Staff are so friendly and cannot do enough for you. Rooms are well maintained and spotlessly clean, THE FOOD!! Is INCREDIBLE! fresh delicious food in all restaurants, no shuffling around a sad buffet!! Just fab service with food which is top notch 👍 definitely be back, definitely recommend. It’s just the most relaxing beautiful place ❤️

The Galley Bay is the most magical resort! Truly tropical, set in paradise, romantic and vibrant! The rooms are beautifully decorated, the grounds are kept beautifully and the beach and sea are sublime. All food was excellent with lots of choice across the whole day. Galley Bay is a beautiful resort! If you want to relax and be treated well alongside a beautiful beach, this is the place to go! The room was absolutely amazing! It was by far, the nicest room we’ve ever stayed in.My only complaint was that Wi-Fi was really only working in the rooms, and the restaurant choices were limited since only one or two a day was open.

Our room was nice and big. It was literally on the beach. We walked out of our room onto the beautiful beach. We had our own beach chairs and umbrella. The food was very good. The staff was very friendly. It was very much like a boutique resort. There was plenty of activities to do. The snorkeling was good right off the end of the resort.

lovely beachfront suites that have everything you need. restaurants are all very good. they will adjust any dishes if you simply ask.
wonderful pool area and bar service at pool. pristine beach, but not a swimmers beach. strong surf. . take a guided tour of island but don’t drive yourself. a big no. we got to see so much with a driver and able to relax and not deal with crazy roads.
spa is quaint with lofted thatched roof treatment rooms.
. all staff was extra helpful and friendly. only suggestions for resort would be a fresh beach towel at pool daily rather than dragging wet towel back to room everyday. labels on the myriad of switches in the rooms as to what coordinates with what. a sunscreen pump station at the pool. these are minor fixes but would be so much more convenient.
very very laid back and relaxing resort. no kids. no loud music. classy. must wear long pants at dinner or they will turn you away. enjoy!!

Lots of stars!! I feel I have to mention some shortcomings: The check in process is not straightforward, and actually annoying: you have to provide your reservation, although they already have your reservation and your room assignment, you have to provide a return flight reservation, you also have to fill out a registration form, although you already submitted your passport.
The food is subjective topic, but one should not expect haute cuisine. Most of the time the sea is to rough to swim, or snorkel.
The stuff is exceptional,
It is nice to have realistic expectations!

Galley Bay Resort is absolutely gorgeous. It is almost as if you have the beach to yourself. The staff is the most friendly and accommodating we have ever experienced. The food in any of the restaurants is exceptional and the food service is superb. Our room was large and very comfortable right on the beach. The water is crystal clear and has rolling waves that are fun. There are some areas to snorkel off the beach but when we stayed, the waves were keeping the water too cloudy to snorkel. The resort did shuttle us to a calm bay where we were able to snorkel a bit. Not the best snorkeling we have experienced, but we took a 4-hour sail and snorkel trip with Captain Sean which was fantastic. But there are many other activities available: the pool with a waterfall is relaxing and there are water sports offered such as sailing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. Tennis, volleyball, ping pong, a pool table, bicycling, and croquet are also offered as is a daily yoga class. The resort caters to adults only and there is a relaxed and mature feel to the place. We met many other couples and made friends easily. If you are seeking a beautiful place to completely relax with a touch of elegance, this is your resort!

The Galley Bay Resort is a beautiful property that sits on a georgeous bay with a private half mile beach. Tne food was excellent and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Our room had a fantastic view of tbe ocean and well design bedroom and bathroom areas. Tne property was well maintained and landscaped. The surrounding terrains included rocky hills with goats. Tne restaurants were varied and all were open air with views of the bay.

This resort is one of a kind! I have never experienced such fantastic customer service before , they will go above and beyond to ensure happy guests. Every single staff here are some of the friendliest people and are sincere. The resort is just absolutely beautiful and you feel like you are on your own private island. On top of that the food is fantastic and never was disappointed. Galley Bay has set a bar very high for all inclusive hotels. We traveled for our honeymoon and we cannot wait to go back already!!!

I only received turndown service once during my trip but am not sure if it is available
We spent our 30th anniversary at the resort and they helped make it special.
Caryle and Shawntay and the rest of the bar staff were amazing always greeting us with a smile.
Room service has just started and needs a few more items up to par with the restaurants.

All in all we will be back.

Galley Bay Resort is amazing. The property is picturesque, tranquil and lush! We went for our honeymoon October 2024. The food is outstanding, fresh ingredients made with love you can taste it. The staff goes above and beyond, everyone is helpful and friendly. If you're looking for a hotel that is quiet so you can decompress this is for you. They do have nightime band after dinner, however if your looking to party till the sun comes up this is not the place for you. The guests varied in age some late 20's and 30's but mostly 40 and up. We will definitely be back next year to unwind and the hustle and bustle at home. We absolutely loved it!

The beach is spectacular although the sea can be choppy so be aware if you’re unsteady on your legs.
The only thing to note is check occupancy levels before you book as they limit certain services, facilities and restaurants if occupancy is too low which was disappointing when not made aware until you arrive…

We stayed for our honeymoon in the off season. The resort was quiet and the beach was pristine. There were limited dining options and things weren’t always open when expected. Our suite was clean and comfortable, but lacked the charm you’d expect from a highly rated resort. The staff were exceptionally friendly. The food was very good.

We give the Galley Bay a 8/10. This was a beautiful resort, we stayed at the Gauguin Suite and it was so private and the pool was amazing. We saw some reviews complaint about the smell and we did smell it but I wasn’t so bad. The food was also AMAZING. However, the service really was not good. It felt like we were bothering servers by asking for a drink. I had to call room service three times and wait two days to get our fridge to be refilled. We waited so long at some of the restaurants too. I just don’t see us going back because of service and not a welcoming atmosphere. Everything else was great tho!

This property is great if you are looking for a nice relaxing beach. The beaches were the best I’ve ever seen in my life so quite no waves in the summer. Shower floors were not good and we stayed in the Gauguin suites which was great we were in the back very secluded. Only problem with the suite was the smell coming from the pond. There was also a lot of bugs in the small pool so we never even went in. The food was the best food I’ve ever had on any vacation in my life. Ismays restaurant will always be what I compare other restaurants to for the rest of my life I’m not even joking it was that good. Don’t come here if ur looking to party u go to beach u eat u go to sleep but all in all it was an unreal experience and I strongly suggest going. Eating all outside is a little tough when it’s that hot but worth it to go during dead season. You will never find a better beach/ocean.

Staff was incredible, except for one bartender who just wouldn't smile. Our room was perfect, right on the beach. The food was exceptional, which isn't always the case in an all-inclusive. The menus varied every night, were very innovative and the food delicious. The resort is in the process of upgrading some of their rooms which was needed. I rated the surrounding areas a bit low because they had some sewage/filtration areas that weren't treated and left lingering smells throughout certain parts of the resort. That should definitely be addressed. Overall, it was an awesome experience and we would definitely go back.

We celebrated our 5-year anniversary at Galley Bay at the end of May/beginning of June. We’d like to celebrate benchmark years and our stay at Galley Bay exceeded our already high expectations. It was the perfect stay to mark the occasion (and it would for any other, really).

Taking the taxi from the airport was no fuss, but don’t worry about how Antiguans drive - it’s how they drive here and it works. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a Rum Punch and a beautiful view down the bridge that crosses over the lagoon. The grounds are exquisitely manicured and a bike ride or walk is recommended. Our room was clean, on the sand, and literally opened to the water. Nothing beats waking up with a view of the beautiful bay and rocks on the distance. Facilities were well-kept for a coastal property. Restaurants were comfortable and had beautiful views onto the bay.

(Review is brief - Expedia’s word limit.) When it comes to staff, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I will say not to expect every staff member to be overly eager to serve you, but they will still get the job done. Watersports guys were great. Tafari treated us extremely well. Ebony from the farm was amazing. Captain Sean’s outings are a must! And Shirley Heights is a great party atmosphere and an amazing view. Ismay’s is exquisite. Food all-around was delicious. Keep in mind that this is the perfect place to relax, not party, though there is live music nightly. Snorkeling in the bay is great.

The beach was beautiful and swimmable, with emerald blue water at the perfect temperature (cool enough to refresh, but not enough to chill). The staff were wonderful throughout, including the wait staff at all 3 restaurants (shout-outs to Ivy at the Barefoot Grill, Samantha at the Sea Grape and Dwight and Amanda at Ismay's), the staff at the watersports pavilion (shout-outs to Nequan, Tafary and particularly Shiloh, who was especially helpful on the Hobie Cats), housekeeping and even the groundskeepers. Everyone was so friendly and helpful! The food was very good all around, and there was plenty of variety, even from day to day. They have the freshest fish and seafood! Gaugin's is the perfect spot for lunch or dinner, with a grand yet private view of the ocean from your table. The room was very spacious, clean and attractive. The outside shower (for after a dip at the beach) was a nice touch. This is our 2nd time there, the first time being several years ago, and it lived up to our memories! We'll be back for sure!

This property and the staff was nice. There isn’t a lot to do at this resort. The people that stay at this hotel are mostly older white couples. You can not play any music at the pool. There is no music playing at the bar. Men have to wear collared shirts and pants to dinner or they will have to get room service. Dinner seems like it took a long time each night. So if you want a quiet stay with not a lot of things to do then this resort is for you. If you are of color and under the age of 55 you wouldn't like this resort. It gave more of a retirement home vibe but it is a beautiful resort and the rooms are very nice and the staff was very helpful and nice. The only entertainment at this resort was a band or a singer at 9 to 10. Other than that no entertainment

The beach was unbeatable. The sand was great, no rocks. The water was beautiful, warm and turquoise. Plenty of chairs and umbrellas on the beach. Service was a bit slow at times but we weren’t in a rush. Some areas had sewage smell wafting. Need to improve the sanitation in that regard.

I love that we woke up each morning to the beautiful Caribbean Sea, bright blue skies but also we could walk through the tropical fauna.

The resort was spotless and the staff could not be more welcoming and caring.

40th anniversary was a disappointment

The view was incredible. The beach/sand was very clean and well taken care of. The food was delicious. Most of the people were very nice and welcoming. There were a few hostesses and waitstaff that were NOT very good to us. We paid extra for the romantic dinner on the beach, which was our 40th wedding anniversary, and the staff that waited on us were very inattentive. Our glasses were empty of the drinks/ water we’re having. Our food took a long time to come. The food was delicious when we did get it. But the person made us feel that we were too much trouble for her to stay focused on us. All the other guests that were eating there (did not pay extra to be there) were getting better service than us. So we thought we would try again in Ismay’s fine dining, which again we paid extra for, was bad service again. We were there almost 2 hours and were sitting with our glasses empty and our food very late in coming to us.There were other couples arriving later than us and were getting their food before us. It made us feel that we had done something to make them mad at us. We will consider coming back here but we would warn other guests to not pay the extra money for the special dinners, since our experience was mot what we expected.

Galley Bay was simply magical! The beachfront location was gorgeous, quiet, and even more beautiful than the photos from their site. The staff was friendly and warm each day and I felt very safe and welcome, even as a solo traveler. I found the knowledgeable staff at Guest Services especially helpful for arranging excursions and activities. I would stay at Galley Bay again in a heartbeat.

Room was sparkling clean, service (food and drinks) was second to none I’ve ever experienced and the property overall was beautiful. Private beach so no locals bothering you trying to sell you stuff. We never ventured off the property to explore more of the island because we never felt the need to. Menus for lunch and dinner change daily. Breakfast was almost the same every morning with a few changes but there are plenty of options so in 5 days I had 5 completely different breakfast experiences. If you’re looking for a younger/party scene this probably isn’t your place. We are a younger couple but enjoyed the slower/quieter pace of Galley Bay.

A piece of paradise...!

Simply the best holiday we ever had! As a couple in our mid forties we managed to get away as a couple without our children for a week and Galley Bay Hotel was amazing! Beautiful location with one of the best beaches on Antigua, and in early August 2023 we almost had 3/4 of a mile of sand to ourselves, so peaceful and quiet. Staff were really friendly and all genuinely cared about your stay. Food incredible for every meal. Everything was included which was refreshing. No buffets for luch or dinner. No queues for food you had immediate personal service with a smile and \"you're welcome\"! Free watersports and yoga. Live band every night. Beautiful beach front room. The best holiday we ever experienced!

Galley Bay is a boutique resort in a spectacular location. The service was great, and the all-inclusive package was excellent. Lots of choice in the restaurants, with a new menu every day. We were an usual group for the hotel - 2 adult couples with 4 teenage girls (3 x 17 year old, 1 x 18 year old). Hotel could not have been nicer or more accommodating to our group. I would highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing and quiet break. We will return.

This is a rustic property, very serene, older crowd. Many return annually. We found the guests and staff pleasant. It was a treat to have the beach right outside our door; lovely sand and water. However it is slanted, soft sand, hard to walk on. The walking/cycling trail is very gravelly and muddy. These were major disappointments as we go away in Feb in part to exercise outdoors everyday.
Food at Sea Grape (main dining room) and Ismays (premium, upcharge but worth it) was quite good. Ismays is only accessible 4 nights out of 7, but at least you can reserve ahead of time so we were able to get in once. Gaugin, the third restaurant, had the most spectacular setting but very uneven food. Incredible spring rolls, yet tough, chewy marlin and flank steak. Mediocre desserts. And almost impossible to get a reservation - apparently you have to be standing at guest services at 6:55 AM daily to have a prayer of booking.
The resort prides itself on having gone paperless. But there’s not so much as a resort map in your room or on tv. We were not told about the daily new guest orientation at 10 AM - learned about it mid-stay. Why not also put the info in writing and laminate it for each room? Or put on TV? Hair dryers (theirs and ours) worked poorly - just not enough power) and internet was out all weekend in our room. We appeared to be the only guests who left the resort for any reason - nothing nearby, but we took a taxi to Cecilia’s, a terrific restaurant friends had recommended.

The resort itself is excellent. It's location has no offshore reef to block the waves and the \"red\" flag was up for our entire trip. If you like to surf, you would have liked the waves. IF you wanted to swim in the ocean, go paddle boarding ot Hobie Cat sailing you were out of luck

Beautiful accommodation. Right on the beach. Roomy, very clean, and a well stocked mini bar. Bathroom enormous with a beautiful walk in shower. Large walk in wardrobe. Allocated sunbeds which was lovely, no rushing in the morning. Food lovely in all three restaurants and the beach grill really handy. Lovely coffee shop on site. The gift shop had some nice things.

Be careful! Vacation ruined. Booked a beachfront premium suite. The water is rough to the point that no one is in the water. No one around the beach to offer drinks or food. Everything is so far away from each other. The WiFi was not working. The wifi was vital for us as we needed it to conduct business. Such a disappointment. We immediately checked out and moved to the royalton. The property still charged us a $1,300 “penalty” having been on property for 30 minutes Complete joke. Galley Bay should be penalized, not us.

Great place to stay

What makes Galley Bay Resort so special are the people. Without exception everyone we met were smiling, friendly and couldn’t do enough to make sure that we were enjoying ourselves and all of our needs were met. This was our second visit to Galley Bay and we were greeted like returning family. The food was delicious at all of their restaurants and the evening entertainment was lively and inclusive. We look forward to our next visit.

Because we were in a garden view room, we weren't allowed to sit in any of the beach front lounge chairs with umbrellas. We had to go all the way over the the chairs in front of Gaugin restaurant, which, every day, had leaf blowers or hammering from construction or landscaping. NOT relaxing! We were given one day chairs on a slanted piece of beach, with a broken umbrella, right near the yoga pavilion and zodiac. Again, NOT acceptable or relaxing. Also, the food was absolutely horrible. We both got food poisoning our 3rd day there. Thank goodness for the staff who were very nice, and friendly.

The service overall was very good, but at times hit and miss. The scenery is absolutely beautiful, the rooms are spacious.
There is no ATM on the property, which is a pain since taxis only accept cash. WiFi is very slow.
Staff were exceptionally disciplined about wearing masks, which made us feel safer.

Set in an historic, restored 17th-century colonial mansion is Weatherills Rekindled, Antigua's newest hotel. Nestled between Marble Hill and Bluewaters, the carefully restored plantation house of one of Antigua's most productive sugar mills has been given new life as an elegant boutique hotel.

The hotel, which is tucked away on the northern part of the island amid 40 acres of grounds, offers a total of seven bedrooms as well as an on-site restaurant and a flexible event space, perfect for any event, especially weddings and celebrations. There's even a functioning windmill on the property which can be climbed up to take in the fabulous view.

Four of the bedrooms are in the 140-year-old main house, and three further suites have been built in the nearby former carriage rooms from the 17th century. A few of the original furnishings have been kept, notably a large display cabinet on the first floor of the hotel.

Along with the majority of the window shutters and some of the louvres, the flooring is all original. The hotel is a fantastic spot to stay when on vacation in Antigua.

It exudes a peaceful energy. It is a prime location right in the middle of, and adjacent to, some of the top tourist destinations in the north of the island, only 5 minutes drive to Dickenson Bay Beach or 10 minutes the other way to Cedar Grove Golf Course.

The hotel's location is both quiet and convenient for your needs. Amazingly, the interior maintains the design of the 350-year-old Great House at Mercers Creek.

The original Lord Nelson Hotel was built in 1950 and was the first beachfront hotel in Antigua. The local greenstone buildings still stand on the waterfront today and house our one-bedroom studios.

The modern beachfront apartments are spacious, and each has a fully equipped kitchen and living room with either two or three bedrooms each with an ensuite bathroom. All units come fully furnished and are fully air-conditioned.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, full-size fridge, microwave, coffee, and tea-making facilities, and a toaster with all the pots, pans, and utensils for you to put together your favourite meals and snacks. The spacious living room allows you to relax in comfort and watch your favourite shows on a 40” flat-screen TV.

There is free wi-fi throughout the apartments. All bedrooms have a queen bed with an ensuite bathroom.

All linens and towels are provided. There is also a washer and dryer in the apartment.
