Essentially, this is hotel is run on the cheap. Reception was only available between 8:00 am and (technically) 7:00 pm, but both times are apparently only suggestions. Keyless entry is fine, but we were given the wrong code for our room, so after walking back from the British Museum in the rain, we had to wait on the stairs as a new code was generated remotely over a a difficult-to-understand intercom. The room had torn and stained wallpaper, and the carpet was not clean. I was disappointed, as from the online presence, I believed that I was booking a much nicer hotel than it turned out to be.

Arrived at 11:30pm and attempted to get o to the hotel with the code sent to me. Something was wrong with the keypad a the code would not work - keypad would blink furiously for several seconds and then not work at all. Rang the doorbell and no one answered. Called the telephone number listed on the Hotels.com website for the Regency hotel repeatedly and nobody answered. After spending 20 minutes, trying to get into the front door, calling, and ringing the doorbell with no response, I had to walk to the sister hotel 10 minutes down the road so that I could speak to a live person. I showed him a video of the keypad not working and he reset the codes so that they would finally work when we walked back to the hotel. The whole ordeal took 45 minutes and I finally got into my hotel room after midnight. Since I’m checking out first thing tomorrow morning, this is particularly aggravating. Not a good first impression.

Regency House is our \"go to\" whenever in London. It's a simple hotel that has nice rooms, and a fabulous full cooked breakfast included in the price. The area is quiet and safe, and the prices are very low for London-Bloomsbury. You can walk to Covent Garden in 15 minutes, and the theatres are just a few minutes more. We have been staying here for over 20 years and have never had a complaint.The rooms are clean, though small. But we don'r come to London to stay in the room!

Perfect for our trip as everything was within a 20 min walk of this location. Euston Station/Garrick Theatre. Room and ensuite were adequate with everything we needed and all very clean. Breakfast was a bonus and very enjoyable.

The pictures do not accurately represent this hotel at all. They make it look like an acceptable place which it was not! The courtyard area is behind a locked door. There is no attendant at a desk and that room was locked. The eating area is very small and you have to either show up before 7:30 when it opens or wait in line for your breakfast. The basement room where we stayed was awful and should be discounted to half of what others are paying in building. The bed was lumpy and the room itself was cramped. We ended up leaving after the one night even though I had already paid for another night. The breakfast was fine, but the workers were not friendly. Outside our room was bags of laundry and vacuum cleaners and random shoes. It was the worst place I’ve ever stayed. I wish I could get a refund.

If you're looking for a convenient hotel, easy access, close to everything, and a free breakfast, this place is great! Yes, it was small, and yes, for me, the mattress could have been upgraded (im old, lol), but i didnt expect the Ritz or anything. This was affordable and overall very pleasant. I heard no noise at night, they had coffee and tea (and biscoff) in the room, and it suited my needs, personally. Overall, it was a great stay if you're on a budget.

The Hotel was overall very good, Cleanliness and Service was excellent, breakfast was first class, it is an older building therefore some of the decor and structure was dated, but for us it did not detract from our stay. Booking was easy and cost was reasonable.

Arrived just after 2:15 and the room was not ready. No where to wait so had to go off for coffee. Staff were very polite, nice and V hard working. Room was at the top of the building. Room was reasonable size but the bathroom very small but this is the nature of an old building conversion. Breakfast was great, good thick bacon, nice cook on the eggs. Dining room is not big, tables small and people have to wait at times. But, for the price this was very good value and well located for access to the city. We would stay again.

This hotel is about 15 minutes flat walk from The Palace Theatre, Soho. We stayed for one night after seeing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Check-in was staffed by a friendly chap, and we were able to leave our case as we arrived early but wanted to get some lunch before part 1 started at 2pm.
We had an ‘executive room’ (#7) on the lower level, which overlooked a small inner courtyard, but didn’t have direct access to the outside space. There were two single and a double bed, a small wardrobe, fridge freezer and microwave and just enough space to move around. The ensuite shower room was small but functional. The beds were fairly comfortable and the room was reasonably clean (just a few cobwebs had been missed). It was surprisingly quiet and we all slept fairly well. The room was showing it’s age.
Number 7 is next to the small breakfast room. As vegetarians, we had a reasonable selection and the food was fine. However, service was fairly chaotic. My husband received the wrong cereal, although both dairy and non-dairy milks were available, which was welcome. The main issue was that our hot dishes were brought out well before we’d finished our cereal. As the tables are very small, there was no room for anything else. My husband held my hot dish while I hurriedly ate my cereal, as the server wasn’t going to take the hot dishes back. Not a relaxed start to Sunday.

I checked out after one night due to many issues with the room. I was very disappointed to find a hair on the toilet seat and hair in the shower when I arrived. There was also a blood or feces stain on one of the towels. The toilet only occasionally flushed. The shower continuously dripped so the floor was constantly wet. There were stains on the walls by the bed and the room smelled like urine. I woke up the next morning with many bites on my body. I found a bug in the bed. Upon looking at google reviews it seems that the hotel has had an ongoing bed bug infestation. I did not feel safe staying at the hotel so I booked somewhere else. I sent messages to the property manager that were ignored so I went back to the property to speak to reception. They said the manager would get back to me. I got a message saying they didn’t find any evidence of any of the issues mentioned and wouldn’t issue a refund even though I didn’t stay at the property. Thank goodness I took pictures and videos to prove what they denied. Expedia was able to review and issue a refund. Beware of booking this property!!! I stayed somewhere else that was close in price but exponentially better. Regency house was about $100 per night and the Bedford hotel was $140. Well worth $120 to stay somewhere safe and so much better for the rest of my trip!

Very comfortable stay at Regency House.
We had a triple room for me, my son, & my daughter. The air conditioning was a plus during a hot spell. The microwave & small refrigerator were very useful to have as well. Breakfast was delicious and filling!

Room was on the smaller side, but it did have 3 distinct beds and tiny areas for 3 adults/luggage. Shower/bathroom was also very small, but excellent water pressure and temperature controls in shower and sink. A bit dated, but quiet, clean, convenient check-in/out, and a very nice staff member on-site in the morning/afternoon. No safe-deposit box nor elevator, but not a huge problem. Nice little property for the money.

We had a lovely stay here. It was really easy to check in and out, and having codes rather than a key made life very simple. Breakfast was very nice. The room was clean and comfortable and very well equipped - microwave, kettle, fridge and plates, bowls and cutlery as well as cups and glasses. The bathroom was small but the shower was very good and easy to use. Plenty of towels. There was occasionally a little noise from the street (traffic, sirens etc), but that was mostly because we had our window open. It didn't disturb us or make it difficult to sleep. There's no lift at this hotel, so that's something to be aware of if you have mobility issues. Overall we had a very nice stay.

Lovely little hotel, friendly helpful competent staff. Check-in was a breeze, we were given a door code before we arrived. Room was clean and we saw cleaners stripping beds and vacuuming so know they get changed after each stay. Tiny rooms with lots crammed in, including really useful fridge, microwave and crockery. Air conditioning was a must in the heatwave . Tiny garden outside.

I enjoyed my stay very much. It was quite a small single room but they've made very good use of the space. The a/c unit was excellent. There was a fridge and a microwave oven. Although I used the oven twice I'd have preferred to have had a safe in that space.

The afternoon prior to my stay I was called to state that the room I had booked was not available due to unforeseen circumstances but could have a room in the sister hotel (Morgan hotel)down the road which was of the same standard.
This was a very poor standard. For a room that was already paid for I was challenged that I had not paid yet in a not so friendly manner.
On eventually getting to our room it was tiny, smelled damp, had wallpaper falling off the walls, stains on the carpet and the hotel in general didn't look like it had been refurbished since the 70s.
The bed was very soft like it

The bathroom floor was really wet when we arrived and would not dry in the cold environment.
There was a lack of sound proofing here as we could clearly hear in the middle of the night what was going on in the rooms around us.
