Nuestra estadía en el Hotel Moxy fue excelente. Nos encantó el ambiente del lugar; el cuarto estaba muy limpio, organizado y cómodo. Además, el hotel está excelentemente ubicado, a corta distancia de todo y especialmente del Funk Zone, con una gran variedad de cafés, restaurantes, breweries y wine tasting bars. Sin duda, lo que más destacamos fue la actitud y la atención del personal: siempre amables, atentos y con muy buena disposición. ¡Definitivamente lo recomendaríamos y volveríamos!

For us this hotel was all about the location, perfect for spending time in the Funk Zone. We enjoyed the heated pool, and our (albeit small) patio for a glass of wine at sunset. The rooms are small but decorated cute, the staff is friendly and attentive.

I had a great stay at Moxy in Santa Barbara! The room was spacious, clean, modern and a great value for the price. The location is perfect, ideal for exploring local breweries and wine tasting rooms.

The staff was incredibly friendly and professional, making check-in a breeze. I loved the unique vibe of the hotel. The check-in area is a bar and the lobby doubles as a game room. There’s also a commercial fridge, microwave, and complimentary coffee, tea, and even dog treats for all guests, which I thought was a nice touch.

Overall, Moxy was a great choice for my stay and if I ever visit Santa Barbara again, I'm definitely staying here.

Great location, but not great value for the price

This is a cute spot in a great location, but it is, in my opinion, very over priced for the value. Service was excellent, staff was great.They tell you on check in that the rooms are \"European style\" & \"Cozy\" and I'm sure they do this because people have complained. They are small room, not bad but small and boutique feeling. The bathrooms are crazy small, the shower and toilet share space and you flip a little glass door open to cover the toilet when showering. I could not turn around in the shower without the shower curtain catching me and then clinging to me... not my favorite. Very much like an RV shower in terms of space. Don't even dream of reaching all the way down to wash your feet. Additionally our room was on the freeway side and was INCREDIBLY loud with freeway directly outside of our window, all night noise. Bathroom door is glass and when my wife got up earlier than me to shower I was up too because the light from that door shines right at you in bed.

Great walking area close by. The price is why I would not stay again. I might for around half the price per night if I wanted to stay on more of a budget night with less of a room, but it was WAY overpriced for what I felt we got. I found myself wishing we had chosen a different hotel.

Not fully grasping the price/value. Other than that, nice and friendly staff, convenient to State Street, Funk Town, wharf, etc.

I knew the room would be small (as we got the smallest room they had), but it was barely walkable. About 8 inches to scoot between the wall and the bed. Everything was good quality and the bed itself was comfortable, but overall not worth the price paid. Usually you can justify the price with amenities, but this location doesn’t have a hot tub, or breakfast, etc.

Clearly an old hotel that was bought and renovated by Marriott. Unfortunately the renovations were surface level and clearly made with cost saving in mind. The mattresses were flimsy and caused back pain and the air conditioning unit was so noisy I could barely sleep for more than 15 minutes at a time. No headboards on the beds, just pillows hanging from a metal bar on the wall above the bed. The hotel was in a shady area close to several homeless encampments and across the street from a strip club. Will not be returning.

I stayed at this property when it was under its previous ownership which seemed much more appropriate than Marriott. Rooms are TINY, windows single pane and right next to railroad track. Pool seemed nice - didn't have time to go in but all other facilities and amenities off site. So given the price......

The room was tiny, the bathroom missing a hanger, the bunk bed was extremely dangerous, two loose handles, ladder slide off and the steps hurt the kid feet when climbing up/down, and when the bed down, the sharp corners if not careful will split someone head/face, and one of the closer door came loose! The property was also under construction so…

Welcome drinks and open kitchen for Publix use was a very nice touch, unfortunately weather was too chilly to use the nice outside amenities. Lots of breweries/winery within walking distance including some great restaurants. Hotel was very nicely designed and simple with a great ambiance, however prepare to use lots of towels (plenty for 2 provided)for the floor once someone takes a shower if you like it dry (think bathrooms in Japan). It was a great place for a weekend getaway, front desk staff were super friendly and accommodating. The night desk gentleman was stern to be quiet when we did walk in a little drunk late at night but I'm sure the other guests appreciated it haha. Would def recommend and come back when I have the chance.

This is a well placed hotel, and the staff was nice. However, the cost was really twice as high as it should have been. The rooms are quite small, not even room for a chair, and no bedside tables, plus the extra nightly $30/night parking fee is not reasonable considering the overall price of the room. It is pet friendly, which is nice, for another additional fee of $50/night.

This hotel is in an excellent location for walking to the pier and shops/restaurants within the Funkzone. The room was clean, however probably the smallest room we've ever stayed in. The staff was excellent. Overall, a bit pricey for the size of the room but you're paying for the location.

Great location, but doors are very loud when they shut. Woke up numerous times throughout the night because of noise. Talking through the walls, doors slamming, etc.

Didn’t realize there was no fridge in the room. I don’t remember the last time, I did not have a fridge in the room. My husband is insulin dependent, so this was a biggie for us. The staff was nice enough to let us use the communal refrigerator, but was uneasy leaving prescription insulin unattended.

This stay was a mini trip within a vacation from san diego by train. We were unfamiliar with the area and were on foot. The property was clean and well maintained. The lobby provided a communal kitchen and we were welcomed to use it and store perishables if needed as there weren't any fridges in the room. There was a small variety of food options available. The room was small but quaint. We didn't need much more than a bed anyway. Bed was comfortable. The bathroom was compact and very unique. What we found most intriguing was how high the ceiling was and how a second bed folded out above the main bed, likely for children. The staff was wonderful and accommodating. This hotel was ideally located between the beach and downtown shopping.

Cute hotel located in a convenient area. What was most surprising is the hotel ran out of soap. I had to take a cup of Dawn (which had been diluted) from the kitchen area to shower the next morning. I mean really. We are in Covid times and the whole hotel runs out of soap. The Lame girls at the front desk could have easily sent someone out to buy bars of soap for the guests when they realized the shipment hadn’t come in. Barely offered an apology. As if it was normal to run out of soap for the rooms. We spent too much money to stay in such a place that is ill stocked and ill run. Bring your own soap.

Room was tiny. Probably less than 10x10 feet. Bathroom was minuscule. When you sit on the toilet your feet are in the shower pan. No bedside tables, no closet, no sink counter to set anything, no information in room, certainly no coffee maker or mini fridge or safe or iron, not very functional but...it looks trendy so if that is what you want you may like it. For $460 per night I was very disappointed.

Weekend getaway to Santa Barbara

The rooms are small, but the beds were very comfortable, & the service is impeccable. There was a mixup in our reservation that booked the wrong room on a busy weekend. The hotel staff & management went above & beyond to ensure we were compensated for the changes, and that the issue that caused the mixup wouldn’t happen to any future visitors.

The location is also great, smack dab in the middle of the “funk zone,” but also a close walk to downtown.

King Size Bed in a Tiny Room

The staff were friendly and attentive. My wife and I after a day of driving were
in need of bed rest. We opened the door and looked in disbelief.
A king size bed was attached to one of the four walls of a box shaped room. There was enough space for to walk around the bed next to the window. The window shade, like the room, was one size too small. Anyone outside could see around the edges of the drooping shade. We were on the first floor adjacent to parking. The television, buried in the wall facing the bed, didn’t take up any room space. On one side of the bed was a small table top —about 4 feet long and 18” deep —attached to a pipe frame. The one chair in the room was placed under the table top.
The bath was also box shaped with a swinging door between the commode and the shower that drained into the tile floor. There was no safety grab bar in the shower area. Be sure to bring your own drinking glasses. None were provided.
If you want a sleeping pod near the Funk Zone this may work for you, but I don’t plan to return.

The front desk staff were amazing! They went above and beyond multiple times to make our stay special.
The hotel was clean and trendy. Location was perfect, within walking distance to the best spots in SB.

However, I have to be honest in that the room was not worth $450. My closet was bigger that the room we stayed in. We got a room that has access to the pool which was nice but you really only have about 1-2 feet space around the bed. The bathroom was also tiny. I don’t think I’ll be coming back since I wasn’t comfortable.

We have stayed here before and loved the stay. Upon arriving this time, there was no bike rentals, no complimentary (2) beers and waters. It was a nice inviting thing to have. Not this time... nothing. Room was on freeway side and very loud. No cold water for shower, when I called front desk he said it could be because others are taking showers too and to let the water run or try again in a little bit... What hotel doesn't have hot water heaters to cover their guest rooms. We won't be staying here ever again. They did comp the parking but still won't stay there. The man said it was new management and I was sorry to hear that because the other owners ran it very well and enjoyable. very disapointing stay.

All of the Staff were very friendly and helpful. Went out of their way to make sure we had a nice stay. I’ve stayed here before, always a great stay. Hotel is very comfortable, clean, and great atmosphere with a cool lobby, huge common kitchen with all amenities, and a fun pool. It’s the perfect type of boutique style hotel with many amenities and 24/7 service. A good fit for any stay: work, vacay, family, wine tasting, etc. It’s also in the funk zone, walk to anything you want and it’s all there. Highly recommend.

The staff here are amazing!! Jean-Luke was just incredible!! I think in normal non-covid circumstances this would be the perfect place to stay with friends as the location could not be better-close to shops, restaurants, and the Funk Zone. We loved the kitchen amenities as well! My daughter loved the bunk beds! The pool over State St. is incredible as well!! We will definitely be back!!

I love the location. In the heart of the Funk Zone, easily walkable to coffee, wine, food, and shops. Also, close to the beach and State St. I love the vibe of the hotel and the decor .. hip and modern. Also, the staff is super friendly. We checked out on Saturday 11/28 around 11 a.m and whoever was on at that time was so very nice and helpful. I wish I could remember his name!
The only complaints is that the rooms are small but not a big deal when you’re out and about all day. We had a crack in our bathroom sink and it stopped up every time we ran the water (room 110). There was also some hair in the corner of the shower. A heavier more luxurious comforter in the bed would be nice too. Also, it’s sucks to pay for parking. It should be included, especially during Covid when you’re not getting housekeeping and other perks.

The room is tiny: a queen bed with 2 feet of floor on 3 sides. There is no closet or place to hang clothes. The toilet and shower occupy the same space. And our window overlooked 101. Very loud and claustrophobic. The staff were kind and the decor is cool, but this place was disappointing. There wasn't even coffee!

This is right in the Mecca of the wineries, breweries and restaurants. A walking distance to downtown and the pier!

Loved the location and David that worked the front desk was fantastic. There was a bald gentleman working the night shift that was rude.

Weekday stay

We went on a weekday so it wasn't too busy. Nice room on the smaller side but definitely have been in smaller rooms, enough space for our luggage and to walk around a bit. Clean showers, no tub, shared kitchen was nice . Would come back here again.

Not Clean!!

The room was exceptionally dirty. The toilet was plugged when we arrived; I asked to have it fixed and they simply left a plunger outside our door. That was just the start.

I clearly missed the reviews about lack of amenities (you share a fridge with rest of hotel, no ice machine, no food at all to purchase, etc) and I am generally good about checking pictures etc. the room size was a joke, we had a good laugh when we walked in. You’re charged for parking however there is free city parking in the exact same parking lot.
The staff was not rude exactly, but they definitely weren’t friendly and welcoming.
The bathroom was literally the shower. You can’t have shower without blocking off toilet.
If all you are concerned about is location? Still don’t stay here. Check holiday inn. The price was outrageous and I felt like Ashton was going to jump out and tell us we got punked.

If you're wanting a hotel with a great location and you don't care about room size or amenities then this hotel is perfect. The rooms are small and can be a touch loud (but weren't kept awake because of it) but for the location it was a great hotel. It is walking distance to the beach, great restaurants, and downtown. We didn't need to move our car once and did everything we wanted to do.

Upon arrival I thought the hotel was very beautiful. The check-in was super easy and the staff was very friendly. I was able to check in a little earlier. The room was very cute but very small. I would suggest the single queen size bedroom for only one person because it was tiny myself and my guest. The hotel is close to the beach And close to State Street with lots of restaurants. Overall I enjoyed my stay in the room was very cute But would only recommend for one person.

Stay was good, very close to the funk zone and easy to walk around. Beautiful hotel with good view and had pool side outside our doors. Helpful and nice staff.
