CLOSED FOR BUSINESS

We can’t rate this hotel as when arrived wet, hungry and tired after a 22 mile walk the Old Hall Inn was CLOSED FOR BUSINESS and has been since January 2025!! We booked this last October 2024 but no one thought to let us know

We are really not impressed with the service Then to add insult to injury Hotels.com asked us to review our non-existent stay

We have yet to hear from Hotels.com with an explanation or at the very least an apology

Had a lovely stay went for the 1940’s weekend at Grassington bed very comfy, quiet, really good breakfast , staff friendly only one complaint we ate on the evening in the conservatory but the floor was full of dog hair, yes I get I’m in a country pub that allows dogs but I honestly wanted to get a soft brush and give it a good sweep and not having a dog would of preferred to have eaten our evening meal in the pub area would I stay here again the answer is yes but I would request to not eat in the conservatory

A very old property requiring a lot of TLC. Staff worked ver hard and food was excellent and large menu, breakfasts brilliant. Bathroom needed TLC. Some non- slip material needed for step leading from shower, plus possibly hand rail(we are elderly but useful for all)Outside could be smartened up, front door(very old)could be restored to original condition.

The room was not as nice as in the pictures on the website. There was dirt in the bathroom from a sky light window which had something growing on it, the shower door kept swinging in on you whilst showering, wasnt fotted right. Breakfast was nice but only served between 8 snd 9, we got down at 8.40am had cooked breakfast but wanted some toast for afters but because it was 9.10am they had cleared everything away and said breakfast was finished. We also had dinner in the restaurant one evening at 19.30hrs. The main meal was very nice, we asked for a jug of water but never got it, we waited for the desert menu but it never came so we went to the bar and asked for it and was told the kitchen was closed this was 20.50hrs, very disappointed as i was looking forward to it. We waited at the bar to ask for some more teabags for the room, was ignored for a while then someone noticed us and gave us some. Also there is limited parking, do not park under the trees as your car gets absolutely bombarded with Rooks poo and its nearly impossible to get off. The lady at breakfast was kind enough to give me some soapy water to wash it off.

The Old Hall Inn is a lovely pub with lots of character, The staff were very friendly & helpful, the food was very nice with good portions, the room we has was a decent size, with a smallish bathroom, but was still nice, comfortable bed. Very nice breakfast, would definitely stay here again, thank you Danny & the team for the nice stay

Old Yorkshire hotel in a nice location for walkers

Nice location , about a 15 minute drive to Skipton.
The hotel is in need of a touch up, elegant old building but with wallpaper papering over the cracks .
Our room was spacious, however, everything creaked and we could hear the next room along as clear as day .
I’m not sure what the set up is with bar staff and the guests, we didn’t receive any hellos or goodbyes when we went in and out . We were ignored and found it unfriendly so decided not to eat there,, we went for breakfast 8-9 even on a Sunday , no one about to hand our keys to when we left summed it up.
The food seems to be good, they had a party of 33 in the first night so could only offer an early slot, there is not much to do in this location apart from walk so we eat in Skipton .

Overall we had a good stay. The breakfast and breakfast service was excellent. The bathroom of the family room is very small but the experience could be improved with a few changes. It's a family room but only one towel hook in the bathroom - maybe add more. Also the toilet doesn't have a lid. This would have been the only place to put clothes due to the space so fixing this would be good. The noise of the generator kept me awake as it was warm over the weekend so we needed the window open. This might not bother others though. I asked the man who showed us to the room if the pub menu was included in the folder in the room. He thought it was but it wasn't there. I would suggest adding it as we may have been tempted to eat there if it was included. Maybe included some other local information and recommendations too. It is a lovely Inn and we enjoyed our stay. The beds and bedding were lovely.

Very small room, bathroom extremely small, sink was a cloakroom sink, door didnt open fully and the space wasnt much bigger than a cloakroom toilet. Bed mattress was lumpy and bumpy and the divan part moved so had a dip in middke of bed. Service for morning breakfast was not the best, they forgot to set the table for us on the last day and when they did set it half if the utensils and condiments was missing. Food was below average. Would not recommend this as there is no one in the bar of an evening and had to drive to get anywhere else.

Dan the manager was excellent to work with, the bar area is excellent and so was every meal I had. What impressed me was the fact that we couldn’t hear any noise from the bar in our room above it. The amenities in the rooms are less than what you’d get in a standard hotel but that’s to be expected I guess for a small inn in the countryside. There is a fantastic little store with fuel within a five minute walk so you can get almost anything needed for a short trip.

Base to explore the Dales

Stayed for 3 nights exploring the Dales, the comfort double was a bit smaller than expected in terms of room size. Towel rail was loose, but staff were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast was included and plenty of choice, very accommodating to veggie options.

A good place outside Grassington

Cozy & cute, and a great place for a respite amidst a larger journey. The shower was great, and my mom & I liked that the toilet closet was separate from the rest of the washroom (although the toilet needs some attention: it never fully flushed all the way). The breakfast was lovely, and it was much easier to get to (and park) here than in downtown Grassington. I would recommend clarifying check-in & check-out procedures, as I was not clearly instructed on how to do either & felt like I was floundering a bit.

Old Hall Inn was fabulous

Lovely stay at Old Hall Inn. The reception when we arrived was friendly and efficient and our room was clean and comfortable with everything you would need. It was also quiet and we were not disturbed at all. After settling in we went down to the bar for an evening meal which was delicious and freshly cooked, and the choice of food was excellent. Breakfast was served in the restaurant and like the evening meal was delicious. Old Hall Inn is certainly a place that we will return to again.

We had a comfortable and enjoyable stay at The Old Hall Inn, with a location that allowed easy exploration of this stunningly beautiful place. It was quiet and peaceful, the staff was helpful and pleasant. Breakfasts were wonderful. Just one small recommendation: replace the toilet seat (it was not attached on one side)! Nevertheless, we would stay here again.

Friendly, helpful and cheerful manager and staff. Clean and comfortable room, if a little 'tired' in places (and the toilet seat was VERY loose!). Pub food but very good (excellent steak and ale pie!), and great breakfast. Good choice of real ales (but no single malts!). Bar and dining area were a bit cold but the bedroom was cozy. An enjoyable stay and, again, all the staff were great.

The Old Hall Inn is a lovely old building with tons of charming character. However is does appear to have been allowed to have been unloved with lots of niggles needing minor repairs. The room we stayed is was quite noisy as you could hear the boiler coming on and off during the night. Also the music playing in the kitchen was loud. Food was okay but expensive for what it was. However, the included breakfast was excellent. We staying in room 4 which i think must have been one of the worst in the hotel. The bed was comfortable but the room was small with no chair, quite dark and as mentioned was noisy. The shower, though small delivered a medium flow but of good and consistent temperature

Lovely Country Pub/restaurant

This pub/restaurant has it all, ambiance, great service varied menu and a great location.

It was perfect way to celebrate my wife's birthday on our way home from a holiday in Scotland.
Had a drink in the sheltered beer garden and a great meal in the restaurant.
Breakfast, which is included is cooked fresh to order.
Only minor issue being the bathroom which was small and could do with modernising. Otherwise 5 stras

Fantastic place, highly recommended!

Friendly welcome, clean and well equipped room with tea and coffee etc. A beautiful little dog-friendly pub with a very good menu at sensible prices. This place was recommended to us to try and we weren't disappointed. What really stood out was the quality - and quantity - of the food, absolutely first class, and great service too. Then the breakfast next morning which was included, never had any better..! Will hope to definitely be back sometime, would recommend the Old Hall Inn to anyone.

We stayed here because of its proximity to Grassington and All Creatures Great and Small association! The staff at the Old Hall Inn were very efficient - especially Dan, who did it all - Bartender, Chef, all-around good guy! Parking was easy and available. Breakfast was superb! The room we had was easily accessible up one flight of stairs, clean and well-supplied. We were concerened that it might be noisy being right above the bar, but it was just fine! Downtown Grassington is an easy mile stroll away, and the area has many beautiful hikes along the rivers and hills of the Yorkshire Dales.

The breakfast times were very strict 8 till 9 with no possibility of change despite offering a breakfast in the pub for the general public from 9:30. With that said the bar staff and waitresses were very friendly and the pub menu was very comprehensive and reasonably priced. They also did small portions which was a very good addition to the menu. Overall was a nice experience and dog friendly.

Warm welcome taken to our room ,Very clean and fresh decided straight away we had made a good choice. flull 6ft wide bed. Towels in bathroom changed daily. A good place to stay near Grassington

The bedroom was cozy, clean & warm.
The en-suite wasn’t ideal, the sink was tiny with a shelf above which made it extremely difficult to clean teeth, wash etc. The shelf was loose on one side & sloped downwards so had to be careful as things slid off it.
Breakfast was great, lots to choose from, the beans could have been a bit hotter!
If you aren’t a dog lover don’t book here. During the day dogs are not allowed in the restaurant giving people a choice of where they want to sit, but at breakfast they can go in the restaurant, where breakfast is served, so you don’t get a choice!

Cosy stay in a quaint village

The food was exceptional. We are vegan and had the veg jalfrezi and pasta arrabiata. Nicely timed to warch the rugby in the bar too. Impressed with drink selection, including Neck Oil. Stayed with our dog (only a few of the rooms are dog friendly - check their website). Bed was very comfortable. Vegan breakfast was great and other guests full englishes looked very tasty. Improvement would be filter coffee or bean to cup instead of instant with the breakfast. Spar is 2 minutes walk away and well stocked. Will definitley return!

Didn’t have an evening meal but breakfast was amazing. I had Salmon Benedict and it was exceptional.
Would most definitely recommend staying here.
Only 2 things was we stayed in another building behind the pub of which the front door didn’t lock which would of been nice and felt a little safer (however there was a proper door lock on the room) and we couldn’t find the WiFi code in the room. I would advise getting this from the pub first.

This was such a lovely place to stay. We were in a cottage outbuilding, which In snowy weather was cosy and so warm at all times, with an excellent shower. We were just in time for the Christmas menu, and had a lovely evening meal, and great breakfasts. Very much recommend the smoked haddock for breakfast! Thank you so much, Howard and Nicky.
