The room had roaches. It was loud at nice facing the main road. Some of the staff was very rude and not helpful. I would never stay there again or recommend it to anyone. It was a very bad experience and very disappointing. I so wish we did not book this hotel. I think it should be listed as a half star hotel.

Location was good and the room was large. It seemed like there was too much space in the room, and it had a balcony. Reception was helpful and was able to assist with booking a taxi for an early flight. The bed and pillows were ok, but not exceptionally comfortable, and the AC worked extremely well. Unfortunately, none of the nearby atms accepted us cards, which made it hard to get currency and places close early, so by the time I arrived I couldn't find food and went to bed hungry.

The location in downtown St. John’s is useful for food and shopping (noting most places are closed on Sundays and holidays). Rooms are large and often have an equally capacious balcony. But the spaces are a bit run down: the towels were filthy - grey rather than white - and there was a thin rime of dirt inside the kettle and no way to clean it out. Hot drinks were off the menu. Finally, our room overlooked a bar that played live music until very late. Perhaps ask for a room facing away from the bar.

All though the staff was nice upon check in the hotels water failed over night leaving us with toilets that could not flush and no water for personal hygiene when I asked the front desk for bottled water to freshen up and brush teeth they were not wanting to supply use with it reluctantly they gave us a large bottle from the drink cooler in the lobby the breakfast was good but I really felt a financial consolation should have been made

The hotel had an excellent location. The room was very spacious but the blanket on the bed was not clean and there was dark glue residue behind the toilet which leaked. Breakfast was good and the waitress was friendly.

Staff were helpful and good customer service. The room itself was OK very basic needs of a fresh decoration. Very out dated, balcony door didn't lock, room door didn't have a dead lock or a lock bolt just a privacy door lock. Door frame was chipped by previous DIY, door was very loose to the frame. Happy to stay there for one night to catch a cruise after delay but won't stay any longer than that. Local area was a ghost town but was told because its Sunday. Think area would be a ghost town if there isn't a cruise ship in port.

Cheapest hotel in the area if not on the entire island ,interior need big time updating, a little problem with the parking if you rented a car, water was cut of every day from about 9am but it was back on when we comeback to the hotel around 7pm

The customer service at the hotel was decent. The hotel linens and towels had permanent stains and were severely discoloured. The hotel needs an upgrade in most ares; amenities were very old, some tiles were lose, fixtures need changing and even curtains appeared beyond their life expectancy.

This hotel needs to be taking off Expedia because what you see on line is not what you get when you arrive there. From since this place was built nothing has ever been changed. Shower handle is corroded, face basin change color from its original color, and the list goes on and on. I don’t recommend this place for no vacation at all no matter how cheap it is. Heritage please do better than that.

From the moment we walked in the check in attendant was very unfriendly & unhelpful & said there was an additional $6 hotel charge that was not included in the already long list of additional hotel charges. When we got to the room the very first thing we saw was 2 roaches in the shower. The towels were very dingy and looked very used not to mention the long strand of hair that was stuck in the washcloth. We stayed the one night, my wife refused to stay another. There was a fowl odor. People in prison get thicker blankets. Bugs in the light fixture. Pieces of the ceiling falling out. 15inch TV in the farthest corner of the room. There was no vending machine or ice machine we were assigned to the 4th floor. Found out the next morning the one small elevator for the entire hotel is broken. Upon checkout we requested help with luggage & was told, there’s no one to help, while watching 2 other employees sitting,talking and texting in the lobby. We had to carry 4 large suitcases down 4 flights of stairs. After requesting a discount for the inconvenience, the attendant laughed and said no. Upon leaving the same 2 employees still sitting in the lobby texting. Please update the star rating on your booking site because the pictures definitely don’t match.

I returned to my room and the phone was ringing and it was the day receptionist who was very rude and told me I would pay for the breakfast and it was not complimentary . I told her I was not paying for it and to contact the nice lady who was on reception the night before she then hung up on me. Very soon after I went to reception and a local girl with dyed ginger hair looked at me and said we contacted the receptionist that was on duty the night before and she did say I had been given a complimentary breakfast and that she had decided to uphold the fact that this had happened . I did not like the fact that the shower is very very very old and needs to renew all together. The floor of the tub has rost spots. the tiles on the floor needs to be changed. the entire room needs to be re-done because its very old fashion. this would be my last choice of hotel if I were to go back to Antigua.

This is an older hotel, not too far from the docks. You can see the cruise ships from your balcony. It was clean and accessible with ramps outside and an elevator. It is right across the street from cute little shops and a few restaurants. Every place I went into took USD. Need to be careful crossing the street. Cars come flying over the hill sometimes! Staying there was great…part of the adventure!

The lift seemed to be long term broken and nobody offered to help us with the suitcases despite being travelling with a baby and being sent to the 4th floor. Good value stop over for one night en route to Dominica. Pleasant, helpful staff. We received a free upgrade to a suite at no extra charge. There are several good restaurants close by for dinner. Free WiFi worked,just. Lift was out of order but a Porter carried our bags up.

The hotel, which is tucked away on the northern part of the island amid 40 acres of grounds, offers a total of seven bedrooms as well as an on-site restaurant and a flexible event space, perfect for any event, especially weddings and celebrations. There's even a functioning windmill on the property which can be climbed up to take in the fabulous view.
Four of the bedrooms are in the 140-year-old main house, and three further suites have been built in the nearby former carriage rooms from the 17th century. A few of the original furnishings have been kept, notably a large display cabinet on the first floor of the hotel.
Along with the majority of the window shutters and some of the louvres, the flooring is all original. The hotel is a fantastic spot to stay when on vacation in Antigua.
It exudes a peaceful energy. It is a prime location right in the middle of, and adjacent to, some of the top tourist destinations in the north of the island, only 5 minutes drive to Dickenson Bay Beach or 10 minutes the other way to Cedar Grove Golf Course.
The hotel's location is both quiet and convenient for your needs. Amazingly, the interior maintains the design of the 350-year-old Great House at Mercers Creek.
