One hell of a birthday trip at this . People bragged about this property how they had welcome drinks we didn’t receive any. Property is dated. Our lamp shades were filthy and have visible water stains. We had to request for our laundry room to be unlocked. We didn’t have Internet for several days to throughout our trip so we could not work or watch the one tv that’s in the two bedroom townhouse and the property refused to compensate us. Visit at your own risk.

The property is beautiful but I feel as though the cost does not match the experience. The pool is basic and average. They advertise their private beach but made it difficult to access. They were having engine problems with their boat and didn’t properly communicate the wait time so I waited time waiting patiently just for them to admit that they would not be able to take me over there. The manager never really had answers for any questions/issues happening on the property. The wifi on the property didn’t work during my stay.

Although this place was one of the better places on the island. But it seems a little out dated. I could have used tvs in the bedroom full lenght mirror, a microwave and some bug spray..I got ate up by mosquitoes on the inside. There was alot of constuction and our floors stayed really dusty there were no rugs. The staff was very nice. The buffet at the hotel cafe was really expensive at 65us per head... in comparison to all the other food on the island a nd it was no better. The pool was nice and clean. There is alot i can say about this place.. althought i would recommend it to people i would warn them of alot of things... it was reasonably priced for what you got. Beds was comfortable. And it was generally clean not immaculate... we stayed in a 3 bedroom with a pool. 1 tv for 6 people. I loved that it had a washer and dryer in unit. And the free internet was not the best.

Staff and place was nice. But we had ants on our bed and had to call the front desk twice to send someone to change sheets. The next morning we ended up with ants on the bed again and it seems like it come from the ac above the bed. They should think about placing it elsewhere.

Mahogany Bay Resort was great. The house was perfect for our family of 5. The staff was so friendly and always very responsive to anything we needed. We loved the Beach Club! I definitely recommend you rent a golf cart for your stay. It will make it easier to get around not only the resort, but the island as well.

Called front desk n they sent someone t cleaned the room when I got back some sheets on bed n a can spray for ants n bugs then the water was cut off at night! Horrible experience and to pay that price for the room is outrageous!!!

Our suite was decent although I’d never stay in a keeping suite again. You either have someone below you or above you and it can become quite noisy. There is no actual balcony to sit out in the sun the actual sunroom is enclosed in. The windows aren't actually enclosed in but rather glass slats which make it noisy as you can hear all the noise at night and loud birds and machinery early in the morning. There is no actual beach on this property but they do have a private beach you have to boat to. There is a lot of construction going on and this property has a long ways to go until completion. The food and drinks are decent but expensive! Housekeeping is kind of hit or miss.

Rooms are nice but you have to request every little thing and it takes hours for them to get it to you. Some staff are helpful but others were not. When you would ask a question, they would not answer your question directly, therefore, you are still left with the same question. Food was expensive and not good at all. They really do not offer any local food, you have to go off the hotel property to experience the local cuisine. We would try to eat something but they were always out of multiple things. Not a whole lot of fruit available and the fruit at the hotel was not that great. No entertainment.
This is not a beachfront hotel, it is 15 minutes by boat to their private beach. The beach is very nice but if you don't get a reservation for the boat on time, you get no beach time.
Pictures on Expedia are very misleading as it looks like the beach is right there. Very long walk from your room to pool and clubhouse. I would never visit this resort ever again and I will definitely do more research before booking a resort with Expedia. I will say people that live on the island are very kind and very excited to share their Island with you. If it wasn't for the residence on the island, this trip would have been horrible. They really were helpful.

Love is who is the concierge and front desk this is my third time traveling to their hotel and each time she set the bar higher and higher for accommodations comfort and an overall experience her suggestions to places to try places to go and things to do is nothing short of amazing Allen who also works at the hotel. Make sure that I was able to get my golf cart and always make sure I was OK princess and Miguel Junior was nothing short of amazing with their service and dining at the private beach. Miguel Jr made sure that my daughter and I did not want for nothing and our time spent at the beach was nothing short of amazing.

Concierge and front desk staff were not competent with regard to setting up reservations and taxis. Two restaurants did not have our reservations and taxi never showed up.
We found a wonderful driver on our own and called him directly for service.

Rented a 3 bedroom family cottage. The space was great! Newer construction, well maintained and very clean. Loved the private patio space and great amenities at the main lodge. Clean pool and big workout center. We rented a golf cart for the week near the airport which made it convenient to travel the island and avoid the need for a taxi. Golf carts are also available at the resort for rent.

Lots of really cool people on the property. Its accessible amenities from third parties were the highlight. Including the Pool club.

Honestly- it has just gone downhill. Used to be one of the nicer properties in the area and now it is just average, at best!
From spotty WiFi, to daily power outages, terrible overpriced food, leering staff and generally just not up to the standards it should be for the cost.
Fine- make it a standard hotel and be honest about what is and is not included. Explain that the property is not paved and shares space with ownership properties who enjoy firing off fireworks and handguns at 3 am. Explain that you NEED a golf cart. It certainly should not be in Hilton’s Curio collection and is a 2-3 star property at best.
We actually checked out 4 days early and changed hotels to save our holiday!
Pros: beach club was lovely for a bit. Bartenders (Alex) and servers over there were generally great. Jessica at the coffee shop was lovely!
Cons:
-Loud
-Poor gym set up (no towels or water or wipes)
-A general manager (male)who openly complained about Americans- who were the majority of guests at the property and was unwilling to assist with anything. Generally some staff seems to care- I get the sense that their Management does not.
-Our sink leaked.
-Our dishwasher leaked.
-We had to call to request towels each day
- housekeeping wasn’t actually “cleaning”
- rarely had hot water enough for 4 showers after a day of swim and sand
-spotty WiFi
-power outages at resort on a daily basis (not the town)

Hardware was very old. The cottages were old and apparently they are hotel/condo ownership. The safety box and washer did not work. A/C unit in master bedroom leaked onto the pillows during the night.

The surrounding area was nice and amenities were strictly ok. The gym is barely basic and has broken Pelotons that were never repaired. There is something missing with service hospitality unfortunately- service is slow and just not attentive.

Did not appreciate the isolation at this resort. I booked the individual cottage but it's away from everything, the pool, the restaurant and you either have to walk or rent one of their golf carts. Was so disappointed.

The staff was very friendly and attentive. Beautiful property and the food we ate at the resort was very good! Only downside was an issue we had with a 3rd party they use to go deep sea fishing. We paid extra for a larger boat but got the same boat that came with the package that was $350 cheaper. We tried to get this resolved with the staff before leaving since they were closed but they weren’t able to do anything. A week later we heard back from the company and they did not help and actually blocked my boyfriend after he explained what happened as wrong…. So don’t use the company they are associated with for fishing, or if you do make sure you are getting exactly what you paid for prior to the trip.

The hotel is in the island that requires an additional flight that is $200 per person. The property is not beach front. To get to the beach you will need to go on a boat ride and the schedules are limited. Beach access is only a few hours a day. Food and drink prices are very high even by New York standars. The beach is nice, but if I were to travel to Belize again I would definitely look for a different hotel.

The resort is nice and the staff were all very kind. The views are nice. We appreciated the consistent upkeep of the outdoor and public areas (ex. pools, restaurant). The private island was also really nice, but it was completely empty when we went. Apparently “slow” season is through October and then November begins the travel season. Still nice! The main restaurant connected to the lobby and the coffee shops were great. We didn’t try other food places on the resort. The only downside to this resort was the upkeep of our room. We had daily housekeeping but had to request that the old washcloths be removed instead of just giving us new washcloths, more than once. We also saw 2 unsightly roaches on our last night. Maintenance came and took care of them. But it was unsettling to see. All things considered, I’d give it a solid B.

The property is under construction, but you can see that it’s going to be even better cute little coffee shop on the grounds n restaurants. Staff was very helpful. The area is safe you can travel at night without being worried. A great stay. Only advice there is a lot of mosquitos they need to have the area sprayed.

I stayed here in June with my partner for his birthday. It was absolutely amazing; the staff was so accommodating for everything we requested. The resort was quiet but we didn’t mind as it was relaxing and a nice getaway from the hustle of the city. It was close and convenient to all places we wanted to visit in San Pedro. And the private beach was an amazing touch!

The service was amazing hector and Trish kenroy were very polite very helpful. I loved the free coffee. I also loved are room it felt really intimate safe and everything worked in the room! What we didn’t like was the limited hours on the private beach I feel like slow season or busy season we should be allowed to stay until sunset the hotel should offer sunset dinner on the private beach! We rented bed which was 60 dollars plus food why can’t I watch a sunset from the bed I purchased for the whole day.

The staff is very friendly and polite. Getting thru the resort was easy with a golf cart which you can rent from the resort. The rooms are nice and comfortable. Only negative there is alot of construction going on around the property so be prepared to see alot of construction equipment and supplies.

We spent five amazing nights at Mahogany Bay Resort in San Pedro and loved every moment. The resort is made up of charming private cottages and homes, offering a unique and peaceful experience. A highlight was the private beach—a short boat ride away and absolutely worth it.

The staff was excellent, the on-site restaurant was great, and the location made it easy to explore local food and culture. It was the perfect mix of relaxation and access to the best of San Pedro. Highly recommend.

Overall, it was fairly easy getting to the property. I didn't really understand why there was a resort fee when some of the amenities were not avaliable (private beach was closed for 3 days and the restaurants that were there, were closed half the time). I had to call several times about the a/c being out and they said it was colon cooling and gave me various reasons why it wasn't cooling. Finally, they switched our room and there was a noticeable difference. In the new room, the TV cable and local channels were not available (but we did have access in the previous room). They said they would send someone to look at it, but no one came. I came again and waited another hour with no one arriving to fix the issue. We called again after we went out, then 2 people came back to back to disconnect the cable cord and put it back in, but it still didn't work. The next person said she would have IT come and take a look, but no one ever came back. They tried to say that someone was working on the cable line. I was just very disappointed overall.

Loved the property. Very friendly staff throughout the entire stay. My only disappointment is that the weekend we arrived was the last weekend for the private beach club and we weren’t made aware of that due to the offseason. We luckily got to attend 1 time at least. Great amenities. The golf cart noise wasn’t anywhere near as bad as previous guests have stated. It was my birthday weekend and they decorated my room for me. Would definitely visit again.
