I was traveling with a group, and two of us made reservations at the San Agustin El Dorado through Expedia. During our check in on 3/14, the woman at the front dest was dismissive and rude, particularly to a friend checking-in alongside of me. She was unable to locate my friend's reservation despite our providing confirmation emails/codes from Expedia. She eventually provided a room key, and we thought it was resolved. The next evening however, we returned from a day hike to find my friend's room door completely open with her belongings exposed to the hallway. These concerns were immediately dismissed by the same front desk woman, who continued to harass my friend about being unable to locate the reservation, demanding additional payment for the room. My friend had to spend the last two days of our trip trying to work things out between the woman and Expedia. Eventually a different front desk clerk was present and was able to resolve the issue and find record of my friends reservation, which should have been the end of it. However upon check out, the front desk woman was back on shift and demanded my friend to pay the full room rate before she could leave (despite email receipt confirming that she had already paid). Not knowing what else to do and needing to get to the airport, my friend paid again for the room, and the woman had the audacity to sign for the charge herself. Appalling service from that woman overall. I wish I had her name but she was not wearing a name tag.

Rooms are very outdated. I've stayed her twice and on both occasions, I specifically requested a double bed room because I have chronic pain and have found that a double bed allows me to get into a more comfortable position. However, on both occasions I got a twin room.

From the beginning you can feel very comfortable with the friendly staff at the front desk . Also, the breakfast is amazing from 4 AM to 10:00AM. ( it offers from juices and yogurt until eggs, and other hot options) Rooms are very clean and you can request every day cleaning . But one of my best reason to give an excellent review is the location . This hotel is located 3 blocks away from Downtown Cusco where is the Plaza and many restaurants and artesanal stores and other places you can visit . I highly recommended this 4 stars hotel .

Rooms are loud that face the road

The location is great, the beds are not high quality and the one we had was hard, as well the pillows were not helpful either. When we arrived, the elevator wasn’t working so it was difficult to get the luggage to the third floor. When we entered the room, the safe and the television were not working. They came and fixed the safe, by putting in a reset code that allowed them to open the safe easily which did not assure us if the safety of using the safe. The individual did not know how to fix the television. Without AC we had to leave the windows open, which is fine unless you are in the front of the hotel which faces the road. It was very noisy and sleep was not easy to do. We ended up only staying one night of the two nights we paid for because our tours started around 4am and we needed to sleep. Between the noise and the low quality of the beds, sleep was difficult at best. The building was interesting and the location was great. Hope this is helpful information.

Pros: Nice hotel, 4 star though looks more like 3-3.5 star.
Convenient location for walking in the town but it is also a disadvantage as mentioned in cons.

Good breakfast, starts early in the morning

Cons: Biggest disadvantage of the hotel it that it is on the main road. At night it is difficult to sleep with ambulances and police vans passing on the road with the sirens

This place hotel was okay, a bit nosey because the hotel is built like a courtyard circle layout so our hotel window was faceing the courtyard and allthough we were on the 3rd floor you could hear people checking out and in and tour guides talking to there clients and stuff. Great view but not worth the noise. Kinda clean and our sheets had short black hairs. Did love that they had 2 computers to use for free.

Beautiful hotel in Cusco

Really lovely hotel situated just a few mins walk from the main square in Cusco. The rooms were comfortable, nice big beds, and I loved that there is a conscious effort made by the hotel to be more eco friendly. This can be seen by the filtered water they provide, through to removing unnecessary plastics in the bathrooms. Really great to see a hotel acting responsibly to save our planet. Staff were friendly, check in was nice and easy and the hotel have a great laundry service that is reasonably priced (and same day) and an added bonus of a hot water bottle to warm the bed in the evening!

A must stay in Cusco.

It is a great hotel, with very friendly staff and in a great location. The first night we stayed in a room with no outside window, only a window which opened to the lobby downstairs. It was very noisy and stuffy, no fresh air or AC. The second night we changed to a room with an outside window and it was wonderful.

Good choice for Cusco

The hotel is in a great location, only a couple of blocks from the main square. The room was large and comfy and had a tub/shower combo. Shampoo, conditioner, hairdryer and other hygiene items were available for use. The complimentary breakfast was good! They let us have a late checkout (3pm) for a nominal fee.

Great hotel. The breakfast is good and they start it early enough you can eat before the super early trip departures and they store your bags! The restaurant is good and the room service is open late, helpful after a long day out and about. It is a little noisy, like most peru hotel so bring ear plugs.

Great part of the city!

While this was a business trip, it was nice being close to the center of the city so after work I could go for an evening walk around town. A lot of great shops and restaurants within a 10 minute walk.

The bed was actually two twin beds pushed together, not a queen or full as advertised, and the sheets weren’t comfortable/soft. The breakfast options were limited. However, the employees were very kind and attentive. Additionally, location was ideal for walking in and around the historic part of Cusco.

Lovely service. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Rooms clean and comfortable! It was very loud however - mainly from other guests coming and going in the early morning hours. I believe the courtyard in the middle of the hotel is the cause of the noise issue as it’s a lack of sound barrier.

We stayed here the nights before and after our Inca Trail trek, so our priority in booking was for comfort and quiet. PROS: both rooms were very clean, hotel stored our luggage for 5 days during our trek, beds were comfy, check-out time is 10 am CONS: hotel staff were not very friendly, we had a different room service menu in each of the two rooms, we went to the restaurant in the hotel to get dinner and waited 15 minutes but no one from the staff came to seat us (and the front desk staff could clearly see we were waiting), hotel does not make change, many power outlets in the room did not work, and both rooms we got were right next to the main elevator and the open courtyard space so we heard EVERYTHING happening in the lobby. I would not return.

Located close to the Plaza de Armas which is the center for tourist made this hotel a winner. We were able to easily walk to the plaza, San Blas neighborhood, and San Pedro market. Staff speaks excellent English which was nice since our Spanish is not the best. We did not eat at the restaurant but there is one and there is also room service.

Really great hotel in prime location near historic town center. We found the beds to be fairly hard and staff said that all the beds were that way so they couldn't change us for a different mattress. Threw a few extra blankets under the bottom sheet and was much better

The hotel needs updates. It’s not quiet, you can hear everything from the courtyard. The bedding is old and uncomfortable. There is no good way to control the temperature of the room. Breakfast was average and the hot items were like warm at best. The hair dryer broke in our room and it took the staff over an hour to bring another one. By that time, my hair was dry.

Conveniently located in the center of Cusco with a short walk to tourist sites and restaurants. Included breakfast buffet was very good with wide variety of cold and hot items. Reception staff were very helpful with information about restaurants and local attractions.
Internet access was pitiful in the rooms and though the two business office computers in the lobby generally had consistent internet access they were running on Windows XP Pro which left some functionality problems. My LG tablet could generally get on the internet but neither my cell phone or my (powerful) laptop was ever able to connect to the internet in the three days I was at the hotel. There was no comfortable seating in the rooms.

beware of the assigned room

i stayed at this hotel on two different occasions. the first one was after i arrived from lima. i was assigned to room 312 and the room was very well maintained and clean. the second occasion was after i arrived back from machu pichu. i got room 512 which was on the top floor away from the loud noise i could hear from the lobby (if the window facing the hotel lobby was opened you can hear everything from the main lobby). however room 512 was in a very bad shape. there were smudges on the wall and near the bed. the room smelled like urination, the shower curtain was torn and put together by duct tape and the toilet paper holder was broken.

nonetheless, it was in a great location. it was located on the main street (avenue del sol) in cusco city center. it was a few minutes to the main square, restaurants and supermarket. it was actually close to everything. there was a cafe with delicious bake goods next to the hotel.

This hotel is not really four stars. When compared with the other four stars we stayed around Peru, it doesn't even come close. I would give it three stars. Breakfast was not very good and the internet is very slow in the rooms. Actually they told us at check in time, which makes you wonder if they know it, why don't they fix it? Toiletries are rather cheap and décor is very rustic. The only good thing I can say is that the location is very good, as it is a 10 minute walk from Plaza de Armas.

This hotel is very close to the citi of Cusco and there are lots of places to visit walking distance including, exchange booths, restaurants, shopping, etc. The hotel itself was good and worth the stay. Staff was very friendly and we did not lose anything while we were there. I would stay here again.

Very happy and quality above expectation. If I ever go to Cusco again I will stay in the same place. Location formidable as well. Good services, fast internet, value restaurant, great breakfast. They prepared breakfast for us at 3:30am since we were going to be picked up by the Agency at 4:00am for our Machu Picchu trip. Where they do something like that?

Good location and LOUD!

Although conveniently located within a couple of blocks of the Plaza de Armas, this hotel is noisy. From the noise of elevators, to people in the courtyard, to the in room mini-fridge, it is loud! We had to turn off the mini-fridge just to be able to sleep. Also, as a warning, if you are planning to stay over the summer months you should reconsider, there is no AC...and, there is not question about it, it will get hot! The included breakfast was fine, but not great.

This hotel is in a good location near the main square. The room is fine, though noisy at night if your room is on the main road, would be better to request one on the other side of hotel. On our last night, we called reception to unblock the toilet, but no one ever turned up.
Otherwise staff were friendly and we could leave our bags at the hotel after checkout.
