The room was in good condition and clean. There were 3 main issues with the room:

1. The duvet was a very thin summer duvet even though we're in the middle of December! This made it harder to stay warm overnight

2. The AC unit was very loud (even when off) - humming continuously and making loud noises at random times, which was very annoying and hard to sleep through

3. The front door and wall were so thin you could very clearly hear all the noises through the corridor - especially as my room was right next to the doors, it was very noisy every time anyone walked through. I got woken up from this in the night and early morninh

Ideal for the railway

I stayed here as base for going to Newmarket races, easy to get to the station as its over the square and lots of shops and cafes in the station square. I had a good pizza in the hotel bar area on Friday.

Expensive for not being able to connect.

Wifi is unacceptably bad and the TV won't even load the TV guide.
The bathroom is stupid as has a step and a door which only pulls shut, so you can't close it quietly. Fine if you're on your own, not if you are sharing and its the middle of the night!!
£190 for rubbish wifi and a rock solid bed just isn't ok.

The twin beds were very narrow, and were pushed together to start with. Pushing them apart revealed a dirty floor.

For convenience to the station this cannot be beaten. Whilst out of the window you can see almost a depot of trains, you can hear nothing from the outside.

The whole place is new and well designed and the staff seemed happy and motivated. The only TINY downside was the really thin cheap toilet paper. I’m sure for a small upgrade in your cost the guest would appreciate something a little more robust!

The location is great and the staff were kind at reception and bar area. The cleaning staff needs to be taught how to clean a room. I was there for four days and when I arrived the coffee cup in my room and the spoon for tea was dirty. I turned it up and put it on the desk so that they would replace it. All they did was put it back in the original place without cleaning or replacing so the next day I put it in the bathroom same thing they just kept putting it back and it wasn’t even my dirty cup. It was from a previous guest. Plus for four days no one so much as wiped the bathroom counter down.
