Nice vintage hotel in great location. Room floorplan was perfect for us with 3 adults; a door between the bedroom and sofa bed with two full bathrooms. There was a smell in the room my husband attributed to the water but I’m not sure. The smell was there the whole stay and no we didn’t mention it to the staff - windows open helped and us not there much and we didn’t want to deal with it.

Avoid staying in rooms 58 and 60 if you want to sleep. They are right next to the service door and directly above the garage.
House keeping starts at 6 AM and guests come in and out all night with cars.

This is a lovely hotel. I was travelling solo and booked a room with a queen size bed rather than a single. It was spacious amd comfortable with windows that opened as well as air con. Excellent location both for arrival at the train station as well as exploring Freiburg. And do pop up to the solar roof garden to see how the hotel really is Green.

Overall the hotel was nice, was clean, nice breakfast, parking all fine. The only issue was the space and design, the room and WC were too small, everything in the hotel was very small, park place, lift… and design was not helping either. For example big chair in the room made even less space to move.

A good choice in Freidburg

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Our room was comfortable with excellent storage - wardrobe/drawers. Dressing gowns and slippers were a nice touch. The bed was comfortable, but unfortunately the pillows were very lumpy. Most members of staff were very helpful and friendly, although a small number seemed quite grumpy and preoccupied.
Breakfast was excellent, a very choice of good quality products. A superb selection of teas and coffee were available free of charge throughout the day.
We parked our hire care at the Rotteckgarage which was a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel has an agreement that allows guests to use the car park at a subsidised rate. The maximum payable is reduced to €18 per day instead of the standard €30.
The hotel was in an excellent location, only a few minutes walk to the railway station. The town centre and network of trams was also close by.

Hotel decor modern and not always functional. Modern lighting took up bedroom useable space. Bed music - what was the point and mine didn't work anyway. The bar availability was misleading. Disappointed about opening times. Check the websites carefully!

The room was 1/4 the size what was advertised and didnt have a bathtub as advertised which was the reason i booked the room. The room was so small i couldnt even open my suitcase without putting it on my bed (which is gross). The shower was missing tiles and the shower door didnt go to the gound so it flooded the entire bathroom and room entrance. The bahtroom was so small i had to step inside then close the door and then step behind it to reach the toilet. The window looked directly into someones office and had no privacy. There were no face clothes, no usb chargers for international visitors, and no clock. The water they left in my room was covered in a thick layer of green and grey mold it was disgusting. At breakfast there were only empty tables covered in dirty dishes and no where to eat, they were also out of both sausage and bacon. The entire experience was that of a budget motel and i was not impressed.

Best Hotel in Freiburg

The best hotel we stayed at this time around. Centrally located, friendly staff, 24/7 coffee and tea in the lounge opposite the reception desk. Room darkening shade and A/C made for a great sleep with no hint of noise from the street. Will definitely stay here again if my travels bring me back to Freiburg.

The property was very nice, everything was updated and clean! The staff was very attentive to any questions or concerns. The only negatives were the 25 euro price for breakfast and the size of the rooms. The first night we were there we had a comfort plus room which was fine, we traveled a few days then came back and got a regular room. We barely had room to walk past the luggage and only one person at a time in the bathroom. Definately ask for comfort plus!

Super location

Great room, super bathroom and very eco friendly. Welcoming staff and good location for exploring Freiburg. Our dog enjoyed his walks and park is right opposite which is convenient. They have limited on site parking and you couldn’t book - we were lucky and there was space but would’ve been very annoying after a long drive. Would be good to be able to reserve.

Hotel is close to city sights and train station. However, the receptionist attitude is unfriendly and cold. The family room we stayed had issues with shower and water temperature that would suddenly get too hot then cold...awful shower experience. A hotel should offer at minimum good shower and beds...very disappointed!!

Even when we arrive very early we could not check in on time. We had to wait for the cleaning staff to finish. Air conditioning was loud ran all night and did not had the capacity to cool the room. Poor sound insulation. Can hear discussions in other rooms and plumbing waterfalls in the walls. Staff is focus on upcharging and not hospitality. Watch your wallet when staying here. Property is advertised as a “premier” property and is far from the quality of a Bestwestern Premier.

Great location: walking distance to town center, railway station and great restaurants (good for city exploring). Walking distance to funicular (if you are in good shape). Excellent breakfast, comfortable room, clean property, professional and efficient staff (also friendly, suggesting that it is genuinely a well run hotel). Trouble-free WiFi. My room was very quiet (could not hear anyone through the walls). City area is a bit congested; if you have a car, parking may be a challenge (yet surmountable with a nearby underground parking). Good quality/price ratio. I would return without second thought. My stay was 3 nights, business trip, July 2018.
