Tatty, tired, heating on full all night with no way to turn it off and balcony door wouldn’t open so I had zero fresh air. TV signal was poor and kept switching off. I checked in on the later side and left early so there was no one on reception to report this too. Also woke up with a few bites on my shoulder which is concerning.

Conveniently located close to Liverpool St station. I didn’t find it noisy at all, shower was decent, but wouldn’t stay here again.

Disappointed with the description

Paid extra to stay in suite with balcony but views were of the building next to it . Door didn’t lock properly which had been mentioned on previous post . Few lights out and floorboards were really creaky would not have wanted to be in apartment beneath !!!

Close to Liverpool St Station and reasonable price, but a tired room in a tired property on top of shops/bars so noise was an issue. The aircon wasn't working so windows were open - meaning a wake up call at 5.30am from the binmen outside. Bedside lights and hairdryer didn't work.
You get what you pay for I guess......

Nice but noisy

My only issue with the place was the noise from other rooms, so much that it was even making the bed wobble with noise vibrations. The only way you're going to get any sleep is with a good set of sleep ear plugs. Especially as the dustbin lorry arrives at 04:30 to collect the pub opposite's empty bottles.

Only this correct in the advertisement of this property is the location. I have never ever had to leave a property mid stay (I travel every week across the UK for work). I was so uncomfortable at this property for so many reasons I couldn't bear it and left after 2 miserable night

Shoddy from floor to ceiling...tatty everywhere, everything needs to be replaced.
Poor facilities that aren't up to a 4 class standard
Noisy, cistern on toilet knackered.
No hot running water in kitchen
No water provided and tap ran tepid
Disgusting old sponge that many many other guests had previously used
Only 1 pan provided, no utensils provided
Floorboors so incredibly noisy
Toiletries not as described
Whole place needs to be stripped out and started again

Staff were friendly and helped me with my case

However after night 2 with no sleep due to cistern, I checked out. I raised a refund request for the 2 remaining nights with hotels.com and the manger is refusing to refund anything. they say I should have raised these issues with them....my leaky cistern at 1am?? No staff on site between 11am and 9am. And they weren't going to completely refund what they described as their best flat in a day. I travel solo for business, I need to feel safe and with basic comforts ...I wish I'd booked a Travelodge

I wish I'd read some of the other reviews and saved myself the misery and cost. Hopefully I can save someone else having the same issue.

The property had everything I needed in the room (Iron, fridge, comfy bed and easy walk to Liverpool Street station). The \"rain shower\" was too big for the small bathroom, but my stay was fine.

The shower completely stopped working at around 7:50am yesterday!
Front door and balcony door both couldn’t latch fully. Toilet flush didn’t work well too.

Convenient location but needs refurbishment.

Room was small but ok as I only needed somewhere to sleep. Very convenient location just around the corner from the office. Reason I gave a low rating was because there was mould in the shower, the toilet didn’t flush properly and it was so noisy when people above walked it woke me up.

The rooftop deck was so worth it! The doorway out to the deck is the only way to get fresh air into the top floor which seemed odd - the room fan was great for air movement, especially for sleeping. Their bag storage was extremely helpful! There were some aesthetic repairs that could be made and the deadbolt wouldn’t engage - I just used the chairs to block the door swing. Very close to Liverpool which made getting anywhere super easy. Desk staff were very kind and helpful!

Lovely appartment in a fab area, very clean, comfortable and well equipped. No robes as advertised and couldnt use kettle as blew all electrics when turned on. Very helpful friendly staff

Poor flow of water from sink tap and shower. The controls for temperature on the shower went from stone cold to scorching hot. Tiny rooms, of which your have balcony but it’s not really a balcony.

Rooms are really small and The bathroom is not bigger than A box.
Everything in this hotel is no more than essential.even though the position is quite practical very close to the Paddington station and the staff is kind and helpful, prices are quite high even for the London average.

I was disappointed when I arrived as the property on Expedia was described as “a suite” and had “a separate bedroom”. It was in fact just a very small room and bathroom.
The room was also incredibly hot with no temperature controls and no opening windows.

My first and last visit.

Our room was not a 4 star grade at all. It was tiny, and certainly not an apartment! There was no way that my wife and I could walk past each other. The double bed was tight against the wall on two sides. So, my wife would have to clamber over me to get out of bed! There were no bed side or head over lights. To turn the main light out, I had to go to the entrance door! There was one very small shelf for our use. (Approximately 60cm x 10 cm). The only other shelf was for the kettle etc. The walls separating our room from the next door was so thin we could hear clearly when the toilet was being used. Which included the flushing!!! Actually, we could hear much of what was happening next door! Our floor was wooden panelling, and looked unfinished. The room above must have the same; causing us to hear loud footsteps. The TV signal was bad, so that meant we lost the signal regularly. To add to that, all the controls were in Spanish, but the staff did resolve that. We had to turn off the fridge at night because of the gurgling, wooshing and clicking. The ceiling was stained, but I’m not sure what caused that. The balcony was absolutely tiny!
That staff were very friendly and helpful. That said, when I complained about the room to a receptionist, he apologised, and assured me that he would discuss the problems. However, nothing happened!!
Would I use the place again? Not a chance.

a rainy weekend

Had water dripping from bedroom ceiling light fitting all night. Slipped in puddle in night when got up for bathroom. Scared to turn any electrics on. Water in cistern running all night/trouble flushing toilet. Late arrival of caretaker Saturday morning to report this these findings. Had to change our plans because of this and wait for different room to be cleaned which was smaller than one I booked. Nice rooms though and very helpful staff.

Fantastic location right across the road from LIVERPOOL Street station. Perfect for early morning trains! Loads to eat, see and do nearby. Lovely guy on the phone and at check-in, super helpful and polite. Room small but fine for a one night stay. Pillows need replacing - seriously lumpy and uncomfortable. Great stay overall.

Good location, everything else wasnt that great

Check in process was fine. Instructions to collect keys were clear. I actually never saw a member of staff. The photographer did a great job making the space look larger and nicer than it actually is. London is a big city and space is a premium but the pictures treat the location a bit too well. Overall though, my biggest complaint was the noise from the neighbours. The walls are so thing that even though I put noise cancelling headphones on I could still hear far too much. The end result was a really bad nights sleep. Have a look at the picture to see the state of the headboard of the bed which actually made me laugh. The location is great if you need easy access to Liverpool St though.

Extremely disappointing. I have stayed here previously and a returning customer. On arrival (7pm) the room was cold, bed sheets damp. I was told the main supply to the heating had been cut and would not be working for the duration of my stay (2 night stay booked). I was shown a small electric heater (the room was not pre heated). I asked for a refund as I could not stay in that condition, it was due to be freezing the following morning and the air was damp. I was offered another room on a lower floor? Not sure why as this had no heating and exactly the same issues applied. I was not told in advance on arrival so ai sought alternative accommodation, not great when travelling alone at short notice. Both Hotels.com and Rez will not offer a refund. They both believe this is an acceptable service and the offer of a small electric heater is perfcetly within their rights. I will not use Hotels.com or this hotel again as I don't feel l was treated fairly. Be careful.

Good apartment in great location. Make sure you have received an email with the key code before you arrive and a number to call if you have problems. The reception closes at 6.30pm. I arrived afterwards and had been given the wrong key code number. I managed to get in contact with someone who was very helpful and met at the apartment to retrieve the code.

We booked last minute and the location of these apartments was great! Right by Liverpool Street station. We only stayed one night but there was enough room for two of us and we would definitely stay again. Good value for money and the reception staff were really friendly and helpful.

Ok for a bed for the night

I travel quite a lot and if you are like me you are working office and home. Unfortunately there was no secure internet on the premises so this really disqualifies choosing this hotel in the future.

As for the hotel it's ok but in order to \"lock\" the front door at night you need to lift the door so the lock closes. The refrigerator made a really annoying humming that I had to turn it off.

The hot water takes about 10 mins to reach the room (literally). In the morning you better maek sure your first in as once everyone uses the hot water you're bathin in luke warm water..

Just an overnight stop in London, but this was perfect. Plenty of space, fantastic location and really helpful service. My room was exceptionally warm even with the heating turned down and the window open, but this was not a big issue compared to all the plus parts!! Also it surprised me how quiet it is in this part of London after midnight.........

A good try to make it seem good quality but let down by entrance and fixtures and fittings from the cheaper end of the market. TV remote did not work properly and heating/aircon kept reverting to max so had to be turned off. Bed comforable and bathroom facilities quite adequate.

Choose the room wisely!

I stayed in the Jacobson room and although it is well furnished, it is small. Anyone over 6' will struggle. I checked the website and their two standard doubles that are available through Hotels.com are 12 and 14sq m; I had the smaller one. But nevertheless nicely equipped and furnished rooms, convenient location and pretty smart overall. I would go again but would opt for the 20sq m room option which they call 'Deluxe Studios' as this would be less cramped.

Good night sleep

Good price for a very central location next to Spittalfield market. The room was fairly small, but it was very clean and quiet (we were in the Jacobson room). There were facilities for making tea and coffee and a fridge. The lady on reception informed us that they had just bought new mattresses and we were the first to use it- the mattress was firm but not too hard and we had a good night sleep.

Noisy. Couldn't sleep due to people in bars outside of hotel. No elevator! Tough climbing flights with luggage. Difficult to find hotel when we arrived.

Super location amongst pub, restaurants, and the Sunday street market outside the front door. (Remember to close your windows on Saturday night....) Liverpool Street station is about 200 yards from the door. No hills or steps in between.

The mattress on the bed was past it's best days an uncomfortable sleep.
The air con control was outside room in corridor so not easy to access.

good bedroom but very noisy

The bedroom itself was good, modern and clean. However I had a terrible night for the following reasons: you can hear every single step of people in the above apartment with horrible squeaking noises but most importantly the flat is just opposite 2 pubs with people shouting at night.
Although the place sounds and looks good, I wouldn't come back.

Short romantic stay we had the suede suite. Room was amazing, comfortable king ved with a nice lounge area and kitchenette and right across from Liverpool Street station, down the road from shoreditch and dalston very good location. Would stay again.

Great location but too many problems with the room

Half the bed sloped so you'd basically roll out of the bed. The sofa bed totally sucked. Right in the middle was a huge dip. When we checked in, the AC was broken and it took a couple of days to fix. There are 2 pubs right outside. We had to sleep with the windows open because of no AC. Just imagine loud drunks until the wee hours of the morning. The third night we figured out the AC was on some program that shut the air off and made the room uncomfortably warm. At least we got the air to work. The location was great, right next to the underground station. That was the best part about the place. Couldn't figure out the stove, but the microwave/convection oven was great.

great apt'hotel but noise

everything about this apartment hotel was great but the building is very old and noisy, that is the only reason i would not recommend the hotel. If you take the top floor or you dont mind the noises than this hotel is a great choice in affordable price.
pros:
I took the small room which is good for 1 person but they have different sizes which appropriate for a couple or a family.
It is clean, modern design, air condition, fridge!,balcony!, reception are so nice and helpful.
I liked the neighborhood and it is just by liverpool station.
cons:
has no elevator but they will carry the bags for you.
reception closes after 10pm but i never needed it pass that time anyway.
the major flaw in the hotel is that the building walls are so thin that you can hear everything that is happening above you. i could not sleep the 3 nights because i could hear the guests from the rooms upstairs walking on the floor, flushing the toilet, taking a shower, closing the doors. the steps from upstairs are so noisy it sounds like an elephant is walking on top of you.
try getting the 4th floor which has no rooms on top.

Can't understand why some other reviews were good as I found myself in a very small bedroom. Wifi was lousy as I could not even pull emails without it falling over and the bathroom was very small. Had to sit on the toilet to reach the mirror for shaving and there was no light over the mirror either. No air conditioning in the room. Overall a poor experience but on the upside good location near Liverpool St station
