Food and drinks were in us dollars, and all the other places we stopped at was in Belize currency! Though it was a little pricey! Only eat at the hotel once because we were told about the pricing issue.

The property is in the vicinity of lots of restaurants. I highly recommend Garifuna Soul Food Restaurant. I had a King Room Deluxe which had a full kitchen with anything you need to cook, store and reheat your food. Thus room type really allows you to ger comfortable and store your belongings away. The concierge was very helpful with recommending dining options like Sweet Tutz. The food there was very authentic and reasonably priced! 1 of 2 pools on-site was open for most days of my stay. There is NO beach access from this resort. The phones were not working during my stay but the staff came to my room if they needed to relay a message to me which was helpful. I never dined at the property. The staff was kind and accommodating. The resort was very quiet so, I was able to rest well. I visited in May as a solo guest.

Unfortunately, the major complaint was the noise coming from the kitchen area very late at night. It started upon arrival, but we did not know at the time where the noise was coming from or what it was. It sounded like someone moving furniture and metal dropping to the floors, etc. In additional loud voices. It reached a peak on Saturday, April 25 going into Sunday morning at 1am. Our room was on the 3rd floor and at 1am on April 26, I went downstairs to seek the security guard, as the lobby was closed. I explained to him about the noise and he proceeded to follow me toward my room and he immediately recognized that it was coming from the kitchen area on floor 2. He said that he was going to ask them to keep it down. I expressed concern that this should not be happening this late at night, etc. Shortly after, the noise continued, but it was not long lasting. The next morning, I registered a complaint with reception and the rep was surprised and said that the restaurant usually closes at 9:30pm. That evening at around 10pm on Sunday April 26, the noise began again and seemed to have stopped around midnight. I knew it was our last night and upon check out on Monday April 27, I asked if the incidents were logged in and they had no record at all. In addition, the manager happened to be there and I explained the whole situation. None of this should have ever happened at a resort (especially very late at night). The complaint should have been recorded somewhere.

Bananas on the beach was such a treat to stay at last week. Their whole front desk and staff were very sweet and were able to answer all questions. Upon arrival they took our bags to the room. The room itself was very clean and neat. The water pressure shower was amazing and the AC worked very well. The tv in the room is a smart tv and you are able to stream using your own logins which was a classy touch !! They offer
laundry services for $10 a load USD , this was very helpful. The room service was excellent and super tasty. My partner and I are , already planning to come back and stay at this lovely hotel. I would recommend them to any and everyone !! They even planned with my partner and set up birthday decorations for me!

Really nice style convenient location right down the street from lots of stores and restaurants. The only thing I did not know was you cannot swim at the beach directly in front of the property but if you do any type of excursions the water taxes will pick you up right on the pier. The only swimmer Beach in San Pedro is a secret beach.

Staff were really friendly and helpful, and the room/property were very clean. They arranged the accommodations for my travel before hand so getting to and from the airport was a breeze. I highly recommend! Tip: communicate with the staff via email or WhatsApp as much as possible with the details of your trip in advance (flight/arrival and departure, etc).

I thought the property was very beautiful. Everybody was really nice. The pools were clean. Had a nice little beach bar next door where we ate many meals and enjoyed the company of fellow travelers. I love that it was just slightly out of town enough to get us away from the noise and and pollution from all the golf course, but close enough that it was just a 5-minute enjoyable ride to get anywhere or there was action.

True, there IS a beach connected to the property, however, there is a sea wall, so no \"regular\" access to the ocean. Although the water at sea wall was deep enough for a boat, you technically \"could\" get in the water from the boat dock.

Our room \"door\" was a patio slider ...with curtains... As we were on the ground floor, people walking by could see our entire room. When the curtains were closed for privacy, the room was dark... convenient early morning but not so during the day. So when changing we had to remember to close the curtains and turn on some lights

Our room was on the ground floor, along the OUTTER wall In other words not opening into the courtyard...Our room \"door\" opened onto a quasi alley way, that anyone from the street could walk down. A cause for hesitation however for the most part, only hotel guests walked past.

Shower had low water pressure but maintenance fixed that right up. There was no closet, just a rod with hangers and a safe on a pedestal. There was a small fridge, two place settings worth of utensils, coffee pot, etc.

STAFF was awesome, they readily provided everything we asked for/about. ...excursions... clothes iron... microwave...fix safe door, directed us to space to park golf cart, arranged for taxi for us

As our stay drew to an end, the sagassum smell got worse and eventually smelled bad from morning to night.

We were fortunate to be beachfront. We peeked into some rooms that weren’t and felt we would have been very disappointed if we had chosen otherwise.

To be clear, there is no beach. The only beach is a bumpy 45 drive away at Secret Beach. There is a large clean and well maintained space in front of the hotel that is safe with sand brought in.

The annoying issue was housecleaning. Every single day we had to bother the front desk to chase down getting a room clean before 5 on. Then, we routinely had to go to the front desk to get items the maid had missed. When we spelled out what needed to be done, it was but we always seemed to be chasing something.

The hotel would benefit ny providing an info card explaining where to get water ( and providing larger jugs) as well as identifying local restaurants. The ones on either side of the hotel are to be avoided (one is triple the price of local fare and at “On the Rocks” - we waited 1 hour 45 min for a meal. Dowttown, Elves was excellent at the high end but worth it. El Patio is to be avoided at all costs as the prices are the same as Elves but the portions were minute for the island

Unfortunately- and no fault to Bananas - the sargassum was so bad it was nauseating at times and chased us from the beach. This is widespread problem everywhere on the island except at Secret Beach

Overall the hotel is good. Staff were all amazing and always wanting to help, however they fell flat in some areas.

We had an amazing ocean view from our room and the beach was great but the fact that we couldn’t swim off the beach directly was disappointing and frustrating since the pictures online made it appear that you could.

The bar onsite was only open for breakfast and for happy hour only. Wished it was open all day, maybe more people would hang out at the hotel if it was.

There was a pop up bar that opened between the pool and the beach which was great but it was only for one day out of the 8 that we were there.

Cleaning staff were all very nice but cleaning of the rooms was very basic. Floors were not cleaned, bed was poorly made, bathroom was barely done.

We heard it was getting better because of new management and I think it will as long as there is someone strong running it.

Room was clean and spacious. Had room with sitting area and kitchen and that was nice. No dresser in bedroom, would prefer to have one. Location was good if you want to be in or near San Pedro. Easy to get around with golf cart rental. There is a sea wall so no beach. But sun loungers near pools and back area to relax. Our room was near the breakfast area and was loud early in the morning. Would recommend asking for a quiet area. Don't lose your room key, it will.cost you! Overall a nice stay and good value for the price.

Staff was so attentive and everything was so clean. There are always staff around even late at night and they will make sure your golf carts are locked up. They even check on you when they see you coming in late (I was always coming back at 2 am) to make sure you get in okay. I had no issues and I will be staying here again when I come back.

Rooms are small and very noisy. Doors are paper thin so beware of any private conversation you may want. Water pressure in the shower was awful, but the bed was super comfortable. The bar is only open until 6pm, but next door have a wonderful little tiki bar open with food all day/evening. Staff very friendly but I really found that with all the Belize nationals.

Had a very nice 5 night stay at Bananas on the Beach. Check-in was a breeze and the staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The room was clean and comfortable with all the essential amenities. The layout is a bit of a labyrinth but makes it feel quaint once you figure it out. The property is clean and well kept. The location was perfect in my opinion because it was not in town around the golf cart chaos, but easily walkable along the beachfront or roadways (if you dont mind sharing the road with the golf carts). Plenty of options for nearby bars and restaurants (be sure to try South Station for lunch or dinner), Pro Divers steps away, several options for grocery and convenience stores. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel is under renovation. And we were warned about it. They offered to cancel. We didn’t wanna rush and try to find another room on the fly so we would stayed aside from the noise. The staff was very mediocre. The room hardly has any electrical plugs which was annoying. I had a very hard time getting something. I left there flown to our new hotel. It shouldn’t have been as hard as it was in other words I would not recommend this hotel although it has a good location.

Liked the accommodations which included a nice-sized sitting room, kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom. Staff were all great. Liked the location on Sea Grape which is close but not too close to the congested and noisy center of San Pedro. Lots of stores, restaurants and fruit stands close by. One the downside: Hotel was supposed to pick us up at the water taxi terminal but did not. (Hotel charges 12.50 US for the 1/2 mile journey) Cushions on the lounge chairs were old, thin and uncomfortable. Like most hotels along the ocean there really isn't a beach so swimming is off a pier. The hotel's pier had no ladder to climb out of the water so you have to use the neighboring hotel's pier if you want to go swimming

The room was OK. But I got hit in the head by a beach umbrella that came dislodged from the base after a strong wind came out of nowhere and blew the umbrella up and out. It was painful and gave me whiplash. A worker was already out there at the time didn’t act like it was a big deal and got the umbrella. Put it back in the stand. He did not say anything to management. shortly later, I went to the room because I was in pain wanted to get some Advil and I saw a maid that was coming into my room to change the linens, etc. she clearly could tell I was upset and went to the manager. The manager didn’t seem that he cared too much and the next day brought me a bottle of wine when he realized that I really hadn’t been doing much but staying in my room And I was clearly not happy.
I would never stay there again.

The room was very clean and spacious for a hotel room. We could walk to the pool or beach in about a minute, with many restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk. The hotel also offers great amenities like a spa, restaurant and golf cart rentals, plus the concierge can set up tours for guests. The room has a coffee maker, small fridge and some silverwear and glasses, which were helpful. It was quiet and felt private.

The room was great. Breakfast was non existent. With more than 4 people there they had to move the order tome out to 45 min.
The concierge was very limited in knowledge. Was not helpful for finding stuff. They have no food from 11am 6pm. Their resturaunt fills up quick. So if you don't have reservations, your on your own. They do not tell you about other great resturaunts within walking distance.

We had a great stay at Bananas on the Beach! Staff was friendly, room was clean, and they had a good breakfast. Let's not forget about how comfortable the beds were! Wish we could take that mattress topper home. Booking a golf cart and a snorkel tour through the hotel was so smooth. We'll definitely stay here again when we return to Belize.

We’ve stayed here twice now and both times have been great. Ocean front suite and a room on the second floor facing the residences both were perfect in their own way. The only thing that didn’t sit well with me is I left a tip on the pillow one morning and came back to the same room no bed made and the money was gone. No big deal it was &10 U.S. Eddie in security is always great and a smile to welcome anyone. The ladies at the front desk are very accommodating and helpful.

The room was nice, it had a kitchenette and items you need to do some cooking if you are trying to save money by not eating out. We requested that they pull the couch out for a third that was staying in our room. I asked for blankets and pillows for it, took a few hours to get them. The housekeeping lady was nice and finally brought the blankets and pillows. Apparently they had run out? We happened to be sitting at the pool on Day two of our trip to find the maintenance man trying to get in with a tv. We asked him what he was dojnf. He said there was something wrong with one of the TVs. I said there wasn't but he still changed it. Then that evening Netflix and all the apps were gone! The bar closes so early, 6pm. The closest restaurant that I believe they say is part of the hotel is super expensive and required reservations. The restaurant was very accommodating though and fit us in to a last minute table for 3. Also, the restaurant is super fancy, we were very underdressed. The pools were cold. This says \"on the beach\" and it is on the beach. However it is not a beach you can swim at. There is a chanel directly in front with a retaining wall. There was no shower curtain. The staff were nice. We did get hustled by the transportation service that they arranged. We paid him cash and then they charged us for it again at the end of the stay and said we never paid him. I was over it at that point and chalked it up to a lesson learned.

The property was nice. The pools are very clean and gave it an elegant appearence. I didn't use them because I was out but I like the option. My room was very spacious which is rare. The shower was nice with a river rock bottom. Bed super comfortable. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Im glad I stayed a lil off the strip bc the golf cart fumes, traffic and busy downtown are a little much. I used a taxi for rides it was convenient and affordable and 10 mins or so each way (with the golf cart traffic). Holiday decor was beautifully done at the hotel. I would stay there again.
