We had a great stay , the room was spacious and clean , staff very helpful and attentive.
Great central location in Shoreditch.
Pool was a nice to have in the morning but could do with updating. Gym was well equipped.
We got a deal on the hotel and for the money it was great.

We were told our rooms wouldn’t be ready til 6 pm regardless of the 3 pm check in .
Then after saying this is unacceptable one of our rooms was a wheelchair accessible room which wasn’t what was booked .
The breakfast was not 5 star standard … coffee was terrible and breakfast selection very limited .

Unfortunately there was a lot of room for improvement, which was disappointing as we’d booked four nights to celebrate two special birthdays just before Christmas.

We chose the hotel for the spa, but it was underwhelming. Seating around the pool was very limited and awkwardly placed so you had to move your feet to let people walk by, the loungers (if any available) showed signs of mould, and the steam room smelt musty which was very off putting. The pool itself was ok, though a sharp missing tile on the steps was concerning and the shoulder massage jet didn’t work.

The room was acceptable but tired. The shower shelf was broken so toiletries slid off when wet, the towel rail thermostat constantly clicked, and the makeup mirror was impractically low so you’d need a chair to actually use it.

Flickering bedroom lights and limited working TV channels were also frustrating. For the price, the lack of a coffee machine (only basic Nescafé sachets) felt poor value.
Housekeeping was inconsistent — milk wasn’t always replenished and on some days the bed wasn’t properly made.

We didn’t try the breakfast or bars based on our experience of the other facilities.

Overall, we would have been better off booking a Premier Inn and paying separately for a decent spa day elsewhere.

We had a lovely stay here. We arrived early and hoped to drop our bags in and then come later to check in but Jas offered us a complimentary early check in. The hotel was very clean and tidy, staff helpful and welcoming and it was so quiet! We’ve stayed in London a number of times in various locations and this was one of the largest rooms we’ve stayed in and both quiet in terms of traffic noise and generally on the hotel. This was a lovely surprise when we had visited the weekend before Xmas. The pool and spa facilities were a nice extra to have which we used. Loved that the room had a little fridge which was helpful as we much prefer to buy proper milk for tea and coffee and so this was handy. Thanks for a lovely stay, would recommend. Didn’t have time to use the bowling, cinema or bar/restaurant.

Lovely hotel, but when we arrived was told the bar area and restaurant was un available to hotel guests because of a private party (nothing was told when booking which I find wrong)

The party guests where rude, noisy and running up and down the corridor prototype much what felt like all night, I was told the next day they was evicted, that being said we had no sleep and was told we would be contacted by a manager to offer some sort apology, upgrade, free stay. Guess what? Heard nothing

Don’t upgrade - the standard I saw was MUCH nicer. The upgraded suite was not clean and overlooked a dank courtyard which meant there was no view or natural light. The room service food was terrible - just don’t bother. Very very disappointing.

Very nice hotel close to amenities and about 10 minute walk to the tube. Room was nice, decent city view; though the toilet seat was wet when we arrive… assumed it was cleaning product and wiped it off. Staff were friendly and helpful, supply an iron and ironing board on request. The bed in our room was two mattresses pushed together, which meant uncomfortable sleeping together in the middle. Otherwise, I was happy with the place. The hotel has lots of facilities available so make sure you plan in advance if you want to make use of them. The rooftop terrace was great and had some fantastic city views also.

Firstly, I would not agree this is a 'luxury 5*' hotel. The building is beautiful with lots of history but, and I can only speak for the rooms we had (505 and 117) they had no warmness or luxury feel at all. in fact, quite baren. No wall art, no home furnishings apart from the very basics. We had a third twin room room booked for our young adult kids; they were provided with a double and the manager was not happy about having to move them, in fact she was miserable. The receptionist, who was very friendly, appeared embarrassed by her behaviour. The bar staff could not speak hardly any English so that was a struggle. Air con had a mind of it's own and didn't want to stay on low or above the minimum fan which made the room extremely uncomfortable to sleep in. We wouldn't stay again.

Started off okay with announcement that we had a room upgrade, but went downhill from there.

Room was large, but had a loud audible buzzing sound, especially when in bed. We thought it might have been from the nearby club, but it never stopped. Bathroom had a TV and a bath!, but you couldn’t change the channel. Most of the main TV channels didn’t work.

Room had a kettle, but the coffee was poor. For the level that the room was pitched at, would have expected a coffee pod machine.
Free Internet was slow.

The worst bit was the breakfast, terrible for the additional £24 price , was below travelodge quality and the toaster set off the fire alarm (even though it was illegally taped up). Go round the corner to the breakfast club, might work out the same price, but you’ll come away stuffed and smiling.

Residents bar was shut in the evening for a private function on Saturday night. Won’t be going back, plenty of other decent local oltions like the art hotel round the corner.

In general the staff were not that friendly or helpful, especially in comparison to hotels of same level in same surrounding area. Hotel in great location, within walking distance to everything (train, markets, restaurants etc). I wouldn't & didn't choose to stay here on my return to Shoreditch.

Hotel was lovely and free upgrade meant room was huge. Staff were really helpful.

Location good as lots of hustle round about with places to eat and drink within easy walking distance. Spitalfields market was great!

Also only 15 mins to train to get into central London so very handy.

Cons

Spa was ok with shower out of order and no towels to hand (you have to bring your own from room). However they did get us towels when we asked.

No usb plugs - not the end of the world. And coffee etc not topped up each day.

Overall a lovely hotel in a vibrant location.

The location was perfect for us for our weekend in London, with loads of lovely restaurants and breakfast cafes nearby, and excellent transport links to central. We didn't have time to make the most of the hotel's facilities, but hope we can come back to do so in the future as the breakfast and pool/ sauna looked amazing.

Check-in was easy, but if I hadn’t mentioned that I had already paid for breakfast, they would have charged me again. In the bathroom, the shower height couldn't be adjusted because it was broken. The towel radiator didn’t work properly (it kept switching on and off). It wasn’t possible to change TV channels on the television. The tap was heavily scaled with limescale. The room hadn’t been vacuumed properly.

The bed was wide, which was great and gave us plenty of space, but it wasn’t long enough and my feet were hanging off the edge. That said, it was comfortable, and we had a pleasant stay because the room was very quiet. Overall, it was good value for money.

Many people had criticised the breakfast, but in our opinion, it was absolutely fine.

All in all, it’s a good hotel it just needs a bit more attention to cleanliness and maintenance.

Terrible Hotel!!

TERRIBLE!!!! Nothing like the pictures. Terrible check in as even though we had been told there would be a space in the parking area when we arrived to be told \"sorry no space\". Our room {which we were told was wonderful by the check in lady} overlooked the tired roof garden with no privacy curtains. Basically everyone looked in. However we were assured that the roof terrace closed at 10pm so we headed out to dinner only to return to a terrace full of people, lights off chatting and drinking for ages!!
The pool and spa area was a joke! dark and sleezy was the only way to describe it.
We travel alot for work and have never experienced such a terrible hotel.
Definitely will never return and would not recommend staying.

I was very disappointed with my stay. The hotel staff was extremely rude during checkout, which left a bad impression. Additionally, many of the amenities came at an extra cost—something that was not explained at check-in. We also had to ask twice and wait a long time for guest services to bring towels to the pool. Poor communication and lack of hospitality made this experience frustrating. Would not recommend.

We were going to an event at Shoreditch town hall which is over the road from the hotel so decided to treat ourselves as it was so convenient. The staff were lovely, nothing too much trouble for them. We had an upgrade, the room was large and the bed was a king size. The bathroom was a good size and modern. The handheld shower could do with better water pressure but not sure that was the fault of the hotel- I also felt it needed a nonslip mat in the shower. There were tea and coffee making facilities, some fruit in a bowl and cold bottled water in the fridge- as well as some milk for tea. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel.

Nice place.. breakfast was £58 for 2 people.. on top of £200 for 1 night stay.. with no parking.. lovely place- lovely staff and roof terrace. But £29 for a breakfast.. was a rip off.. and no parking disappointing. Would stay again. But would not buy breakfast at that price

This is a fine hotel, its clean and normal. However it does NOT look as fancy as the photos. I spent more money on this as I wanted a bit of luxury at the end of a few weeks trip, but what I got was not much better than the Premier inn. So so disappointed. Even though I was on the 3rd floor, the window was so high up I couldn't look out of it and it felt like a basement. Be warned!!!

The hallways are very dark
The room I was in had a small window but onto a wall which made the room extremely dark. Despite being the brightest day, the lights were badly needed.

Rooftop bar is great. Staff were attentive.

Breakfast was ok. Nothing special.

Room size was large.

If you use Apple laptop, the charger is impossible to fit into a socket. Luckily I had a travel adaptor that sufficed.

Air con was good

Lift was good.

Reception could have been a bit warmer in welcome.

Lovely hotel and great location as outside the congestion zone. The tube is just 7 mins walk away. Parking is complicated to find instead of using the post code look for St Monica”s Roman Catholic Primary School as the post code takes you to the wrong place.

Amazing stay at the courthouse hotel. Every single staff member was so polite and friendly! Vishal went out of his way to help me and my mum during our stay. The spa was lovely (although it smelt a bit damp) and it even has a bowling alley and cinema! We will definitely be returning again soon.

I never managed to get one of the managers names but he was one of the best I’ve dealt with when staying at a hotel and I stay at hotels frequently.
Me and my family arrived early and the reception took our bags and said 3pm for check in.
We then went a walk and came back to the hotel for lunch around 12pm and the gentlemen seated us in the restaurant and showed us around the hotel then went and got our key to check in early.
Throughout my stay this gentleman was friendly and willing to help us in anyway.
Absolutely outstanding service and he made our stay at this hotel.
Would highly recommend this hotel as the room, food & service was 5 star.

Wonderful hotel. Amazing staff all so so friendly. Adored everything- the room was MASSIVE the bathroom huge and the hotel itself is a spectacle! Food delicious, amazing location- the bus from right outside (the number 55 bus) goes straight to the west end!!! Loved the swimming pool- so peaceful. Sauna was immaculate and like bliss. We had massages including best massage of my life from Diana at the spa. Will use again for every trip to London from now on!

I had requested a room with a bath but none was available so they gave us an upgrade to a room with a bath. we arrive at 1.30pm, our room was not ready. I requested an ice bucket and 2 champagne glasses in the room when we returned. check in was at 3pm. we arrived back at 4.30pm. On arrival in our room 404 the TV in the living room did not work at all. the tv in the bath room was not working properly and still wasn't when we left. The light on the vanity mirror did not work at all and the technician they sent up was unable to get it working. When lifting the telephone in the bedroom (which was ringing) it did not answer! I telephoned twice from the room half an hour apart to chase the champagne glasses and ice bucket (it was my wife's birthday!) and this took 3.5 hours to arrive! The top of the table in the living are was all bubbled and very poor quality. One of the leather sofas had a tear in it - NOT 5*. The main door of the hotel does not open on its own, is heavy and there was no door man to open it when we arrived - NOT 5* service!! I had to make several telephone calls to get anything done and had to complain when checking out.

Courthouse Hotel.Shoreditch

We were on the 5th floor and room was spacious with askyline view. Beds were lovely and comfortable and room was clean. All staff were super attentive and eager to help. We weregiven a lovely tour of the hotel by Clinton (hope I got your name right) explaining the history of the building with the old cells and court rooms. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and if I need to stay in London again I will use this hotel as so close to the tube.
