The hotel was a great value with the property right on the port. The staff were very friendly and responsive. We couldn’t really see the ocean from our rooms, but we were close. The “beach” was really the boat docks. The hotel paired with Star Tours for all snorkeling adventures which is nice.

Staff was very courteous and helpful. The room had a refrigerator and a small coffee maker but coffee was only provided for the first day. Drinking water was available from a bottle near the room. The room was spartan but clean and the A/C worked well. The location was convenient and walkable to everything. The rooms are not handicapped friendly. The nearby beach is not swimable but the pool is nice. We stayed a week and would return.

This is my second stay here this year- the rooms need improvement- air works sometimes- no safes in the rooms. Disappointed that the pool was closed for 2 days and the pool bar never opened in the 4 days we were there. Front desk staff not friendly and need to provide a blanket on the bed not just a sheet. Henry is the o key reason we returned but will not stay again

Tropical Paradise Hotel – Caye Caulker Review
We just returned from a trip to Caye Caulker Island, where we stayed at the Tropical Paradise Hotel. Overall, our stay was good, but there were a few areas that could use improvement.
Housekeeping was inconsistent. If we didn’t specifically request our room to be cleaned, it didn’t get done. We also asked for a king bed but were given two double beds instead, which was a bit tight and uncomfortable for my wife and me.
That said, it’s not a bad hotel for the money. The absolute best part of our stay was Mrs. B, who sells tours on the beach. She was fantastic, and the guys who took us out snorkeling were excellent—truly the highlight of our trip. There are many tour options on the island, but our experience with them was top-notch.
Some of the hotel staff seemed to have an “OK, we’ll get to it” attitude, and a couple of our requests were forgotten altogether. I understand island life moves at a slower pace, but it was still noticeable. The young man running the restaurant in the mornings also lacked enthusiasm, which didn’t make for the best start to the day.
Overall, it wasn’t a bad stay, but I’m not sure we would choose to stay here again.

We’d paid for a room with a balcony but given room 15 which means you’re effectively poolside with zero privacy and therefore need to keeps the curtains closed. The pool was supposed to have a swim up bar which didn’t look like it’d been open for a good while. All of which we could get over…if we didn’t have no hot water on day 1 (and even after it was fixed we just had the joys of a luke warm drip shower) and no actual running water (!) on day 2. Informed a disinterested receptionist to receive a “oh yes another room complained about that…” umm. They’d also told us they clean the rooms everyday, which they didn’t. And I’d go as far as to say it was probably the most uncomfortable/creaky bed we’ve slept (or not slept) in.

Anyways…it’s a decent location at the end of the Main Street but all in all, it’s a tired hotel in need of some TLC, should be about half the price…and they need to sort the plumbing out. We absolutely loved Caye Caulker and would be keen to come back, just not here.

We booked 3 nights through our tour company, G Adventures. We had a much nicer room (#16) than other members of our group, as we faced the ocean and had a fridge (other rooms had major water leaks from the ceiling, faulty A/C, and ants). Unfortunately, we learned once we arrived that our one-night extended stay had been lost and we would need to pay for another night. We also learned that #16 wasn't available and we'd need to move rooms. On the morning of the move, we were told they couldn't check us into our new room (#6) until 3pm. This left us in limbo, unable to enjoy our last morning/afternoon on Caye Caulker without having a home base to shower/rest in. We were told that housekeeping would be unable to clean #6 until 3pm (but the previous occupant had checked out at 7:30am; she was a member of our group). After spending hundreds of dollars, having our reservation lost, bring forced to change rooms, and being forced to check out/check in all over again (and pay another damage deposit), you might say that this left us feeling very disappointed and stressed on what should've been the last restful day of our vacation. Management was consulted and they also refused to accommodate. Had we known this, we would've booked elsewhere for our final night.

I personally liked the place. I felt like we were in a great location because we were kind of at the end of the main street. The walk to get to the split was easy and enjoyable. The hotel staff was pretty good at attending to your needs. The cleaning lady was excellent! She did more than I expected in my room. The check-in process was easy as well as the checkout process. They constantly kept the grounds looking great! They did have an issue with the Paul while we were there, but they were working to fix it. If you think that this has a beach that you can go swimming in, it is not like that but, in their defense, I didn’t see any places really like that on this island. It was a great place to visit, but if you were used to Crystal Clearwaters, you really will not find it here so much. Henry, who worked as a travel agent of sorts for the hotel, was very helpful in helping to plan excursions, getting taxicab rentals, and everything else that you could imagine. Like I said, I enjoyed it very much And think that they did an amazing job. It is nothing fancy at all, but you’re here to have a good time and sleep, and it offers all of that. Added bonus, they do have a restaurant directly on the property. And, they are extremely close to a fun bar. Of course, all of the bars are very close as well. Although I did not go, everyone was talking about the two nightclubs that were fun and they were literally right by our place.

The Staff was fantastic! Extremely helpful. The cottage was perfect for our stay in Caye Caulker with one exception... the bed was a kin to sleeping on plywood with a comforter for mattress. That is the ONLY con to staying at Tropical Paradise. A more comfortable bed and we would have no complaints. Henry and the rest of the Staff including the restaurant on the property are the reasons we wouldn't hesitate to come back.

We got a cheaper room, and it was still very clean! Took me a couple days to get used to the hard mattress...lol. Staff was absolutely amazing! They were all very kind and very accommodating to us! Henry, the guy on the beach side that plans excursions for tourists is amazing! He works very hard to make sure each excursion is your best experience! We did an all day snorkel excursion that was so awesome! Oliver was our snorkeling guide and he did an amazing job at making sure we saw everything! He is so informative! We will most definitely stay again and have Henry book all of our excursions! We love Belize! And Caye Caulker is our favorite place!

Overall, great trip, loved Caye Caulker!

The pool was being worked on throughout our entire stay (9 days). We were compensated with 2 measly free breakfasts. When we asked for more coffee pods for our room, we were told each cost $3. "Henry" made up for any disappointments. He arranged for our snorkel excursion, which was the highlight of our trip! I paddle boarded on the paddle board that was provided. And even though it rained all but one day, we like the rain, we're from the hot desert of Phoenix, Arizona, USA.

Very convenient location. But the pictures posted aren’t showing the actual property as it is. Room is outdated and not clean. Rooms booked from Air BNB are different than what posted on other platforms. I can say so much more, but I enjoy and rather support Belize owned establishments and wish the best. Since two years ago the property has very much gone down tremendously!!!! The rooms are very out dates and the beds was absolutely horrible! The bathroom was horrible as well we had to throw all paper in trash cans ! The pool was such a disappointment it was not clean at all the tile was coming off and mold all around the edges ! The pool bar was not open but for a few minutes or and hour not every day ! We stayed a week this time as well. The door to the rooms you could literally see daylight through both sides. I am very very disappointed in that. The office staff was rude and acted like we was a burden to them. The ones that was the the very very best is Daine restaurant staff and house keeper Angie. And of course Henry the tour manager! Other than that I have not one good thing to say positive.

Unfortunately, there was a lot of sargassum during our stay and the dock and boats there trap it and the smell was strong. We knew that might be the case and it was, but thats a bigger problem all around. A good base camp but perhaps not a place to linger during peak sargassum.

Stayed in a double room. Payed $7.50 USD extra per day for a small fridge (requested ahead of time) and felt it was worth it. View was good. Enjoyed an ocean breeze but shared deck limited the use in my opinion. Never ate at the restaurant. They did rent out bikes but you get a better deal if you go a little further down the street (keep for 24 hours for slightly less $, instead of returning at 8pm). Kind of bummed pool closed at 9pm. No one really was around to serve you in the pool bar but it was cheaper to go buy some rum and juice at the grocery just 1/2 block a way so never really bothered me. There’s a lively bar just next door if that’s your thing but they shut down by 12 every night so no bother there. Walking distance to everything but a bike is nice if you’re going to the split and a must for the north island. You can walk from the Dewey dock. Our highlight was fishing off the pier at night, security guard was fine with it. Brought our own poles, bought local sardines, caught and released tarpon, bonefish, all sorts of snapper, etc… I would definitely stay again! Location, fishing, pool, price. This is why you stay here. Not luxury but a great vibe if that’s what you’re looking for.

The property is under New Management, this is the third time I've stayed there in 2 years.
If you've been there in the past do not expect the same experience. The manager is extremely lazy on a 6-night stay I saw him do nothing but grimace at people and be un-friendly. The security guard you can say hello to but he will not respond, extremely unfriendly. The office staff rolls their eyes and does not offer any assistance.
The people that do the work around there are the housekeeping and grounds team. Hector was the saving grace of the stay. If you need anything from a towel or directions ask grounds and housekeeping. The office is pathetic. There's a coffee machine in the room but you have to buy cups and coffee to use it, not included with your stay.
They have a big sargasm problem, the beach smells, omitting a poisonous gas as it decomposes. So it being located on the water with a big dock going out into the ocean is useless, unless you want to get coated in toxins from the sargasm.

$58 for a semi local people to stay here, from nearby countries & this country.
If you're from the US you get the "American discount", you will pay more, you will be changed a little over $100 in total per night.
You get the same discount at most places in the cayes.(San Pedro & Caye Caulker)
if you don't see a price is because of the double standard in pricing.. Be ready to haggle on everything from meals, excursions & souvenirs.1st world prices, 3rd world experience.

We stayed here during low season in June. The hotel was very clean, quiet, and everyone was helpful/friendly. Staff switched out our safe because it didn't work. The pool was nice. The room was actually a little cabana and the A/C worked well. There was a swim-up bar open in the pool in the afternoons.

And they had Henry. He works for Star Tours (across the street from the hotel) and while we didn't take a snorkel tour this trip, I'm pretty sure we will when we come back. He recommended the hotel, helped us get a golf cart, and suggested several things to see and do on the island and across the channel on the North island too.

Wonderful, relaxing, beautiful island. 100% would come here again. Thank you all!

The worse front desk staff ever. I wanted to stay an extra night and went to front desk to pay and was told I had to do it online which I did. The next day I had to check out and wait 3 hours to check into another room. Asked for a Manager and he told me OH Well. So I had to sit outside in the hot sun with no water or even sorry. What happen to customer service? If I was the owner, I would really check on how the staff treats the guest.

Messages to Locals: this would not be the place for you. Front desk does not have the best customer service for locals, when going to property pool there are wrist bands given to locals only so they can identify who are going into the pool or not. None is given to the tourists just Belizeans. So they can monitor you if you. Lets say there are guests

Simple, clean cabin with comfortable beds, good AC, good lighting, functional and clean bathroom, a safe in the room, hot water, a fridge and coffee maker. The staff let me use their water cooker.
Friendly and helpful staff for questions about the island and tours. Great pool and great location at the end of the main strip, so close to everything. Towels available for the pool area.
Bring or buy your own water. We would definitely stay here again.

Pool area had a nice breeze. Pool loungers are very uncomfortable with no cushions. No fridge in room as shown in photo but was able to "rent" one for extra $. Location was good, centralized. Staff was friendly. Door to room had large gap at bottom & needed other repairs. No place to put/keep toiletries in shower. Floor transition from room to bathroom was not level & could cause injury - need threshold installed. Air con worked great.

The hotel run excursions too, which was a huge bonus and the snorkelling trip was absolutely fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed it and I would definitely recommend. Very pleased with our stay here.

We enjoyed the property. The pool and swim up were great. The rooms were clean and we had warm showers. The service at the restaurant was slow. We liked the location and the island its self if very walkable. We weren't able to get a refund for the one night we missed due to circumstances beyond our control (flight delayed). The staff were helpful but a HUGE shoutout to Brian and Henry. They both were amazing and really are the ones who made our stay memorable! Not only did Henry help plan our activities in Caye Caulker but helped us out for our trip to South Belize!

It was a little noisy had a spring break feel outside of the property - but that's what I would expect since we went during spring break - the north side of the caye caulker is more quite. This is walking distance to restarants, stores and the dive center. Friendly staff.

Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Henry was great at guest services.i feel the rooms could have been much nicer with new bedding and better pillows. The sheets were brown and the quilt I used was thin and worn. Some bright white sheets and a colourful quilt would make a word of difference. Location was great and overall we had a lovely holiday.

I was a bit disappointed with Tropical Paradise this time. The exterior is in great condition but the rooms need upgraded. We were there for 5 days. Didn’t have hot water for 2 days, our ceiling fan didn’t work and the lights above the beds are old and not working. The pool, bar and restaurant were great.

The hotel over sold and double booked their rooms. We were not notified. The property looks nothing like the pictures. It is old and run down. I do not recommend at all for any reason. There are too many other great places on the island.

The rooms were alright, property very clean, and amenities were well maintained. My main issue is they will not let you bring guests into property which was never stated upon booking or check in, and as I was visiting a friend I would have chosen to stay elsewhere.

Right on the beach and we had our own little hut right by the pool. It was perfect and we loved it. AC in the room, coffee maker, full bathroom, fridge and microwave. Our towels were made into swans in a heart shape when we got there too. Staff was so friendly and helpful.

We were able to check in early which was super helpful. I felt this is nice for a short stay, the beds aren’t super comfortable and the walls are thin, but over all as long as you’re not looking for something super fancy and just a home base to keep your things this is the place for you. The nicest thing was the jacuzzi tub in our room.

The location is amazing, nice views, and at the end of main road into town. So its quiet, but easy walk up the main drag past reasturants and markets or along the lovely beach trail. Pool was terrific, staff was wonderful and responsive to needs, and the bikes were great to ride to Bliss Beach!
Its not "new" or perfect...ceiling fan and one light fixture didn't work. But safe, friendly and we would gladly return!

Great pool, shabby rooms.

The pool area is clean and great. Staff are friendly and were willing to help with anything we wanted or needed. For example, when we arrived there was no safe in our room. As soon as we brought it to attention of the staff, the maintenance staff were there with a brand new one and had it installed in a few minutes. The cabanas are tired, especially ours, and extremely basic. We had wood floors and the most horrible bedding. Room service only happens if you ask. The staff did not have a key for our room so couldn’t get in unless we were there with our key! Overall, not more than a 2*. Location, price and pool area make up for the shabbiness of rooms.

The best thing about our stay were the staff who take so much pride in making you feel welcome. We received exceptional service from the minute we arrived to the moment we left. Ellis is a star and was so kind and generous sharing his knowledge of fishing with my son and where the locals shop. Angie took care of our room and showed me where to go for fun evening activities and looked out for me. Henry will help you find any activity you want to do in Belize, he is your one stop shop for fishing, snorkeling, kayaking, diving and everything else Belize has to offer. Andrej and Dane also made us feel so very welcome. We arrived as guests and left as friends with memories to last a lifetime thanks to these beautiful people. Also, the pool and view were spectacular.

Only thing is I left a tip for the housekeeper and the front desk man went to check the room. I had forgotten something and when I went back had had taken over 2/3 of the tip. So if you want to to tip the maid tip her personally.

Did not get the room we paid for. Beds were hard and squeaking every time you moved. blankets were old and horrible, scratchy. Toilet did not work. No hot water to shower. Everything is old and worn. Promised pool bar that was never open even on NYE.
