I booked this hotel specifically as it said onsite parking. When we arrived there was no where to park. We had to park in a pay and display get up at the crack of dawn to buy another ticket so we didn't get a fine. Not happy.

Comfy, clean and easy - just what I needed

Lovely stay, easy to find (Google maps) despite being tucked back from the main road, car park was small ish but just about adequate whilst I was there and I was able to park for free in a town centre location, big plus. Check-in very easy, staff very efficient and knowledgeable. Room was great, small kitchenette with sink and microwave next to the bed was a bit odd but I'm sure helpful to some even though I didn't use them this stay. My only negative and reason for 4 instead of 5 stars was having to go out back through a service area to reach the room I was assigned. It caused no real problem for me and was secure (behind locked gates so no public access) but was a bit of a disconnect from the amazing sprawling venue inside that they appear to have done so much work on to make look and feel amazing. Great stay, reasonable to competitive price against other local options when booking the day before staying as I did, would definitely stay there again.

My friend didn’t stay because the bottom sheet had dried bloodstains on it, she used the shower to freshen up, if you want me to keep this to myself I want a better rate offered to me for another stay otherwise I will feel compelled to share it, I will be in your hotel to speak to the manager within an hour or two. Awesome stay. Cool little room with everything you could want, nice and quiet (on a Wednesday night). Car park was full when I arrived but there is free evening parking nearby so there was no issue. Walkable to shops and pubs/restaurants. Will be back. Oh, also staff was excellent and they had liquid dnb playing in the lobby in the evening. Loved it.

On arrival staff were welcoming and friendly.
There was not a lot of parking available, however staff shuffled around a few cars and parked my car for me. Really nice touch. There was a disco going on and a nice happy atmosphere.
Our room no.25 - lovely big bed and had everything we needed. Nice touch with the fridge, microwave, toaster, plates etc and tea / coffee making facilities. Room was clean.
Our room overlooked the pub garden which was an experience, tinted windows would be better as we had to keep closing the curtains - no privacy. We stayed for 2 nights and went to the races on Saturday- there is a complimentary bus from outside the Unico restaurant around the corner which was a bonus.
The location of the hotel is perfect for the town - right in the middle and races which is 5 mins up the road.
The only downside was the cleaning staff shouting loudly at each other which woke us up on the first morning, crashing around. Also there was a smoking bin outside our window so staff smoking and loudly talking made our room smell of cigarettes.
I would suggest staff don’t discuss previous guests, rooms, what they did last night and other staff in customer facing areas and be mindful they can be heard.
Discos on Friday and Saturday night but this didn’t keep us awake
The garden was lovely to sit out in the sunshine - lots of seating outside and in covered pods.
Great location, friendly bar staff, lovely room
I would stay again as long as cleaning staff weren’t so noisy

The Kings Hotel Newmarket.

The room was clean, tidy and bright.
The only thing I will say is the size of the room is quite small. The bathroom was well laid out, but again a bit on the small size.
The host couldn't have been more helpful.
I would have like a proper breakfast but the offer of a breakfast box was on offer, which I didn't take up so can't comment on that.

DO NOT BOOK room 31 or 32, they are incredibly noisy. Impossible to sleep from 7am onwards, and as late as 2am, the doors are constantly banging shut, with people coming and going.

Amazing find!

One night stay after a visit to the races, was made to feel welcome from the moment we walked in. We thought the hotel had only just opened as it was so trendy, clean & tidy and free from any damages that we could see!
Food was delightful, service was so good considering they were planning a party for Halloween also.
Have never felt so welcome at a hotel.
Will most definitely want to stay again!

Fabulous location, fabulous staff, lovely garden. Room very comfy but bathroom tiny and shower not great. Would stay again just for the staff team who were excellent. They couldn’t do enough for us. Free electric car (Tesla) charging too which was a bonus.

Booked this hotel as we were going to Newmarket races to see Pete Tong. The hotel is central to Newmarket and there is a coach to take and collect us to the races. The hotel was expensive for what it was, but it was a race day so I guess they can charge this. We did manage to get a parking space outside the hotel, which was really good.

Our room was only accessible via fire escape type stairs, not very good if you have had a drink.

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. We really appreciated having air-conditioning as it was a hot evening the room was boiling and it allowed us to have a good night sleep. It’s a shame that our room did not include breakfast given the amount of money we paid.

The shower was not very good as it was in a bath and it was difficult to get the correct temperature, and the water pressure wasn’t great.

If the shower was better then we would’ve given this hotel a better star rating.

That said the bed was comfortable and we slept well.

We stayed at Kings as it was near to Newmarket racecourse. The hotel was very welcoming we stayed in room 15 which was a good size room it was clean and the bed was very comfy. The staff were all friendly & helpful. We'd definitely stay here again.

Good friendly clean hotel. No breakfast and parking very limited but all good. Probably wouldn't book again due to the parking but im a 'parking snob' and have a LWB van so after a 12 hour day dont want to be walking half a mile to my hotel plus have the van on the side of the street. But hotel all good 4* stars

My stay was Dec 26-29, booked months in advance. When booked was not told that restaurant would be closed during my entire stay!
Also during my stay, hotel management limited access.
Also room window was such that could not latch at bottom, needs repair.
I've been very pleased with my previous stays there, though this time I was less mpressed!

Great location - near shops and handy for the race meeting with courtesy bus pick. Negatives. No onsite breakfast. The room lacked storage space, very cramped, and had a moisty smell.
On site disco was noisy and not mentioned when booking.

Classic older hotel in the centre of town

Alll good. An older hotel in the centre of Newmarket but everything worked well. Had dinner in their restaurant one night and it was excellent. Only issues...the bed was shorter than I am used to and at only 5 foot eight I had to be careful to keep my feet from going over the edge. Not advised for tall people. Some rooms face a nightclub across a small courtyard and sensitive ears might not like the noise which while not excessive and not a problem to us might annoy some.

Kings had everything we needed for an overnight stay and at a very reasonable price.
Clean room with huge bed, small but decent shower, tea & coffee making with plenty of supplies, plus a microwave, fridge, kitchen sink, crockery & cutlery. Also hairdryer, iron and ironing board.
Central location, taxi rank just across the road.
Staff were very helpful, polite and friendly.
Would definitely use again if we're in the area.

Racing weekend in Newmarket

Just off the high street, so great location. Very limited parking so parked at the White Hart across the road, which was OK. Nice little hotel, rooms are very small but comfortable and contain everything you need. Stayed on horse racing weekend which I guess that was why the room price was so high, otherwise it would have been expensive for the standard of room.

Upon entering the hotel the hotel lobby and stair area corridors and in much need of repair and refreshing although the room was clean and the bed was comfortable he was all a bit dated the noise when we returned at night was awful thumping noise went on till late downstairs and then afterwards there was people talking and shouting outside and doors banging in the corridors I’m afraid it wasn’t a very pleasant stay TV remote didn’t work Parking was a major problem considering the priceYou pay and charge for this room I don’t think it was value for money

Loved the location, friendly staff and you were always going to get a 5* review from me in the back if facilities in the room ie fridge and the fact that you are the ONLY hotel I have stayed in that has fresh milk. You have no idea what a difference that made to my stay. Rooms were great and couldn't have been any closer to the attractions we were there to see on this stay. We will absolutely be back to stay again!

Good sized clean room with comfortable bed. Dressing room and fridge were a bonus.
Hand sink in shower room was leaking. This was reported on arrival but was not fixed during the stay, resulting in pools of water on the shower room floor.
Excellent location for High Street.
Would not advise stopping there if looking for quiet accommodation due to nightclub within the hotel. It was noisy until 2.30am on Friday and Saturday night. Also people attending the nightclub were rowdy and loud as they were leaving.

Not really premier. disco in the bar until 11.45 that you could hear in all the rooms not good at all. Very pricey on race days putting £100 on the normal price is not good. Definitely not a £200 per night hotel, cheaper in London than this hotel, and no breakfast included. Definitely will not be returning.

OK room except only one large bath towel.,none to use after washing your hair.
Tiny TV stuck in the corner of the room at completely wrong angle to watch without getting a stiff neck. Should be larger and at the end of the beds.
Not one disabled parking bay!!!
No one on reception when you check out.
Ridiculous that you can't put food and drink on your room
The place has been wrecked by moving the bar to reception leaving it the only place to sit and drink therefore absolutely no atmosphere

No mention of nightclub next door with thumping music until 4 am and rowdy crowd outside, hence no sleep and trip ruined. Loud music from the hotel itself until 1 am. Even the earplugs provided didn’t drown out the noise. No staff around on departure in the morning, reception locked up. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Great place to stay in Newmarket

Kings is located in the middle of Newmarket with parking on site. Staff were very helpful. I was a little alarmed when I arrived at my room as earplugs were provided . However I did not need them and slept perfectly well. I stayed in a non smoking en suite room with a comfy queen sized bed. Although there was no cooked breakfast on offer I was offered a breakfast box which I declined but I was then recommended a couple of places for breakfast nearby. If I was in the area again, I would not hesitate to stay again.

No mention of the nightclub next door or in the hotel itself. Clearly noisy as there were complimentary ear plugs in the room.

Cobwebs and odd red marks on the walls, of the minuscule room.

No option to refuse room service.

Major hike just to leave the hotel in the morning. Multiple doors, corridor turns to be able to leave.

Claims to have parking but not enough for all rooms. No mention of this in description. Had to park a few roads ago and to pay for it oneself!

Breakfast filled with sugar, zero luxury or nutrition quality.
