace of life. We stayed at the Plaza Hotel and loved it. Easy check-in, good staff, very nice room, fairly quiet, and the room had a small refrigerator. The only drawback was we heard construction noise from a nearby building every morning around 6:30 a.m. but it was no big deal.
Caye Caulker is not for everyone - life moves very slowly. We loved it. The locals and tourists were both very friendly. You can walk the main part of the island in less than an hour. We took a snorkeling tour - very nice. There are so many different companies to pick from. There is no real beach on Caye Caulker. We heard most people swam at the Split but it was damaged in a recent hurricane so there is a lot of construction going on. When this is finished it should be pretty nice.
There are a lot of good places to eat, from hole in the walls to some fancier places. Chen's Market is next to the hotel so you can stock up on food and drinks. Keep in mind that Caye Caulker and San Pedro are some of the most expensive places in Belize, and Belize tends to be more expensive than Mexico.
We would definitely go back to both Caye Caulker and the Plaza Hotel.

We took a snorkeling tour - very nice. There are so many different companies to pick from. There is no real beach on Caye Caulker. We heard most people swam at the Split but it was damaged in a recent hurricane so there is a lot of construction going on. When this is finished it should be pretty nice.
There are a lot of good places to eat, from hole in the walls to some fancier places. Chen's Market is next to the hotel so you can stock up on food and drinks. Keep in mind that Caye Caulker and San Pedro are some of the most expensive places in Belize, and Belize tends to be more expensive than Mexico.
We would definitely go back to both Caye Caulker and the Plaza Hotel.

Restaurants and the beach are within short walking distance of the hotel. The staff was very friendly. No elevator, but our bags were carried for us. We hope to go back soon. Belize is affordable, friendly and the food is great!

Our stay at Plaza hotel was great. There were many choice once we arrived, but the staff and cleanliness were so great we just stayed 10 moghts at the Plaza hotel and never left. It is in the center of the island almost and you could walk to any destination in less than 10 minutes.

It's a pretty typical beach hotel. Nothing fancy, but it was clean enough and big enough, had hot water and ice cold A/C, and had a room safe and free WiFi. The staff members were all really sweet and very helpful. It was easy to find and close to the beach, a laundry service, a market, and several bars and restaurants.

This Hotel is not waterfront but is literally a 2 minute walk. Booked for a good rate. Shower had great pressure and temperature. Room and bed was spacious and comfortable. Staff were nice. No complaints at all :)

Watch out they have two different buildings.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was was clean but not like we seen on line. They have a new rooms across the street from the hotel you see online. They said they just opened it. The rooms don't have a closet or anywhere to hang your clothes. It does not even have anywhere to store your clothes. The door does not even have a handle on the inside. You have to lock the door to close it. If you have someone that wants to go out the other person has to be locked in or has to wait for the other to get back. The location was fine not as close to the beach as the picture with the basket ball photo. That is a block or two away from the hotel.

The hotel it self is quite cozy. Once we were situated we found the staff to be accommodating as they put up w/all of our requests! Although ther was construction going on across the street. Mr. Manager was awesome as well as the front desk staff. The beds were were comfy and the roof top Yoga was fantastic... I would stay there again. A pleasant stay!

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL
I have been to all the hotels in Caye Caulker and this was my worst experience over 15 years of going to stay at Caye Caulker. The staff are not friendly, they treat adults like kids, no visitors allowed, they act if your are prisoners to them while staying there. The have hidden charges for everything so be very careful and monitor your credit card while at this place. They offer no room cleaning and the bathrooms have a very bad scent that does not go away.

Perhaps not the best location
Hotel is in the town (not on the water), no pool. These are not bad things because the beach is minutes away. The staff were okay. The island power generator is down the street so the balconies are not so pleasant. The room was clean and well equipped. We used the room to sleep and with the AC on could not hear the generator.

The hotel was very nice with a roof area and is centrally located. They provided purified water at the front desk. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly and can even book tours for you. Wifi worked pretty well as well. Concrete flooring helped to keep the noise out. No elevator, but only 3 floors.
