The cottage was fully stocked, extraordinarily clean with everything needed to cook, mix, reheat, store, or just enjoy the entertainment offerings. Ice, firewood, DVD's, fire pits, lawn chairs, direct access to the beach, a calm, quiet setting across a proprietary bridge, everything you need is there, including covered parking.

Nice spot cabins were clean and cozy. Jeff the manager was really nice and friendly. bed was really comfortable. Kitchen was fairly well stocked with pots. It was great having normal TV stations so you could get around on the TV guide and the local stations for weather really easy. The clam cleaning station was nice. easy access to the beach.

Such a lovely place! The perfect spot to sneak off to and enjoy some much needed quiet. We had been before years ago and the new owners are very accommodating and have kept this special place just as cozy and charming as ever. We will be looking forward to our next visit!

We love Shakti

From the time you arrive, you feel the enchantment. Checking in was a breeze, the staff is super friendly and there are puppies that welcome you as well.
The rooms are accommodating and cozy. Everything you need, is in the room. Rooms are pet friendly and there is a large courtyard for walking. You have a trail to the beach, takes a 5-8 minute walk or you can drive a block or two and take your vehicle to the beach.
I planned this vacation for my wife, myself and our fur baby. We came with a lot of “baggage” to unload and found this is DEFINITELY the place to let go. We rested our bodies and minds and our fur baby did too. We all slept good, because the beds are comfortable and we were relaxed. If you want to go shopping, there is plenty of that, just a few miles south. The grocery store is a few blocks north. You really don’t have to leave at all if you don’t want. You can buy charcoal at the office, free lighter fluid and grills in the courtyard. Just bring everything with you.

We stayed for two nights and had a quiet relaxing enjoyable time. The only downside which nobody can control was Mother nature. It rained almost the entire time we were there so getting to the beach was kind of it wet and Soggy event. But they're quietness and coziness of our cottage/cabin was just what the doctor ordered. The owners were very friendly and took time out of their day to chat with us for a while upon arrival. Would highly recommend

Nosy complaining owner.

We checked in at 10pm after a 7.5 hour trip. Unloaded the truck to the room and talked for a while then went to bed. The next day the woman owner knocked on the door telling us we where too loud and our Neighbors who where already left complained. All of the units are separated with a carport and we could not hear our neighbors. New people move in next door and went to the fire pit and had a nice fire and as soon as they got it lit the \"Owner\" came to them and said they had to stop. Then kicked them out the next day. I feel the owner is a little power crazy. If you say there be ready to hear the owner complain. Perhaps she should own something out of the hospitality industry.

We had a wonderful time staying in this small village of cottages. Covered parking at The Cottage was nice. The beach was a short 5-10 minute walk down a beautifully maintained path. I would definitely recommend this place to others. The staff were amazing.

Lazy get away

The property is old but well maintained and clean. The bed sits a little high and is a little stiff but wasn’t uncomfortable. Our only issue was how small the bathroom is. It is just very tight in there.
Overall we would go back. And take our dog next time.

This is a fun option to the usual motel experience. The cottages are set in a quiet and beautiful grassy and treed location. The cottage itself took me back to times spent in my grandmothers cabin on a lake in Idaho.

I have nothing but praise for Shakti Cottages- for the property and the kind and attentive owners. The setting was perfect for Ocean Park and so much quieter than Illwaco or Long Beach. It reflects the artsy and cool vibe of Ocean Park. We arrived on the weekend of the Kite Festival- which we were not aware of. But the cottages are away from the crowds. The cottages are thoughtfully decorated and appointed with all you need. Hair dryers are provided upon request.

I can't say enough about the cottages they are cute, charming and clean. The location is private (and quite). It felt so wonderful to be just a minutes walk to the beach. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the hosts are friendly and accommodating. I feel the online pictures don't do it justice. I wish I could stay there for a week instead of the two nights we did. Great vacation area

Love Shakti Cove!

I love staying at Shakti Cove! The first time I stayed with my family and it was an amazing place to take the kids. Close to the beach and only a few minutes' drive from Long Beach proper.

The 2nd time I stayed was solo for a little rest and relaxation. The owners are so nice and the Bear Cabin was the perfect quiet retreat. I will definitely be staying here again in future!

Staff are nice but shady. I have a service animal (not a emotional support animal) and when presented with this information the man said they charge for anything that breaths. I am not confrontational so later that evening I emailed him the law regarding service animals (I have never had to do this before, he should have known this) and he responded that he would refund that charge. Cool. Then I was emailed after we left that I was being charged $45 for excessive cleaning fee due to dog hair on blankets and a spill on the sheets. I responded, reiterating that I cannot be charge for dog hair and that I know for a fact that the only place she laid was on a couch cover that should be washed after every tenant anyway and the floor. I know this because she is always with me and thus, always supervised. I asked them to please reduce the charge to just the sheet mess. They responded that the charge was exclusively for the bedsheet, contradicting what they claimed before. I could buy them new bedsheets of equal quality for less than that. We are in Long Beach at least once a month and always stay at the same place, but decided to venture this once. Won't make that mistake again.

pros: quiet, short walk to a good beach, kitchen and supplies, hot water, beautiful view of woods from cabin window

cons: cabin is dated and run down, integrity of staff, quilt comforter was not washed, bathroom is remarkably small and the door didn't shut.

All in all, do not recommend.

We enjoyed this peaceful, beautiful, homey and friendly place for a few days of rest and relaxation. We liked being able to cook for ourselves in the little kitchen which had everything we needed. Enjoyed the walk through the pine woods and dunes to the beach. We were looking for simplicity, peace and comfort and Shakti Cove was perfect for us.

We stayed in the Goddess Cottage. It was quite, cozy, and relaxing. The cottage was very retro, human and dog friendly, although we left our big dogs at home. The owners were very helpful, friendly, focusing on a family environment. I loved the Halloween decor!! The grounds are beautiful, and well kept up! Fire pits, area to clean shellfish, and BBQs abound. Walking distance to the beach, and a short drive to shops.
My husband and I were looking for a low key, social distancing break from our essential worker during COVID jobs. We got exactly that! No frills, just a homey, laid back, comfy time away. Thank you Shakti Cove Cottages!! ❤️

If available, this is where i plan to stay every time im in the area. The owners are very nice and personable. I instantly felt welcome and at home. The fully furnished cottages are very well kept and clean. And this place has everything you could ever ask for. It is truly a home away from home. I woke up one morning and made some biscuits and gravy, i needed a measuring cup and couldnt find one. I laughed because i thought i had found the one thing they missed, until i looked deeper in a drawer and found it staring at me. This is by far the best place ive stayed at in the area, and will recommend it to anyone traveling that way.

This wonderful cottage was exactly what we needed to get out of the city and unwind. It had a full kitchen so we could cook, it was immaculately clean and it was adorable! The owners were very kind and helpful. The walk to the ocean was about 7 minutes on a private path, and this place was skirted by a beautiful pond and creek with so many song birds! The grounds were beautiful and they had a vegetable garden and flowers everywhere. It was a beautiful little oasis in a small town. Most things besides the grocery were shut down when we were there but it didn’t matter because this place was so beautiful we spent the whole time relaxing and cooking and playing with the kids. Do yourself a favor and visit this amazing place! I will definitely be back there next year.

Perfect for a couple or family get away

I highly recommend this place for either a couple or family getaway. Husband and I found this place to spend our 25th Anniversary together. The cottages have a very cute cabin feel. Adorable retro kitchens and quaint living space. Beach is only a 5-10 minute nice walk. Not your regular hotel, more personality. And nice calm quiet enjoyable area.
