The staff were very nice. They let me have an early check in and a late check out. The only thing I think can be improved is the lighting in the rooms: There is only one central light and the room is very dim at night. They could do with a desk light on the table. They could also do with a light above the chair and coffee table for reading.

Beach was beautiful, seaweed was annoying but wasn’t a show stopper, dinners were ok, the best place for us was sails and tails (mostly grilled main courses). The cottages were large we had a great view of the cove and beach, they were very clean and had daily housecleaning. The staff was absolutely wonderful they were always very professional and friendly with a warm greeting.
The only criticism I have is the cottages might need a little TLC but as is were perfectly acceptable.

It is a stunning property with amazing people there. The food is average if not below average in some ways, the drinks are inconsistent. Some bartenders make them one way others make them different. Rooms are in desperate need of upgrades. Our bathroom door handle fell off every time we opened the bathroom door, easy to put back on but still quite annoying. Beds are fine- little hard and the sheets/comforter is very thin. Definitely need more than 1 blanket to be brought the to room. But, it’s for AC that works well and the waterfront view is gorgeous. Overall we loved our time in Antigua. Long Bay Beach is a 3 min walk which is fantastic.

Our room had an awesome view and we were able to sit on our deck each morning and drink coffee...Loved it. I really wish the staff was more accommodating. We had to go up to the bar for each drink and often times we took back our dirty dishes. I thought this was \"all inclusive\" and we Americans love to be waited on. (Tips were given out accordingly.) Food was very good but not a lot of choices. Pizza could have been delivered to the pool. And we waited close to an hour for a person to let us in our room after locking our key inside. Just wish there was more customer service.

Great view from room but the problem is that if you have to go to the front of the resort it is a long up and down walk when it is hot. You can call for a ride but expect 30 minute wait for it. The other problem is beach towels they are always out in the storage places at the beach and the pool, we were told that it was a slow week, so one would think that this would not be a problem. We had a snorkeling excursion we called for a ride 30 minutes early and at that time we told them we would need towels for it. Was told no problem, the excursion van was 15 minutes late so they had 45 minutes to round up beach towels we had to wait another 5 minutes for towels
They were warm fresh out of dryer. The good side was nice little duplexes , great food , good drinks, and very friendly help. Management just needs to step up buy more beach towels and put more cart drivers on , you shouldn’t have to wait more than 10 minutes for a ride

Some things that our group disliked. Calling for transportation around the resort, no one would show up unless you called several times. For not being a busy week, you would think that it wouldn’t be a problem.
The second complaint we had was that there was never any swim towels available any day of our stay, very disappointing.
Finally there was some great staff and some that felt that customers were not their priority.
Would not return.

Mixed feelings about this place. The grounds are gorgeous but you have to walk or wait a little for the golf carts, they don't always make their rounds at the bus stops, so you have to walk if you want to get somewhere fast. They will come to your room if you call them. The food was OK, I feel for the price you paid you should get a better selection. There is no a buffet at lunch, the lunch choices offered at the restaurants are just OK. Most servers were nice, some seemed to be bother by you asking for something. Drinks were good and strong.

Well….well. My stay at the Verandah was EXCELLENT! The resort is beautiful it’s a sight to see. Checking was quick.. our room/bathroom was huge and beautifully kept. Housekeeping came every other day to clean up. Hospitality was on the MONEY.

And let me tell you…the food is to die for. As someone who’s from the West Indies when I stay at all inclusive resorts the food are normally tasteless but the Veranda chefs wasn’t playing with their seasonings. As we in the black community would say they put their foot in it😍.
What can I say about the staffs Smh in amazement. The most wonderful people/ workers I’ve ever encountered. The happiest respectful sets of humans. The comradery with guests was so special.
The Veranda owes me and my family NOTHING!
Highly recommended. Do not hesitate. Amazing resort, amazing staffs, amazing food and service. IfI should return to Antigua ever in the future Veranda adult only all inclusive it shall be. 👏❤️🤗🥰

Overall, I think this resort is a good value. The grounds were lovely, Most of the people there were kind and helpful. Housekeeping was responsive. The negatives were that their golf cart transfer system was slow at times. We often had to wait for extended periods to get lifts to the main area and beach. Our villa was quite a distance so we did not wish to walk every day. The only other negative mention were the beds. They were sunken in, lumpy and hard. We requested an overlay but the resort did not have any. The result was that we got very little sleep over the week.

The only suggestions would be better communication for activities and theme nights-there is a posted sign by the main pool bar but that’s it. Perhaps if a paper schedule is given at check in or even a specific channel on the tv you can turn to in order to see the daily activities and theme meals.

The Verandah staff was friendly and welcoming, the resort had great dining and drink options and we never felt that we had to wait for something. The pools and beaches were not crowded. A special shout out to Leon at the bar who made excellent drinks and provided great suggestions when we were looking for something just a little different. Beautiful property, couldn't ask for a more serene and lush property, 2 bdrm villa was outstanding...note that only bottled water is provided and you'll need to ask for replenishments each day. Large resort, so bring your walking shoes or have cart services on speed dial to get around. Food was mediocre for a resort, with the added inconvenience of no notifications for frequent changes to restaurant availabilities, but there was always something available. Short staffed everywhere, even for a shoulder season...service was slow and could only be described as being on \"island time.\" (no pool or beach services available) Lots to do to keep busy and active, just plan to seek out schedules and locations of activities...as those were changed/neglected without notice as well. Recommended for those that want great views and weather with a more quiet and self sufficient environment.

We just returned from a 5 night stay on May 26th. The resort is beautiful, great pride is taken with the care of the grounds. The main pool is large and clean. Our room, a waterview suite, was large and clean, but very basic and lacked in grandeur. The two beaches are very small and unimpressive, the benefit is the shallow, calm water since they are really a cove. The problem is the pungent odorfrom the seaweed.
The resort also lacked in entertainment, we are in our 50's and felt bored often.
Something important to consider when booking the Verandah, is that this resort is more of a 3-star; If you are looking for a 4-5 star experience, look elsewhere! In addiction, we were very disappointed with the food, food quality and food options. Only 1 restaurant was open each day and they never rotated their menu options. Normally, I gain 2 pounds while on a week vacation. I actually came home weighing 3-pounds less. We are likely to retun to Antigua but will look for a more suitable resort.

Disappointed and Confused by the Positive Reviews:

We recently stayed at this resort in one of the Superior King Oceanfront rooms, and I’ll start by saying the rooms themselves were lovely—spacious, clean, and with beautiful views. The grounds were immaculate—you could see the staff working diligently every day trimming trees, picking up fallen leaves, and maintaining the landscaping to a high standard. The property itself is stunning and well cared for.

Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.

The food was, without exaggeration, absolutely terrible. We didn’t have a single entree we could say was even “okay.” Even the sodas were hit-or-miss—some nights you’d be lucky to get one, and other nights you’d get some off-brand seltzer that tasted like flavored dishwater. Bar drinks were another disaster. Not only were they watered down, but it became a guessing game depending on who made the drink—you might order a margarita and end up with a rum punch (if you’re lucky). It’s clear most of the bartenders haven’t been trained at all.

Customer service was consistently poor. Wait times for food and drinks were unreasonably long, and many of the staff clearly did not want to be bothered. That being said, there were a handful of employees who were kind and tried their best, but they were unfortunately the exception rather than the rule.

The people were friendly, great rooms, no crowds, fun excursions and lots to enjoy on the resort. We look forward to returning someday. We had no issue finding a great spot on either beach or around any of the pools. If you are looking to party all week, I would suggest others, but if you want a mix with total relaxation then this is the place. My only 2 suggestion are to post the buffet theme for each night on the menus board and find a way to have strong wifi across the entire resort.

The property is large enough with plenty of options to choose your vibe: lots of activities and music at the main pool, or quiet remote options at other pools. Same with the beaches. Most of the staff were friendly and accommodating, but like others have noted, there were a few who seemed like guests are an inconvenience to them. Overall, we had a great time and we highly recommend the Calypso Cat trip to Bird island. The views were amazing, we snorkeled on the reef and even got to swim/ snorkel with sea turtles which was the highlight of our trip.

The resort was beautiful and if you are going there to just relax it would be ok. Some staff is friendly, but no one is in a hurry to do anything regardless off if you tip or not. The entertainment didn't impress at all. And the beach bbq party got cancelled due to a rain shower in the morning which I felt the resort could be better prepared for as it rained on more than 1 instance while we where there. This resort seemed to be mostly of a 55+ resort but all the guest we met were very friendly. My spouse and I enjoyed our time but would not return for another visit.

This is the perfect honeymoon destination!
The suites have two rooms to a building, so you don't have the noise and crowding of a standard hotel. The rooms feel private and quiet, and come with your own private balcony section.
Every inch of the property was spotless. Even the bathrooms at the beaches and the pools were immaculate. The landscaping is beautiful. It's also rather spread out, so if you like walking, you can stay active. If you have mobility challenges or are tired, they have golf carts and you can request a ride at any time.
Even though it is a large resort, it never felt crowded. There were always beach and pool chairs available. Even the large dining hall was never packed or noisy.
They have thought of plenty of activities so you will never be bored. Between the two beaches, water sports, multiple pools, fitness center, spa, restaurants, game areas, tennis and pickle ball quarts, mini golf, and daily activities, you will run out of time before you run out of things to do. And even if you do get stir crazy, there are many great options for excursions, with knowledgeable staff to help you pick out what you are looking for (shout out to Gem!)
All the staff were wonderful. Everyone was kind and professional.
We can't finish a review without talking about the food. They have options for every diet/preference. The buffet is amazing! Everything was DELICIOUS, cooked to perfection, at the perfect temperature. They have adventurous local options and basic staples.

There was no options for food for lunch, the buffet was always closed for lunch. We had the same menus every night so it got repetitive. If im paying that much for a vacation I expect to have options. The night life at the verandah was so boring and there was nothing to do. Our group would go to bed by 9:00 because we were so bored at night. There was no events, no activities during the night time. Some staff were not accomodating or friendly at all. The Verandah was such a beautiful property. The rooms were extremely spacious, the beaches and pools were gorgeous, quiet and clean and the food and drinks were great. If you stay here take the time to go on the Pink Panther tour (shoutout to Shelly she was excellent!!). The only reason I won’t give 5 stars is because the location markers are a little confusing so it was hard to find things, they did not assist us in booking reservations for restaurants at check-in, and a few of the staff members were a little rude. For example, at the buffet one waitress ignored my friends and I when we asked for water 5 times, and the man running the water sports stand on the beach made multiple fat shaming comments to me which made me feel very uncomfortable. Other than that, everyone was lovely, and the amenities and resort overall are excellent especially for the price.

We were there the week of March 29-April 5, 2025. We enjoyed our stay and I would recommend The Verandah. Here is information that I look for in a review:Overall resort: Good. It is clean and well kept. It is spread out, but nothing that we could not walk. They also have shuttles that will take you anywhere on the resort. We stayed in a waterfront suite and it was worth the extra fee.Staff: ALMOST all the staff are extremely friendly and genuinely happy you are there. As with any resort, there are a few staff that are an exception to this.Food: Buffet is just OK. It is the only choice at breakfast. It has several food options,none of which are outstanding. We only ate at the dinner buffet one time,again, just OK.The other restaurants are good. We did not pay the extra to go to the \"Upscale\" restaurant. All 3 restaurants and the Wicket pub had adequate options. The Pizza place is very good and a nice place for a mid day snack. Overall the food was as good as any all inclusive that we have been to. The coffee shop was just OK. There is only one person working at any given time, so there can be a long line and a long wait. Bars: Alcohol selection is decent. Typical of an all inclusive. There is typically only one bartender per bar. Again, sometimes a long line and wait. Beaches: Lovers beach is very nice. Small enough that you feel like it is your private beach. It is in a cove, so the wind was not bad. Plenty of beach loungers for everyone. Rasta beach-could not get in water.

The Verandah is a very beautiful property. It is a unique hotel layout as all rooms are in a little bungalow house with two rooms. Meaning that each house is a duplex. Each room is spacious with a huge shower, kitchenette and a beautiful balcony, plus a front porch just like a house. The property is huge so you can walk around but there are porters going around in golf carts to bring you anywhere you want if you don't feel like walking. There are two private beaches! Beautiful beach with a great beach bar. The restaurants were the best food I've ever had at an all-inclusive resort! They had a la carte dining even for lunch which was amazing,as I hate buffet. It was very relaxing and quiet. I would defintely go back. Highly recommended!

When we first got there, our room key didn’t work. It took 30 min for someone to work the computer system at the door in order to fix it. We were hungry and thirsty standing at our hotel room with our luggage in hand. That’s unacceptable!

The layout of the resort and villas is different than most but beautiful grounds. No lunch buffett. No wait staff on beaches or pools. Limited reservations for sining. Pizza takes 45 minsutes to an hour and a half.

Beautiful beach. Staff generally friendly.
Forced to eat buffet everyday as other restaurants booked up well in advance. Coffee smelt like goats and didn't taste much better. Took an hour to get a pizza by the beach. Limited top shelf booze...depended on what bar you were at.

Stunning property with great nighttime entertainment, beautiful beaches, very clean rooms and great pool. The food was delicious, but you need to book ahead for the restaurants which no one tells you and the staff is not helpful. You feel like you’re bothering the resort staff and they’re genuinely annoyed that you’re staying at the resort.

This property had the BEST FOOD!!!! I’m big on food so when I say the food was excellent it sure was. On Wednesday they have oxtails, rice and beans, Mac and cheese, jerk chicken and local food which was the best I’ve tasted. Better than Jamaica better than a restaurant. Also their restaurants have really good food. Nicole’s restaurant had the best grilled lobster!!!!! Drinks are also very good!

Dinner options were good, but reservations difficult, requiring almost daily visits to guest services. Many staff were friendly, but some were not, almost to the point of being rude. Views and both beaches were quite nice.

My GF and I spent 6 nights at The Verandah in January 2025. First, its a good value for money facility. There are nicer resorts with better amenities, food, etc. but also typically at much higher prices. The 2 little beaches are nice and despite being fairly small and constrained, were never over-crowded and we never had a problem getting a good spot. The rooms are very spacious and we were very pleased with the comfort of the bed, linens, AC, etc. Things we didn't like were: 1. Having to be there to make reservations for dinner at one of the restaurants, 2. Having to visit Guest Services to make reservations, 3. Inefficiency of Guest Services (they don't even keep a list of the available restaurants and their menus there, don't provide you a copy of your reservation, etc.), 4. In all cases available dinner reservations were way too late for us - we had dinner at 9pm one night; dinner reservations should be made avail online and should not require waiting in line at Guest Services, taking away from vacation time. 5. Quality of food is not great - the pay-for restaurant was quite good (but pay-for). 6. They have not marked the streets or provided enough signage for navigating the property (and if you ask staff how to get somewhere, you are typically told to \"go straight\" although there is nothing straight about the property!) 7. Tipping appeared to be rare and given that it did not appear to have any impact on service (ex being served drinks on the beaches), we stopped.
