This is a one star property. The staff is not Jolly and the property is not at all as promoted. There are significant maintenance issues along with terrible food. The only good thing is the beach but the chairs are dirty and worn. The rooms are awful and most a/c units don't operate properly. The bars are under staffed and you will wait in long lines for food and drinks at pool bar.

My experience at Jolly Beach has been my least favorite places I’ve ever visited, whilst the location of the property itself was great the service of the Food and Beverage staff was not pleasing or friendly with the exception of a few servers and literally a couple bartenders. The front desk staff were welcoming and friendly. The cleaning of the rooms should be included, its very unsatisfying to come back to an unkept room especially on vacation, the maintenance of the resort is not being maintained since we were without electricity for an entire night making it incredibly difficult to get rest during the night due to the heat in the room. From my experience no guest should ever know when there is a problem with any establishment there were no back up generators to provide power to the resort, it was even impossible to get hot water for tea, ice for juice or water and no water in the room to shower. I can’t say that I will return to Jolly Beach but the island I will revisit.

Staff is not helpful. Mr.brown is the only one who explained things and do his best. No electricity or water for over 6 hours, bathrooms were backed up. The food selection is not the greatest.The building is very old.The bathroom door was falling off. will not recommend this resort. go somewhere else.

The rims were not that clean. The air conditioner did not work couple days. We had no water and no electricity. Definitely not what we expected. Pictures made it look way better. The food was only fair. Definitely not worth rating.. when you go on vacation, you expect to have rest and relaxation. We were hot in the room at night and when the electric and water doesn't work, that's not good.. also didn't feel it should be necessary to wait forever to get a drink at the bar due to short staff. Will never be back

We didn’t have AC the entire week , after going to the front desk they never fixed it. The pool bar closes way too early and no fun entertainment. Evening a singer came each night . The staff was very rude they hate their jobs with the exception of 2 .

On the plus side the beach and pool area are beautiful. The drinks are a good poor and we could always find something to eat that we liked. Where this resort fails is in the rooms and buildings. I get that the resort is very old and is in the process of updating. That being said our room was nor very clean and badly needed to be updated. This is definitely a 3 star resort and just my opinion.

Good hotel. Friendly staff. Expected more. Checked in late around 8pm. Surprised I did not get a welcome drink. Room was small. 5 mosquito laying on the bed and more flying around. Killed the mosquitos. Left the room to eat at the buffet. Came back into the room and kill more mosquitos for the next hour before going to bed. Housekeeping needs to spray the room after cleaning the rooms and before the next guests arrive. 3 restaurants. Buffet (Breakfast, lunch and dinner), grill by the beach (only for lunch) and Italian restaurant (Dinner only. Need reservation. Reservations are taken in the morning starting at 7:30am). Food at all three restaurant were O.K. Did enjoy the curry chicken and goat. Very happy that there was lunch/dinner food (curry meat or fish) at breakfast. I am not a breakfast food person. Wasn't impressed by the Italian restaurant except the steak (beef). I do not drink but since I was on vacation I did partake. Drinks were water down. Never got a buzz and neither did my partner. Beautiful beach!! Noticed the guests like to claim their lounge chairs in the morning then go eat breakfast or whatever. Loved the fact that a worker collected \"claim towels\". I hate when guests claim a lounge chair. Most times they claim it but then don't actually be there for hours. 2 resort cats (heard it was 3). One got comfortable on my boyfriend's lap on night as we were just hanging out. The other one went on a walk with us around the resort and beach

Rooms are clean but showing their age. The environment outside the rooms were also clean & appeared well maintained. Staff for the most part appeared to be there just to do a job. Two exceptions were Judith at the hostess stand in the mornings at the Palms restaurant, she was always pleasant & greeted you with a smile & Neal at the Long Bar who made the effort to get to know you & always had a friendly, fun attitude. The poor gals who work at the poolside grill looked miserable every time we were there.
The long lines for food & drinks during the day were frustrating especially when minimal shade was available.
Food was fine with the buffet emphasizing local food, which I appreciated. The sign up for the Pizza restaurant was ridiculous with people having to be in line by 0630 to get a reservation for that night. Coffee is also not available in rooms so another line to wait in to start the day.
The beach was amazing and there were always adequate chairs at both the beach & pools. We did enjoy our stay as we read the reviews before hand & knew what to expect. Overall an average resort, food & staff with amazing beaches.

The hotel rooms are very old and there isn't a dresser, but shelves in the closet. The bathroom was poorly lit and always warm due to an open/screened window. Food was OK, nothing special, but edible. The staff are amazing here, with the exception of the front desk staff, who were rude and acted like you were bothering them if you needed anything. A pipe broke above our room and we had to move to another room at 2:30 a.m. and then get our stuff moved out by 8:00 a.m. No help with moving our things or even an apology or anything for the inconvenience. The beach here is gorgeous!

We loved our 10 day stay at Jolly Beach Resort. The staff are friendly and helpful. The beach is excellent. So peaceful and relaxing. We had a variety of food options and the drinks were great. This was our second visit to Jolly Beach Resort. We will return here

Simply a terrible place that I would strongly advise avoiding at all costs.

The bedrooms are incredibly basic with a very depressing rundown American motel vibe, that was made worse when the AC (for the whole block) stopped working on the 3rd night of our 7 night stay. Cleaning service is an extra charge!

However, this was not the worse part of our stay! The all-inclusive food offering was absolutely awful together with the unfriendly staff service.

On many occasions the buffet food trays were empty and never seemed to get refilled regularly and when they did, it attracted long queues as everyone searched for something to eat. The fresh fruit salad offering at breakfast consisted in the main of only 3 types of melon, sausages and bacon were also in rare supply too. A lucky day when you found them.

In addition for the hunt for food, you also had to hunt for bowls, cups and glasses. Don't bother to ask the staff, they had a habit of never returning. I found it easier doing the search myself.

Also be prepared for the long queues at the bars. The hotel appeared to operate a system of just having a single member of staff serve drinks even at the peak lunch and dinner times, you'll be waiting for a least 30 minutes.

The feeling you got from this resort was neglect in every way from the poor room accommodation and lack of amenities such as pool umbrellas and working sun loungers, to poor service that felt deliberate in order to save costs. We felt scammed!

This is the absolute worst hotel ever. I would not suggest anyone stay here. If you are looking for a place that is run down, and the staff are very rude, this is your place. Our room was filthy, with bugs everywhere and sand all over the place. The TV did not work, the AC did not work. The food at the buffet is hardly edible. We complained to the front desk, and they acted like somehow the rrom being dirty was not their fault and the AC not working was out of their control, nothing they could do about it. We ended up leaving after being at the property for maybe 4 hours total. Please do your research first. This is an absolutely horrible place to stay, and i highly recommend going somewhere else. Be warned

Antigua resorts are expensive but this resort is reasonably priced. Is it a 5 Star hotel, no, but you can have a really great time here. The staff was always friendly. The food was good, accommodations were good and the beach is GORGEOUS. The pools are also very nice. We would definitely stay here again.

The room was small and dated, but we expected that when booking. We came for the sun and sand. The bed was comfortable and clean. The buffet was good, but sometimes we did have to wait for it be restocked. The check in process was simple and the ladies were friendly. We did stand in line for food and drinks but if you hit it at the right time it wasn't too long. Our a/c didn't work and the third floor room we stayed in was very hot at night. Our shower always had hot water and pressure but after talking to a few other guests that didn't seem to be consistent with other rooms. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but we had low expectations from the start. It is a 3 star resort afterall.

Staff is always helpful. It’s not Disney, so don’t expect smiles as staff walk by, but bartenders and front desk and some at buffet are really great. Room could use an overhaul and wouldn’t recommend if you’re traveling with anyone expecting a 4 star room experience.

Our power went off and the air conditioning didn’t work very well. We requested a refrigerator because I had medicine that requires refrigeration. It took them two days. I had to keep it on ice in the meantime. The receptionist that checked us in was very rude, I didn’t appreciate that. I am on vacation. The rooms were very old and nothing worked. The tv was even fuzzy, like an old antenna. I am requesting a credit for this $4000 trip. At least something for all the hassle.

Lost power five times in 11days. Virtually no menu changes from day to day or week to week. Rooms are tiny with no drawers to allow for unpacking, but we were aware of that prior to going. Bars were under staffed and extremely slow.

Now the upside. There are some good dinner spots options in the harbor and more coming. The beach is fantastic although the chairs are old.

In summation, they say you get what you pay for, I guess I expect too much, like electricity, food choices and reasonable service.

Resort was very dated rooms were on the small side. The pool maintenance was poor. There were dead cockroaches, and dead gecko along with a lot of debris in the pool and it was cleaned the following day after I complained about it. There’s only two bars open during the day and both are at the one end of the resort, leaving the other end, booze free. Beach was beautiful lots of loungers and chairs and Palapas. Dinner buffet was OK. Lunch buffet was poor. We needed to eat at the outside grill pretty much for all of our lunches. Breakfast buffet was good, but ran out of orange juice ran out of bacon quite often, several days in a row. There is one à la carte Italian and we ate there twice and enjoyed the meals.

The fact that the resort is extremely dated i was able to over look at first. However it's all the issues that came after check in. Power outages, wiring concerns, not able to turn on/off ac, screen doors not working, NO entertainment, food and drink options are lacking. No clearly laid out rules/process. Beach chairs and canopies are falling apart. The outdoor wiring is sketchy at best. There are only 2 outlets in the rooms and one you need for the fridge. Showers are very small. Love the island but won't go back to jolly beach

Karla at the front desk was very helpful. Kudos! The beach was first class. The rooms are very dated and are only cleaned for a few provided you give 24 hrs notice.
Ensure you walk with a container for drinking water as it's not provided in the room.
The meals are very repetitive.

Lost ac for three nights, manager was unable to relocate us to a different room , citing totally filled hotel rooms. Refused to consider giving us an extra fan .
After one night if no ac , there were mosquitoes and had to ask hotel staff, twice to spray the room .

Our stay at Jolly Beach Antigua was far from what was presented to us by the photographs provided for booking. To begin, the room we booked was not the room we received, and were placed in a “budget friendly” room instead. The room was TINY. So tiny that it was difficult to fit two pieces of luggage in it. To make it work, we had to remove the ironing board and place it on the patio just to fit one piece of luggage in the closet, while the other had to be placed in the corner and opened each day to retrieve things from it. The bathroom was not very clean. There was toothpaste caked onto the sink counter, and faucet. The shower handles were broken, and came off in your hand when trying to adjust water temperature (which would go from scorching to freezing in a matter of seconds.) There was also wiring from the split-unit air conditioner running through the shower, and then to the exterior. The room was also filled with bugs mainly spiders and cockroaches (which could also be seen around the resort.) We also lost power multiple times, and were without it for quite a bit of time. The hotel advertised that there were 4 restaurants on the property however, only 3 were part of the all inclusive deal. The Palms, which is the breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffet was open. The Coconut Grill is only open from 11:30-4:45pm. The Pizza Factory is open, but only if you’re willing to wake up at 6:30am to get in line to get a reservation in person, otherwise you are unable to eat there.

Location is great! Beach is amazing, white sand that’s powdery soft. Lots of beach chairs and umbrellas available even on a weekend they were fully booked. Plenty of food at all the buffets-did they run out of things? Of course, but replenished frequently. Plenty of beach towels available, and those were available to take on excursions as well. The tour desk was also helpful in booking the stingray city adventure. Lots of good things and I’d stay there again myself. Things to note-hot water in the shower is hit or miss and sometimes scalded and sometimes froze in the same 15 minute shower. The toiletries leave a lot to be desired. Bring your own. The thermostat was also sort of hit or miss. The remote works but would only let us adjust by a couple degrees. Be sure you hold it up close and aimed right at the machine on the wall. Bed was ok for me, but too hard for my partner and made his back stiff. You can request a blanket at the front desk, and also a beach bag (free!). Staff was ok. Not overly friendly or helpful, and wait staff frequently came to the table once and never saw them again. Pools were beautiful, bars and food options good, and sometimes there was evening entertainment. Overall, a nice stay for a decent price.

The room was very old fashioned, no dresser, no clean towels by request. Noisy all the time due to people trespassing, even a soap was hard to get by request.
You can see a lack of staff everywhere and line to get drinks or food.
The food was very limited and sometimes if you’re late you could just stay hungry.
Compering to DR or Mexico the service was just poor. Only one lady was smiling and singing cheerful song in the morning, the rest of staff was just not friendly, never smiling and looking sad and tired, which felt uncomfortable.
The only one thing that saved our vacation was an awesome sea and beach.

I knew to expect outdated rooms and decor but I was truly surprised at the grouchy and unfriendly staff in most interactions. Customer service was very poor and I witnessed employees loudly complaining about guests and being generally short-tempered. A precious few were actually professional. Very disappointing. The food was very hit and miss and the wifi was nonexistent in my room.

This was our second stay at Jolly Beach. Room was clean. Staff friendly. Great pools, clean beach. Pizza factory- need reservations and you can't go back to back nights but really wasn't a big deal to our group of 8. Awe went twice and everyone liked their meal! Staff was great and fun! Breakfast buffet: We all could easily find something and was good. We never did lunch buffet. We grabbed something from the Coconut Grill near pool and beach. Chic wrap good but it is spicy, Burgers, Jerk Chicken. Coffee bar could be available a tad earlier. maybe 6am?? But we are just early risers. Dinner Buffet. Most nights all was good. But we are not foodies. We all found something and did not starve. We also ventured down to the Mangroves Beach Bar (cash/CC) for drinks and food. You can also call Kaikoconut and they will send a boat over to take you out to the floating bar from Mangroves Beach Bar. Los Cabrones- short walk in the new commercial village (shipping containers-kind of like food trucks) is delicious and Near Sea Dream Restaurant and Bar.(we stopped for cocktails I believe one couple had food) There are also more restaurants in that area if you want to venture out. You may have some walking to room and they have 3 floors-steps and good size resort- take that into consideration. 1/2 hour from airport. I stayed here in 2008 and 2026. I would recommend and would stay there again. The sunsets are amazing.

The resort is very outdated. The staff was not cooperative and the hotel is very understaffed. It was very limited food choice. Lines were everywhere to get food and/or drink. They don’t clean rooms daily and it is known. But they do provide towels upon request. The power was gone many times. When there is no power, restaurants are providing even less food. No bear or soda is available. The only one thing that goes for this place is a beautiful beach and the sea is awesome.

Very tired resort. The staff are mostly amazing. Had an issue at checkin and checkout. Not pleased. Not very organized and if you ask anything about activities happening at the resort the front desk knows nothing. The beach is absolutely perfect and fun. The one manager we give big applause is Terrance, always goes above and beyond. Seating for meals is painful, why they need our room number and to seat us does not make sense as it is all inclusive. I could go on forever but if you want a nice beach this is the place to go.

The beach is beautiful, but the room was awful. There was no ocean view, even though we booked a room with an ocean view on Expedia. The room smelled musty. There were several power outages. The ac was not working properly. There was no door on the closet. The shower door was falling off. The toilet tank was dripping. The toilet seat was loose and wobbling. In general things in the room were dated and in need of repair. But the beach and pool were beautiful. The food was good -not great, but good. However, you were pretty much limited to the one buffet. The other restaurant (the Pizza Factory) could only handle 80 guests per night and if you wanted to make a reservation for that evening you had to get online around 6:45 and wait until 7:30am when they start taking reservations. They are understaffed. The grill by the pool was a nice option for lunch (open from 12-5) for burgers, hot dogs, grilled chicken, etc. The staff was hit or miss - some nice and helpful, some not so.

The beach was beautiful and very clean. Unfortunately the rooms were very outdated, our bathroom door didn't close and the resort lost power a few times during the day. So no AC, no way to charge our phones and no lights. The breakfast buffet was delicious, omelets were great but the indoor dining was full of mosquitoes and outside the birds were trying to grab a bite off your plate. The alcoholic drinks tasted a bit weird. The best drink was a passion fruit mojito but they were never consistent. A bartender named Patrick made the best ones but he was only there one day of our stay. Also house keeping was not available until 9 am and fresh towels were not given to you if you didn't ask. The pools were amazing but the poolside bar closed too early. If someone really took care of this property it would b soooo much better.

Our stay at Jolly Beach was great - it helped that it was 82 degrees there and 12 degrees back home. We were a group of 8 celebrating a birthday. The restaurant and bar staff were super helpful and accommodating. Our room was a bit dated but totally functional and comfortable. I would definitely go back and recommend to my friends.

There was only one restaurant, the staff was not kind and not helpful at all. I’m very sad that I spent money on staying here. I would never recommend this to anyone. Very very disappointed.

It was a quick getaway, and really enjoyed our time at Jolly Resort. If you get a chance please ask for Delesha Robert’s, one of the best servers, I have ever seen, her service was amazing. Very relaxing, beautiful beach! My only complaint, was numerous guests that vacation there frequent, took well advantage of staff, eating at special restaurant over and over and tying up all chairs on beach. There needs to be a better system, to ensure all guests get to enjoy all amenities! People actually had to wake at 6am to go stand in line to make dinner reservations, and were still turned away, because somehow these guests were booking over and over for 12 guests at a time. Other than that, resort is definitely on the older side, but has character, and was a great trip

The food was less desirable. Maybe offer appetizers or cheese and crackers. Sandwiches for lunch instead of sliced turkey and cheese with no bread. More salad selections. Different pasta dishes. Breakfast was always cold unless you got an omelet.

Value resort so the rooms are outdated as are some common areas. Beds comfy though. There were quite a lot of easy updates that should be done that would go a long way. Food was okay… only 1 non buffet option that was a bit challenging to get into. Coffee shop was only coffee and tea… no fun coffee drinks and pastries as I’ve seen at other resorts but that was ok. Shout out to Delcia in the buffet for her help and smile, the omelet makers who were awesome and to the towel lady who was so pleasant. Now… the beach was phenomenal! Gorgeous spot, pretty easy to get chairs, not crowded, views spectacular. Staffing was hit or miss .. bar staff seemed short staffed and a bit grumpy …dining staff and front desk was mostly nice and helpful. Easy to get taxi service to get around the island.

The resort is so outdated, not clean, the food is horrible, only buffet place to eat or one restaurand for dinner that if you want reservation you need to go wait online outside at 7:30am for the same day, also they had conventions of bike club with many fellons some criminals,my phone didn't work the whole stay they never came to fix it so the internet wifi didn't worked the whole stay, i could't even ask for towels and they have no room service, the pool was too cold, people are friendly.

Rooms were absolutely terrible. Understaffed, did not get room service entire trip. Called for room service and was told staff isnt on the clock yet. The bathroom was filthy, had to clean it myself and the amenities are a bit outdated. We also experience a power outage and was not notified unless you went to the desk to complain. The staff was overall pleasant and the beach is a great view. I do not recommend staying here

As I read from previous reviews, rooms are small and run down, not spotless, but overall clean. The food is good, the cocktails are fabulous (not the wine though), the staff are lovely and the beach and swimming pools are amazing. To me it was worth it just for the beach.

Will not go back. This whole resort needs renovations with major updates. Friendlier staff would be nice. 1 restaurant and you have to make reservations at the desk the morning of and they have a very limited number they except. The buffet is less than appealing, there is about 7 things to choose from to eat and that’s it. They do not help with food allergies (gluten free), they say “we don’t cater to that”. There is nothing to do here, there is a swim up bar but it’s never open, you have to get out and go to the bar up top. The beach is about the only things that’s good here! If your looking for low key sit around and do nothing with very old rooms than this is the place for you!

Beautiful beaches, rooms were basic, maybe in need of a refresh. Were clean (ish) on arrival however on a 10 day stay there is only one clean.
Most of the staff were friendly, smiley and couldn’t do enough to help, others it was though I was an inconvenience, no consistency between the reception staff and what I was being told by one seemed like a huge issue to another.
Coconut grill was very slow, sometimes taking 40 mins or more for a burger and fries.
Wide variety of food and plenty to choose from

Looks ok from the outside. Checked in Thursday afternoon informed front desk no hot water. waiting 24 hrs for another room after 3 trips to front desk. second room was ok but no light in the hallway and stairs area. complaint twice before they replaced the light but left the burnout ones on the floor. same whenever you need something. we had to repeatedly ask front desk for towels sometimes 3 times before they delivered it. door was good however sometimes when you are seated and go for your food upon return they give your seat to someone else.

My stay was restful and pleasant as planned. The staff was mostly friendly and accommodating. There was initially a wifi issue but that was quickly resolved once reported.
The food wad delicious although i would suggest more variety.
The room was very clean.
I enjoyed the amenities altgough i wish there was a jacuzzi.
Nightly entertainment was available but i would have loved it to be more diverse: local dancing, steel pan music, a real Caribbean experience.

This was listed/rated as a 3-star All Inclusive resort. our 5 day stay there was a 3 star stay, so we were not disappointed.

The registration was slow, but OK. The room very small, but clean. The bathroom had a nice shower with good pressure and hot water. The bed was comfortable. The room could definitely use a renovation/update, but was 3-star worthy.

The grounds were well kept, but dated and would have been really nice in 1979 when built.

The food was plentiful and good; that said, get to meals early as they don't generally restock on a timely basis, at least. Get there early to \"The Palms\" to get the best selection.

The Pizza Factory service was outstanding. Food was good with a limited menu. It's not all pizza.

The entertainment was worthy of \"older\" guests...not a nightclub atmosphere. Relaxing.

The beach was truly magnificent.

Most of the staff were 3-star...adequate. Accommodating but not overly or outwardly friendly. Except at the Pizza factory, where everyone we encountered was superb. The 2 waterfront attendants lack personality and did not seem to enjoy work.

Staff at Coconut Grill and the adjacent bar were good...but maybe a bit overworked, or, at least, not in any hurry to do their job.

We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider going back. If you want a super attentive 5-star contemporary extremely well kept resort...this is not it. It's serviceable, clean, and value driven. It's not bad at all, but manage expectations.

Our stay at Jolly beach was anything BUT Jolly. The rooms were severely outdated, doors off hinges or did not close, door knobs loose and hanging off doors. Our inital greeting walking into the resort was attitude and like we were bothering them. Food was disgusting,and limited and some nights nothing was left by 6:30pm. People were yelling this was worse then a homeless shelter\" food that did come out was cold. No emergency kits when asked for a bandaid we were told they had none. The best part was when we asked very nicely for FRESH towels and inquired why our room wasnt cleaned? We were told \"DIDNT YOU GO TO ORIENTATION ?\" Which we didnt bc WE WERE NOT TOLD AT CHECK IN! So we did not that it was OUR FAULT and not theirs. We asked for towels never received them. Had to ask again 3 hrs later FINALLY GOT TOWELS!!!! Check out was also an issue its like everyone is just miserable there. Coming from working with the public in the states this is NOT how we greet and treat paying customers. I can say we will not be going back to Jolly beach resort. I will also be calling expedia.

Probably the worse resort on Carribien IslandsThis is a motel in the terrible condition . It is at least 45 years old and was never renovated. No chair, no fridge , no bottle of water in the room.They don't clean your room unless you pay extra, Food is horrible plus very limited and not sufficient quantality If you don't come by the the beginning of breakfast or lunch or dinner 30 minutes later plates are empty . And they barely refill them). They run out of everything burgers, fries etc . terrible quality local alcohol in the bars.Service is not good at all ( they are doing you a favor ). Beach is good but has no service ( not even life guards ) on the beach. You definitely can find a better place with a good beach for your money. NEVER again experience . Absolutely NOT SUITABLE for DISAABLE people. No accommodations at all . Plus steep step to get into the sea on the beach. Find a better place. You deserve it. Antugua is a nice island but overpriced and overrated

Check in was not very welcoming. Instructed to scan a QR code and fill in the information yourself. We were not made familiar with the basics, for example where were the public washrooms on the resort, where do we get beach towels, where are the restaurants and their hours? We were not told about the orientation meeting that takes place the following morning, but there is a sign at the tour desk that will tell you about it, if they remember to display it, which they did not. Most of the resort information was gained by fellow visitors. There is a lot of walking and stairs, so ask about room location when booking and disclose any mobility issues in advance. The food was really good, providing an array of choices at the buffet and wait staff were delightful.

Great beach. Sometimes hard to get a drink bc most bars close or staff aren’t attentive. Never had anyone clean the room or bring towels (we grabbed our own from housekeeping cart).

Food was fine… only able to eat at buffet though. Fine resort if you want to hang at the beach..
