The Lord Nelson Hotel and Residences is an apartment-style hotel at Dutchman Bay on the north coast of Antigua just a 5 minutes drive from the V. C.
Bird International Airport. The hotel now offers one-bedroom studios and two and three-bedroom beachfront apartments, ideal for those looking for spacious accommodation for a family or group vacation.
The original Lord Nelson Hotel was built in 1950 and was the first beachfront hotel in Antigua. The local greenstone buildings still stand on the waterfront today and house our one-bedroom studios.
The modern beachfront apartments are spacious, and each has a fully equipped kitchen and living room with either two or three bedrooms each with an ensuite bathroom. All units come fully furnished and are fully air-conditioned.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, full-size fridge, microwave, coffee, and tea-making facilities, and a toaster with all the pots, pans, and utensils for you to put together your favourite meals and snacks. The spacious living room allows you to relax in comfort and watch your favourite shows on a 40” flat-screen TV.
There is free wi-fi throughout the apartments. All bedrooms have a queen bed with an ensuite bathroom.
All linens and towels are provided. There is also a washer and dryer in the apartment.

Very cool restored hotel, rooms are quite small as an older hotel, however well maintained. Try and get an outside room overlooking the gardens as interior rooms all look at the mechanical on a lower roof.

My wife and I throughly enjoyed our stay at the Lord Nelson Hotel and Suites. Though clearly an older hotel, has been extremely well maintained. Stepping into the lobby with its wood paneling and chandeliers is a bit like traveling back in time to the mid 1900's. It is conveniently located across the street from the Halifax Public Gardens and within walking distance of the Halifax Citadel. There is a surprisingly vast number of nearby restaurants to choose from. There is a parking garage attached to the building though it's a bit of a maze to figure out how to get from the parking garage to the lobby. Also be careful in the garage when opening up the back door of an SUV (especially if it swings above the height of the car). Some of the parking spots have low hanging pipes for the fire sprinkler system which I managed to bang the back door of my car against. Still, we would not hesitate to stay again in the future.

Great location for a Halifax visit. In particular this was excellent for participating in the Halifax marathon. In addition it was a short walk to the waterfront. Close to the Cidatel and public gardens. Room size was good and well house kept. Noise level was a little high due to wedding guests and a relatively busy street. I would note that depending on the time of day there were a lot of homeless people when walking to the waterfront. No issues at all, just noteworthy. Great hotel! Don’t ignore the restaurant, it’s quite good for breakfast!

The front desk was dismissive when we went to ask about it and did not make it right. Overall the hotel location was on point, very accessible for walking the gardens and Citadel Hill. I would likely not stay again though as the initial arrival service was truly lacking, there are only some many getaways one gets and I’d prefer a hotel that is responsive.

The hotel, which is tucked away on the northern part of the island amid 40 acres of grounds, offers a total of seven bedrooms as well as an on-site restaurant and a flexible event space, perfect for any event, especially weddings and celebrations. There's even a functioning windmill on the property which can be climbed up to take in the fabulous view.
Four of the bedrooms are in the 140-year-old main house, and three further suites have been built in the nearby former carriage rooms from the 17th century. A few of the original furnishings have been kept, notably a large display cabinet on the first floor of the hotel.
Along with the majority of the window shutters and some of the louvres, the flooring is all original. The hotel is a fantastic spot to stay when on vacation in Antigua.
It exudes a peaceful energy. It is a prime location right in the middle of, and adjacent to, some of the top tourist destinations in the north of the island, only 5 minutes drive to Dickenson Bay Beach or 10 minutes the other way to Cedar Grove Golf Course.
The hotel's location is both quiet and convenient for your needs. Amazingly, the interior maintains the design of the 350-year-old Great House at Mercers Creek.
