Our stay at the OYO Alumhurst Hotel was absolutely disgraceful !!! The room was constantly freezing as there was no form of heating, the walls were covered in mould which infact looked like black mould in most places and was even on the bed base and mattress too !!! And because of the damp and mould, the floating bed side table kept falling off the wall and the bed side light was broke and hanging of its wire There was a hole in the floor which was just covered over by the carpet. We couldn't watch TV as no channels worked and the \"free WiFi\" was virtually non-existant. Also... We couldn't use the shower because we were unable to manage the temperature and so was either freezing cold or scolding hot, which produced so much steam, that it set the fire alarm off !!! We also had a leak in the bathroom which was coming from where the bathroom light was situated on the ceiling and so were scared to use the light. People were constantly slamming doors and banging on other people's doors throughout the night so couldn't relax. My partner was even threatened by someone else staying there but the management (who actually witnessed it) was absolutely no help whatsoever, he was only interested in trying to get more money out of us aswel as spying on us from the cameras and video doorbell !!! We wouldn't go back there even if we were paid to because it was the worst place we've ever stayed in our entire lives !!! I wouldn't even rate it with 1 star, I'd say overall it was horrific !!!

Sheets were damp and not in a good way.

Room was full of mould and damp, couldnt close the bathroom door because the damp had warped it, shower only had hot water, drawers were broke and had coffee spilt down them. Towels and bedding there clean but there were stains on the carpet that could be cleaned and the room looked like it had never seen a cloth.

So went to check in they asked for id and took a picture of my passport on a personal phone there's nothing on the policy stating you have to provide id there's no policy about we're it it will be stored or when it will get destroyed this is a breach in the gdp now they can do anything with it when in to my room the bath room window was broken and toilet seat aswell the glass for the shower was absolutely filthy not cleaned not describe how they have made it to be if I was you checking in I would look into to see about providing your id as clearly there's no policy and doesn't state on here that u have to provide id or a £100 deposit as this is what they request from you and the id and the deposit is incase u break anything I would avoid this hotel at all cost even the WiFi cut of through the night tried contacting them to have a late check out couldn't get hold of any one then when u do and u get told you can stay free till 12pm then they come up saying u should of been out at 10am there's no communication what so ever even hotels tried ringing on a number of occasions to sort these issues out and got nothing this is poor and then refuse a refund so AVOID AT ALL COST

In line with most Blackpool budget accomodation Alumhurst no different really.... Most need seriously updated.
For £14, big tv worked with all channels, bed was comfy and huge, coffee and tea etc in room, hotel was nice & quiet, shower and toilet was clean, and check in staff member was nice.... I don't expect hilton hotel service... Most important, good night sleep, shower in morning and coffee.

Room was okay. No staff around when needed to make enquires for hairdryer that wasnt in room as advertised, Shower leaks and there wasnt any hot water. Toilet didnt flush. Tv didnt work correctly. Wouldnt stay again if i was paid to. On checkout was waiting over 2 hours for deposit. Landings smelt of cannabis so clearly drugs are being used on the premises

Upon arrival the manager made me feel very welcome and carried my suitcase up to my room.
The frontage of the property is not the best but don’t let that put you off! The bedding was clean and the bed was comfortable!
I’ve stayed here a few times now and would recommend a stay!

NOT SAFE DON'T STAY HERE!
This accommodation is full of homeless people who clearly have drug and alcohol issues. From doors slamming, screaming at each other in the middle of the night, someone been chased out of the building and pursued whilst shouting and threatening in the middle of the street. it looks like a prison with people loitering on the door steps smoking.

TERRIBLE place to stay I’d rather sleep on the streets. Staff begging for £10 parking for a day in cash and when I asked for receipt he was very nervous and it never specified on the hotel for parking charges. 💩 stains on the toilet wall. Somebody’s pubic hair on the bed, not tidy at all, Hot shower doesn’t work it’s always cold, shower can’t fit somebody in there ( I think they made it for babies). Totally this place is not worth it at all. DON’T VISIT***** cockroach looking guy would ask for scamming £10 for parking each day I’m better off sleeping on the road. Very bad hotel and service. Owner doesn’t deserve the hotel

Place is a complete dump. You walk up to a place that has the main windows covered up. When you walk in to the property there was no one there and you are greeted with bags of bed linen just lying in a hall. There was one room on the right open with a mattress and other bits just scattered around.

The place is so dirty and run down and had an awful smell to it.

I arrived just after 4pm to find my room was still being serviced by housekeeping and others also having the same problem and I had places to be.

In the end I had to leave my bag in the unserviced room and go out. However shortly after I returned to collect my bag and booked in somewhere else as I wouldn’t be comfortable here.

The person who worked there spoke very little English and couldn’t understand any requests or issues from myself or others.

The rooms look nothing like the photos.

Floor boards very creaky so it’s all I heard all night especially from room above mine. Shower didn’t work, man did come to help me but it was scalding hot and no pressure - no temperature gauge it was hot or off.
Room was plenty big enough, parking outside for £10 per night which was good. Host who let me in helpful & always around if needed.

The hotel room itself wasn’t that bad but still poor. We were welcomed with quite a rough group of people outside who then took our booking reference. Surprised they were even managers by the way they acted. The whole night all we heard was banging,screaming,arguing and people running around outside in the corridor. We felt extremely unsafe with the welcome we were given and the hotel in its self. Mugs were dirty in the hotel room, the tv was just static and it’s not a very secure hotel. I would not stay here again and I would like to help people to prevent going here too.

Worst hotel experience. Unprofessional staff, broken taps, rusty shower, and dusty drawers. Had to get cleaning items from morrisons to clean the room before I could use it. Dirty carpet with stains, broken window that does not close properly. Given one towel for 2 people when requested for one more the guy at the reception was being funny about it and ended up giving us a handtowel instead.

My stay here was eventful to say the least.

When we first arrived we were greeted by 4 or 5 people outside clearly smoking weed not that they needed to be outside because as we walked into the hotel it absolutely stunk of it.

Before we even got to the room i nearly broke my leg from almost going through the celling through the hole under the carpet which we was not warned about or a sign anywhere, and walking up the stairs it was clearly that people used drugs here as there was a empty bag on the floor.

the rooms itself well, when i sat on the bed i kid you not i sank through that massive hole in the mattress, the window didn’t shut, the desk was sticky, 2 lightbulbs was missing and the toilet barely flushed.

I rang to request a new room and in all fairness to the staff they came up to sort it within 10 minutes of me phoning and we swapped rooms. and they had free wifi

If you need or want a cheap stay and don’t mind the smell of weed (even on the bedsheets) then it will be okay, but if you don’t want that i definitely recommend going somewhere else.

We arrived at the property with suitcases to find our room was up 4 flights of stairs. The receptionist took our name and reservation number and just walked off up the stairs (didn’t indicate for us to follow) then looked back. We followed him all the way to the room and he opened a key safe next to the door and handed me a key and just said ok and walked off. There was no information given about the property which later caused quite a problem. We headed out into Blackpool which was only a couple minuite walk to central peer and enjoyed our night. On returning to the hotel the door was locked and a key pad was to be used to get in. We knocked on the door serval times as we had not been given a code for the door at any time but no one answered. There was 3 numbers on the door for checkin so we rang all 3 without an answer. About 15 minuites later one of the numbers rang us back and after taking some details was able to give us the code for the front door so we could get in. When checking out there was no information on how to do this and no one at the property to ask so we had to look around and post our key through a letterbox on the wall.

This place needs a lot of work! Smells of mould! Whole room was shocking from blood on my pillows to sweat & urine! Walls are discoloured! Toilet makes loud noises! Guests smoke weed! And worst of all fire alarm is faulty which work us all up at 6am in the morning! The owners are lovely but instead of having flashy cars you need to put money in to this hotel!

Good room but not so good check in experience

The room was fine and did the job but when we arrived to check in there was nobody present to let us in but a note to call a number to get instructions. We all had little to no signal in Blackpool so it took a few tries for the call to go through and the text they send with instructions didn’t come through for nearly an hour and we had nowhere to go with all our luggage. I think it’d be better if the instructions to check in are sent over ahead of the trip so you know what to do on arrival rather than waiting for instructions after arrival

we came to stay at this hotel yesterday for one night we arrived at the hotel and upon arrival… there was no one there so called your business where we explained that I was disabled and needed to park close we were told to go in and someone would help us I went to the door which was locked, the windows were covered up as if it was closed down a Asian gentleman then looked through a tiny part of the window and came out to us he got us to park on the street which I wasn’t happy with as it had double yellow lines we went inside, the place looked abandoned on the inside he took us up to our room which was on the 4th floor and had no lift so I had to struggle up the stairs we opened our bedroom door from a key he got out of a safety deposit box outside our room, upon entering the room, there was a strong Oder the floor was stained, you could tell it hadn’t been cleaned, staining on the bedding and the toilet smelled horrendous..
There was no light bulbs in any of the lights, the place was falling apart.. the bed had a dirty mattress also, 100% AVOID! This place

The property was conveniently close to main attractions and the sea, which was a big plus.

The place was generally clean, but after moving the beds together, we found suspicious small bags and some dirt underneath. However, the room had fresh air and the bedding was clean.

The beds were comfortable. The major downside was the noise on the stairs with people shouting and running, which kept us awake. Luckily, our child didn't wake up.

The customer service was the most shocking i have ever received. I did not believe the previous shocking reviews for this pot hole but it worse then I ever imagined. Not fit for an animal to stay. Stayed here new year and new year day with my husband and this was fine hotel, you get what you pay for, how can anyone complain is beyond me for 13 pounds each a night, you can’t camp in your own tent for that, bedding was fresh and fresh towels, basic yes but who cares for that price, staff was polite and friendly, never bother you in the slightest, we enjoyed and will go back too

Ok, so this is an interesting one, the price tells you what you are going to get, the rooms are very basic and look nothing like the photos. However if you are going for a.night want to be close to the front and are literallly only going to sleep here then it does the job perfectly . For 3 males here for a night out and football this is fine, i woukdnt recommend for families

Terrible hotel.

We arrived about 5pm on a Saturday, no one was around. There was a number on the door to call but no answer for ages - we probably waited about half hour as did other guests.

The room was ok, but dirty. Lots of Cobwebs and generally an unclean feel. There was also a strong smell of weed, presumably someone was or had been smoking in the hotel.

The walls are paper thin, was woken up multiple times through the night every time someone came in or out the hotel, shouting and banging going on too.

Worst of all though, the fire alarm sounded in the morning. We evacuated as did some of the guests. There was no one on site again, and once again no one answered the phone.

One of the guests thought she had activated it with her kettle, but I called the fire brigade to be sure.

25 minutes later someone turned up from the hotel. They got a roasting from the fireman for having no fire wardens on site.

I’m convinced had it been a real fire, someone would have died. No fire warden, no one accounting for guests or any info on how many people were in the building. Also the fire exit goes into an alleyway that was dark and rubbish everywhere.

Hotel have refused a refund, will be bringing up with the local council

The room was different to what was advertised. Bedding looked more luxurious on the hotel booking site. There was used soap left ontop of shower. Carpets on stairs need replacing. Bits of tape everywhere...where the carpet is worn. Not worth the £81 i paid without breakfast.

Arrived. Couldn’t check in straight away due to no one being there, struggled to get a hold of someone….

Went out and came back later…. Checked in found the room to be small out dated with many things damaged or broken …… bed was uncomfortable…. There was a whole in the wall from where the door had hit several times…. Toilet seat was extremely loose…… towels for the shower were basically flannels and the cupboards were falling apart

In the end we decided not to stay and left that night and travelled back home

Honestly the worst and dirtiest place I've stayed.

On entering my room I pulled back the duvet to check the sheets for cleanliness as the hotel was generally fairly dirty, dated and worn out, and was absolutely horrified to see that not only did it have no sheets and no matress protector, but the state of the mattress was disgusting as you can see in the photo. The thought of having to sleep on it even with sheets made me angry, it should have been thrown out long ago. After complaining, sheets and a protector were fitted but there were no springs in it and was like laying on a wooden board, the most uncomfortable bed i have slept on by a long way. In the morning I have a went to have a shower and there wasn't a drop of hot water, not even warm. I complained and was told that the maintenance man would look into it and sort the problem. Next day exactly the same, not a drop of hot water, complained again and was told that he had called a plumber and electrician and somebody would come to the room that afternoon. I waited, nobody came and nobody was at reception after 5pm to complain again. Still no hot water the following day, just more excuses. The state of the room in general was quite dirty with dust and cobwebs and one plug socket very loose and hanging off the wall. I would not even contemplate staying here again and left the hotel a day early as couldn't put up with another sleepless night and cold shower. The only positive i can give is that i managed to get one of the four on site parking spaces for my visit.

A perfectly pleasant stay

It was a basic, comfortable no frills stay. You get what you pay for and it only cost £15 each for me and a friend to stay the night. Dont expect the ritz and you wont be disappointed. A perfectly pleasant stay. One thing to mention, the fire alarm went off in the early hours, which gave us a bit of a fright, but ended with us laughing out loud. You have to see the funny side of things. On the plus side it made for a great story to tell the family :)

I had lowered my expectations because it was cheap and it was in Blackpool but deary me this hotel wasn't great.

Our room was a fair enough size, I've stayed in smaller. But it was quite dirty, there was a feeling that it hadn't been cleaned since the previous guests had left. We each took one look at the beds and figured we were sleeping with clothes on, one duvet had a suspicious yellow stain on it while the other had lots of 'bits' under it. The pillows weren't any better.

There was a large patch of damp above the door to the toilet while the toilet was dated but still functional. That was until you closed the door, as the toilet light didn't work. (This immediately made us believe the room hadn't been cleaned as you needed the light on to see inside the room, perhaps it's best we couldn't see the entirety of the room)

The walls and doors are very thin too, I'm quite the deep sleeper so it wouldn't normally bother me but let's just say that anyone that moved in the corridor sounded like they were right next to my bed.

There's a price point that you can't complain at but at £35 I at least wanted to be able to sleep under the covers of my bed.

The best thing I can say about this hotel is that it encouraged us to stay out later at night and get up early the next day. Purely out of not wanting to stay any longer in the room than we had to.

Very basic and not upto standard

No bath mat, no central heating (altho a plug in heater), no rubbish bin, ùncomfortable bed, the bedding made us itchy and must have been washed in harsh detergent, shower head was broken, no toilet brush.

Hotel nightmares !!

Sorry to have to write the truth ...but awful...blood stains all over the carpet, heater fell of the wall, shower dribbled out , no bin for waste, drawer came away from unit, corridor stunk all through, carpets were ripped, cups not washed still had old use in it ...windows filthy, upstairs 6.45pm sunday morning with paper thin walls , woke up by a couple...less said !! bed was ok ...but not again for me ...its true ..cheap hotel it is what it is ...but miles below average ...been warned !!

Pleasant stay

Comfortable stay for 1 night. Just what we needed. Towels, soap, shower gel and hairdryer provided. Light in bathroom did not work. Didn’t report this as we only stayed the one night. Free parking at the front of the property was a big bonus. Pleasant stay. Thank you.
