This resort is small which benefits travelers due to the fact you get to know the staff on a personal level. Excursions can be booked right through the resort and you depart and arrive for your excursions right at the resort’s dock. Stayed for 5 days and had a great time!

First and foremost, the staff were amazing! Probably the best service we have had at a hotel ever! We had the perfect suite with a kitchenette, a little dining living room, and then our own separate bedroom and bathroom. Cleaning services and laundry available. ( laundry $20 US per load)… the hotel offers free kayaking, which we took advantage of and they help you get in and out of the kayak. Restaurant /bar on site. Golf cart rental is a must as there’s nothing really walking distance from the hotel. Lots of bars and restaurants between Bellavista and the town of San Pedro…. Truck Stop is wonderful, we went there three times as it’s the middle of football playoffs and it’s a great sports bar. The weather wasn’t ideal and certainly not typical of this time of year, but we made the most of it and will be back!

We had an exceptional one week stay at Bella Vista at the end of December. There was a tiny bit of confusion initially about our included breakfast since we booked through a third party but they sorted it out quickly and to our satisfaction. Linda is an outstanding member of the team, she really goes above and beyond to be helpful and kind. I feel as though we formed a friendship with her and will look forward to seeing her again at future stays! One thing I noticed that BV is above-par with is spraying for bugs regularly- there were very little-to-no mosquitos or sandflies bothering us, where as soon as we went elsewhere they immediately apparent. We will be back! Both San Pedro and Bella Vista have our hearts <3

We loved staying here. Loved the staff and owners made us feel welcome and when we did have an issue they did fix it right away. The room was spacious. We also loved the food at the restaurant Aja. We loved Dakota the dog of the hotel she is so sweet. Location is pretty good only 10 mins from town San Pedro. Overall I would recommend staying here.

Cons: We stayed in the Bonefish which had everything we needed and was clean, but the bed was sooo uncomfortable.

I am conflicted writing this review. I'd love to give the people who do a great job working at the resort credit, but as a dog owner and a dog lover, I must do the right thing and tell you why I will not give this resort good reviews or even mediocre. There is a dog present on the premises known as Dakota and we've been told she is a \"family dog\". She belongs to the owner of the resort. The owner is an American who also owns several others in the area and travels a lot, leaving Dakota in the resort.The staff sometimes feeds her scraps from left over diners. We've been told she was fed regularly, but that was not so. I checked her bowl frequently, and it was empty. When she was finally fed and I saw was she was getting in her bowl, I cried and was appalled at the same time. Mostly rice and some beans covered with garlic and onions sauces, which are toxic to dogs. She is skin and bones, covered with scabs, and her poop was full of blood (we took her for walks). She is a beautiful black German Shephard with incredible personality, but suffering in silence at the resort owned by a person who could afford to provide better care for his \"best friend.\" We've seen stray dogs on the streets of San Pedro who'd been better off than the \"family dog\" of a person with means. So, if you are like us and love dogs and are planning to stay at one of his resorts, please check on Dakota and if she doesn't improve, follow our lead. We've got her a bed, because she'd been sleeping on concrete with

Love this place! First time for us. Second time for our friends. Staff very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Reef Shark room. Our friends were in Barracuda and another. Super cute bungalows with kitchens. We will be back and would probably choose different one that has kitchen. Ours didn’t have a kitchen but wasn’t a big deal.

We stayed in the Barracuda bungalow. It was perfect—one bedroom, full kitchen, covered deck, adequate WiFi, quiet, powerful a/c, plenty of space—for what we needed.

Space is maximized at BV, so the bungalows are pretty tight but neither noise nor traffic were a problem.

Food was good, drinks were great. Staff really couldn’t be any better. They’re friendly, helpful & always available.

There is no beach, but rather a long pier. Be sure to take advantage of the free kayak.

You will need a golf cart if you plan on spending any time in San Pedro (which you should). Some might see this as an inconvenience, but I really enjoyed driving around town, immersed in the hustle & bustle.

Navigation, from the south end of the island all the way to Secret Beach was not a problem, even w/o mobile service.

Oh my goodness we LOVED Bella Vista Resort. It was tough to leave! What an absolute hidden gem. The staff not only became friends but family. Going far above and beyond to make sure every need we had was met! The restaurant surprised us with extra special Anniversary treatment. Drinks were delicious, plenty of AF options! Food was out of this world! The rooms are beautiful and each unique. The massages on site were phenomenal. We loved the pool and live music. Our trip was different since we were amid hurricane beryl however the owners and staff stuck around and made sure we were safe at all times! The location is quiet and hidden but super convenient when taking a golf cart around San Pedro! We cannot wait to visit again! Best Anniversary Trip Ever!!!!! Thank you guys!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at Bella Vista. The whole staff was engaging and friendly and really worked together to make all their guests happy and comfortable. We stayed in the sea turtle room and my first thought was, oh no this is going to be noisy! But honestly it was great. The music and live entertainment was very mellow and low key. After dinner we sat in our room and just enjoyed listening. Restaurant closed at 10 so it was never an issue.
The pool was great and never crowded. We were blessed with breakfast included and let me tell you it was wonderful! Actually every meal we ate there was wonderful and drinks as well. Ms. Linda went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. I loved the fact that included was transportation from and to the San Pedro airport was included.
Honestly everything was perfect, and I could go on. Thanks to a great staff that works so well together. I hope we are able to return.

My partner and I had an incredible time at this property.
The location is beautiful absolutely stunning. Very close to other areas to explore on the island. Walkable and bikeable and of course the resort will drive you wherever you need to go.
The property is well maintained and your needs are constantly being met. We loved our room overlooking the ocean and even though there was music every night and we were overlooking the bar and pool also, it was always finished between 9 and 10.
I have never know such attentive and friendly staff. I would go back to this resort just for the staff alone. In fact we were both sad to say goodbye!! First time for me to be that sad to leave a resort.
We got very lucky with the restaurant also. The food was absolutely delicious. I believe we loved everything we ate.
We would definitely go back.
Thank you to the owners who were really friendly and constantly checking up on us to make sure our needs were met.
And finally again, thank you to the staff. We loved you all !!!!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Bella Vista Resort in San Pedro, Belize, for four unforgettable nights, and I can confidently say that this resort exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived until the day I departed, every aspect of my stay was nothing short of perfection.
First and foremost, the location of Bella Vista Resort is a true slice of heaven on Earth. Nestled on the beautiful Ambergris Caye, the resort offers breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea from every angle. Waking up to the sound of gentle waves and the sight of crystal-clear turquoise waters was a daily treat that I will cherish forever.
The accommodations at Bella Vista are top-notch. The room was immaculately clean, and the attention to detail in the decor was evident, creating a tranquil and luxurious atmosphere.
The resort's staff deserves special recognition for their warmth and hospitality. From the friendly front desk team to the exceptional restaurant staff, everyone went above and beyond to ensure that I felt welcome and well taken care of throughout my stay. They were always eager to assist with any request and offered valuable insights into local activities and attractions.

Bella vista is a quaint small resort and very unique compared to all the other resorts on Ambergris Caye. It is operated by a husband and wife from Sarasota with a staff of (I'm guessing) about 12-15 including the managers, wait staff, cleaning persons, bartenders, and chef with 4 kitchen staff. When we arrived they remembered us and we were greeted with big hugs and a towel arrangement of a heart with flowers on our bed that said \"Welcome Back\".
On site is a wonderful restaurant, Aji, which has an island wide reputation as being one of the top restaurants on We actually ate there about half of our 8 day stay, the food in delicious! Besides lodging and a restaurant, they also offer snorkeling, diving, fishing trips here as well as parasailing.
We had stayed here last April and was so impressed that we invited 2 close friends and booked this trip with them.
They were SOOO impressed that they want to book another trip here again in 2024.
I could literally go on and on about this place but all I can say is I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else but here.
A special thanks to the owners Mike and Sandy as well as Pablo, Manny, Enrique and Susie for making our stay a memorable one. We will see you again next year, it's a promise!!

Great service from pick up to drop off at the ferry terminal. Staff were very kind and helpful answering questions and arranging everything from a golf cart rental (main form of island transportation) to snorkeling trip. Enjoyed courtesy paddleboards and ocean kayaks. My room was a little noisy on one very windy night (wind whistling around a door) but room was otherwise very well appointed with a full kitchen, AC, and it's own outdoor shower.

Stayed here for 4 nights with family in other rooms. Small boutique resort with very friendly and helpful staff. My sis and cousin each stayed in a private casita. My bf and I were in a room with pool and sea views. The restaurant on site was very good and their sister resort Pur had a great restaurant too. They shuttled us there for free. We booked a snorkel tour through the resort which ended up being much more than the posted price at the bar, so that was a bummer, but the tour was great though. Posted price was $285 and we were charged $450. We also arranged massages on site for $75/hour which were very nice. From the resort, you can walk along the water or into town. We rented a golf cart through the resort, and due to some issues it was 90 minutes late and cost more than originally quoted. They charge $65 for a 4 seater, more for a 6 seater. They also provide free transfer to and from the water taxi or airport on San Pedro which was great. Some issues figuring out payment, but got it sorted out. Keep in mind they’re on island time, so things take longer. Overall, a pleasant stay and would recommend.

This property is located on the way to the famous Secret Beach and away from the hustle and bustle of San Pedro town. It is right on the beach with a full restaurant and bar that serves delicious meals and drinks. The room was very spacious and comfortable with many conveniences like a mini fridge, coffee maker, microwave, plates, and utensils. The staff (Manny and Linda) were very welcoming and helpful and even arranged our boat tour with Aner and Kevin which was the highlight of our trip.

Bella Vista is a top notch resort with a wonderful staff and beautiful views. The food was exceptional here and at their sister resort, Pur Boutique. We were taken care of from when we were picked up at the airport until we were dropped off. Zamir, Manny and Pablo (not Pedro.. I called him the wrong name most of our week there.. Sorry Pablo!) were the best hosts!!! Resort was clean and peaceful. Finally, we were greeted every morning by Bella Vista's ambassador, Dakota, who wanted to play fetch with a coconut. My wife and I miss it already. 5 out of 5 stars

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! We spent 4 great nights here. The service was great!! Pablo, Zamir, Manny and the entire staff were super friendly and polite. Annar and Kevin took us out fishing for a half day and we caught enough for a great lunch. Kevin even helped my wife and I (bought non swimmers) to snorkel.

The location is about 10 minutes north of town so you avoid the noise. Aji is a good option if you want to eat on site. Linda was sweet and polite every morning.

I'd have to be nitpicky to find something to complain about. The owner Mike was extremely friendly as was his wife, Nancy. If we're ever back in San Pedro, we'll be staying there again.

Stay was excellent. Zamir, Juan, Manny, Anner, Linda were top notch, friendly, always smiling, helpful and knowledgeable. Restaurant was 5 star. Best place we ate. Nice pool. Room was perfect. Miss Dakota 2.

This was one of the best vacations we've ever taken. The room we stayed in (Sting Ray) was 5 ft. from the pool with a beautiful ocean view. The room itself was laid out nicely. 3 separate rooms, a \"living room\" with an ocean view, a bedroom and a separate bathroom with a shower and double sinks. It was SO clean and nice.
We were treated with a free breakfast of three different choices each day. I especially liked the Belizean breakfast with fry jacks. We also ate dinner at the restaurant several days. The paella and grouper with shrimp in a cream sauce were especially wonderful.
In spite of this resort being so beautiful, what really made it special was the people. They all made us feel as if we were part of their family. Each one went out of their way to make sure we were happy. Thank you Linda for making our mornings great with those awesome breakfasts. Thanks to Manny for being our server most meals. Thank you Gian, Zamir, Pablo, Enrique and ALL the other employees who made our stay so special in so many ways. We were also fortunate to meet Mike and Sandy, the owners who live in South Dakota when they're not at the resort. Nice people.
Thank you all again and we can hardly wait until we return to this paradise.

No better place to stay! Bella Vista!

Bella Vista is on the top of my list for places to stay in Belize. My first time in Belize with my daughter and from pick up; it was nothing short of amazing. The entire staff! From the staff to the owners were so welcoming. I love that they’re all family oriented. Aji restaurant which is conveniently on property and has the best food. Special thanks to Zulmr, Mike and his wonderful wife, Mannie and Linda. You’ll will be missed. I’ll be back soon! Tatiana and Giyana

The room and balcony overlooking the ocean was beautiful. The staff works hard to make your stay worry free. From scheduling our covid test to be done in our room to arranging snorkeling tours and golf cart rentals, the staff just make it happen. Personal attention from the employees makes this property a top destination. We will definitely return to this property.

We just returned to the US from a week stay at Bella Vista. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the property was beautiful. We ate many times at Aji and never had a bad meal. We also did an all day snorkeling and fishing expedition with David and Auner and had a great time. If we ever go back to Ambergris Caye, we will stay here again.

As a first time visitors to San Pedro this resort was perfect! The staff was over the top helpful at all times! The rooms are on the older side with cracks and visible wear and tear but it smelled great, kept very clean and we felt safe! The restaurant attached to the resort has some of the most amazing food on the island! The chief they have has nightly specials and everything is so fresh and full of taste!! We did a snorkeling trip out to the reef with the resort, the guide was patient and took time to show different spots for snorkeling if we wanted. The best end to the snorkeling trip was the fresh caught conch ceviche!!! This resort was one of the best experiences and we are so thankful.

This property exceeded my expectations!
Zamir picked us up from the water taxi and drove us to Bella Vista, along the way showing/educating us of the city.
When we arrived we were surprised at how cute and beautiful the property was!
We stayed in the Barracuda- it was cozy and clean with an amazing front porch!
Linda served us breakfast everyday and made us feel like family. I can't remember everyone's name, but all of the staff provided A1 service.
When I return to Belize- there is no other place I'd rather stay.

We just returned from a weeklong stay at Bella Vista, and I cannot put into words how outstanding our experience was. Zamir was waiting for us at the airport when we landed and took us on a brief tour of San Pedro on our way back to the resort. When we got there, we were greeted with the best pina coladas we have ever tasted. The Crocodile suite where we stayed was amazing! We had a beautiful view of the Caribbean from our private balcony. The suite was so clean and comfortable! I have to say that the staff put our experience over the top. They took care of everything! They set up a boat tour for us to go snorkeling at shark ray alley and Hol Chan marine reserve, and a private tour of the ruins and the zoo on the mainland. We also had a massage on the dock, overlooking the water that was life changing! Lol. The food at Aji restaurant was outstanding. We had complementary breakfast every day, which was some of the best food I have ever tasted. That was surpassed only by the service we received from Linda. She literally treated us like family. I have never met such a genuinely happy and upbeat person. The entire staff made us feel like family. We could tell they definitely love what they do. We absolutely cannot wait to go back. If I could give Bella Vista 10 stars, it wouldn’t be enough.

Perfect little spot just outside of town. Be sure to rent a golf cart for getting around! Zamir picked us up from the airport and gave us a little tour through town on the way to the resort. My husband and I stayed in the reef shark suite on the top floor with a gorgeous balcony to drink coffee on and let the ocean breeze into the room each morning. It’s not a crazy fancy place but it was everything we needed! Comfortable bed and very clean room/bathroom. We ate at Aji (on site restaurant) quite a bit as the food was incredible. Best fry jacks we had on the whole island! The staff were so helpful and treated us like good friends. Highly recommend booking excursions through them instead of the places in town. Would definitely recommend this place and will stay here again if we return to San Pedro!

It is a small quaint beautiful resort. Ideal location since it is quiet but close to town. Roads are good from the resort to town. I wouldn’t want to stay any further out since roads can get bad. Place has its own dock so dive shops can pick you up. Breakfast starts at 8 am. I wish they would start breakfast earlier like 7:30 am to accommodate divers. They would make an egg burrito to take but that would get old everyday.
The concierge, Boney, took very good care of us as did the other staff. The saying, ‘To know him is to love him’, describes Boney. Bartender made great drinks and he had a real bubbly personality. You must try his frozen Pina colada. Have a good happy hour also. The restaurant had some of the best food, service, and ambience on the island. Really good reggae on Saturday. Even if you can’t stay there, go to Aji’s at least one night. The only real negatives was our mattress at the Bone fish cabin was so hard while I had read online that there was pillow top bedding. Entire bed needed replaced. Sounded like it was falling apart. Boney did say they will be replacing it while doing some updating to that cabin. Also, no a/c in the bedroom. I’d make sure bed was replaced and a/c added to bedroom before we stayed in that cabin again. With those changes, resort would be close to perfect!
