The only disappointments was there no beverages in the room and very limited access to the specialty restaurants. The view was great as was the weather. Room was nice. Great choice in pools if you’re willing to walk. Resort is somewhat remote. Most of staff were very friendly.

Beachfront room 308. Lovely modern room, very clean and comfortable bed. Lovely large modern bathroom with great shower. The only complaint with the room is soundproofing…. You can hear the neighbors very very clearly… We had an early wake up call from their young child before 7am most mornings. So ear plugs are a must.

This room was Atlantic side so there was a seaweed problem on the beach, however there were teams of people working tirelessly to clear it away. Didn’t detract too much from the enjoyment. It was very peaceful here. The main beach in the bay is VERY busy and almost impossible to get a sunbed as people put their towels very early in the morning… 🙄.

We tried all restaurants except Picolo Mondo. All were pretty good. Stand outs for us was the à la cart Rainbow Room in the evening and Cocos in the evening. Both were excellent meals.

There’s music/bands most evenings but it finishes quite early at 9.30pm. Then people tend to go the other Bar area which I found awful personally - karaoke, etc. Not island feeling at all, felt more like a socia club. Not our vibe, but a lot of people enjoyed it and it’s open till 1am, if you want to dance etc.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. Very relaxing. Used the gym also, which was very well equipped, air conditioned and had water, towels and a shower.

Unfortunately the seaweed was in the water and we did not have access to the beach and had to use the bay which has murky water. Rooms need updating. The staff was phenomenal and the food was good. Extremely difficult getting reservations at the restaurants.

Beach had lots of seaweed which I know can’t be helped but resort should offer transportation to another beach for the day. Grounds and facility could use some lightbulbs as a lot of areas were dark to navigate. Nothing to do after dinner and had plenty of area in hotel where they could have had a band or music. Guests walking around after dinner looking for something to do. Food was delicious in the Docksider Rest and Rainbow Resturant. Eleven 11 resturant not so good . Also should offer some snacks at pool . We did have beautiful weather

When checking in, no info was given about property, no maps and nothing offering excertions etc.The food was good, but found it difficult to get reservations at the restaurants that needed them. No nightlife after dinner!!. Property had many many lights not working along pathways during the evening which made it difficult to see. Rooms were clean, but need to be updated. Pool area was never attended, dirty glssses everywhere! Excellent staff!

We were told we were upgraded to a villa. The villa was located at the opposite end of the property far away from the center of the resort where all restaurants and activities were. The villa was not clean when we got there. The shower curtain was in the sink, the floors and the kitchen were dirty and there were no comforters on the bed. The staff at the front desk were rude (specifically the evening shift). They were not accommodating at all. I would not recommend this resort to anyone.

Amazing! I will never understand how anyone could give this place lessthan 5 stars. Staff was great and would go out of their way to help you, rooms cleaned more than they say, always a beach chair and towels, always a restaurant and bar to go to and good food. The only downside was how rude some of the guests are to the staff. These people should keep theor negative attitude towards themselves. Be sure to tip these lovely ladies and gentlemen as much as possible. All inclusive doesnt mean you shouldnt show respect.

I was extremely disappointed with the way the beaches/ bay on the property were advertised vs what we met when we arrived. The bay is completely covered in sea grass you can’t see through the water. There were no swim-able beaches.
Most of the staff was helpful and kind. We wanted to do the catamaran tour however the tour person was not there for two days in a row and no one else could assist.
The food was good minus the Caribbean buffet night the food left more to be desired. Overall I would not stay here again, a resort on the south side would have been way more enjoyable.

We never write reviews for anything ever, but our recent experience at St. James Club Antigua was so surreal and unbelievably awful that we felt compelled to warn other guests so they don’t get scammed like we did. This resort blatantly lies and false advertises what they actually offer. Just compare their website or Instagram page to what recent guests say. This place has a lot of nerve charging full all-inclusive prices when most of their amenities are not available OR included.

We regrettably stayed here in early August 2025. Both beaches were closed due to thick brown patches of putrid, rotting seaweed; 2 of 6 pools were either empty or half full of water; all pools are extremely tiny and difficult to find (no signs or decent lighting to direct you around the resort); no convenient place to get snacks or drinks at any of the pools/beaches; most restaurants and bars were closed “for renovation” or only operating on limited schedules with limited menus; customer service is nonexistent and all requests go ignored; rooms are dirty and stink like rotten eggs; no entertainment at all during the day or night at the resort; water and soft drinks are NOT included; the only air conditioned spot in the entire resort is the gift shop, which closes at 6pm sharp. And honestly the list goes on and on. No wonder everyone looked so miserable here - because we all were!

This resort is a cesspool and a complete scam. Run far away and stay anywhere else if you know what’s good for you.

Antigua is a beautiful island, my mother's homeland. Overall, the experience was good but this resort lacks in the food selection. I came to Antigua to experience Caribbean cuisine but most of the food options were American and not that good. The staff were very accommodating and the room was spacious and cozy.

It’s a beautiful property and very family friendly. There’s several dining options, pools, and tons of activities to do. It’s not necessary to leave the hotel for activities, but if you do everything is right at your fingertips from rental cars, tours, excursions you name it and it’s available to you. The employees are very hospitable and friendly. We stayed in a 2bdrm villa and loved it. Very spacious with plenty room for kids to move about. Beach is nice with plenty of chairs and shade to sit under. The only downside to the beach is seaweed, but you’re still able to swim and enjoy it. The food options were ok!!!! The buffet options were good not great and there are specialty dining options available for an additional cost. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a laid back, quiet and friendly place to vacation.

The property was very large and only about half full so there was a lot of privacy. Plenty of beach loungers and space. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The food could have a little more variety as the buffet meals became a little redundant at the end. Although they had a few vegetarian options nothing was labeled vegetarian in the buffet so I always had to ask, although the restaurants where you ordered food the items were identified on the menu. The bay was very calm and perfect for water sports and swimming but the algae and seaweed made it hard to snorkel as the visibility wasn’t great. Overall as a family we enjoyed our stay but if I was to return to Antigua I would probably go somewhere that had a better beach for snorkelling.

We stayed in a 3 bedroom villa with our 3 daughters. The room was excellent. Large rooms with walk-in closests and bathrooms with bedroom. There was a large private patio and a private 2nd story deck. The kitchen had full size refrigerator, microwave , stove and coffee maker. the dinning room/ living room had a table that seated 8 comfortably, TV with couch, 2 wing backchairs and a coffee table. The patio/deck had 2 (4 person) table sets and 2 lounge chairs. Beds were comfortable.

The resort location is stunning! Surrounded by mountsins, ocean and lush foliage, it is an oasis. The rooms are clean but dated. The dinner buffet food is slightly above average at best. The breakfast buffet was great. Lunch options were poor and mainly bar type foods. There are restaurants in site that require a reservation that we were able to eat at twice which were really good. But they were closed most nights. The service was good. Overall the trip was great but this is not a resort I would consider all inclusive destination due to the food.

Is around 45 mins for airport if you are looking to explore the island you definitely need a rental car if not taxi to and from is easy. You can have a perfectly nice relaxing vacation at the resort.

I purchased a two bed room, I was given one with a king bed and a portable bed which was too small for my son and not health for any kind of back condition. Bathrooms are not very clean and arranged weird (see pictures).

Food was the same in all restaurants...........
I had to leave three days before the purchased check out date due to death in family and the management coldheartedly denied any reimbursement.

Seaweed everywhere and workers were at the beach all day basically not cleaning the seaweed but enjoying a smoke and joke.....

St. James club is a very pretty property with a beautiful beach on a very calm bay which makes it ideal for families with young children and also people who want to try out the water sports available. One negative thing was that we chose St James because of their water sports specifically Hobie's. First be aware they are 14' and well used. They were down to 2 boats and only allowed limited time out on them. Bailey worked with us but this limitation was a disappointment.

This property has an ocean side and a bay side.
The winds were blowing on the ocean side everyday in March, of course. So the bay side was a great alternative. This is a great place with very friendly and helpful staff. We can’t wait to go back.

Loved this resort. Too much to do! I enjoyed the staff and how kind they were at the front desk. The food was AMAZING and theyre are plenty of options. I almost wish we didnt plan things off resort (but antigua has SO MUCH to offer, we will just have to come back again!)
Only a few concerns:
always check your reservation is being honored accurately, qnd call ahead to confirm. We requested 2 double beds and were given a single king and I had to sleep on a couch the whole time. (This was after a 2 hour delay getting into our room bevause they werent cleaned and ready for 3 pm check in)
The wifi is VERY limited outside of lobby and room and some areas do not have the greatest lighting (such as the main pool at night).
My biggest concern: The staff at the water sports area did make me uncomfortable. One guy specifically could not take a hint and asked me multiple times for my \"instagram\" or to \"get to know me.\" He was also pushy with us doing the first activity when we wanted to relax before going out on the water. I kept telling him no very clearly to his remarks but I was so uncomfortable (it was just me and my mom). We left to go do other things ay the resort and didnt go on the boat or snorkle like we wanted to.

The staff was impressive as to how friendly and hard working they are. The amount of work it takes to feed so many people such a large selction of food every day was something that my husbandv and I marveled at, and he was a miiitary chef for over 3 decades! I really liked the adults only pool with the fountain and bar - very relaxing and quiet. The only thing that was an issue for me personally with arthritis in my legs is that there is a lot of up and down walking and the hotel/club is quite spread out. But it is possible to call and get one the staff in their mortarized carts to take you where you need to go at St. James Club. All and all it was a wonderful experience!

We enjoyed our recent stay at the St James Club. While it's location is not walkable for outside-resort activities, it's close enough for taxis or car rentals to visit many places. We rented a car for the day via the property and it was great. Staff are friendly, but not quick (not expected, honestly). The facilities are quite good.

The property is lovely. However, most of the staff seemed to be put out if you asked for things, such as asking for coffee with your breakfast. The bartender lady at the main lobby bar, provided the slowest service I have ever seen. The laundry services is NOT same day - it was 2 days and they double charged. Piccolo's is not worth money, the food is meh at best and the wine is over priced and not included with the meal.

This place is a beautiful setting, unfortunately the week we were there we got crazy wind, which kept us from doing a lot of outside activities. Our fishing trip was canceled due to the wind.
Our housekeeper was great. The waiters at the breakfast buffet were great, unfortunately the waiters at the other restaurants were on the lousy side.
This resort only serves one kind of beer and I believe it’s what the owner makes. If you want something different, you have to go buy it.

Walked in to a half drinkin water bottle and also hair all over the tub and the tub was re painted over which is fine but there was OLD hair painted into the tub. Some kind of dust in every corner of the bathroom. I have pictures of it all and complained while there.

Really nice property. We enjoyed that it was spread out over many acres and was not crowded at all. We enjoyed a very relaxing week. My biggest complaint would be the unfriendly staff in the restaurants. Most of them acted like we were a bother to them. I will say that the cleaning staff was very friendly. Also, our bed was horrible. Definitely Ned’s to be replaced.

The location and view of the resort was beautiful. It was quiet and very relaxing. It was clean. The gym was excellent.

The refrigerator in the room was not stocked with water or pop. The Diet Coke was terrible. The calibration was off. It was always flat. If we wanted to stock our fridge we had to purchase the beverages we wanted. A can of Diet Coke was $2.33 US. It was not much better than the fountain pop.

There was no staff to serve drinks on the beach. Not a big deal but noted.

The resort supposedly is 4 stars.... Buffet and all the restaurants serve the same food... Chicken curry is not for everyone .... To top it off we had mice on our room which took 12 hr response from the stuff to change our room. We are not a health insp but we think mice inside your room is disgrace!! this is our fourth time on the island, but this is the worse place we ever experience. Stay away!!

Review: Appalling Service and Lack of Care at St. James’s Club Antigua

My stay at St. James’s Club Antigua was distressing due to the shockingly poor treatment I received after falling ill. On day four, I suffered severe food poisoning and became dangerously dehydrated. I called reception three times and spoke to different staff members, pleading for water. Despite this being an all-inclusive resort, I was refused water each time. I even offered to pay for it but was told that the hotel only provides one 500ml bottle of water on the first day of the stay—an outrageous policy.

In desperation, I started walking up the steep hill from my room, wearing a nightdress and slippers, but the pain in my stomach was unbearable. When I couldn’t go any further, I begged a security guard for water. He ignored me, walking away and leaving me slumped over a fence, weak and in agony.

On day three of my illness, I managed to speak with a duty manager. To my disbelief, I was told I should have been drinking water from the faucet in my room. However, the faucet was rusty and corroded, and I didn’t feel it was safe to drink from, especially in my already fragile state.

The indifference and lack of compassion from the staff were nothing short of appalling. No guest should ever be treated this way, particularly when unwell. This experience turned what was meant to be a relaxing holiday into a nightmare.

I strongly urge management to reconsider their policies and address these issues to ensure

The place was outstanding, the only bad experience was at check in. I notice guests were welcomed with a drink and we did not. The employee at reception just called out my room number but explained nothing. We left to find the room ourselves. The rest of employees were super friendly, the accommodation clean and I would recommend to everyone and come back again. Loved the excursions offered too right in the resort.

property was clean and most of the staff was super friendly. hotel is starting to show the signs of wear and tear. it was very quiet when we went, so wasn't crowded. Breakfast was the same everyday. literally everyday. a few times we skipped breakfast and just waited till lunch because we were tired of eating the same thing everyday. lunch and dinner was good. dinner was the best, i do recommend booking reservations for the restaurants they are worth it. but all around it was a good stay
