one of my best stays in Peru so far

I’m a solo traveler. The service is awesome. They tried hard to satisfied what you need and helped you from the bottom of the hearts. I felt like it was home when I came back from the town near Machu Picchu. I would say that’s one of the best hotels I had stayed so far in Peru. One disadvantage of it is the location, a bit far from the main plaza, however taxi is cheaper here, so it would bother much if the service is good.

Budget hotel in Cusco

Really a budget option with basic facilities. Friendly stuff, rather clean room. It requires a taxi to get to the city center. Location is really sad but safe. Breakfast is available and it looks ok, but it made me sick every time I had it.

Good Hotel Close to Cusco Historic District

Las Quenas is a great hotel a bit off the beaten track in a less touristy area of Cusco, but still within easy walking distance of the Plaza de Armas and other attractions. The road outside of the hotel is currently being renovated but it wasn’t too tough to navigate.

Good breakfast, great staff, excellent shower. Hotel is 15 minutes walking from plaza de armas. The street it is on and the surrounding streets are under construction currently (january 2020). The hotel will call a taxi for you if needed, and proximity to a main avenue makes getting to the bus train or airport easy

We were not lucky with room allocation and this is what we're reviewing. We've got ground floor room just behind reception. No windows outside. We were separated from the hall way by a thin glass. Same glass separated us from another room. Whatever we did in the bathroom could be heard in whole breakfast and reception area. Hope they enjoyed it. Whoever switched on the light in the corridor at 2 am would wake us up. The same with the noise: we were a part of every conversation in the corridor. It may be a nice place to stay but not in our room. Worst hotel we've used in Latin America so far. Our advise is to avoid it

Great value, convenient location, would recommend

My husband and I had a wonderful stay here. Great service, clean room, strong showerhead pressure, convenient location, tasty breakfast with cooked-to-order eggs. The breakfast area and reception area were also very clean. One of the receptionists, Mirian, was super helpful and went above and beyond to help us make multiple phone calls over a couple days to our taxi driver so he could return a hoodie which we accidentally left in the trunk!

Best deal for the price.

This is a great hotel for the price. It is away from the touristy spots but that's just a quick 7 sol taxi ride to the plaza de armas. The hotel itself is fantastic. The hotel employees are very helpful and tend to your every need. Their free breakfast is delicious. Now for the room itself, it's fairly small and the bed takes up much of the room, but it is clean. There is no heating and air conditioning, but there is a small plug in heater in the room and we used it at night to help warm the room up. The front desk called taxi's for us and even had a taxi ready for us on the morning of our departure to the airport. All you need to do is let them know what time you want to leave by. All in all, a great hotel to stay at and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel staff was such a pleasure. The front desk clerk recommended one of the best restaurants for dinner...thank you! Taxi transportation to and from was happily organized for us. Great breakfast options and really clean hotel. Wish we had stayed longer.

Decent Option Between Pricey and Hostel

The rooms are very nice, the beds relaxing (though a little hard for my preference), and the showers extremely spacious with deliciously warm water. This last part was most important to me when my husband and I returned from our Ancascocha Trail trek to Machu Picchu. Though the front desk employees struggle a bit with English, they were more than helpful and tried their best to understand our needs and requests. The location is also decent, though there are not too many places to eat nearby (unless you are craving local pollo with a variety of fried starches). It takes about 15 minutes to walk to downtown Cusco. You do have to travel through some very pungent (and sometimes dirty-looking) marketplaces on your way to downtown. We were fine with this, but some days the smell could be a little overwhelming. If you are struggling with altitude sickness, this can definitely exacerbate the problem. The breakfast selection was also decent--buffet-style with eggs to order. If you are looking for something between insanely-priced downtown Cusco hotels and cheap and smelly hostels, Hotel Las Quenas might be a good choice for you.
By the way, in the description of this hotel a winery is mentioned. However, there is no winery on site (from what I could see) and the front desk had no clue what I was talking about when I asked.

Great place to stay. Wherever you go in Cusco there is dirt and these guys work real hard at keeping their place really clean. Everyone was super helpful, respectful and kind. Rooms are tight but clean and cozy. We had one cold night but the area heater helped a lot. Rooms, beds, linens felt brand new. Place was very clean. My only complaint: they need a soap/shampu tray in the shower (we used the window) and more hangers in the bathroom for hand towels and towels. Hotel knows and will recommend good guides and taxi services. Hotel laundry service is too expensive (9soles/kg), there is a cheaper place around the block for half the price. Cheap eateries, atm, fruit shops nearby. San Pedro market 3 blocks away for souvenirs and eateries.

Tiny room with something gooey on the comforter

We looked at the ratings before booking and think there is a discrepancy...although the staff was nice we left after one night (we booked a three night stay). There was something gooey on the comforter, as well as some dirt. The \"family\" room was so narrow two people couldn't pass between the beds and the wall without one person having to jump on the bed. The bathroom was so small it was difficult to have two people in at the same time.

The continental breakfast was great - they cooked fresh eggs for you per-order for free. The front desk is also great in helping you get a taxi to anywhere you might need to go and help get you a good price for the ride (as with taxis anywhere internationally, they will try to charge tourists much higher rates). Though the street the hotel is located on is quite dilapidated and the sign indicating the hotel isn't overtly obvious, it is safe, clean, and nice inside.

Staff was very accommodating and helpful. The breakfast was both wonderful and plentiful. They were very helpful with the challenge of the street construction around them. Our bed had lovely rose heart on it when we checked in. And the bed was VERY comfortable. The WIFI is a bit challenging as it is slow but I think it is just part of being in a large city in Peru.

We had a sewer smell in our room although the toilet flushed normally and when we returned to the hotel one day, our room had been left unlocked after being refreshed. All our belongings were fine though and we had a computer in the room. Thanks for a wonderful place to rest in Cusco.

Not as service oriented as previous travelers seem to have found the hotel to be...I originally booked two nights, called the hotel to cancel the first night because I didn't need it anymore, and they confirmed. Upon check-in, they merely mentioned the receptionist had \"no authority\" to cancel, and demanded I pay the two nights. Communicating with the manager was no help as he refused to take responsibility for his employee's mistake. My room also pathetically did not have full walls; there were windows that connected to the outside stairwell/lobby, and the noise was very pervasive. The only redeeming part was the employee Luis' service.

Excellent Hotel Slightly Off the Beaten Path

This was my favorite hotel in all of Peru. It's facilities are very new and modern and all of the staff are wonderful. We booked this hotel the night before because we learned that our flight to La Paz had been cancelled, but they easily accommodated us. Because of vacancies, they were able to give us 2 separate rooms instead of the triple twin room we had originally booked. The rooms were actually well designed with power sockets on both sides of the bed and very comfortable beds as well as a desk and super modern bathroom. In addition, their hot water was wonderful. The wifi works well in the lounge; however, in my room it was slightly hit or miss since my room was on the edge of the hotel. The only thing I wish they would improve would be the breakfast. The other guesthouses in Peru I had stayed at had better breakfasts, but that is about it. The location of the hotel was initially hard to find because they were doing construction of the roads, but it should be done by the time you read this review. Finally, this hotel is located in an actual neighborhood in Cusco, so you'll be able to witness how Peruvians actually live on the walk to and from the Old Cusco Historical Center through their markets. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cusco as I don't think any other hotel is a better value for your money.

Wonderful hotel in Cusco

We were warmly greeted when we arrived and check in was easy. The hotel is a short 15-20 minute walk to the main square in Cusco, or a $1-2USD uber/cab ride. It's in a less touristy part of town which I really appreciated and it made the walk to the square more colorful. The hotel Manager, Dan, was EXTREMELY helpful. He sat with us for about 15 minutes to go over a map of Cusco and took the time to give us tips and insights about the town. The rooms were nice and clean and the hotel breakfast was delicious. I would love to stay here again, everything was fantastic.

Value for money hotel with amazing staff!

I stayed in hotel Las Quenas in July 2018 for 4 nights as a solo traveller. The hotel is new and clean and the price is very reasonable for what you get. They allow early check in if the room is available.

The staff/ owner were very nice and helpful. Dan the manager spent time with me (and all the other new guests) giving information about Cusco and Peru in general. This helped a lot in my travel plans as its my first time in South America. There is a also 24hr reception that could call taxi for you which is very handy for early morning tours.

I am happy i stayed with them and would not hesitate to be back. Thanks a lot!

Excelente atendimento da equipe do hotel, em especial ao Luis Miguel que sempre estava a disposição para nos ajudar, atencioso e simpático. Resolveu 100% do que precisávamos. Hotel novo, um pouco afastado, com obras nas ruas próximas que atrapalharam um pouco mas quando estiverem prontas vai melhorar o acesso.

Rimelig og greit hotell med blide og serviceinnstilte medarbeidere i Cusco. Kontinental frokost. Det eneste å sette fingeren på var problem med å få fjernsynet til å virke, og at hotellet ligger litt utenfor sentrum. Ingen problem å få tak i drosje, som er greit og rimelig. Veiarbeid i gata utenfor da vi var der.

Todo lo del hotel puntuación completa! Muy amables, servicio de guarda equipaje, desayuno rico y variado. A 20 min caminando a la plaza pero tiene servicios de taxi accesibles. El único pero fue que estaban reparando la calle de afuera y los vehículos no llegaban hasta fuera del hotel, pero era un factor externo.
