Staying here was very disappointing. While the location is convenient, there is not much positive else to say. During my stay, the restaurant and coworking space abruptly closed, with no warning, communication (besides some posted closed signs), and no accommodation from the hotel to provide alternates. I had chosen to stay here to be able to work in the coworking space and take advantage of the onsite breakfast, and had I known this would not be available I would have made other arrangements. Also, the room was freezing when I arrived, the climate control was erratic, and there was no hot water in the shower at least 2 mornings. Additionally, the fire alarm went off at midnight one night, allegedly due to a false alarm, but after evacuating the hotel, there was no apology or follow up. The staff actually blamed young travels based on their nationality for causing it with steam from the shower. For a newer hotel, the overall condition was shabby with coffee stains and hair in my room, and no housekeeping other than for an additional charge. The bed was indented and to mattress cover pulling away from the mattress, but due to the loft configuration of the bed, it was very difficult to adjust. Overall, not enough amenities to be a hotel, and not enough privacy or workspace to be an apartment.

I booked a queen room, which had a separate seating area. Although the room was on a busy main road, I really couldn’t hear any traffic. The room did get a bit stuffy as you couldn’t open a window. Aside from that all good. There is nice lounge / bar downstairs. The staff are really lovely and super efficient, I would absolutely stay here again.

The hotel’s location is good with easy access to public transport and plenty of places to eat and walk nearby. The bed was comfortable and made for a decent night’s sleep.

That’s where the positives end. The bathroom was small and badly designed. The sink was barely usable because of its placement, and the shower leaked water all over the floor. With no bath mats provided, it turned into a wet mess every time. Closet space was limited, making it hard to unpack or organize anything.

There was no daily housekeeping unless you paid £20 extra, which felt unreasonable for the room rate.

Overall, despite the convenient location and comfortable bed, the poor bathroom layout and lack of basic service make it a place I wouldn’t recommend.

Stay here was perfect for what we were needing it for. If you are planning a stay longer than a couple days, this may not be for you (very tiny space, shower, bathroom and could be lots of noise at times), but for our couple night stay it was perfect. There was bus stops right outside which made getting around very easy.

Room had a damp/sewage smell, probably due to the drainage in the bathroom. There were some stains on the sofas. The room was located on the ground floor by the main door leading to reception, which meant there were constant noise levels from guests coming and going, and the door opening and slamming, which reverberated to our room.

Generally ok. Good location, clean, room size ok. The one thing we didn’t realize was that we were getting a handicapped room. No chairs, bed access only from one side, etc. But that’s ok. The room didn’t get cleaned frequently enough - although i understand the limitations. However, trash was overflowing after say two days, not enough towels, etc. The main/only real complaint, however, was the banging noise some door was constantly making when shutting. It was directly in front of our room, and it was on the main hallway thoroughfare - so always in use . When asked about it, the head of maintenance wasn’t very forthcoming or really trying to help.

Smart entrance lobby. Rooms very poorly designed. Double bed pushed up against window, so difficult to access. Huge kitchen area could be halved. No hanging wardrobe. Large banquette seating taking up space. Bed should have been positionedwith access from both sides. Bathroom sliding door difficult to open. Ditto cupboard doors. Lumpy pillows. Bathroom cabinets in awkward positions- either head banger over was basin, or wet contents can easily slide into WC below! Take a look at Premier Inn - they have nailed it! The bed is the most important part of a hotel stay and yours seems to be an afterthought. Very disappointing

The staff at the hotel were awesome to deal with and to talk to. The two girls in the bar and the Spanish girl at the front desk were awesome. They helped out with understanding the town. The room wasn’t up to my preferences. Needs to be cleaned better. The area around had a lot of places you could get food or drink.

My stay was very comfortable. The receptionist was extremely kind and offered me the quietest room they had before I even asked. The room requires a bit of investigation to determine how to open the kitchen doors or sign in to the Wi-Fi, but once you figure that out, everything works smoothly and with a lot of style. Both elevators were out of service on my last day and a half of my stay, and I was surprised they didn't get it serviced earlier. Overall, I had a great experience, and I will come back and recommend friends.

Great location 2 mins from Dalston Kingsland station. 100m from EartH event, LOTS of food options, retro shopping, jewellrey. Fantastic bar, happy hr 5-7, friendly staff . We didnt eat there.
Rooms arent huge but everything you need, 2 x hotplates, oven, fridge, dishwasher. Tea coffee and milk, washing up liquid and teatowel provided too.
Iron and ironing board, haidryer, and safe.
The bed is very low, but comfortable, its up against the wall on one side too. The only complaint I had is the complimentary soap, shampoo etc, dispensers didnt work and thats it!

We stayed for the 50 Cent concert at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. It was easy to get in from here. Very clean with friendly staff. Very apologetic and over-compensating of a slight mishap with the breakfast bags. Really good stay overall. Would highly recommend!

The reception friendliness was hit or miss. Sometimes amazing, other times as cold as ice. First day there was a fire alarm and, rushing down with food in our mouths, the guy at the reception desk said coldly that it was a false fire alarm with no apology for the inconvenience at all. One lady at reception very confidently sent us to a bus going in the wrong direction - didn’t seem to know the area where she worked.

Staycity Dalston was formerly Locke hotels. I opted to stay here for a business stay, thinking nothing would've changed but the name. I was sadly mistaken.. the cleanliness of studios was severely lacking and they had gutted the guest amenities i.e gym/laundry room. Quality took a major dive and the whole place was unrecognisable. It is such a shame because the price doesn't match what is now on offer, they're stingy with bin bags, dishwasher tablets too etc. My main gripe is staff insisted laundry machines would be installed the week of my stay but that was an outright lie - they continued to mislead daily saying they would turn up. Very disappointing to see a good place be downgraded for profit.

We really enjoyed our stay here, we chose it because we were attending the Beyonce concert at Tottenham and the hotel was centrally located for accessing the stadium by bus or tube - everything was so easy. EJ was fantastic checking us in and took time to explain how everything worked. The apartment was spotless and the bed super comfortable. Most of all, I loved how quiet the hotel was which made for a great nights sleep. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again - the staff are so lovely and the apartments very modern and furnished to a high standard.

Booked this property well in advance in preparation for a concert. When we arrived at 3pm we were told our room was not ready and to come back in 30 mins. We did and it was still not ready so we had to rush for our event and get ready in the washroom. At around 5pm we had to leave without still being given a room. Received a phone call saying that we did not have a room and would have to be relocated to another hotel further away from the stadium. Although an uber to the new hotel was compensated for us, I still did not appreciate the disorganisation of the hotel not having adequate room for us despite reserving well in advance. I would have appreciated It was just inconvenient and tiring having to go to that hotel late at night after our event and then having to get another ride to our next location. Although the staff were helpful, this overall left us having a very stressful, long and draining experience which dampened the memories of the earlier event :/

It would have been nice to turn the temperature lower and/or have the ability to open the window, the space was very warm, which made it hard to get comfortable for sleeping.

The room on the 5th floor was clean and spacious with facilities for self-catering. (Fridge, microwave and stove top). I stayed Saturday and Sunday and was not disturbed by noise. I loved the location—close to buses, local shops and cafes. The reception staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Unfortunately, I booked this accommodation partly because of the facilities on the ground floor (cafe/bar/restaurant), which I remembered from a previous stay under different ownership. However, during my stay, this area was closed for refurbishment, and I didn't find this out until the day before my stay.

The two receptionists were lovely and very helpful Seline and Steph so check in was great. Studio room bigger than normal UK hotel rooms, complete with fridge freezer, kettle, (no coffe maker),cooker, iron & ironing board and large safe which fits large laptops! I think microwaves would be better than a full oven! All presses had no handles this should be rectified. Wifi excellent and tv channels etc. Bed comfortable but way too low and I kept stubbing my toe. Bathroom clean and big but press over sink to low and hit my head twice when brushing my teeth! A few cushions on seats would be a good addition and a smaller leg on table as impossible to fit more than two people with no leg room also due to proximity of the bed. My first time staying in a Staycity and would definitely stay again. Transport to and from hotel to airport easy, Stansted Express train then 76 bus stops right outside hotel. Shops, chemists and a market on a Fri on doorstep too. I dont use the tube but 2 stations within 5mins walk.Two lifts only one working so can take a long time to arrive, security gr8 as key card needed for everything! Stated underground restaurant but must have been refurbished as wasnt mentioned. V happy with my stay.

I appreciated that the room had a small kitchen in it as it is so expensive to eat out in London. It would have been nice to have more than two sets of things - two plates, two cups, two bowls, two forks, etc. As there were two of us, it meant either constantly hand washing or running the dishwasher as we were there for 6 days. There were only two dishwasher tabs, and no sponge for washing to dishes, no paper towels. All in all, it was still good for us to have the kitchen, but it could have been better stocked.

The room was comfortable and spacious though it lacked any real closet to hang clothes. Though the outside was noisy, inside it was nice and quiet. The selling point to me of this hotel is the customer service - amazing from check in to check out. So kind, courteous, and helpful!

The location was a bit farther out of central London than we would have liked, but that was our fault in choosing the location and nothing against the hotel. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel door, and the train station is just down the road, but it took an hour for us to get anywhere we needed to go. Next time, we will stay closer in, but that is nothing against the hotel.

The accommodation was spotless and had everything you need for a wonderful stay.

The only little thing from me, it personally i perfer a firmer bed, and the bed it the room was quite soft.

The checkin experience was good, both the guys at reception were polite and friendly.

Once walked in the room we notice a bad smell from the bathroom, which never went away. Little we kne that behind the couch the was a damp with mould. Unfortunately we found out about it way too late: on our second night I started to feel sick, last night I was not able to breath, I had short breath, palpitations, weakness, cough and chest pain. The morning after I went to the hospital to get checked and I got told that I was intoxicated by the damp and mould in the room.

In addition, one of the girl at reception had such a bad attitude! We faced not just a single episode and it wasn't only with us. We have noticed that with other guesses.

Overall we will not stay there again, unfortunately our experience wasn't good nor satisfactory.

Our room had a very kimchi something died smell that was super bad. When we talked about it with front desk, instead of switching our room, they told us they would put the air filter machine in for a couple hours. We left and came back to (for me) an even worse chemical smell. I had to play music that night and come back late, so we just dealt with it. Rest of property is great and good location

Lovely little boutique hotel. Staff were helpful and everything was clean. Couple of negative things. 1. The walls in the rooms look like they are in the middle of a renovation. Cracks and dry wall patches galore. Apparently, according to the front desk it’s Croatian Chic. But, it just looks like they were too lazy to finish or ran out of money. 2. The design of the shower stall is extremely poor with water pouring under the shower door into the rest of the bathroom.

We were very disappointed with this hotel. It’s only a few years old, however has been built very cheaply. When the above room was having a shower, it sounded like our room was flooding with the noise, the room was tiny, the shower poured water all over the floor as it wasn’t sealed or levelled properly, the bathroom lacked any storage space and was a poor use of space, there wasn’t anywhere to sit in the foyer without using the restaurant, the beds were uncomfortable and the area around wasn’t very nice.
The staff barely acknowledged you when you walked in the foyer, especially a guy at night.
Only positive was the double-glazed windows.

We had a very enjoyable six day stay at Kingsland Locke. Great service from reception staff, super helpful. Gym and laundry facilities were very handy. However the bed in the city studio was very very low. Not much room to manoeuvre when you have two very large suitcases. Not much wardrobe hanging space either. Unfortunately the rooftop bar was not open at any time when we were around and about. We enjoyed the co-working space in the ground floor. Great added bonus. Would come back again.

We loved our stay at Kingsland Locke and would definitely stay there again, or at another one of the Locke properties. The apartment was clean and comfortable - definitely compact, but it didn’t feel cramped and it was exactly what we needed. It was fitted out with everything you need if you want to cook, and the concierge was always available in case you needed something. The staff were generally all super friendly and helpful too. Kraft (the restaurant on site) was delicious as well, either for coffee and breakfast or for drinks and a meal later on. Overall, a very cool, easy-going vibe in the whole property. We didn’t get to use them, but a gym and laundry were also available on site. The area has loads of restaurants, bars, and shopping options and the hotel was about a 2-5 minute walk from two different Overground stations, so you can get everywhere easily without being in the craziness of being in more touristy areas. Loved it!

Made booking in Australian Dollars but card was charged the same numbers but in pounds sterling, this charging DOUBLE the amount quoted on Expedia. Complained about this on check in. Then, the room offered was appalling, with a tiny and uncomfortable 'double' bed squashed against a window with no bed access for the second person. Appalled at the exorbitant cost, double the booking details, and the dreadful room offered for the very high price. Next night moved to a deluxe room at a Crowne Plaza at half the cost. Not happy.

Simple, nicely designed hotel

Very friendly and helpful staff and simple, clean rooms. Considering every hotel in London was astronomically priced the week we stayed the Locke was very good value for money.
