I very rarely complain, I was looking forward to staying at the hotel. When we arrived it was late and the lobby, empty, was fairly dark (which I understand given the time frame), it took fairly long awhile for someone to come to the front desk. I rang the desk bell a few times until eventually someone came. I understand that the hotel is older but the rooms were filthy (more so the bathroom), just dirty. We went for breakfast in the am that was suppose to be open until nine and we arrived at 8:30 with very limited to no options (no meat, fruit, items in fridge, bagels etc) and items were being cleaned up when we arrived (cereals, milk, pancake items etc). It was all ok but I think first impression was disappoint

This was a good option for a one night stay. One problem I found - South side door does not lock. It states that you need to use your key card to enter but I could just open the door and walk in. I tried this multiple times with the same result. Not safe for customers using this property. Management needs to correct this problem. Also, no early check-ins are allowed at this property.

I liked the peaceful setting of the Carlton- trees, flowers, quiet. Breakfast room was very pleasant, and the young woman supervising it was so friendly, a hard-worker, keeping everything tidy, clean.

Always stay here when I’m in town. Quiet!! Property is secluded with no other businesses, parking lots etc in the area. This probably used to be “the place” 30 years ago and it’s still that place! Slightly outdated which makes it nostalgic for me at age 55!! My daughter loves this place too. Great pool! In door even when it is winter!

Staff was nice, but the whole hotel needs major updating and renovations. There is no gym and it hasn’t been available for a long time so that should be removed from website. Breakfast was the same thing every day with no fruit, protein or yogurt. In terms of the room, bed/bedding was clean but the room itself was questionable as everything is old, run down making it look unclean and gross: carpet, bathtub, tiles, flooring, walls, doors.

After a mix up with our two rooms (they couldn’t see our second room) I showed online and we couldn’t get rooms together we got upgraded to the family suit since we had 6 of us.
The pool is extremely small and even though it looks advertised that the outside is open it’s not. We have been to a couple indoor/outdoor that are still open as we travel a lot for sports.
We were with wrestlers and the gym was temporarily closed they had to run the stairs and that was it.
Breakfast was good and everything was clean.

Staff came to clean only on day one. We declined and didnt see them again. I had to go to front desk to get toilet paper and towels . Was told hot breakfast but then told guy kept calling in. Lady that works nights is very sweet. Room was clean, price was affordable and the pool was open.

Check-in was very challenging. We arrived late and there was no one at the desk for 25 minutes. When we did get checked in, we were given keys for a room already occupied. The front desk clerk came running down the hall yelling that we were in the wrong place. We were then escorted to the opposite wing of the building which ended up being on the opposite side from where we were parked. The breakfast however was nice. The place is showing its age.

Electric hair dryer broke & was a fire hazard. (Had to convince front desk to allow us to use another room's dryer so my wife could dry her hair). Dog food kibble left around on floor (unvacuumed carpet), microwave interior was not cleaned, no towels in the room upon check-in (had to go to the desk to request)

Cheap price staff was nice, but had stains on bedding, 2 holes in the ceiling. One of the lights in the jackuzzi was out. There was pubic hair on toilet seat. The key card don’t work but if you move door handle hard enough the door just opens with out turning green. Outside doors don’t lock and easy access for anyone to get in. This hotel needs a upgrade it’s very outdated

I would give the staff 5 stars. Literally the best hotel staff. Incredibly helpful and understanding. With that being said that is kind of where the 5 stars stop. We check in got all the way to our room only to find a tub full of water. So back down to the desk we went and they put us in another room and explained that that side of the building was getting work done on the sprinklers. Then we get our new room and when we walk in the one sprinkler was out of the ceiling and there was insulation on the floor. Back down we went to get a new room. The third room was good but you get what you pay for. Uncomfortable bed and the bathroom wasn’t super clean. I did also see a cockroach on the floor in the lobby. I appreciate the staff but I don’t think I would stay there again.

Everything was okay until i awoke at 2 A.M. to find the temperature in the room was 63°. I didn't see a point in confiding with the desk at that time, so I retrieved my sleeping bag and got through the night. I went for some coffe in the dining area, sat down and witnessed a guy on his laptop sitting next to me smoking a thc vape. When I went to the front desk for checkout, I informed the representative about the heat not working in the room, she was apologetic, and told me she would speak to her supervisor about a discount for the inconvenience, but said there is no guarantee. A discount was never awarded and the odor of the thc vape was noticeable at the front desk. No professionalism or discipline regarding policy or rules.

The staff members I interacted with were superb. The cleanliness of my room. I’ll give a 6 out of 10. The bathroom cleanliness is a 4. The toilet was terrible from the hard water. The cleaning staff needs to use a little elbow grease. the ceramic floors were dirty. I purchased cleaning products to clean the bathroom and wipe down things that were not. The room stunk of something really spicy. I was there for 4 days. There were two unopened coffee packages on the floor behind the little fridge, who knows how long they were there.

The room was indeed spotless and beautifully maintained as was the whole facility. A very appealing lounge/hearth in the entrance lobby. The young lady manning the desk was very competent and pleasant. Breakfast was more than \"continental\", with much to choose from! I really wished I had planned to stay a few nights so I could have better enjoyed the excellent atmosphere.

Room was clean but are in need of being updated. The bed creaked when moving which was disappointing when turning over at night. The breakfast was pretty solid as opposed to reviews I had read as people stated the eggs weren’t real eggs but I can verify that they use real eggs as I watched the person manning the kitchen crack open several eggs and last time I checked, eggs from a box don’t come in shells. The biscuits and gravy was my go to though. Lastly, the staff was very friendly upon checking in and having the free breakfast.

I didn’t like the fact that if my plans changed that I was not able to get a refund for unused services, part of the group that also stayed there had issues with booking. Also one person was given a room that was not cleaned or fully stocked . The breakfasts were great and the cook was excellent, kept everything stocked, worked very hard. A great way to start the morning!

Perfect for AC Parents!

The breakfast was good!
My only complaint would be the loud kids in the pool area. But it’s not the hotels fault next time I will just ask for a room on the opposite side. They also had to change the type of room I asked for which was no big deal and I was glad they asked.
I also like the ice cream cart in the lobby!

We'd never stay here again. The jacuzzi tube's faucet leaked steadily all night. We didn't sleep well. When we asked for another room, the women at the front desk just stared at us like we just needed to deal with it. I asked her to contact management and never heard back from her after she said she'd get back to me. I guess all rooms were booked.

I stay here often. It’s older but very clean! Large isolated property sits far off the road with no neighboring businesses or adjoining parking lots. Very safe and very quiet. Free breakfast is not just bagels and cereal. Great breakfast! Clean dining room that is not in the lobby. This is a great deal for the price!! I always stay here when I come to Adrian.

BED BUGS—DO NOT STAY HERE

BED BUGS--DO NOT STAY HERE! Came here with my family to stay and after settling in, I saw a LARGE bed bug crawling on the bed near my feet.
This place obvi isn't the fanciest and we knew this, but there has to be a BAD infestation with seeing them this size..not sure how housekeeping hasn't noticed and/or addressed it but I am completely and utterly disgusted. We changed out of our clothes we got into bed with and left them all behind so we don't risk bringing the bugs back to our home! So not only did we lose money from the booking but also leaving our belongings behind and not to mention a HUGE inconvenience to have to pick up and leave at 10:30 pm unexpectedly. I will never return to this place and I will make sure all of Adrian and the surrounding areas know to STAY AWAY. Wish I could give zero stars, oh and it was room 122 we were in!

Didn’t come change the linens unless I asked, toilet had a black ring around it showed it to HK and didn’t bother to clean it, pillows are so old and trash was like sleeping without pillows! House keeping staff ( Lyndsey and Heather) are lazy always walking around on the phone or just standing around talking. Staff didn’t bother to acknowledge your presence! Would get out of the room say good morning and it was like I was talking to the wall! Very disappointing!!
