Don’t pay attention to previous reviews. Resort is amazing. The food was good and service was slow but they get the stuff done. We tried carribean and steak restaurants and they both weee good. The bar score open till 2am and food was amaizimg. It’s great for food they have tons of kids activities. The pool and ocean very near by which was a plus. The resort not that big so very convenient. You need to try the coffee shop as well. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Most of the people were very nice. Hats off to Chesley at the pool bar. Made my vacation wonderful and almost forget about the 25% of the staff who look miserable all day and never smile. Made me miserable just getting a drink from them , some even didn't change their facial expression EVEN after I tipped them directly. Hate to say this but I'm sorry , it's true. Of those 25% staff I didn't appreciate , 24.5% were women. Such miserable faces. I don't need that on vacation. Sorry to say this , but they should be stuck in the back kitchen to express their miserable faces and not at front counters and pool bars.

Sadly , this is the one and only reason I will not ever return to Antigua. I've been all over , poor and rich areas , even in the poorest Cuba , they never were miserable like this.

I had a good stay overall. The hotel was clean, and the staff were always friendly, helpful, and willing to answer any questions I had. One feature I really appreciated was the buggy service, which came in handy whenever I needed a ride between the rooms, front desk, or beach.

The pool area offered a beautiful view of the ocean, making it a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery. I also enjoyed the entertainment throughout my stay. The performances were well done, engaging, and added to the overall experience.

Overall, it was a pleasant stay with great service, beautiful views, and enjoyable entertainment.

The beach, the pool and the drinks were all great. We stayed in a diamond club room and our butlers were very friendly. My dad was with us and he cannot walk far, so we requested golf carts each night from dinner to entertainment stage. The butlers were very accommodating for him and were very responsive with all of our requests.
The negatives would definitely be the restaurants. Not every restaurant was open and despite us asking for a reservation at the steak house when we first arrived, we never got to eat there. It was only open 1 night our whole trip and was booked up immediately (or so we were told). We had dinner at Grazie 2x. Once was fine, but the 2nd time we waited an hour and 45 minutes for our food. The food was not great overall, but we had a few dishes that were good. The best restaurant was the Caribbean one. The sports grill also took 2 hours for lunch. It was a fun trip and we had a relaxing time overall, but I would not stay again.

Staff were excellent. But the sports activity area when we went there was no one available and we left after one and half hour. When we asked whom to contact the staff in the beach are themselves did not know whom to contact.
We went next day 9:30 Am , we were told that there was no single seater kayak available. There were couple of damaged single seaters. Staff told us that only 1 or 2 in working condition. There were about 8 kayaks which were damaged.

The resort was very clean, great nightly entertainment, beautiful beach and the trainers at the fitness center were on point. The food was good at scores, the buffet and steak house. Downside: the waitress Adriane at Grazies introduced herself as \"I'm tired\", and my friends and I waited almost 2 hours for our meal at the Carribean restaurant only to get cold food, per the waitress- the servers didnt want to serve our food. The manager apologized on their behalf. Unfortunately, the rude and poor service left a lasting negative impression.

Our room had a leak throughout our entire stay. We reported it but it was not fixed. As a result our room constantly smelled musty. The make up mirror was not operational. On a few occasions they ran out of food by the pool. The staff overall were very friendly. In particular Carlene in the main lobby bar and Chelsey in the pool bar. The beach on the property is calm and beautiful.

We only enjoyed the beach…nothing else. Service was the worst I’ve ever had at any other all inclusive I’ve been to. Very limited options for food at buffet especially for breakfast and having to wait for hours for food was ridiculous when the restaurants seemed so empty. We would not come back to this hotel and definitely wouldn’t recommend with little kids.

The only thing we enjoyed about our stay at this hotel was the beach. The service from the staff there was sooo bad. At every restaurant we went to we were waiting at least 1+ hours for our food to come. We were with little kids and the food options were very limited. Breakfast buffet had very few limited options for food especially for little kids (we had a 3 year old and 1 year old). We would not recommend to anyone to go there and I would not go back to the same hotel.

Disappointed! After reading all the positive comments, we booked this resort for our family vacation. Huge mistake! The buffet food is not only gross but barely any options whether you go for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Very FEW THINGS! Nothing available for kids. NOTHING!
Prepare for the first 2 days to eat at the buffet since they won't accept you anywhere else without a reservation. The Caribbean restaurant is delicious & staff are nice there!
Most of the staff look like they don't want to be there and aren't polite or even smiling. There are some amazing staff though. Lobby staff- miserable! They split our party and gave 1 room on the first floor, street access , with balcony doors that didn't lock/ secure. They refused to move the guests for 2 days, on day 3 they sent the locksmith. The cleaning ladies were nice.
This resort has so much potential but definitely need to train staff and management on how to run it.
Entertainment was weak. Barely any music playing during the day. BARELY any engagement, didn't care to try to get people to participate.
The crowd- OLD, mostly over 60. It feels like an elderly retreat center!
Alcohol- I don't even know what they give us. No top shelf!
Only 3 bars (beach bar/sports bar during the day.... at night you have 1 bar by the theater/ lobby & sport's bar) prepare to wait a while for drinks. Usually 1 bartender... if you're lucky, maybe 2.
The beach is very pretty, clean, lots of beach chairs and towels.Royalton- YOU GOTTA DO BETTER

No life guards on the beach ever. Beach food shack ran out of buns at 1pm and closed for the day. Cafe/icecreambar was empty every day. Restaurants are not actually available 7 days a week. Antigua governor and staff showed up and shut down the main buffet to “tourists” forcing them to sit outside in a back corner with pans on hot plates&only like 7options. Power went out in our room multiple times every night. Pool has tiles melting away causing hazard. No handle on outside balcony. Sports bar hands you a menu then you go to order and they tell you oh we don’t have that and only actually have 2 items total on the whole menu. Also not very wheelchair accessible throughout resort. Also staff locks the bathrooms near the pool all day so they don’t have to clean them. Terrible service and out of all royalton resorts I’ve been to this is the most disappointing. Only serves bread and pasta pretty much when the buffet is actually available. I could say more but I’m running out of space. This is truly embarrassing and awful. Save your money.

The hotel and grounds are beautiful. They are very well kept. We really enjoyed our dtay here. The staff were super accommodating and helped to make my mum's 70th birthday one to remember. I had been Liaising with the hotel about plans i needed to be made and they were happy to assist at every turn. My group actaully plan to come back and do a full 2 week stay at this hotel as the food was tasty, the pool and beach where perfect and the overal vibe of this hotel was picture perfect for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. I would recommended this hotel to anyone i know looking to stay in a 4/5* hotel in Antigua. I will note that although i had the VIP (diamond) club room and service the alternative option was also very impressive. I can not fault the staff and the 'butler' for their aasistance and there pleasent nature. Nothing was to much to ask for. The freebies definitely helped to add to the value of the accommodation when in diamond club. 9.5/10 for experience, food and vibe of the hotel overall.

The Staff had a lot of attitude and did not want to provide service. I was locked out of my room, as the locked was broken. I got the run around for almost a full day. No one wanted to take ownership and resolve the issue. The water activities staff showed up an hour late every day, and he gave me attitude when I asked to use the kayak. The lifeguard was not on duty for the majority of the day. He was chatting with other staff and not at his post. I rarely got a smile from the staff and they did not proactively ask to help. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel, if service is important to you.

Overall we had a very good experience at the Royalton Antigua. I'd like to start by saying I wouldn't consider this a 5 star hotel like other Royaltons I've been to.

Pros:
1) Property is beautiful; beach and pool were great. Never had an issue with towels, getting a seat, etc.
2) Lots of amenities for adults and kids
3) Staff were friendly and very helpful
4) The rooms were spacious
5) Entertainment at night and during the day was very nice
6) Kids club was great
7) Coffee shop had great coffee, smoothies, ice cream and dessert.
8) Extra $$ - the spa was great and we had an amazing romantic dinner on the beach with private violin playing in the background (not sure if this was part of the package or extra). The food for extra $$ experience was delicious.
9) if you order through expedia, you get your own representative who helps you with your reservations and recommendations (sort of like a butler if you were to get the diamond club package). Our representative, Antoinette, was amazing and booked all of our restaurant reservations ahead of time and got us perks.

Cons:
1) Aside from the buffet, the a la carte restaurants were not good. Food was overspiced and overcooked most of the time.
2) The rooms themselves can use some upgrading especially the bathrooms. For a 5 star hotel, I would have expected more luxurious rooms.

Me and my partner stayed here for 5 days for her birthday. After booking I was a little skeptical because there were a lot of bad reviews. However that was not our case. The entire staff was super friendly and helpful from the time of arrival until we departed. Antionette, our Expedia host was amazing and had made us dinner reservations to all the restaurants prior to our arrival w/o us even requesting. She also scored us a cabana. The night entertainment bartender Carleen was amazing, Jakiel the young waiter at the buffet had a great personality, there was also a lady at the pool bar who took really good care of us. Titi with the pool entertainment staff was also great! Only downside was the quality of the food but Overall this was a memorable trip for us. Everyone who gave outstanding service received the $2 bills from us. Antigua was awesome!

As a frequent traveler I would not recommend the Royalton or Expedia as a travel service. Reservation was mishandled and a refund from Expedia was promised and not given, as well as many other instances of bad customer service and experiences…wild dogs on property. Water not working or brown. Running out of food at every meal. Do not book here or through Expedia!

We’ve just spent 10 days here and we’ve honestly enjoyed it so much. I think this hotel is what you make of it, and I do think there’s a difference in expectations from being British compared to what we noticed Americans expecting.

Room - we had a bay view and it was so spacious. We had a King bed and doors on the showers (other reviews seemed not to have this?). Housekeeping came everyday and restocked the mini bar (which is also included for free). Balcony was clean and spacious, bed was super comfy - we were really happy.

Check in wait time - honestly… I think if you’re a patient person this isn’t an issue. Our room was ready after 30 mins but they gave us our reservation number so we could go and make dining reservations, we also went and sat by the beach and got drinks from the bar. Just because the room isn’t ready doesn’t mean you can’t start the holiday!

Reservations - super easy, we made 4 reservations for our 10 day stay. You will struggle to get a booking on the day so I’d just recommend planning two/three days ahead. there was only 2 of us so maybe that made it easier to make bookings?

Food quality - the buffet was so much better than anything we’ve had in Europe. At breakfast you can get omelettes cooked to order, and they made fresh pizzas everyday at lunch. The Caribbean restaurant was fine, we went once but weren’t blown away. The Italian is the best restaurant out of all of them, it overlooks the sea and all meals were great (we ate there 3 ti

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience booking an excursion through the hotel’s vendor, Nexus Tours, during our stay at Royalton Antigua Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort.

We booked this tour as part of a birthday celebration and were really looking forward to it. On the day, we were waiting in the hotel foyer at the time advised by reception, expecting confirmation that our pickup had arrived. After waiting a considerable amount of time, we were told that the transport had already come and gone—without any attempt to properly locate or notify us.

What made the situation worse was the complete lack of support from both the reception team and the excursions/events concierge. There was no accountability, no urgency to resolve the issue, and no meaningful assistance offered while we were still on-site.

As a result, we lost £300 and missed out on an important birthday experience. This was not just a logistical failure, but a significant disappointment that impacted our overall stay.

I would strongly urge future guests to think twice before booking excursions through the hotel and to seek independent providers instead. At the very least, clearer communication and better customer care are needed to prevent situations like this from happening again.

We had an amazing stay at this resort! The variety of food was impressive—there was something for everyone, and everything we tried was delicious. The property was spotless and very well maintained, which made our stay even more comfortable. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful, with stunning views everywhere you look. Beautiful location and has so much potential but it’s poorly run. Staff doesn’t want to be there and it shows. Not even a Good Morning. Same food everyday, no variety. No availability at restaurants even with diamond club. Total waste of money there. Stray cats and cockroaches at your feet. Pest control lets themselves into your room to spray without knocking. Oh and when you check-in be prepared to wait until way out check-in for your room. Then when you go to your room, you find out that other guests are already accommodating your room. Staff was very unfriendly, although the hotel was all-inclusive it was also out of everything, no coffee, no mint for mojitos. My son was given a room, with keyed entry - upon opening the door it was another guest’s room. Staff just said oops we put you in wrong room. Hotel had cockroaches. Pest control was constantly letting themselves into your room and spraying, while you were using bathroom or in the shower. Diamond club was a total waste of money. Buffet every night unless you’re willing to eat at 9pm. Same dried out food every night with stray cats and dogs running at your feet. Beautiful location just very poorly run. Don’t waste your money. Casford in the cabanas was great!!

Food was not good. Restaurants you had to stand in line to make a reservation between 10-3. There were three restaurants.. not including the ice cream/ coffee shop that was twice out of ice cream, a sports bar that took an hour to receive your food wit no one in the place, and a buffet that was average at best. Out of the three other restaurants, the Italian place was good others not so much! Drinks were ok. Entertainment was ok. Staff was ok.not much of a beach… handles coming off on all bathroom hooks in both rooms we stayed at. Two small elevators that were mostly full .// u decide:) Atm was out of service .. two small stores were out of stomach medicine ./

I had high hopes for a welcoming and hospitable experience at this resort, but unfortunately, the staff seemed more preoccupied with cleaning than with being friendly and approachable. The food was decent, but I would appreciate more variety. The drinks were also lacking in quality. Perhaps there are unhappy employees, as the customer service could definitely use improvement. -The natural surroundings were beautiful, with a clean beach and clear water.
-The wristband room key was convenient and easy to use.
-The location is close to Fort Barrington, which was a nice advantage.
-The Italian restaurant and steakhouse both offered delicious food.
-The Antigua night show and the International night were the best.
-Antoinette from guest services was very kind and helpful—she assisted with our room change and ensured our needs were met.

Negative Feedback:

-The overall hospitality lacked warmth from the moment of arrival.
-Front desk service was very slow, and staff appeared to lack sufficient knowledge.
-Staff were often inconsiderate of guest needs and concerns.
-Some front desk employees displayed a poor attitude, with no friendliness or empathy.
-The lobby was very small relative to the number of guests, with too few staff available to assist.
-The stage location was poorly planned, requiring guests to search for a suitable viewing spot.
-The buffet offered limited variety.

Overall Experience:

Customer service is our top priority when choosing a resort, and unfortunately, this aspect was disappointing. As a result, we would not return or recommend this property to family and friends.

Our stay at Royalton Antigua was extremely disappointing. The original room was in poor condition (broken mirror, dirty floors with sand), forcing us to pay an additional $600 to switch rooms.

The replacement room was just as bad—the air conditioning was uncontrollable and made the room unbearably cold, and a burst pipe flooded the room overnight. We were also unable to use basic services like the phone, which raised safety concerns. Despite reporting these issues, nothing was properly resolved, and we were even unable to sleep in the room one night.

For a stay costing around $3,900 plus $600 extra, this experience was unacceptable.

Arrived at 10AM for check-in, although Many others were provided rooms before 3pm, we were delayed until 3:30Pm, and then provided a room with single bed, when double beds specifically reserved, and requested at check-in. We had an amazing time at this resort from being welcomed by Gavin, who assisted us with our luggage as well as a tour of the property prior to getting us to our room. All the staff were very friendly everyone spoke in passing. The gym was incredible several different machines, barbell squat rack, free weights, stairmaster, purell wipes, freshwater, clean towels. They also had yoga option in the mornings. I did not get one mosquito bite the entire trip in which I thoroughly enjoyed. The ONLY slightly negative thing that I can say was the wait time for the food at the restaurants was a little extended, but still tasted good upon its arrival. special shout outs To Mrs. joycelyn who assisted in the cleanliness of our room day to day. Kevin, was a bellman who informed us of different activities happening on and off the resort. Miss Ernestine, who was our waitress in the dining hall, was very attentive. Miss Antoinette helped us book our dinner reservations for every night.
The one and only Chesley, such a great vibe, at the swim up bar, made us all different types of beverages, to ensure our satisfaction. He made my mother a specific birthday drink for her 60th that we celebrated, on the 16th. Lionel made sure to keep the drinks coming. Maliki kept us active with the activities by the pool and got my mother to do the water aerobics, they had available daily at 11:30. St. Patrick’s Day they had beautiful decor, balloon arches, scavenger hunt & passed out fun accessories.

For that reason, although it’s a gorgeous property with incredible hospitality, I probably wouldn’t book here again. Unless, I was able to book Diamond. That area seemed to have more personal space.

Almost all staff members were very friendly and courteous and tried very hard to be at our service round the clock. The water sports team was great and the evening shows were entertaining. This was our second trip here so we really liked the property which had the best beach in the Caribbean. The food was ok, plentiful but somewhat repetitive and could use some healthy options and updates . The other guests are very friendly and we would recommend this for families with kids or couples .

It’s was impossible to get anyone to do anything for you there. We booked reservations to the restaurants that were canceled or not put in the system. They offer canoes but they weren’t available for 4 days due to “maintenance”. Staff was courteous, smiled and said they would address our concerns but nothing was ever done. They said they were gonna come get our bags for checkout. We waited for 30 mins and no one showed up. We ordered breakfast at 8:30am it showed up at 7:30am with the wrong order. We ordered dinner (after they never booked or reservation) and it was a hr late. The AC didn’t work and the light flicker in the bathroom randomly. We went to the bar that closes at 2, the DJ showed up at 12:30 and ended at 1:15. I moved my coffee table on inch and all four legs collapsed. I reported it and it was removed but wasn’t replaced. Overall that may have been the best option. I swear you can’t make this up. It’s the worst Royalton we’ve even been to and don’t know if we’ll ever go again.

i’m typing this review as we are leaving the resort

They tell you to make reservations on the app for almost all restaurants but the app doesn’t work. They tell you to see somebody to make reservations, but all the reservations are full. Everything you order on the menu is going to be out of stock, The room will smell like mold. The ac vent will lock on your next at night an give the a wild migraine the next day.

The food section has barely anything local, if I wanted cheeseburgers and hotdogs I could have stayed home.

The price is so obscene compared to the quality of care given at this resort... 10/10 would never go back.

Let me share the most horrible experience that i have receive from the famous Royalton resort.
I am currently placed in room 10112 and my family party of 4 consisting of myslef , husband and two toddlers age 3 and 2 checked in on 02/19/26 at approximately 4:00pm.
We came into our room around5:30 pm.The first thing we were greeted with was a very obnoxious smell in the room.Wasn’t sure what it is my husband open the balcony door so that the fresh air could come in and the odour maybe will go away.It never did!!!When we walked into the bathroom area alot of water was settled on the floor we immediately called the reception area.They said they will send maintenance.
Maintenance did show up at the time we were about to shower our first child at 6:30 pm and the conclusion was that he come back the following day on 02/20/25 at 9am because i believe he said there is a leakage from the bathroom and we have to be out of the room
So we agree.
However we went ahead and shower both kids and the floor got extra flooded.
So we called reception because after spreading numerous towels after towels on the floor the water just kept accumulating.
Everytime i called reception after 6:30pm to 7:45pm they told me oh they will call me back.
Nobody did within that time so i decided to walk to front desk to ask for an update.
First suggestion i got from a front desk staff is that the manager said we should not use the over head shower which we did not.
Issue never solve and room was flooded

The beds in the room were horrible - I developed excruciating back pain as a result of the mattress not having enough support

Food was awful - app did not work and the lady who booked restaurants was only available from 10-3 so not an option if you had excursions. I asked front desk for assistance but no one got back to me. My husband developed food poisoning as a result

They gave me a resort credit and didn’t give me instructions on how to use it so when I went to pay at the end, they said that I couldn’t use it and had to pay full price

Selection of food was very limited. We eat seafood so the lunch grill had no options

Would never stay here again, especially for the price, I would expect better quality

Horrible customer service. The application for the resort is not operational. Making any reservation impossible unless you physically walk in between 10am-3pm. So if you are out exploring during the day making any reservation for the restaurants impossible. We tried texting, calling and speaking with management after hours, no luck.

The buffet selection is very bland and lacking staff. Every single day… there was no bacon for breakfast. You had to wait 15 minutes if you wanted and the very little they did bring out was gone right away as there was line. Similarly for dinner, the grill station didn’t have any staff for 3 consecutive nights. So if you wanted fresh grilled beef, pork or chicken out of luck. When asked when it is going to staffed, everyone just shrugged their shoulders.

We received $300 resort credit. Since we couldn’t do any reservations in restaurants due to above mentioned issues, we opted for private dinner, which was close to $400 but we were assured that we can use all of our credits towards it. When checking out, the only applied $30 and refused to honor what was agreed upon during the booking.

Stay far away, definitely do not recommend to anyone.

The bathroom toilet was not tettered to the flooe it rocked everytime we used it and it leaked. We. Called the front desk and wss pretry much ignored. We called again. They sent someone andnhe did nothing. It was fixed 1 day prior to us checkingnout in disgust. The food was terrible. Management staff was awful and dismissiv. I would never recommwndnor stay there again so so so disappointed. We endednup leaving early. Inhave also requested a refumd for the 2.nights I left onnthe books.

Beautiful hotel and beach. The whole staff was very nice and accommodating. There were some employees who were very nice: Sandra, Melissa, Ella and Margo. But Abigail from the Grazie Restaurant was totally excellent. Employees like her makes the great difference.
The only issue we had was making reservation for the restaurants. The App does not work good, and it is very difficult to get reservation in person.

Overall, my stay was decent. The food quality was good, and the chef Nigel did an excellent job—very skilled and professional. However, the kitchen staff serving at the tables could improve their service, as it was not very attentive. With better table service, the dining experience would be much better.
