Pros- Very clean- especially the shared bathrooms which the prospet of honestly scared me. Nice, friendly but not snooty staff. Good price on my dates as i was trying to not splurge on acccomodations on my little trip. Goold location. Right next to good bus line and Hackney Central tube access near steps away. Cons- if you need lux - this is not your vibe. Tiny (but clean) minimalst rooms with no window.Just bed with built in drawers and tiny little desk and chair.Only major downside was room was a little warm for feb in london, and temp not adjustable - they did quickly bring me a fan though. How is it in the summer one wonders? Anywho, i was just looking for a hibernation station and thie worked great for my two night stay.

I had a very basic room without a window, it was a bit noisy and I could see how it would be difficult if it was hot - but frankly for the price it was really good value and had everything I needed - my friend had a bigger room with en-suite and windows that was a bit more expensive and if I stayed again I would opt for that. The main thing was that it was safe and secure and was really well located for what I was there to do.

The staff was absolutely lovely and friendly. I didn't sleep well though. The room was way too hot and the air con was broken. I was given a fan but it made no difference then on top of that, my pillows were like slabs of concrete, im pretty sure the blood stopped circulating in my head laying on them so I had to pile up my clothes and use that instead. The room was nice, very basic however there was no tea/coffee making facilities hence free coffee or tea at reception. Yes you hear people opening and closing their doors but it's a hotel, that's inevitable. To be honest, I would stay again as it's in a good location for the Oslo which is a stones throw away and the price was good. Just next time I'll have to bring my own pillow, kettle and fan!

For the price I cannot moan at all about this hotel and in fact it is better than a lot of hotels I have stayed in. My room did not have a window but this isn't something that bothers me. I had plugs by the bed, a tv, hangers that came off the rail, toiletries and towels. Plus loads of storage including drawers under the bed. Free wifi and free coffee as well as being clean and comfy. If you're looking for a decent place to lay your head in the capital that has a no frills yet comfortable and warm vibe. this is your place.

First time staying here. It was discounted so great value for a double. The room was big, nice design and colour. Love the shelving and the plant as things like that make you feel you’re not in a hotel. It was quiet except for someone banging at 6.30am. It was clean. Bed comfy. Nice bathroom with awesome shower. The next day was fully booked so I moved on, but I recommend it. There are no coffee-making facilities in the room, but you can get that from reception. Plus the location is great. Really like the room design!

The hotel bed was very hard, the pillows were far too flat. We didn’t get very much sleep as the room faced on to the train track for Hackney Central. We could hear trains all night. Overall very disappointing.

We stayed in the studio with the kitchen on the fifth floor, and that the room was nicely appointed, clean and a great base for our stay in London.
I think new pillows are in order as I had to buy a pillow to find a better nights rest.
Also, security could be improved by having key access on each floor. The ground door was wide open, most of the time with easy access for anyone to enter.

The hotel is in a great location, close to the Tube and with restaurants and stores in 5 minutes walking distance. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They brought a hair dryer to our room and gave us free tea upon request. Although our room faced the Hackney Central station, with closed windows there was no disturbance. The only annoyance was that there was just one elevator to get in and out of the hotel. It was slow to move and shared with housekeeping attendants.

The female colleague at reception was very friendly upon check-in. The room had fully functioning Aircon. The bathroom was very clean. The shower was spacious. The main bedroom part had some dried hard chewing gum on the floor in the corner and there was hairs and things missed. The floor was a bit dirty and probably could benefit from a steam mop. There aren't enough hooks or hangers if you have more than a couple of outfits with you. The bedding and towels were nice and white, smelt fresh and clean. The black paint is starting to show signs of wear and probably need a little refresh in the room and around the hotel. Check out colleaguenwas efficient, but less friendly. Overall, I think for the price I paid it was very good value and would happily stay again if I needed to be in the area.

Pleasant surprise and value for money

I was a bit worried about staying here because of some negative reviews and that it is a 2 star hotel. It was by far the cheapest place available in the area which made me skeptical however I was pleasantly surprised.

Location was perfect, right near the overground and the main high street where there are loads of shops, bars etc. the room itself was spacious enough, tidy and reasonably clean. The staff were also super helpful, friendly and approachable.

I would definitely stay there again if I was in the area and would recommend to anyone staying in Hackney on a budget.

We found the room very hot and air-conditioning cut out but it was a hot August day, I didnt realise how loud the trains would be at night but completely understand that is reflected in the price. Comfortable and clean but noisy

Noisy. Both inside and out.
You can't do much about the roadworks outside so that was just unlucky, but if I closed the window the aircon was too noisy to sleep with. Also people were playing loud music in a room nearby.
So the choice was noisey and stuffy or noisier and fresh.

Great for an overnighter

We only needed our room from late evening, checking out next day, and it was perfect for an overnighter. Simple furnishings but comfy bed, easy check in, very clean, lovely staff. Best value if you're simply looking for somewhere to sleep locally in Hackney.

KIp is a basic hotel which would have been convenient enough if the overground had actually been working. Engineering works on the weekends annoyingly restricted transport options, and you might end up having to take a bus or rail replacement bus to and from central London.

Perfect hotel to use as a base for travel to and from central London and for us Tottenham. Basic but super clean. Beds a bit lumpy! Asked for extra pillows and not an issue. Literally a 1 minute walk from Hackney Central. Free coffee and te at reception was ok but could have been told that oat milk was an option. There is a costa underneath the hotel. Good value for what it is.

The aircon wasn’t working on a very hot day. Receptionist said this quite bluntly and didn’t offer a fan or apology. Beds are very thin, lumpy and uncomfortable. The area is quite scary at night with people asking for money.

Safety of this property really terrible. First of all reception is in upper floor. The moment we get off from Taxi, homeless person approached us.

Also same thing happened in late night. It is not safe at all. London is hot and Air Condition is not working for any rooms. Also the lights were not working at the front room. It was a disaster stay.

I stayed here for two nights, firstly, the good; it’s really clean, extremely close to public transport (just around the corner from the train station) and very close the local pubs, bars and shops.
The bad; facilities are extremely lacking, no kettle in the room, no fridge in the room, air conditioning not working despite being the hottest week of the year. The staff were not overly welcoming or helpful, given on your welcome card is a telephone number you supposedly can use to contact reception 24/7. I used this and received no response. The beds are not the comfiest, and considerably small, only one pillow provided per bed. Due to the location the area is very noisy, which of course cannot be helped but just added to an unrestful nights sleep.
Overall the hotel is okay, it’s a place to sleep but nothing more, there aren’t any key features that make this place stand out. If all you’re looking for is a space to sleep then it does the job. I don’t feel the price to stay here is worth it for the services provided.
