I had a fantastic stay at Montcalm Royal London House and genuinely couldn’t fault a single aspect of it. From the moment I arrived, the staff were absolutely brilliant — warm, welcoming, professional, and consistently helpful throughout my stay. Every interaction felt genuine, and it really elevated the whole experience.
The facilities are excellent, particularly the pool and spa area, which were spotless, relaxing, and very well maintained. It’s such a luxury to have that level of comfort right in the heart of London. The overall atmosphere of the hotel strikes the perfect balance between stylish and comfortable.
Everything ran smoothly from check-in to check-out, and I experienced no issues whatsoever. A seamless, high-quality stay — I wouldn’t hesitate to return and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting London.

They were so lovely. It was my anniversary with my partner and they organised the room so nicely and they gave us a bottle of Prosecco and some lovely cakes. Balloons everywhere and rose petals. We honestly loved it all! Everyone was lovely and polite the room was clean. The spa was clean I would definitely come back.

We decided to still park in the NCP and take our chances on what seemed like good odds still and unfortunately our car window was smashed and we had some items (hidden) stolen.
We cannot fault the hotel for this particularly when we were warned and even the doorman took it very graciously when I informed him that he was entirely right and we should have listened! We had a bit of a laugh about it with him as there wasn't much else we could do at that point but the doorman was very empathetic still and said he would report higher.
When looking at reviews of the NCP it's clear that this is a very regular occurrence which is a real shame.

From the moment we arrived at The Montcalm Royal at Finsbury Square, the experience was exceptional. Check-in was smooth and welcoming, with our room ready on arrival and the front desk team warm and attentive. A special mention to Divine, who went above and beyond with a beautiful romantic room setup, complete with complimentary Prosecco and a stunning bed arrangement, a thoughtful touch that truly elevated our stay.
The room was immaculate and comfortable, with a wonderfully soft bed, spacious and elegant bathroom, and a large TV. My wife and I also enjoyed a 50-minute couples’ oil massage, which was deeply relaxing in their spa (YATRA).
Overall, the combination of genuine hospitality, attention to detail, and relaxing facilities made this a perfect choice for a romantic break or special occasion. We left feeling cared for and already looking forward to returning

One person I would like to thank is a member of staff called Mohammed (liked to go by Mo we got told). He helped us loads with the taxi and also was just funny and friendly! There was also a young woman on the desk who booked the taxi and a door man who helped us as well but I never got there names!
They also set up a lovely decoration for my partner in the room, with rose petals, balloons and chocolate. This was an amazing surprise for her and just made the stay even better!

This hotel honestly doesn't warrant 5 stars. Room was like a furnace air con useless no fan speed, so to reception and they said they would look into adjusting it from there system, was told I've been given an update in 10 mins via room phone that never happened. Guests running about from 2am in the corridors. 2nd nights stay music. Blaring from bars in ground floor as I was on 2nd floor it was disturbing. Bed not massively comfortable , warm room didn't help. Comfy pillows though. Last issue was the bath/shower like warm water, not hot. Very disappointing. Although staff were courteous, there was little authenticity to the the service, felt overly forced, which came across as condescending.

I had to call reception 3 times to ask for my complimentary bottle of sparkling wine, to be told only on the 3rd occasion, they did not have any sparkling wine and offered red (which i dont drink) and then eventually got a bottle of Rose which we had already waited so long for it felt embarrassing to keep asking. As though we were cheap
- No aircon in the room although reception said 'we had been given a better room' it was, from what I could see, the exact room level i booked (superior double)
- Knats everywhere in the hotel, particularly in the room where i was bitten overnight over 10 times (can provide images). Disgusting.
- Went to the spa having prebooked treatments for my partner and I. The add on treatments were not available because their website had apparrntly not been updated. The sauna was not working and the drilling and banging was taking place throughout our entire massage, right next door. The lockers in the womens changing room did not work and there was a managers meeting happening right outside the womens changing rooms (2-3pm on Friday 14th Nov)
When complaining to Adriana the manager on duty, she has offered us a 'complimentary upgrade and free breakfast' on our next stay and mentioned she is limited in what she can offer as compensation because we booked through expedia and not direct with the hotel. This was absolutely not a 5* experience and I would never want to waste more money to stay again just to get a free breakfast. Extremely insulting
- No aircon in the room although reception said 'we had been given a better room' it was, from what I could see, the exact room level i booked (superior double)
- Knats everywhere in the hotel, particularly in the room where i was bitten overnight over 10 times (can provide images). Disgusting.

I traveled for business and my flight had me in early Sunday morning. With ease, they allowed early check in and the junior suite was perfect to accommodate a week-long stay for one. The restaurants were all nice but sometimes hard to access as they are popular after work drink spots. There wasn't room service, which was fine with me but one night the restaurants were too crowded so I made due with crisps from the mini bar! Overall....clean room, friendly staff, convenient location for work, great drinks and restaurants ambiance.

The room was clean and the view was great. Some of the staff were brilliant (thanks, Jolo Antonio!) and others seemed very inexperienced. I was very frustrated that the sauna was broken and unusable, and this wasn’t mentioned anywhere in advance — I literally came to use the sauna and spa, so I would’ve come another time. Given the star rating of the hotel it was also a shame that the spa facilities weren’t better managed in terms of numbers (they were so full and noisy, with occasional shrieking and yelling, which was a shame; it would’ve helped to request that guests were quiet in the spa area). It was very disappointing that I asked several people for decaf coffee but no one could procure any during my stay. Overall, a really disappointing experience given the hotel’s star rating.

My jewellery got stolen at the hotel by someone that had entered the room and had been through all of our belongings and the hotel says that no one entered when someone full well did because the cleaner has been in as the bed was made and they was a laundry bag which wasn’t there before I am not happy at all and won’t be staying at any Montcalm hotels ever again you do not go and stay in any hotel and expect anybody to go through your belongings it isn’t on nor professional nor fair

Lovely 1 Night stay for my sisters 18th Birthday
I stayed 1 night at the hotel with my sister to celebrate her 18th birthday. Staff were very friendly and even left some balloons and a small cake and birthday card in the room for my sister which was a lovely surprise for her. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Me and my sister enjoyed the roof terrace where we ordered some food and had some drinks. They were also playing good music up on the terrace, my sister was really enjoying the experience. The only thing was the spa was so crowded, it was a weekend, we probably should have stayed for 2 nights so that we could access the spa at another time or stay during the week. The breakfast was lovely in the morning and we would love to stay again at this hotel.
