Room was run down no closet or hooks to hang clothes. Bathroom rusted rails and drawers broken. No light in room very dark. No hairdryer shower knobs hard to turn. Place needs major overhaul old and run down a lot of $ for that.

stayed at the Fireside Inn one night prior to hiking devil slide trail to San Jacinto. It was a 7 minute drive to the trailhead and made it super convenient instead of driving 2 1/2 hours prior to the hike! I stayed in the redwood room which was adorable. Very clean and decorated very nicely. Loved the fact that it had a little kitchenette with a stove, microwave and mini fridge! I was a little concerned with the proximity to the street but after 6 PM everything quieted down and traffic was minimal so it was a peaceful and very quiet night!
The AC worked great. My only negative comment would be to change the filter as it was very dusty. Very convenient to have a digital door code to self check in and out.
For the price, this cabin was phenomenal. The king size bed was very very comfortable and had a pullout trundle underneath.
I’d like to come back in the winter time and use the fireplace! it’s walking distance to restaurants and shops. Highly recommend staying here!

We had a wonderful stay at this very cosy cabin and truly enjoyed every moment. The location was lovely and convenient, the amenities were excellent, and everything was thoughtfully maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, making us feel very welcome and comfortable. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway!

It was just what we needed after our cabin in Idyllwild had a plumbing issue on Sunday that we couldn’t address until Monday. We made that decision late in the day and Fireside’s ABnB style self check in and clean comfortable rooms with a kitchenette allowed us to order food, relax a bit and sleep comfortably then get going the next morning to attack our cabin issue. Can’t say we’ll be back (hope not) but it’s a quiet yet close mountain spot if you want to spend time in Idyllwild.

Gorgeous little cabin style getaway spot. Easy to find, dedicated parking, easy access. Owners are very responsive over text. Super cute inside, very comfortable beds. I was worried it would be noisy since it’s right off the road but come nighttime I slept like a baby! There was a small issue with the fridge and I do think they should move the closet door into the hallway so it’s easier to get into. I also wish there was a chair outside. Overall wonderful place and I am completely in love with Idyllwild

The rooms were neat and clean. Large comfy sofa in the living room. The heater in the bedroom really kept the room warm. We were there in April and it was cool at the time. Nice big TV with Roku. The property is within easy walking distance to restaurants and shops. Great views around the property, lots of trees and the mountains, gorgeous.

Lovely, cozy, little cabin… I think the important thing to remember is that it is an old cabin…So some stuff, like the shower, could use a remodel… No complaints though, price was fair, everything works, has heating/ac, hot water, trails are about 1/2 hr walking distance, close to town center…My only suggestion would be to bring extra blankets. They also had this amazing complimentary tea which I will be buying more of. Would definitely book again.

We stayed in Fern cabin which had nice queen bed. It is self check-in with key code which is secure. The room had plenty of closet space and small desk along with dresser if needed. The kitchen is equipped with whatever you need to cook. Good size frig, stove and microwave. Keurig if you need it. It does have fireplace to use but bring wood or you can buy nearby. Heating was perfect. Nice and quiet and close to town. Our only negative was our sofa needs firmer cushion :( I say this for those of us in our 70’s who have harder time getting up when too low. We survived we just used the chairs in the room. You can street park if needed since we had truck otherwise you have your own space assigned :) Overall we would definitely stay there again :) There is not staff on premises but you can always reach them via the phone and very prompt.

We stayed at the Fireside Inn for 2 nights, and the place was rustic, cozy, and comfortable. Centrally located, in walking distance to everything. However, we stayed there during a time of heavy snowfall, and I am not complaining that we had to showel the driveway and our parking spot (that was part of the fun), but I wished there had been some wood logs provided for the fireplace. It was still a little bit of a distance to walk to the closest place for logs, and taking the car was out of the question during this heavy snow, and carrying a heavy wood bundle all the way to the property would have been quite difficult! So, with thick snowfall outside it would have been the perfect time to have a crackling fire going, but, helas, there was no wood.... Other than that the place was fine! We'll be back one day!

The property at Fireside Inn is decent but not well maintained. We first stayed there in 2021 and it seems to have gone downhill a bit. We stayed in the Ponderosa unit this time and were not fans. It’s at the front of the property so you hear all the road noise. There is no porch to sit and have coffee in the morning or just listen to the birds in this unit. The room is all wood paneling so extremely dark. The bathroom sink was leaking and got water all over the floor - we reported it upon checkout so hopefully they’ll fix that. We might stay again and pick a different unit but there are other local places to stay that have better grounds and upkeep. The biggest plus is that it’s close to town so easy walkability to everything. Nice to have a wood burning fireplace too for an evening fire. Kitchen in this unit is small but also nice to have a full mini kitchen. There are trade offs so it depends on what important to you.

As travellers from Australia unfamiliar with the town of Idyllwild or the property, we were absolutely thrilled when we drove into the property and spotted our cute Sequoia cottage. Then we walked inside and were blown away by how amazing it was inside. The whole experience from first contact prior to checking in to checking out after our stay. Beautiful town and such a cute property with Squirrels, bunny rabbits and woodpeckers around the property. Highly recommend this property. Very well equipped with a full kitchen and everything you need, while being walking distance to the town square.

Absolutely loved our 1 night stay in ‘Fern’. If you want a one bedroom room that’s really more of a private little lodge with a renovated bathroom and very cute kitchen, this is the place for you.
Private but close to town.
21st C touches like automatic check-in with code (provided via text) was great.
Room was spotless and retained charm of why one visits Idyllwild.

The room was comfortable and cozy. The only down side was whoever was next door sounded like they were verbally abusing their partner and it was extremely upsetting. They were cussing and talking very loudly even around 10pm. Other than that the place was clean and extremely close to the town center.

We knew this property was \"rustic.\" But rustic is not the same as filthy. Rat baits in utensil drawers with the utensils sticking to them! Bug trays next to the fridge full of dead bugs. Cobwebs hanging from ceiling, dust on many surfaces. The bathroom shower is so old; needs replacing. I think the fixtures were the original ones from 40+ years ago. This place has potential but needs TLC and updating. As well as a thorough cleaning.

We stayed at “the deluxe” cabin. It was amazing! So big and spacious. The kitchen had everything we needed for the food we brought with us. The heating units were easy to operate and keep us nice and toasty! We want to come back again soon 😁

The entire place is so dark. Barely any lights. They don’t leave you any firewood which I guess is fine but it’s something you should be notified about before you arrive so you can pick up firewood and matches on the way there. Not arrive- and realize that you can’t light a fire. The lighter they left to light the fire also didn’t work so after going to get firewood and coming back to light our fire we had to go back to the store to get a new lighter. No one is there to help you with anything. We called the number to ask a question and the person who answered was rude.
It’s a shame. These little bungalows could be really cute if they actually put some effort into them. I wouldn’t ever stay here again.

An amazing cabin feel stay. Personally loved the minimal contact for checking and check out. It was so easy and simple. We were able to come and go so easily. The room felt clean and cozy! Loves the restroom warmer and fireplace. Perfect for the cool winter nights. Also super close the the town just a couple minute walk. We didn’t have to drive anywhere the whole trip. I was so pleased when my guests and I arrived with the environment, staff, and cleanliness until bedtime. There were blankets for upstairs bedroom. The sofa bed downstairs where I slept only had sheets and a thin blanket!!! It was very cold 37 degrees that day. I had to use our jackets to sleep that night. I notified by text about problem and she only stated “2 blankets upstairs.”

The location is great. The bed was comfy. Everything felt clean and there were thoughtful touches like the night lite and coffee creamer. The place is quaint but dated. This was especially evident in the bathroom. Turning the water to hot made the very loud water heater in the hallway kick in. The toilet handle had to be jiggled. And everything in the bathroom needs an update. Having said all that - the price was fair. And it was clean!

This is my third visit to Fireside. My room had newer appliances, and it was well-kept and clean. They are dog-friendly and in the heart of town.
I came up for the Halloween parade, had a front-row seat, and followed the parade to the circle.
I'll return soon!

Amazing room. Quant furnishes are exceptional and from the Great Depression. Bed upstairs is really close to a balcony that is open to the downstairs. Stairs railing is loose at the bottom and an issue to go to the restroom in the middle of the night with no lights. I’m older and my wife booked this and having that bathroom so far was a concern. The bathroom mirror was set for a man who’s 6’5 and she could not use it. Otherwise great room and amenities!!

Overall this lodging was a good value for the price.
Pros:
The room was very clean upon arrival.
The area was quiet.
It had a very large comfortable bed.
Nice shower with good shower head and water pressure.
Cozy Kitchen.
The staff was friendly and accommodating.
Convenient parking (next to entrance).
Within easy walking distance to town.
Good communications with host.
Cons:
The interior was dark (even during the day). Needs better lighting.
Bed was too big for the room, limiting access to the closet and thermostat.
This cabin (Ponderosa) needed comfortable outside seating. Other cabins had nice chairs outside.
The ceiling fan did not work.

The king sized bed and pillows were comfortable, but we didn't use the stone fireplace because it wasn't cool enough yet. Check-in went smoothly because we used a code, not a key. The A/C worked well and the location was a short walk from the center of town.

There were some light bulbs missing (over the kitchenette sink, the overhead ceiling fan), so it was very dim in the room. The reading lights over the nightstand tables were too dim to read by (one was strobing). The shades on the window provided privacy but did not block the security light outside. The grapevine outdoor furniture and the place in general exhibits deferred maintenance, looking overall tired.

We really enjoyed our stay. We booked the Cedar cabin. It had two rooms / three beds, a full kitchen (no dishwasher), as well as an table for four people. Price was very competitive with the market for the night we stayed.

Me and two kids. Very comfortable. Easy walk to town. Our room had a dedicated parking spot with overflow parking on property if more than one car per room.

Definitely will visit The Fireside Inn again.

We really enjoyed our stay in”Fern”. It was a charming well appointed cabin located walking distance from town. We never used our car. There were outdoor couches under the pine trees which were very nice to hang out in.
Everything was clean and parking was assigned and right by our room. We would definitely stay there again.

We love the Fireside Inn, and stay every year when our kid goes to AstroCamp. It is the kind of place you almost don’t want to tell your friends about. Super friendly owners, very available as needed. A little routine maintenance in some of the larger cabins would not go amiss.

The best thing about the home is being able to walk to the town. And the hot tub is clean and a great addition. Kitchen is big and well stocked. The only drawback for me personally was the big bison head staring at the master bed. I couldn’t sleep in there. So I slept in one of the little rooms. Also there is no window coverings in the big room so you are definitely getting up with the sun

I’ll start off by saying that the location of this property was perfect. It was walking distance to the main town which made it very convenient. Even with that, I would not stay here again. I stayed in the Redwood cabin and it looked NOTHING like the photos. The photos online made the room look trendy, hip and upgraded. Instead, the room was dusty, outdated and some things in the room were broken and falling apart. I hope the other cabins are in better condition.
