The spa and beach were awesome. We were in a standard room which was ok, Mountain View. Could use an update. Almost all staff members were very friendly and courteous and tried very hard to be at our service round the clock. The water sports team was great and the evening shows were entertaining. This was our second trip here so we really liked the property which had the best beach in the Caribbean. The food was ok, plentiful but somewhat repetitive and could use some healthy options and updates . The other guests are very friendly and we would recommend this for families with kids or couples .

It’s was impossible to get anyone to do anything for you there. We booked reservations to the restaurants that were canceled or not put in the system. They offer canoes but they weren’t available for 4 days due to “maintenance”. Staff was courteous, smiled and said they would address our concerns but nothing was ever done. They said they were gonna come get our bags for checkout. We waited for 30 mins and no one showed up. We ordered breakfast at 8:30am it showed up at 7:30am with the wrong order. We ordered dinner (after they never booked or reservation) and it was a hr late. The AC didn’t work and the light flicker in the bathroom randomly. We went to the bar that closes at 2, the DJ showed up at 12:30 and ended at 1:15. I moved my coffee table on inch and all four legs collapsed. I reported it and it was removed but wasn’t replaced. Overall that may have been the best option. I swear you can’t make this up. It’s the worst Royalton we’ve even been to and don’t know if we’ll ever go again.

i’m typing this review as we are leaving the resort

They tell you to make reservations on the app for almost all restaurants but the app doesn’t work. They tell you to see somebody to make reservations, but all the reservations are full. Everything you order on the menu is going to be out of stock, The room will smell like mold. The ac vent will lock on your next at night an give the a wild migraine the next day.

The food section has barely anything local, if I wanted cheeseburgers and hotdogs I could have stayed home.

The price is so obscene compared to the quality of care given at this resort... 10/10 would never go back.

Let me share the most horrible experience that i have receive from the famous Royalton resort.
I am currently placed in room 10112 and my family party of 4 consisting of myslef , husband and two toddlers age 3 and 2 checked in on 02/19/26 at approximately 4:00pm.
We came into our room around5:30 pm.The first thing we were greeted with was a very obnoxious smell in the room.Wasn’t sure what it is my husband open the balcony door so that the fresh air could come in and the odour maybe will go away.It never did!!!When we walked into the bathroom area alot of water was settled on the floor we immediately called the reception area.They said they will send maintenance.
Maintenance did show up at the time we were about to shower our first child at 6:30 pm and the conclusion was that he come back the following day on 02/20/25 at 9am because i believe he said there is a leakage from the bathroom and we have to be out of the room
So we agree.
However we went ahead and shower both kids and the floor got extra flooded.
So we called reception because after spreading numerous towels after towels on the floor the water just kept accumulating.
Everytime i called reception after 6:30pm to 7:45pm they told me oh they will call me back.
Nobody did within that time so i decided to walk to front desk to ask for an update.
First suggestion i got from a front desk staff is that the manager said we should not use the over head shower which we did not.
Issue never solve and room was flooded

The beds in the room were horrible - I developed excruciating back pain as a result of the mattress not having enough support

Food was awful - app did not work and the lady who booked restaurants was only available from 10-3 so not an option if you had excursions. I asked front desk for assistance but no one got back to me. My husband developed food poisoning as a result

They gave me a resort credit and didn’t give me instructions on how to use it so when I went to pay at the end, they said that I couldn’t use it and had to pay full price

Selection of food was very limited. We eat seafood so the lunch grill had no options

Would never stay here again, especially for the price, I would expect better quality

Horrible customer service. The application for the resort is not operational. Making any reservation impossible unless you physically walk in between 10am-3pm. So if you are out exploring during the day making any reservation for the restaurants impossible. We tried texting, calling and speaking with management after hours, no luck.

The buffet selection is very bland and lacking staff. Every single day… there was no bacon for breakfast. You had to wait 15 minutes if you wanted and the very little they did bring out was gone right away as there was line. Similarly for dinner, the grill station didn’t have any staff for 3 consecutive nights. So if you wanted fresh grilled beef, pork or chicken out of luck. When asked when it is going to staffed, everyone just shrugged their shoulders.

We received $300 resort credit. Since we couldn’t do any reservations in restaurants due to above mentioned issues, we opted for private dinner, which was close to $400 but we were assured that we can use all of our credits towards it. When checking out, the only applied $30 and refused to honor what was agreed upon during the booking.

Stay far away, definitely do not recommend to anyone.

The bathroom toilet was not tettered to the flooe it rocked everytime we used it and it leaked. We. Called the front desk and wss pretry much ignored. We called again. They sent someone andnhe did nothing. It was fixed 1 day prior to us checkingnout in disgust. The food was terrible. Management staff was awful and dismissiv. I would never recommwndnor stay there again so so so disappointed. We endednup leaving early. Inhave also requested a refumd for the 2.nights I left onnthe books.

Beautiful hotel and beach. The whole staff was very nice and accommodating. There were some employees who were very nice: Sandra, Melissa, Ella and Margo. But Abigail from the Grazie Restaurant was totally excellent. Employees like her makes the great difference.
The only issue we had was making reservation for the restaurants. The App does not work good, and it is very difficult to get reservation in person.

The hotel was nice and room in good condition. The issue was the hotel staff and service. Our first night there going to dinner at the main buffet restaurant we finish our entire meal before even being offered water wasnt until I turned the cup upside down and held it up in the air to catch the waiters attention were we offered water. The dinning room waste even busy simply every other guess was more important to even greet us. The second night was a similar disappointment at least we were greeted and given water we order drinks from the bar but they were not good, asking the waiter for sparkling water instead was an inconvenience to the waiter. Third night we tried the steak house and waited patiently 2 hours for a medium new york strip steak. Need less to say our steaks where not medium, we waited so long we miss all the activiries for the night. The hotel is beutiful and the fun team were nice made friends with them, the chef greeted us one morning and I made one suggestion about the breakfast and the next day notice he took my advice, ai liked that. But the wait staff is completely un hospitable.

One little note: If you have mobility issues be aware the beach has a slope that can make it tricky to get out of the water unassisted and the toilets are quite low.

- The daily entertainment was amazing.
- It would be nice to have entertainment on the beach if all possible.
- My Butler service was good and available as needed.
- Rooms were mediocre at best, but cleaned everyday and housekeeping made a conscious effort to visit throughout the day. Well ran resort, would recommend upgraded rooms.
- I paid for the walk out pool, but did not enjoy the pool and did not get my money worth due to the water temperature was below the beach water temperature. In addition, the location of the walkout pull was covered by the shade. In addition, there was no view of the scenery of the land, water or island.
- During breakfast not too many meat options
- Overall experience was good, though I did not get my money worth out of the room.

We arrived and the system was down due to a power outage, preventing us from checking in. We were then not given the room we ordered (2 queens vs 1 king) - we were told it was because the hotel was full which we understood!
However - we then had cockroaches in our room (I have photos of these) which prompted us to request a room change. We had to wait another day due to the hotel being full and the staff were unapologetic start to finish, and we lost two days to my wife being incredibly distressed from the cockroaches
When we were eventually moved, our room was ready late and our bags were left locked in our old room - I had to get a staff member and use find my airpods to eventually get our bags back. I would definitely come back to Antigua but I would never return to the Royalton.

There are a few absolutely stellar staff members - Shauntay in particular was incredible. I never once met an impolite butler (We weren't in diamond but you still meet them all around) or an impolite groundskeeper - they would always smile and say hi. Almost every staff member made us feel like our presence was an imposition, and we are not really big 'complainers' so we just sort of put up with it, but the feeling that we were not wanted just soured the whole experience.

I was not impressed with the temperature of the food when being served at the restaurant(s) in this resort. The food tasted as though it was pre-cooked which took away the delicacy of the flavors. I also felt the food could have been seasoned slightly better to the authentic level of Antigua. Being a decendant of the country, i feel as though they are a little shy in this area.

Apart from the above, its a beautiful hotel for aesthetics.

My experience with Royalton Antigua was so unbelievably awful that I genuinely believe this property should shut its doors immediately until it learns the meaning of hospitality, professionalism, and basic human respect.

I did not end up staying here — not by choice, but because this resort refused to check me in, despite the fact that I had already paid in full through Expedia. Their policies were never disclosed, never explained in advance, and were enforced with a level of arrogance and hostility that is absolutely unacceptable in any service industry, let alone a so-called “luxury” resort.

The front desk experience alone was shocking — chaotic, dismissive, emotionally reactive, and downright disrespectful. Instead of trained hospitality staff, what I encountered felt like individuals who had no sense of service, no problem-solving ability, and no professionalism whatsoever.

And as for the manager/supervisor who handled my situation — let me say this clearly, as my personal opinion:
You have no business working in hospitality. None.
Your conduct was unprofessional, your tone was aggressive, and your attitude toward a paying guest was beyond unacceptable. Hospitality is about welcoming people, solving problems, and offering service — qualities I did not witness in the slightest.

Because of this resort’s negligence and failure to operate with any level of competence, I was left scrambling to secure lodging elsewhere — last-minute, stressed, and essentially displaced ……….

The reason for the 2 star rating is that the quality of food and drink was terrible, and that is a large part of what you are paying for at an all-inclusive resort. Cocktails at the sports bar tasted of chemicals and the food at the buffet was passable at best. Breakfast was worse, with cold, half-cooked poached eggs, slimy and tough smoked salmon and inedible pastries.

I would never visit this resort again.

My room was nice. But I really wasn’t sure if it was cleaned thoroughly. Why, the bathroom had hair in it. The staff cannot just surface clean. People like me do check the beds and corners. Also, the rooms supplies were not stocked in time before I arrived back to my room. And I never found the safe.

We were amazed at how great the Royalton was!! Some of the reviews are a little concerning but we took a chance and had a fantastic vacation. We travel all over the world but would definitely make time in our travel itinerary to return to the Royalton Antigua. It was by far one of our best vacations. Food was excellent- the buffets(we had breakfast and lunch and the lunch especially had a lot of delicious healthy options), Hunter steakhouse, Scores, Grazie, desserts were great all around especially the cheesecake(and we’re from NY), chocolate cake apple pie. Coffee and gelato shop was always a pleasure to go to. We didn’t try the Caribbean restaurant this trip but it looked good too. The pool is lovely(one of the pools was closed for renovation) and the small beach was really very nice. We didn’t go to the gym or spa. Gift shop had a nice selection too. Room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The parts of the property we saw were clean. Someone was always cleaning. The majority of the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and comfortable. The bell staff, cleaning staff, gift shop and restaurant staff(shout out to Hazelden in the buffet who always had a smile and was so nice to talk to) were all kind, attentive and helpful. Property lit well and we felt safe. Incredible, memorable vacation we’ll always cherish and hope to return soon. We can’t say enough good things and don’t get some of the more negative reviews but we can only speak from our experience.

Antigua was a wonderful place to visit, but there’s definitely room for improvement. The dining options were just okay — the best part was definitely the buffet, which offered a nice variety of choices. The room cleanliness was decent, but there were quite a few flies. They really need better fly control, especially around the restaurants and outdoor dining areas. It’s hard to fully enjoy your meal when there are so many flies around.

Me and my wife stayed there for 6 nights in late August. First night the ceiling fan was squeaking when on and the room A/C was making grinding noise. We called for service but maintenance guy couldn’t do anything. We could not sleep all night due to humidity and heat. Second day we had to move to another room with A/C and working ceiling fan. But then that room’s bathroom was terrible. Water leaking from the shower ceiling from the shower above plus there was a mold on that ceiling and plaster falling off of it. And the worst experience is that no one took care of it for our entire stay. We have pictures taken for our record. I would not recommend Royalton, Antigua to others.

I arrived at the resort around 11am. I knew it was early to checkin but I didn’t mind waiting until 3. However, I got my room after 4:30pm! That was ridiculous given that checkin begins at 3 and I had been there 4 hours prior.
Several mornings I ordered a coffee once I was escorted to a table before going in the buffet to get breakfast, I finished eating and still had not received the coffee.
There were many flies in the buffet area which was a major turnoff. This needs to be addressed as persons can become severely ill from this.

I know you effin' lyin'

This place should be ashamed of charging this much for a luxury suite! My sister sent me videos and pictures which you will see below, because I wasn't able to make it due to flight and seat issues. This faculty that was incomplete or not done I don't know what is going on. Part of the shower bottom on the outside chipped. How do we get part of our money back? I also since I wasn't there my sister still got charged the $15 fee for me and we need that returned as well. So we already put a call to the Royalton about that part.. I'm not going to say don't stay here, but I will say the price is not worth it. Most of my friends that went and including my sister all said the staff acted like they were on vacation!

Royalton is a beautiful resort. The staff were helpful. And the food were amazing. I stayed there for 5 days and did the catermeran excursion and snorkeling at Cadeefs Reef. You better can swim...like swim swim because youre in deep ocean and swim for like 3 miles. Drinks were on point and the rooms were clean and exceptional. I highly recommend

This is the second time my family and I stayed at the Royalton resort at different locations and was very disappointed …this stay checking in was slow and rooms were not ready , the ac system was not working properly and there were a lot of flies everywhere in the dining area and we had a lot of mosquito bites inside the restaurant..the spa was leaking in the pool area and musky
