Had a wonderful stay at the Alex hotel in Dublin. The reception area has a great atmosphere with modern decor and pleasant staff who always had a smile and were very helpful if you needed anything. Breakfast was plentiful, but I do love a piece of smoked salmon and avocado so maybe next time 😎. We had an executive room on the 5th floor which was lovely and included another complimentary room on the 6th floor, that had a free mini bar, coffee machine which we made use of for a couple of pre evening drinks before heading out. The hotel is also located in a great area not far from trinity college and a 15min walk to top restaurants like the Ivy, and Ivy Asia. Lots of coffee shops and Irish pubs nearby.as well if you fancy having a stroll. Will definitely stay again at the Alex when I’m back in Dublin. Hopefully soon 👏👏🇮🇪

This was a paid extra though not free as expedia suggested but good value none the less. Stayed in Room 600 (top floor) got awoken at 5 am by the air handling unit and additional compressors. Whole room was vibrating. Said it to staff, don’t really think anyone cared. Under those circumstances room should really be used for housekeeping or hotel utilities. For €230 you would expect a night sleep.

The king room I stayed in made for a comfortable retreat. The shower was particularly enjoyable, and I appreciated the thoughtful touches like the stocked coffee, tea, coffee maker, and kettle. It was great to have my room serviced daily, keeping everything neat and tidy throughout my stay.
I also loved the convenience of the cafe right on-site. Grabbing a coffee before heading out for the day was a perfect way to start each morning. The location was good—it was an easy walk to the EPIC Museum and the Jeanie Johnston, and I found the Temple Bar area to be just a short distance away.
The nearby pubs like The Ginger Man and Kennedy's added to the experience; both are just a stone's throw away and created a wonderful atmosphere for enjoying a night out. The dinner at Tang, located next door, was absolutely fantastic.

The Alex is really a very good hotel. The service at the front desk is great, the rooms are comfortable and the hotel is in a very central location of Dublin. The only reason I have marked this hotel down is the food and beverage service. We had multiple incidents with the restaurant, and they have some policies that don't make sense (i.e. a 10 euro surcharge for room service seems excessive). Again, the front desk tried to help with the incidents, but there is definitely a disconnect there. Fortunately, Dublin is full of wonderful places to eat, so this was just a small blemish on an overall enjoyable stay.

We had a wonderful stay at The Alex Hotel. Check-in was smooth, with extremely pleasant and helpful staff who went out of their way to prepare our room early so we could check in around midday. The room itself was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. We especially loved the layout of the bathroom and shower, which was excellent. Check-out was just as easy, and again the staff were incredibly helpful, even organising a taxi for us. We will definitely be staying here again on future visits to Dublin. Highly recommended!

This is a fantastic property in an exceptionally quiet neighborhood, guaranteed to deliver a great night’s sleep. The beds and linens are top-notch, and the staff couldn’t be more helpful, especially Simon at the front desk. The breakfast buffet is excellent and well worth the cost. It’s just a 10-minute walk to Grafton Street and an easy stroll to everything in central Dublin. Definitely put this one on your short list!
