I love the location. We like the 3rd floor ocean view room. Has a balcony with chairs to sit out on and enjoy the ocean view, we saw several whales on this trip. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. What else do you need? The breakfast is typical hotel fare but appreciate the convenience and not having to decide where to eat the meal. It is an older property in an ocean environment, got to give it some grace and just enjoy the spectacular location.

The room was comfortable, clean, nice balcony. Room could use small bedside tables besides the center one in a double queen. Amenities were good. The outdoor activities were a nice addition. We will be back with other family members. With all the outdoor amenities, bbq, fire pit, horseshoes, volleyball, pickleball plus the pool and so close to the ocean we can keep the teenagers busy.

Our room is stifling hot. They provided a fan, but we had to move furniture to get to an outlet to use the fan in order to get some kind of a draft to clear the room air. The deck was misrepresented in pictures because what we had was old and needed a new staining or painting. There was a dirty cloth hanging on the handle on the back of our bathroom door, one of the towels provided was a raggedy mess. A sign warned us to not let the steam come out of the bathroom because it would set off the smoke alarm, which would set off all the alarms in the property. The bathroom was small. There was no window and we had the loss of how to not release any steam when exiting the bathroom after our shower because the fan was inadequate We were severely disappointed, but had nowhere else to go. I would never recommend this so-called resort to anybody. I reluctantly even gave it one star only because there is no spot to put zero stars. The stairway had bird poop all over it, even in the walkway.

We slept fine. It’s just the cleaning needed more attention to detail and our screen door was broken. The other units had screen doors. Ours was just left in a pile like one of the kind with Velcro on the porch. The bikes could’ve been a little better maintained, but it was fun to ride a bike there so that was nice, but the breakfast was the best thing, that was really good. I just don’t think anybody knows how to clean anymore and there’s certainly isn’t anybody who checks up on him.

We LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! Annie is the BEST! Ask her any question and she is full of delightful answers that make your stay even more comfortable. This place is a hidden gem with great walkways through the dunes onto the beach. It is clean, quiet, and peaceful. We try to come as often as possible. If you can try to book the condos. They bring convenience in ways we had not expected. With a bedroom plus a bed by the sliding doors, two full bathrooms, and a kitchen that has everything you need to cook with. They even had board games available in the hutch beneath the tv. The view from the second and third floors are amazing. You can see and hear the ocean without any distractions. We will be coming back many times going forward!

It’s too bad cleaning rooms are such an unpopular job nowadays, I use to do it living by sea Tac as a teenager for summer work, I wonder what will happen when everyone decides they don’t want to work anymore? The room was clean enough just make sure you get a room with a screen door, ours was missing with a screen thrown on the patio. Expedia is the cheapest way to schedule. Very convenient. I like getting the bicycles the best for the paved trail. The breakfast was great though and the coffee brand was excellent. Coffee and decaf provided all day.

We had a wonderful stay at Chautauqua Resort & Conference Center! The location is hard to beat, with easy beach access and beautiful ocean views. The property was very clean and well maintained, and the complimentary breakfast was a great way to start each day.

We especially enjoyed the pool and all the outdoor amenities, including the gas fireplaces, BBQ cookout areas, and free bikes available for guests. The staff were absolutely incredible—friendly, welcoming, and always helpful throughout our stay.

As an added bonus, there's a new tiki bar right across the parking lot that's a really fun spot to relax and enjoy the beach-town atmosphere. Overall, Chautauqua offers everything you need for a comfortable and memorable getaway. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

Our room was clean and the staff were friendly. They did let us check in 4 hours early because our room was ready. That was nice! The breakfast was just ok. I would recommend an extra toaster when it is busy because people were waiting in line. Also maybe offer waffles. All in all it was a good stay!

We enjoyed our stay here as a family of 4 with 2 small kids. The beach is super close you can hear the ocean at night which is a treat. The continental breakfast was very good. It's a cute place overall! The only weird thing was we accidentally forgot our bathing suits, so I called the hotel, the lady cut me off, briefly stated they'll call if they find anything took my number and hung up, and I haven't heard a thing since. Felt like poor customer care but other than that, good place to stay for your weekend in Long Beach with the fam.

I’ve stayed here numerous times . Everyone on staff has been gracious and very friendly . This property was in shambles some years ago . It looks like new ownership has gotten it back on track . Great location , nice pool and hot tub . It’s not perfect but it’s a gem .

The resort is a mix of hotel style rooms and condos that are rented when the owners aren't using them. Our Condo was nice, a bit dated but obviously someone's personal space. The issues with the resort rested almost entirely on the amenities and staff/lack of service. Check in was ok, but everything after with staff interactions were not good. Both days at breakfast, guests were waiting in line for food, plates, pasticware etc, when you asked about anything, it was a imposition. There was definitely a lack of planning and process. The pool was filled each day with kids, there is 1 hour from 9-10 for adults. A 2 hour window from 8-10 would be nice to relax without cannonballs and loud play. The hot tub is a backyard model, half the jets do not work, controls are broken and barely seats 4. It needs help. While not the worst experience, it definitely ranked at the lower end of stays I have had. I wouldn't recommend or stay again. I would recommend the new Dark Harbour Tiki Bar, it was a unique experience.

They had fresh cookies at check in and familiarized me with all their amenities as I received my keys. The property is a little older but for a week at the beach, with ocean views and wonderful restaurant availability close by, it was a great value. Also free coffee 24/7, a heated indoor pool and hot
Tub, bicycles, grills, seating areas with gas fire pits. Overall, relaxing and very helpful staff.

We stayed for the Jeep Barricade GTD weekend and our stay at the Hotel was a pleasant one. The office staff when we checked in on Friday night was very welcoming. The front desk gentleman came up and fixed our TV (it was froze up & we wanted to unwind after our long drive). The maintenance man showed up right away when we had an issue in the room. The breakfast served was Great & kitchen staff were friendly.

Chautauqua Lodge is very clean and the staff are outstanding. The place has a few things that could be fixed but if you want perfect go somewhere else. For the money I don't think you can find a better place! They also serve a very nice full breakfast and not just toast and juice. The staff are helpful and friendly and will accommodate your request if they can. Me and my family have been coming to Chautauqua Lodge for many years and have always been happy!

While the location is ideal and close to everything. The room was quite dirty, including thick dust on the fan, tv and heater. The bathroom was in awful condition, with large patches and f missing paint and caulking. There was a warning that stated the steam from the shower would set off all alarms facility wide. There was a pool area, while great to have an indoor heated pool, had multiple areas with mold, missing caulking and most importantly, the MOST slippery floor I’ve ever experienced. Multiple fell on this floor. NONE, by running. This is very dangerous. Lastly, while there was ample parking, the layout design for the parking lot is awful at best. Overall, calling this property a “resort” is a stretch. The quality does not support the claim.

The tarp on the roof above my room was not tied down tight and slapped against the roof. The place is very old maybe built in the 50 or 60s but the room was clean. They had very few guests and I asked for an extra pillow and was told “housekeeping had none available “. You also had to run the bathroom fan and keep the door shut during and after your shower to avoid setting the fire alarm off. No housekeeping during your stay. The view was great.

My family and I love this hotel and plan to come here regularly.
The only complaint we have is about the housekeeping. Not their cleaning-that’s great-but the pushback we got when we asked for help.
The outer walkways are narrow, and it’s extremely difficult to navigate a luggage cart through if they need to pass anything. Housekeeping refused to move their cleaning cart into the room they were working on, or back toward the elevators where the walls would open up. When my friend asked for help, she was told simply that’s where they were working on, and that’s where their equipment would be.
This would’ve been irritating rather than a big issue if I weren’t disabled and unable to stand stationary without significant worsening of symptoms. My friend had to basically disassemble our luggage cart and carry it piece by piece past the housekeeping cart, trying to move fast enough to prevent me from fainting.
We’re still going to be back. We still love this hotel. But I’m not participating in getting our belongings to the car in the future.

My family stayed in one of the newly renovated condos, absolutely beautiful! The condo was updated so modern but still beachy! View was stunning, perfect sunset views from the balcony! Staff was so wonderful and accommodating, one of our cars wouldn’t start and they were accommodating when we needed to extend our stay another day. My family had such a great time, we plan on renting the condo for more family beach getaways! Thank you Chataqua staff! Breakfast was great as well, good variety of breakfast foods!

I was right by the elevator so it was pretty loud.
I didn’t like that I had to walk outside to get to the pool which the staff lets you into, the room card doesn’t give you access so you have to go to the front desk.The pool wasn’t as warm as I would have liked. Other than that it wasn’t to bad.

Fairly nice hotel, and a great location! Close to down town, but far enough to be peaceful. Easy walk to the beach, most of which is paved. The hotel itself seems a little old, but its clean and feels safe. Good breakfast with hot food. They have adult only pool time every evening. Nice outdoor area with wind screens and fire pit.
My only complaint would be the temperature of the hotub. It was only lukewarm.
We would stay there again without hesitation.

My brother and I spent a weekend here. The staff was amazing, coffee was available for me all day, the sauna was heaven, and they had a pretty good breakfast bar as well. The staff was amazing I rented a room there's a premium room but you weren't allowed to have your dog and she was able to let me have my dog no additional charges or anything she was amazing.The free breakfast in the morning starts at 6:00 amazing business and gravy omelettes sausage cereal for the kids fruit yogurt bagels cream cheese everything. The rooms were clean the staff was amazing. If you ever in Long Beach check out the Chautauqua resort it's a good place to stay nice and affordable and great staff and pool in a hot tub and free breakfast

First I would like to say we’ve stayed here many times and had a great experience on every one of those occasions, but on this trip, we stayed in a room that we’ve never stayed in before. It was terrible. The plywood sheeting under the carpet was buckled and had holes in it. The floor above our room was in the same condition and every step of the people above was a hammer fall. It was a long night. There was a mechanical room below for the elevator, it vibrated everything in our room for long periods of time, and when It finally stopped, it was only a few minutes before it started up again. Don’t stay in room 226. It’s not worth what we paid.
On a positive note, the included breakfast was great as usual, the pool was a blast and they always have clean towels.

Hot tub was nasty, very murky, but understandable. Lots of fishermen families stay here, fishing, clamming, all day, and come relax in this highly used facility. Wonderful they have a sauna, small, looks beat up, but great option. Loved that the room/unit has board games. Breakfast had good options, but so many people stay here that your are usually waiting for the attendant to restock the items. Beach access, doggie friendly unit.

Had a couple of frustrations during our stay here. We attempted to check in at 3:45 PM, but we’re told that our room would not be ready until 4:30 PM. my family and I left the property and returned at the receptionists recommended time. I waited in line at check-in as the receptionist gave the three parties ahead of me a strong warning that individuals under the age of 18 were not allowed in the hot tub at any time. She was insistent on explaining this to everyone upon check-in. My family and I decided to stay here because of their indoor pool and hot tub. I primed my two school-age children that they would not be allowed in the hot tub with mom and dad, but could enjoy the pool. We got to our room and quickly changed into our swimsuits and made our way to the pool area. Extremely disappointed that the hot tub didn’t have a hint of warmth to it. It was colder than the pool. What was more frustrating is that I mentioned this to the receptionist and she said that she just forgot to tell the guests about the nonfunctioning hot tub. Other somewhat minor annoyances included that the lamp on our nightstand had no bulb in it, and that is the only source of light in the room except for near the front door. condition of the room was OK. The Carpet was separated completely at one of the seams and there was some poor wall patching, and caulking in the bathroom. These things didn’t bother me too much as I knew this hotel was a bit dated. positives: Location, beautiful view, good breakfa

We only stayed one night, however likely would have stayed a few days! Something got messed up with our reservation and the front desk gal upgraded our two queen bed room to a condo! Kids thought that was pretty cool. The only thing I can ‘complain’ about is that our entire door handle/lock came out of the door, the screws came out. After calling front desk maintenance was there within ten minutes to fix it temporarily, which unfortunately did break again when my husband left to go to the vending machine. We didn’t call maintenance a second time, my husband made it work for the night. Cute beach themed rooms!

Overall we had a good stay. We loved the view of the Pacific Ocean from our window and balcony. The bed was comfortable.
A few glitches included the fact that our TV didn't work (or the remotes-2 of them). I tried to call the front desk but the landline phone didn't even have a dial tone. I called the hotel on my cell phone to speak with the front desk. Veronical was friendly and helpful and offered to come and see what the problem was. However, since there seemed to be a lack of staff I told her not to worry about it.
We had to be very careful using the shower because a note from the hotel said that the steam would set off the smoke alarm.
The complimentary breakfast was varied and good. However, the eggs ran out about 1/2 hour before breakfast was over and were not replenished.
The hotel and grounds have seen better days but we still enjoyed the perks like our bedroom view and proximity to the beach.

We had a wonderful stay. They are super dog friendly with plenty of dog areas as well as the paved trail behind the hotel. Great breakfast and very helpful staff. This was our second time staying here and I expect we will be back again next year!!

If you like rules , do’s and DONT’S - come here, lots and lots of rules, not allowed to left pool area with your pool towel, cannot go in pool without a staff member opens with staff tap card, $150 fine if they catch you smoking on balcony, no noise after 10pm, absolutely no under 18 in jacuzzi, even rules if you shower in your room what to do so that you don’t set off the fire alarms of the resort, wifi not even 10mb /sec very slow, breakfast ok, no waffle machine but the scones was great, drains in bathroom needs to be opened, drain forever out, hard to find food in Long Beach after 9pm , beach ok , sound of the ocean in room nice, door-lock on balcony was broken, again ! way too much don’t do this and don’t do that, it’s like they want you there BUT you will do what they say … that feeling , under their rules ! Will not visit again ,
