Our room was very comfortable and clean. The buffet breakfast is a great deal which I would recommend booking. The location of the hotel is great…only a few minutes walk from Finsbury Park tube station, where you can catch the Piccadilly Line to get to central London as well as to Heathrow.

We had paid a £15 upgrade to have a view of the Emirates Stadium, but although we were on the top floor, we could only see the top of the stadium from our window….not worth the upgrade.

Bindu at the reservation desk went out of her way to help me. She’s. 5 star employee They could do with fridges in the rooms. The showers could also have a safer standing area in the wet. The room was dark in a corner. Better lighter. I was not offered an upgrade.

The staff were very helpful when our electrical adapter broke down. They suggested a electronic shop nearby.

We have been at a number of Maldron hotels but this was the only one that made fluffy scrambled eggs properly for breakfast.

The room had only one chair even though we specified a room for 2 people.

My room was clean and nice but the bedsheets literally felt like cardboard (I ran my hand down the sheet too quickly and it genuinely gave me a paper cut lol). There was also no TV remote in my room, the hairdryer was broken, and the steamer didn’t work. I told the staff at checkout that there was no TV remote and their verbatim response was, “Oh.” Annoying as it’s a great price and convenient location.

Booked a ‘deluxe room’ and was given a basement room with no windows. So pretty sure I didn’t get that a paid for, either that or the standard rooms are somehow worse?!

Didn’t bother asking reception as I’d been traveling all day/overnight so couldn’t be bothered to move if that was an option.

This was out first time here, we've stayed at The Travel Lodge just up the road once before and thought we'd try The Maldron.
We checked in ourselves which was was easy enough, got the room keys for Room -003. This was in the basement, the smell down there wasn't very pleasant, smell of drains all the time. Our room was clean although very compact, also the AirCon doesn't go below 22 degrees, so it was very warm overnight.
We had a couple of drinks from the Bar, the staff were very helpful and friendly on there.
Hot Breakfast options were lukewarm, plenty of options to choose from with Cereals, and fruit.
We visit the area quite regular to see out Son, so would consider booking here again but would definitely make sure we're not in the basement! Hopefully a better experience next time!. Photo is the view from our window.

Check in went smoothly and that was a good as it got. When we arrived into our room there was a box of mouldy cheese, crackers and olives in our room. When we went out for the evening I told reception I wanted it got by the team we got back later that night. We arrived back at midnight and the mouldy food was still in our room. Managers were not at all helpful, quite the opposite. The breakfast was cold and the bathrooms in the rooms are falling apart. When I went back to collect our bags the doorman laughed at us as he saw the funny side of mouldy food be left in the room. Avoid at all cost!

Stayed here several times and always been great, first time in the basement. No natural light, lots of noise from bar upstairs. Not sure a room can be accurately referred to as deluxe if it’s underground. Would not have booked if I’d known this was a possibility, should be stipulated as a room option when booking.

Other than the awkward placement of the safe deposit box (inaccessible for a short person) the room was spacious and well laid out. Wonderfully clean during the week, but the cleanliness took a hit on the weekend, likely because of the football game on Saturday night - the hotel was packed full, and they were clearly short-handed. Our 2 bottles of drinking water and incredibly delicious cookies were not replenished as they had been the previous 3 days, and the bathroom bin remained unemptied the entire weekend. There was also a strong smell of sewer some evenings when we walked in after having been out all day. This smell dissipated after several minutes but it was not nice to come home to. The friendly woman at the desk (Noelle) did her utmost to supply what she could, stockwise, and someone was sent up the following morning to deal with the bad smell by dropping a tablet of some sort down the drain. So in the end, everything worked out, but it was still disappointing to have to deal with these issues after such a strong start.
The location of the hotel itself was unbeatable - right across the street from Finsbury Park Station, from which you could catch the Tube (Piccadilly Line) to and from Heathrow Airport (approx one hour ride) or the train to places like Cambridge - very comfortable and clean. And of course, if you were there for the football (we weren't) it appeared to be of excellent proximity to Emirates Stadium (10-15 min walk).
I would definitely stay here again.

Maldron Hotel is located close to a bus stop and to Tube where is easy for someone to travel to anywhere they want.

Staff at the hotel were very helpful and courteous and answered all questions regarding for example, close food location, Tesco. Rachel/Nawal/Davina were very helpful and courteous. They were easy going, helpful and were easy to talk and would communicate back to you with respect. Answered all questions honestly and if they had no answer, would try their best.
Rooms were good, clean and and the staff cleaned the rooms perfectly when needed.
Was surprised to find water bottles and cookies replaced when the room were cleaned.
Breakfast was also good and the staff were friendly and courteous.
Would stay with them again when I get to go for another Arsenal game as the stadium was 15 min walk.
Awesome place and worth it.

The location is ok as the access to the underground is minimal. The restaurant service staff is good, however the room wasn't as clean as expected. You can't forget to bring your slippers to walk around the room. There are musty smell in some areas, no easy for someone with respiratory allergies.

The Maldron hotel in Finsbury Park is right by the underground, making it an affordable London stay with easy access to everywhere. The staff and the food was excellent. The room was very comfortable and clean. London is busy and Finsbury Park is a more congested area so we really appreciated the tranquillity of the Maldron hotel.

My room was spotlessly clean and nicely presented.

The breakfast at a charge of £18.00 per person was a poor and miserable experience and was not a patch on this company's breakfast buffet at their sister hotel in Galway in Ireland. At 8am, the cold meat section of the breakfast buffet amounted to two slices of ham so small they would not keep a bird alive. There were also half a dozen slices of salami on an adjacent platter. The choice of breakfast cereals amounted to Cornflakes, Chocolate Rice Chrispies and two other cereals which I was unable to identify because no labels were present on the serving bowls. The fried eggs on offer at the servery were dried up- most unappetising. I have had more appetising breakfasts in a greasy spoon cafe without the hotel price tag.

I would stay here again for its cleanliness and location but would avoid the restaurant and take breakfast in one of the many eateries in the district which is what I did on the second day of my stay.

I booked, paid up front and checked in on line. On arrival I was told that there was no room of my “room type” available because “the hotel is very busy this weekend”
I pointed out that I had booked and paid so how busy they are should be irrelevant
She then told me I should have “locked the room in” but couldn’t explain what that involved over and above booking, paying and checking in on line, which I’d done
Then she asked if I booked with a third party and told me that was the problem - I should have booked directly with the hotel as using a third party booking site doesn’t guarantee the room!

She was clearly very busy making up reasons why this was a problem created by me and significantly less busy in trying to resolve the issue. She repeatedly refused to call a manager or resolve the problem and was sullen and rude

I kept asking her to check availability for other room types and she told me there was a double double available but that was an upgrade so more expensive! I explained having an extra bed that I didn’t need in a room only marginally bigger is not an upgrade for me. She finally allocated it to me but made a big issue out of not charging me extra - for effectively a more cramped room
The hotel should identify who this was on reception at 9pm on Friday 14/11/25 and invest in training. Her attitude was appalling and telling guests that booking and paying for a room via hotels.com does not secure it, is an issue for hotels.com and the hotel
