Fantastic Hotel Experience

My family and I stayed at this hotel while we were visiting a family member studying at the Uni. We were absolutely blown away by the accommodations.

The staff was helpful and friendly. Housekeeping kept the room immaculate. The breakfast is excellent.

It is right on the tram line, so we were able to travel all over Frieburg. It is right by a bakery, ice cream shop, drugstore, grocery store, an a couple of restaurants.

When we are in Freiburg again, we will definitely stay here.

We had a great stay. The property was easy to get to, checkin and out was very easy and staff were very helpful and friendly. A huge bonus was the free transport pass we received from the hotel. The S-Bahn stop is right in front of the entrance which was awesome. Shops and bakery right around the corner too.

This hotel is great for a city break, rooms very spacious and clean. Parking was not directly on the hotel site, but just over the road and pretty secure.
It’s a shame it does not have a restaurant within the hotel, it means you have to go back into Freiburg every time you want a meal, which was sometimes an effort when you’ve been out site seeing all day. The tram line is right outside the hotel which is perfect for getting straight into the city, Freiburg itself is a fabulous city. We had breakfast on the first morning, and although it was good, it was really expensive per head. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great size Family Room at Green City Hotel Vauban

We booked the family room at the Green City Hotel Vauban which was a great size and with the children’s beds in the duplex above the main room which was a great touch. The room and bathroom was very clean and beds very comfortable.
The nice touches are a tablet pad computer that connected to the WiFi is provided in the room for the guests to use. A free bottle of water and small bags of sweets for kids also made you feel welcome.
Unfortunately room has no tea/coffee making facilities, but you can buy in reception.
As this is a city centre hotel, parking is across the road in the under ground carpark at EUR5 per day.
But all guests are provided with “free” local Tram/bus pass to use during their stay. With tram stop right outside, it was very convenient to go by tram into city centre (7 stops approx 18mins).
We was very pleased with the hotel and would stay again if we were to visit.

Great place to explore Freiburg from

Staff lovely with good English. No trouble to provide travel cot in impeccable condition with sheets and blankets. Room was generous size for double with good storage and huge bathroom. Very clean and right next to tram (which you get a free pass for) that takes you straight to the old town. Breakfast simple and tasty although a tad overpriced at €12/adult. There is a bakery next door. Parking is easy once you find out where it is (across the road under the dm) and reasonably priced at €5/night. All in all a great stay at a reasonable price and would stay again but without breakfast.

Wonderful hotel in interesting area

Green City Hotel is located in Vauban, an interesting area outside of downtown Freiburg, but still convenient. There are businesses near the hotel, and the hotel will give you a free pass to local transit. A tram to downtown stops frequently right in front of the hotel and just takes 10 minutes to the center of Freiburg. The hotel itself is attractive, comfortable, and quiet. The service is friendly and efficient. Their breakfast buffet is terrific. The wi-fi was very good for everything except e-mails, which worked only inconsistently on my Apple devices. You can easily work around this with WhatsApp.

We arrived at the hotel only to find that Expedia had never sent our reservation to the hotel. With 4 somewhat tired kids, this was not an ideal situation! After calling Expedia in Canada, we finally got our room but for two nights instead of three. We were expecting to change rooms after 2 nights but an unknown customer agreed to let us stay in our room (or his room!) for the third night. That was a pleasant surprise. But overall a very good stay.

This is a relatively new hotel which is at the upper end of 3 star so great value for money. It's in the green village and in great surroundings. V. friendly reception, let us check in early, very helpful. Bathroom great design and rooms have a great pine finish bespoke feel, clean and accommodating.

Top Floor is top notch

We stayed here while checking our son into nearby student housing for a study abroad program. This was at the tail end of a two week European tour so we were already used to the small size of European hotel rooms. We found our room to be clean, the staff to be attentive and the tall ceilings of the 4th floor to be voluminous. All in all it was a good value and a comfortable room.

Also, so easy to catch the tram to the old-town and train station. There is a great supermarket and drug store just down the way.

Das Team ist extrem nett. Die Bahn hält direkt vor der Haustür und trotzdem war es sehr ruhig. Die Zimmer sind einfach aber durchdacht und das Bett war sehr bequem und alles sauber. Außerdem ein großees Plus ist, daß die Fahrkarte im Zimmerpreis mit drin ist und das umfasst ein sehr grosses Gebiet.

Superschönes Hotel mit sehr freundlichem Personal. Zimmer sind sehr sauber und schön. Die Straßenbahnhaltestelle befindet sich direkt davor. If you would like to stay in Vauban, this hotel is excellently located and well appointed. The rooms are bright, clean, and comfortable. The employees are all very friendly and accommodating.
I did miss a coffee / tea maker in the room. You can get coffee and tea at the reception downstairs (for a nominal cost) but more independence with that first or last cup of the day would have been welcome.

Belles chambres vastes et confortables. Station de tramway sur le parvis. Hélas nous avons dû écourter notre séjour car, suite à la crise sanitaire, l'hôtel n'était pas autorisé à servir le petit déjeuner et le dîner. De plus, le garage, bien que proche, n'était pas facile à atteindre. Bref bien des désagréments (exceptionnels) pour les seniors que nous sommes. Enfin, il y a un excellent restaurant à 5 minutes de marche, mais il était fermé pour le petit déjeuner.

Chambre et salle de bain spacieuses, aménagées avec des matériaux de qualité.Bonne literie. Léger bruit des tramways mais bonne isolation.
Il manque une décoration murale.
Salle de petit déjeuner très agréable.
Le tramway s’arrête au pied de l 'hôtel et on est rapidement au centre de Fribourg.
Hôtel bien situé lorsqu'on voyage en voiture.

Aufgrund coronabedingt fehlender Services kann ich leider nicht alles so gut bewerten. Zimmer und Bad waren ansprechend eingerichtet und bei Ankunft sauber, das Personal an der Rezeption sehr freundlich und die Anbindung nach Freiburg ist super. Dass es nur eine Brezel oder ein Croissant und Kaffee statt eines „richtigen“ Frühstücks gibt, und dass die Zimmer nur alle 4 Tage gereinigt werden, steht auf der Hotelwebsite, auf den Seiten des Portals, über das ich gebucht habe, habe ich diese sehr wichtigen Infos leider nicht gefunden und hätte das Hotel dann auch nicht gebucht. Dafür, dass man gerade in diesen Zeiten, in denen Hygiene so im Fokus steht, die Zimmer nicht täglich reinigt, habe ich persönlich wenig Verständnis. Da hätte ich dann auch ein Appartement buchen können. Schade, unter normalen Umständen wäre meine Bewertung sicher deutlich besser ausgefallen!

Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber. Der Schlafkomfort war sehr gut. Die WLAN-Stärke könnte etwas höher sein.
Das Frühstück war sehr gut mit reichlicher Auswahl und lies (fast) keine Wünsche offen - nur das Rührei hätte etwas wärmer sein dürfen.
Vor allem aber überzeugte das soziale und ökologische Gesamtkonzept des Hotels (Inklusion, Produkte aus der Region, Fahrkarte für den öffentlichen Nahverkehr).

Das Hotel ist war genau unser Geschmack, wir hatten die Suite und konnten daher auch noch eine grosse Dachterrasse geniessen. Sehr cooles Design und Einrichtung mit allem was man braucht. Frühstücksbuffet war auch super, grosse Auswahl und alles sehr frisch. Personal war sehr freundlich. Einziger negative Punkt, der Frühstückraum war ein bisschen zu stark gekühlt. Sehr praktisch, Parkhaus und Strassenbahn Station gleich neben dem Hotel.

Rigtig dejligt hotel med grøn profil

Vi havde en enkelt overnatning i forbindelse med en rundrejse. Hotellet var rigtig godt og personalet er meget hjælpsomt. Værelset var et familieværelse med hems, hvilket var perfekt med to teenagere. God Wi-Fi. Der er ikke aircondition, men et system med udskiftning af luft, så der var behagelig temperatur i værelset på trods af hedebølge. Man betaler turistskat i Freiburg, men får til gengæld en billet til offentlig transport, der gælder for hele opholdet (også den dag man checker ud). Sporvognen holder lige udenfor døren og i løbet af under 10 minutter er du inde i Freiburgs centrum.
Vi spiste ikke morgenmad på hotellet.
Der er parkering i en nærliggende parkeringskælder (for 5 euro), og udenfor hotellet er der en plads til at læsse bagage af og på.

Alles war tiptop, sehr sauber. Direkt vor dem Hotel hat es eine Tramlinie wo man mit dem Gratis-ÖV-Ticket direkt in die Altstadt fahren kann.

Preisleistung stimmt und das es ein gemeinnütziges Hotel ist, passte uns ebenfalls. Direkt neben dem Hotel hat es ein sehr gemütliches Café für ein schnelles Frühstück.

Hotel direct aan een tramhalte. Met de hotelkaart gratis gebruik van het openbaar vervoer => prima. Quasi geen aanbod aan avondeten (diepvriespizza,...). Garage in de buurt waar het hotel mee samenwerkt, maar niet direct aan het hotel.

Wunderbar! Sehr gerne wieder!

Wir waren zusammen mit unseren Kids (13 und 17 J.) für ein Wochenende im Green City Hotel Vauban. Und wir waren begeistert!

Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist absolut top! Die Betten waren sehr bequem und das Zimmer sauber und modern eingerichtet mit allem was man braucht. Auch das Badezimmer liess keine Wünsche offen.

Und dann erst das Frühstücksbuffet! Ein sehr grosses Angebot an verschiedensten frischen Speisen. Übersichtlich und schmackhaft angerichtet. Und keine einzige der unnötigen Einzelverpackungen (ausgenommen beim Tee, der in offenem Zustand an Geschmack verlieren würde).

Abgerundet wird das Ganze mit einem kostenlosen Ticket für den öffentlichen Verkehr nicht nur in der Stadt Freiburg sondern auch in der weiteren Umgebung (so z.B. bis zum Titisee oder nach Rust).

Wir werden sehr gerne wieder zurück kommen, wenn sich die Gelegenheit ergibt.

Sehr zu empfehlen. Mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln ist das Stadtzentrum leicht zu erreichen. Das Parkhaus befindet sich über die Straße bei DM - Markt.

Wunderbar für einen Freiburg Trip

Etwas ausserhalb der Stadt. Tram Haltestelle direkt vor der Tür - 10 Minuten Fahrzeit ins Zentrum. Parkgarage öffentlich neben dem Hotel (günstig). Alles wunderbar und wir würden wieder da übernachten.
