An awesome experience. Staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful. The grounds were beautiful and very clean. Never a problem having access to food and drink...24/7. Always something to do, and I really enjoyed the included snorkeling excursions (3 per day)....just make sure to book early. Same with the a couple of their higher end restaurants....be sure to make a reservation ASAP. Having said that, we were able to have great dining experiences at the other restaurants with no reservation required. All and all, a very memorable vacation. One thing especially that I'd like to emphasize, and that is the friendly and earnest care for the staff would show you at this resort. They're a model of courtesy for us all. Bless them. They work hard to ensure you're enjoying your stay.

This was our first time in Antigua, and my wife and I had a good and relaxing experience at the resort. We have visited other Sandals locations in the past, and overall, we enjoyed our stay. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job, despite the building being somewhat old. However, the elevator did not function well.

We also tried the spa, which was an awesome experience, and we rated it 10/10. While the resort staff was efficient, they didn't seem to show much empathy toward the guests. Overall, we appreciated the variety of food options available.

The resort was spacious and safe. Everyone was friendly. Only negative aspects were the elevators and the photographers. On the Mediterranean Side there are two non air conditioned elevators. One elevator would not go to our floor. So we had to get off on the floor before and walk up the stairs. The other elevator wouldn’t go to the first floor so had to get off on 2nd Floor and walk down. The other negative is the continuous staff photographers snapping pictures everywhere you went on the resort. You felt the paparazzi were following you around. Each photo is $20 if you chose to purchase. You don’t have to purchase but it is stressful knowing they are coming and you have to say “No Thanks” while enjoying your dinner and the entertainment.
On a positive note try to go on an excursion to Shirley Heights and private tour of the Island with Flava Tours in the air conditioned van.

We booked what was supposed to be a special candlelight dinner for three people, only to be told we had to pay for four. That alone raised eyebrows, but we decided to proceed, expecting a premium experience. Unfortunately, what followed was nothing short of frustrating and disappointing.

From the start, the service was subpar. There was only one server assigned to four tables, and she clearly had no assistance or sense of urgency. We waited over 2.5 hours for our main course, which at that point felt like an afterthought. We ultimately decided to leave and had to request that our desserts be packed to go—so much for a relaxing and enjoyable evening.

To make matters worse, the entire area was infested with sand fleas, which made it impossible to sit comfortably. The staff seemed indifferent to our discomfort, and no proactive solutions were offered. Throughout our stay, the bartenders and hosts showed attitude and lacked basic courtesy. There was no warmth or hospitality, which you'd expect at a dinner advertised as a premium experience.

A particularly unacceptable moment came from a photographer who called us “lame” simply because we declined—after being asked multiple times—to have our photo taken. That level of disrespect was not only uncalled for but extremely unprofessional.

The final blow came days later when we discovered that the exact same meal we paid over $400 for was actually included at one of the all-inclusive restaurants on the property.

I will see the people and workers of Antigua are super nice. But for the amount of money spent I was very unimpressed by the rooms. We stayed on the Mediterranean side with a walk out garden area. The rooms look like they were made in 1990 and for the price it just didn’t seem to match. Also if you are planning on going here for a babymoon I would reconsider because when they serve food is very specific. Almost every day I was ready to eat at 5pm after being on the beach all day and they didn’t open dinner until 5:30/6 and same for lunch the good lunch food and majority of places didn’t open till 12:30pm so I was starving. Lastly they advertise how they celebrate you, we came for a birthday and baby moon and on the birthday there was no recognition which was sad. But again the staff was very sweet I just think overall it wasn’t worth the price

We loved the dining options, many choices and the food was incredible! Accommodations were great and the hotel staff were very friendly and willing to go the extra mile. We were very disappointed with all the solicitation on and off the beach. It was persistent and frankly annoying. Spa employees constantly tried to get us to go to the spa, which is not included in the “all-inclusive” and is very expensive. Solicitors on the beach try to sell everything and anything from clothing and hot sauce to excursions not sponsored by Sandals.

This property was amazing! Great beach with some vendors but the vendors left you alone if you were not interested. Beautiful grounds that were in the process of being renovated during the daytime hours. The noise was not excessive and did not bother us. If you are looking for an intimate space with fantastic food, staff, and entertainment…this place is for you. Everyone went above and beyond!

This was the first time to stay at Sandals resort but it was simply great holiday.
Our room was in Caribbean pool side Delux room but unfortunately we were annoyed with the noise from generators. A lady in the reception kindly sorted out and re arranged to a seaside cottage room which was quieter and easy access to the beach.
Beach was fantastic with clear and calm water.
I enjoyed snorkelling every day so special thanks to water sports department guys.
There were a lot of dining options and we enjoyed most of meal.
Overall good hospitality especially thanks to Andrei at the reception and Sheneke of Eleanor’s restaurant.

First time staying at a Sandals resort. We stayed at Club level so we had a concierge. Helped A LOT. It was a nice resort however badly in need of renovations. Be prepared to walk. No golf carts driving you around. There was a mix of ages but when we went a lot of seniors. Prefer that to drunk college kids. The wi-fi was absolutely the worst I’ve ever encountered, barely worked. Now for the pros. The staff was all so kind and attentive. Really made sure you were happy. They have a nice courtyard type vibe. The main pool is big and most lively. There are other pools that are quiet. Pool and hot tubs are open 24/7 so that was a big plus. Food was good. I’ve seen bad reviews but I don’t know why. Better food than any other resorts I’ve been to. The dining I loved. It wasn’t packed and crazy EVER. Most restaurants you don’t need dinner reservations. You don’t need towel card. Take as you need. They don’t have a lot of beach chairs and butlers save seats for their guests which was annoying because it never seemed like the people used them. Beach was beautiful though. Water was nice. No seaweed. There are people that sell souvenirs on the beach but wasn’t too annoying. There is night entertainment as well. Bring bug spray mosquitoes at night will eat you alive. If you’re looking to relax this was perfect. Other than WiFi and the needed updates it was really nice. I would go again.

Antigua is undoubtedly a beautiful destination, but unfortunately, our experience at Sandals fell far short of expectations. Despite being marketed as a 5-star resort, it felt more like a 3-star experience from start to finish.

The check-in process set the tone for our stay, and it was chaotic. Initially, we were given a room in a category we didn’t book. After raising the issue, we were moved to the correct category, but the room was extremely noisy, situated behind a restaurant. Only after two days of complaints were we moved to a quieter room with a sea view, which they claimed was an “upgrade.” However, this wasn’t an upgrade we requested; we simply wanted a quiet room in the category we had already paid for at $750 per night.

Dining was another disappointment. On our first night at the Bayside restaurant, we waited 45 minutes to be seated and an additional 1 hour and 45 minutes for our main courses. Despite addressing our concerns with the Food & Beverage Manager and the General Manager, we never received an apology or any effort to rectify the situation.

The food quality overall was incredibly poor, especially when compared to the amazing local cuisine we enjoyed at Antigua’s restaurants and even ingredients from local supermarkets. Sandals’ food was the worst we encountered during our trip, and on our final evening, we opted to dine outside the resort.

This was my first time staying at a Sandals resort. Overall, the resort was great including good location (15 mins from airport), great restaurants/food, very friendly staff and our butlers (Chavon, Geoffrey and Marylyne) were AMAZING!! There was entertainment throughout the day and live music in the evening. The piano bar had a nice vibe as well. The rooms are a little dated and need renovation (i.e., painting, wood repair and bathroom shelves were broken and a leaky sink). The rooms should be updated to more modern decor especially for the price. However, the room was clean and the resort grounds were well maintained. There was an issue with the room I booked, which was supposed to be ocean view versus the room we were in, which was tropical garden view, however this is an issue with Expedia as they falsely advertised the room. I'll definitely visit other Sandals resorts in the future.

I spent a lot of money to get here, and let me tell you It was by far the biggest mistake I made. This will be the first and last time I come to antigua. The staff was rude. As for the Wi-Fi. Good luck with that, you won't get any there. It was my first time going to Sandals, I thought I would have been in luxury, not even close. NEVER AGAIN.
I can say about a handful were sweet. The food was horrible, And the staff for cleaning the rooms was horrendous. After experiencing this, I'm sticking from traveling to Cancun, Mexico. They are by far the most respectful to the touristsThey are by far the most respectful to the tourists. Visiting their country, visiting their country.

This was the second half of our trip to Antique and 1st time to Sandels. There’s many good and several not so good things. We booked a room in the Caribbean portion of hotel ( There’s 3 different parts on property, all connected) our room, building and walkout pool area was showing its age and wear. Most staff were friendly and welcoming. Beach is spectacular and beautiful. All and all not bad but not 5 star property. The street neighborhood around the properties are very rundown and the island is showing the economic impact of poor leadership.

I rated a 4 because of an experience at Eleanor’s restaurant which sticks in my mind and made us feel really bad when it happened. My husband and I had reservations for Eleanor’s on my birthday evening, we showed up well dressed and excited, the maitre D looked at us and said- we are closed. She looked at our startled and disappointed faces for about 15 to 20 secs before saying she was kidding. The restaurant could have sent over a cupcake with a candle to acknowledge my birthday. Nothing! This interaction leaves a really bad taste towards Sandals. I’m having second thoughts about our plans to book another Sandals for our December trip. This just sticks out for me and I can’t forget how I felt. Other waitresses and restaurants were excellent including the red lane spa.

Property needs updating, it is very worn and old. Bathroom in or room had calk filling scratches and holes in the toilet and tub had worn spots, tile grout was chipped and falling out. Service at restaurants was mediocre. The younger employees seemed to be in a bad mood and not wanting to work or be there. At breakfast I needed to ask for coffee two more times after asking for it when being seated. Waited over 20 minutes after main dish to be asked if we wanted desert. Now the good is the beaches are incredible and most employees were nice and polite. The location is one of the most stunningly beautiful places I have seen. Overall had a great time just needs a little fixing up of the facilities and a little motivation to get younger employees on board. Again overall wonderful

Its a Sandals, so GREAT (actually AMAZING) food. Many restaurant variations. Great pools. Nightly entertainment (some a little hokey, but expected). Staff will kiss your butt (you're paying for it, so enjoy it). Beach is \"eh\" especially because there are so many gorgeous beaches around Antigua. This is not one of them. Water is dead calm (no waves) so it stays cloudy, lots of seaweed. Only useful for wading out with a drink in your hand. Other than the not useful (for us) beach this place is great.

First day the room was not cleaned or change towels. Service in the beach was very good and the bar as well. Front desk was not friendly or meet our needs. Our flight was at 5 and the check out at 11 no late check out whatsoever. They say you have to go to the Mediterranean side to change and come back again to the Caribbean side for the car. We had to walk all round with suitcases. But overall was ok.

Pros/Cons (a real review):

Pros:
- beautiful beach with amazing shells and sea glass
- free scuba diving for certified divers (it was awesome!) all gear is included, too, besides a wetsuit
- amazing food at all locations (so many options)
- free shuttle to and from the airport
- use of Departure Lounge (showers/hair dryers/soap/towels/etc. all provided here if you have a late flight- it was absolutely amazing, so we were able to enjoy our day and get cleaned up before leaving)
- grounds/landscaping was beautiful
- room was very spacious and comfortable (the double vanity was amazing)
- included watersports were so fun (we took out the Hobie quite a few times)
- Adults-only
- Top-shelf liquor
- Lots of different pools with fun activities in the main pool all day
- nightly entertainment
- not crowded at all, which was amazing
- friendly workers
- Samson and Delilah (their resident parrots were adorable in the main lobby)

Cons:
- Food service to your room ended too early at 10:00 (we wish it went until midnight)
- Room keys weren't wristbands like a lot of other resorts we've stayed at. We prefer not carrying the key around with us. Wristbands make it easier.

Tips:
- We liked staying at the Mediterranean side better. It's of course a personal preference, but it was right at the main pool.
- Order a Hummingbird and Cool Runnings

Our trip was absolutely amazing! We highly recommend going to Sandals Antigua. It is totally worth the money!!

The Macaws at the check in area needs a bigger aviary as it’s to small for two large Macaws. They are also not fed timely and water is not changed or topped up!
When events are being held in that area, the Macaws should be moved to another location, the loud entertainment would have the birds stressed.

I liked everything about the property. I do think the breakfast places should be open at 7am. (early risers)
I was all so thinking about maybe a miniature golf on your property. My suggestion- I would like more of a dancing place with mix music for older couples and younger couples. I think you should put in fans at some of the eating places, it was very hot couldn't enjoy the food as much.

Sandals resort was just fine, the reason I gave it an overall rating of only 2 stars is for my Expedia experience…our room reservations were wrong, we were two couples traveling together and our rooms were supposed to be side by side in one of the little cottages but when we arrived our room was in one of the cottages and our companion’s room was in whole different building/location.
Needless to say we were not happy about this and although the Sandal’s team were not responsible since we booked through Expedia they did make it right and upgraded us to be next to our friends free of additional cost.
Sandals stepped up when Expedia failed.
Will definitely book through a hotel’s website directly rather than Expedia from now on!

This Sandals resort has certainly seen better days. We stayed on the Mediterranean side on the 3rd floor. The room was adequate. The air conditioner leaked, the refrigerator was noisy, there was mold visible in the shower, broken ornate piece missing from the mirror. What we really liked was the included shuttle service and amenities. We sailed and snorkled which was great to not have to pay additional fees to enjoy these experiences.

This resort was so beautiful and peaceful. Perfect for a getaway. I had such an amazing time and everyone was so nice and accommodating. The room service was fast and the dining options were wonderful. The food was delicious including the buffet. I definitely will be returning!

Towels smell damp and moldy making your skin smell the same. Not completely all inclusive, if you’re not in a certain area you don’t receive all privileges, like for example room service, we called room service and they said that our building belonged to the tier that does not receive room service

Staff is great, resort is dated and could use some renovation. Room didn’t have a alarm clock/ radio or TV guide. My only major complaint is expedia has room service list as limited. I assumed this is limited hours or menu, it’s limited rooms.

The decor needs a revamp upon a closer look. The staff was excellent. The candlelight beach dinner was very romantic if you can stand the sand flies. But wirh that being said we would definitely visit another Sandals resort in the future.

We loved the overall vibe of the resort. Great people attend this type of resort and the staff is Uber friendly.

I would like to see the resort go to an app for reservation of pool chairs and improvement in the food.
