Beautiful gardens and secluded from street noise and traffic, nice pool, great personalized service at any hour of day or night. Great location close enough to walk to Pub street but also some great cheaper nearby restaurants. Room and especially bathroom was clean but a little worn and in need of a makeover. Still a very nice place to stay and would definitely recommend.

Lovely stay here with our family of 4. The staff was attentive and helped arrange a tuk tuk driver for our trips out to the temples. The pool was a welcome relief from the heat of the day. I would stay here again and highly recommend this hotel. Easy walk to the action around pub street.

I stayed here for my second week in Siem Reap after staying a resort close by.
The grounds are amazing for a small hotel. There a small pool area set up as a watering hole for deer. Many of the trees are named and the two gardeners do a great job keeping it in shape.
I had soup as a breakfast option everyday with a fruit plate and passion juice. Good coffee and better iced coffee for later in the day.
My favorite Cambodian dish was fish amok and morning glory. Their cheeseburgers were also tasty.
Several interesting restaurants in the area and a French bakery.
Best part of the room was the patio outside, what a great recliner to relax in.
Do catch the cultural show at the Angkor Resort. It can be booked from Sonalong.
Pool is a decent size and quiet during day.

A little slice of heaven. Tucked away and still close to town. Lovely pool and very helpful staff. Organised a tuk tuk for the day to see Angkor wat. A very relaxing stay. Highly recommend.

Such a lovely place! From the hospitality of Mr. Ha, and the impeccable service of Soon. A perfect location, nice walk to Pub Street, or a short tuk-tuk ride, Sonalong is a hidden tropical oasis with pool. Good breakfast cooked to order. We have already recommended to other travelers we have met!

Amazing hotel!
This is an amazing hotel. The location is great. Although that doesn't matter much because no matter where you go in or out of town there is always a tuk tuk (taxi) to take you. The hotel grounds were beautiful. The resort was clean and inviting. The rooms are large. The beds are pretty firm, but were not uncomfortable. The hotels.com listing stated that bottles of water and breakfast was included, but this was not the case. Breakfast was anywhere from$3-7 dollars, and was worth every penny! The breakfast is so amazing that I did not mind paying. The room refrigerator was stalked with a local beer, coca cola, and liter bottles of water. One liter of water was $1. Six beers or six sodas were one dollar. They will even do your laundry if you leave your dirty clothes in the hamper. It is based on weight but costs roughly $1 per load. They wash and iron your clothes the same day. By dinner just pick your clothes up at the front desk. The rooms are large. The bathrooms are dark, so ladies bring a mirror to do your makeup in the room where it is bright. The best part of this hotel is the staff. Everyone is so friendly and remembers your name. They speak to you every time they see you. They love to get to know you. The bartender makes all the drinkd fresh. They slice all the fruit in front of you for the cocktails. This is an amazing hotel. You will not be disappointed!

A jungle oasis a walk away from downtown
My husband and I spent three nights at Sonalong Boutique Village & Resort while on our honeymoon. The staff was fantastic, start to finish, and helped us plan and get set up for two days touring the temples. The grounds were meticulously maintained. We spent every afternoon at the pool which was a nice break after being in the heat all day. Breakfast was complementary and the coffee was outstanding! The room was comfortable and stocked with $1 USD beers which we enjoyed several of while relaxing in the lounge chairs on our private porch. It was so nice to be able to be close enough to walk into town but to also be a little removed from the hustle and bustle as well. I can't say enough about our experience here, it was truly magical!

Staff was simply helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to make a stay one to remember. The place itself was more than adequate. It is located in a quiet neighborhood. Could walk to Pub Street, but the weather will get you.

A great place to stay
Chose Sonalong following excellent reviews on Tripadvisor and were very pleased we did so. The free-standing villas (one up, one down) were most comfortable and the huge verandas a bonus, although we didn't have much time to sit there. Although initially upset on checking-in because the room we were given wasn't what had been expected this was quickly sorted out the next day by very apologetic owner Mr Hak and changed to \"proper\" room. Given free dinner/dance show at local theatre and free dinner at Sonalong as way of apology which were kindly accepted. Had just come from 8 night stay at 5 star resort in Vietnam but I must say we really enjoyed Sonalong as much and such great value for money. Included cooked-to-order breakfasts excellent as was food we enjoyed for lunch and dinner and so very cheap. Cheeseburger for $3.50 unbelievable value. The garden and pool area are really lovely and the staff very friendly and obliging. A special mention to Mr Joy, the Night Receptionist, who provided assistance and support on our first disappointing night and throughout our stay. Even took us on an additional temple tour on our last day. Because we had a late flight out at 6.30 pm Mr Hak arranged our bags be stored in an empty room until we checked out at 4 pm so we could shower and change later. Excellent service!

The best of Boutique accommodation
This was the fourth time i have stayed at this Hotel. Each time i have returned i have found that small improvements have been made & a spa is the latest addition since my last visit. The units are set in a tropical garden which is meticulously maintained & the swimming pool is always clean & refreshing. Mr Hak & is staff are wonderful hosts

Lovely hotel, friendly staff.
All the staff were friendly, kind and welcoming especially Mr Rith (our driver), who met us at the airport with a warm smile, drove us on all our tours, and returned us safely back to the airport five days later. We are a family of four and were given two interconnecting rooms with a large spacious balcony. The hotel was set in beautiful gardens and the pool area was lovely, with plenty of shade. Everything was clean. Breakfast was cooked to order and very tasty and there was a good choice. The orange juice was freshly squeezed. Sal was effecient and organised our tours which were amazing. Chin (our guide)was very imformative and interesting. The hotel was within walking distance of the centre of Siem Reep which had a good night market and a picturesque river area.

we loved our stay here. We had the family suite upstairs with adjoined bedrooms and a beautiful huge patio. The pool was quite nice especially after seeing the temples. You can either take a ten minute walk to night market or catch a tuk tuk for $2us. The hotel arraigned tour guide and car which was excellent. Some language issues when ordering food, but staff is very helpful.

Lovely grounds, spacious room, no AC
The staff greeted me with a welcome drink and helped me to my room, where I found out there was no air conditioning and only a directional fan that could not be fixed to aim at the bed. That was a big surprise for the price. I had been traveling in Indochina for a while so was somewhat used to the humidity, but still found it uncomfortable. Otherwise, the staff could not have been more helpful and the wifi in the room was a nice touch.

The staff were very accommodating and friendly. We stayed in rooms 209 & 210 which opened up together to create a huge room. The huge balcony, right outside our doors, was so nice to sit and have drinks on after a long hot day in the sun.

We stayed for 4 nights. The staff are very helpfu, friendly and accommodating. The \"hotel preferred\" Tuk tuk driver was very knowledgeable regarding Ankgor Watt and the surrounding area.

Oasis of calm yet very central in Siem Reap
Great place to relax away from the crowds and bustle of Siem Reap. Very clean and well kept grounds and swimming pool. One could order off the breakfast menu and as many items as wished. It was heaven to feast on the fresh fruit whilst sitting besides the swimming pool and listening to the birds in the lush gardens.
The staff were wonderful especially the young girl waitress who was going back to school on the advice of her manager.

Absolutely lovely staff who are so happy and willing to please. Resort is small and quiet which is a bonus. Only a short distance from the main area of Siam Reap which was also another bonus. Good breakfast and dinner menu.

One of my most favourite hotels ever!
I loved staying at this hotel...for 5 weeks! I left feeling like a friend who will always return whenever I can and there were also other regular guests staying at the hotel. The staff are wonderful...so friendly and helpful. The owner, Mr Hak offers a genuine welcome when you arrive and is the font of all local knowledge and information. He and his staff offer any help and assistance that you are likely to need.

This was a nice hotel. About 15 mins walk from Old Market area and neighbourhood is quiet at night. Has nice garden settings with good pool for cooling off. Rooms are a good size with roomy bathrooms, very clean, basic hanging rods (not cupboards), aircon and ceiling fan. Little TV and kettle with basic amenities. Good size balcony with comfy chairs.

My wife and I spent 7 days at Sonalong Boutique Village & Resort for our honeymoon. Our stay was absolutely spectacular!!! The staff are EXTREMELY courteous, polite, and thoughtful, and they really give a lot of attention to detail. The free breakfast is a wonderful value and has local as well as western options. The saltwater pool was one of our favorite parts of Sonalong because the water is much gentler and more soothing than a chlorinated pool. The gardens are very well manicured and showcase a wide variety of local plant life (I am a biology major so this was especially interesting to me). The fact that the resort has a village layout with separated rooms is really nice because it provides more privacy. The neighborhood where Sonalong is located is quiet and very safe. I estimate that the hotel is about 4 or 5 blocks from the night market. Siem Riep is surprisingly quiet and safe at night. We were able to go on evening walks into town (most people take tuk tuks be we liked to walk and bike). There are many foreigners walking in the streets even at night. Sonalong is not very far from Angkor Wat (at least in my opinion). My wife and I biked the 5 or 7 miles from the hotel to the temples. The only inconvenience was that the water in the shower would erratically alternate between hot and cool. Otherwise, Sonalong was an absolute dream to stay at and I highly recommend it!!

Mr Hak makes this place. He is pleasant, resourceful, informative and knowledgable. The staff are all very courteous and helpful. It is neat and clean, relatively new and in a tropical garden setting with a central sparkling pool. It is peaceful and quiet within acceptable walking distance of the town centre, or a tuk-tuk costs $2. All In all the complete package. Highly recommended.
