The staff was incredibly kind, rooms were clean. On the opposite side of the river (quieter, but fewer dining options, but pub street a short walk or tuk tuk ride away). Room is clean, but probably due for an update. Pool is nice, but if you’re going to use the pool, suggest a pool access room.

I have stayed at the golden temple retreat 3 times and each time it gets better and better. It is top notch. They go above and beyond. For my birthday the stff beautify decorated my room and then the entire staff came to my room to sing happy birthday to me. Very special to me as its also the day, 1 year ago, i had open heart surgery the day befour my 55th birthday. If you dont stay at the golden temple you woud be making a mistake. Rooms are beautiful, tub and showers are amazing.best hotel ever!

The hotel is lovely and a great base for Siam Reap. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the center. Room and breakfast exceptional . Service was top notch, especially Nat at reception. They know your name. Problem is it was low season and there was too much staff so it was a bit hovering. They will also arrange ankor wat tours and the prices didn’t seem too overcharged - we did on own.
The one concern is we had pickup from the airport. While the price at $30 is good, it was a 1960s American car and we felt it was unsafe.

My family are very happy to return after 8 years and found it to be the same great hotel we remembered. The staff are very helpful and kind about every aspect of the services they offer. The breakfast is excellent and everything is maintained with great care. The hot stone massage and aroma therapy massage are awesome too. We are definitely coming back to Golden Temple Retreat in the future!

This resort was great in almost every way. The walk into town is not long but dodgy as sidewalks are often missing or blocked by something. Our only suggestion is to heat the pool. As the pool is located in a shady area, it was too cool for us to spend as much time in as we hoped.

Spa treatment were good too with one free massage included. It was very hot when we were there and the air con was not quite strong enough, but we were able to borrow a fan. They hype is real -- the Golden Temple Retreat is an absolute gem in Siem Reap. The staff make every effort to learn your name and give you highly personalized attention, so that you feel attended to and cared for at all times throughout your stay. Our room was very nice, and the hotel itself and pool are lovely. The location is ideal as it is only a short walk to the Pub Street area and other restaurants/nightlife/market areas. Highly recommend!

We have just spent two weeks at The Golden Temple Retreat. The hotel is beautiful calm and relaxing. The pool is wonderful and totally refreshing after a day exploring the temples and city. The hotel is in a great place just a short walk from the market and pub street without being too close. Our room was beautiful, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with beautiful sweet fruits and a wide selection of food for everyone. The omelettes were divine. The dinner and lunch menu was good and cooked beautifully. I definitely recommend a massage in the spar. We both had the traditional Khmer massage which was wonderful, and very discreet as we were given a pair of pyjamas to wear throughout the massage, which I totally appreciated. I just wish I hadn’t left it until the day before we were leaving before having it because I felt so comfortable that I would have had a few more.

Golden Temple Retreat is just that -- a quite, well-staffed retreat in the middle of Siem Reap. We absolutely loved this place. The only negative was some struggle to make the AC work, but the staff was very attentive to our needs and took care of the problem.

The staff we’re very nice. A massage for 2 people is included in your rate and a very nice 3 course lunch as well as return transfers to the airport. They are seriously understaffed so events like happy hour are non existent even though advertised etc. I would rate this at a higher rate but it is seriously overpriced for what you get and the level of service. We paid way too much per night. it is around a $100-120 night experience.

The staff are very engaging and genuinely committed to ensure guests have a comfortable and pleasant stay. This was our second time staying at The Golden Temple Retreat. Our experience exceeded our expectations starting with the airport pickup all the way through check-in and our room. All hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet offered so many choices, and the breakfast takeaway option for sunrise was a nice option.The spa was just what we needed as our visit wound down.

We really enjoyed our room which was on the main floor and right by the pool. We would step outside our door and be greeted by the mini waterfall cascading over the bar ...just a few steps brought us to a lounge chair where we relaxed comfortably for hours. The staff were incredibly attentive - making sure we were well fed and hydrated. My boyfriend and I are both vegetarian and the staff made sure to accommodate us accordingly. The buffet in the morning was extensive and delicious. The lunch and dinner courses were presented to us in beautiful Cambodian cutlery. Meanwhile, dinner was accompanied by friendly staff and a “cultural dance show.” The staff made our stay incredibly memorable with their class & hospitality - both at the front desk and at the spa. We particularly really enjoyed getting to know Lee at the front desk - who brought smiles to our faces every time we saw him! The tour driver organized by our hotel was also very professional and pleasant to be around. The snacks that greeted us at every turn was such a lovely surprise and we loved our short but meaningful visit at the Golden Temple Palace.

The Golden Temple Retreat is amazing in every way. The young lady who picked us up from the airport was one of the nicest people I've ever met. She gave us a lot of information about the area and the history of Siem Reap as we were driven from the airport to the retreat (this was a free service and included in the price of the room). She gave us cold drinks, cold towels and a karma (scarf that is worn by many people in the area). The hotel room had incredible views of the pool and the lovely grounds. The welcome included free traditional food served on a silver tray in silver challis. The iced tea drink was especially refreshing. The breakfast that was included every morning was great and the free message was the best message we had while traveling through Vietnam, Thailand, and Cambodia. The pool was sparkling and refreshing after a day in the Cambodian heat. Every time we came back to the hotel they were waiting with cold drinks and cold towels. Our stay was one will always remember, everything you could ask for and more!

I’d selected the hotel based on excellent guest reviews, and I was not disappointed: in fact in several ways the experience beat my expectations. The room was spacious and stylish, the bed’s comfort was excellent and just what was needed after a long days’ trecking, i loved the bathroom amenities. The breakfast was delicious, and we were also treated to a lunch and dinner on the house, which were a great introduction to Khmer cuisine. The hotel was within walking distance from pub street and the night markets, and we were able to walk home after a night stopping and dancing at the various clubs we came across on the way back.
The sunrise tour at Angkor Wat, followed by Angkor Thom and Ta Phrom was magical, and the guide was phenomenal, as well as being an expert photographer- we’ve taken home some great memories we’ll cherish for life.

Beautiful little boutique hotel with stunning artwork and wonderful spa facilities. We could not have had a warmer welcome from everyone at the Golden Temple retreat , we were met at the airport and introduced to Siem Reap and given a real insight into Cambodian culture on the journey to the hotel. The welcome drink and local snacks were truly delicious and it was a good way to relax after our journey. The rooms are beautiful and have a real spa feel , loved the turmeric body scrub and great bathtub for a much needed pampering. The night we arrived we witnessed traditional and highly skilled dance performance in the dining area and upon waking the following morning we sampled a fabulous breakfast which catered for all tastes and featured high quality local produce. If you are looking to relax in an intimate and authentic retreat featuring an exciting menu and expert treatments look no further than this hotel.

I cannot begin to describe how fantastic this hotel is! We took advantage of the rivate 2 day temple tour they arranged also which was phenomenal! The lakeside picnic, the car and driver, and tour guide, breakfast in the boat, the temples, were all amazing and we felt a bargain as well for all you get! Our nightly rate also included some free meals, free Airport tranafers, free massages. They can't be beat!

We have been very happy with the experience at Golden Temple Retreat. Staff are very friendly and helpful, we were given additional items on top of our package such as a set khmer dinner and one our massage and a room to shower before leaving to the airport even if we had not requested late check out. And they always accommodated vegetarian food for us.
The room was spacious and modern and the bed super comfortable.
They also organized a private tour for us.

Loved our 3 night stay at this hotel. The staff and their service is A+++. From the moment they pick you up at the airport to the moment they drop you back to the airport they make you feel welcome and special. They do little things for you that really make a difference, from welcome drinks, food snacks, parting gifts and cold towels upon arrival back to the hotel (great on hot and humid days). The room was excellent, we stayed on the ground floor with pool access which we enjoyed as they have day beds to lay on directly outside your room which we used everyday as there is limited deck chairs around the pool. The pool is a good size and very refreshing. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The air con and wifi worked very well and the beds are super comfy. The breakfast was vast, fresh and delicious. Happy Hour was also great around the pool area. We really enjoyed our free massage and went back again for one more at a very reasonable cost as it was so good. The location of the hotel was great too, An easy walk to pub street, tuk tuk’s are always outside the hotel if you want to use them and there are plenty of restaurants and a few shops to buy cold drinks at etc. would highly recommend this hotel.

What a fantastic stay at a great, boutique hotel. From the moment we were picked up from the airport everything was thought out and delivered with aplomb. For mine, when you work in hospitality there is no such word as \"no\" unless it is actually impossible to accomplish. The staff at Golden Temple acted this way, answering questions, fulfilling requests and doing everything with a smile, good attitude and humour that was enjoyable.

Fabulous stay, from start to finish. Staff here were so thoughtful, gracious. And the hotel has taken great care to put together a wonderful guest experience from airport welcome to final check-out. We saw the great reviews before booking online, but our stay still exceeded expectations. Well designed room, great breakfast buffet, strong set of amenities in a small hotel, but staff make the experience superlative. Well done, Temple group. Cheers!!

Recently spent 8 days at this resort. Perfect experience started with airport pickup (after 90 mins to get through passport control), seeing my name on a placard was such a relief. Cool cloth, coconut drink, and scarf added special tiuch. Check-smooth and efficient. Stayed in Room 308- huge with equally large bathroom. Staff able to arrange temple tours. The on site spa was amazing- indulged in 4 treatments. Cost very reasonable. Used tuk-tuks to get around to markets and restaurants recommended on line. The markets are a walkable distance (15 mins or so), once you get used to route.
Breakfast had lots variety. Pool area nice- lush and green.
Would advise travellers to Siem Reap to bring lots American currency- especially $1 and $5 bills as every place has prices in USD (including markets).

The best welcome at the airport possible (Thankyou Chen!) with chilled coconuts, cold towels and a very charming host set the tone for the next 4 days. Nothing was too much trouble and all the little touches (welcome and departing gifts, snacks in the room, takeaway breakfasts) were all much appreciated. Great location too, away from the hubub of town, but an easy 10 minute stroll or $2 tuk tuk ride (easily available) to the centre. Couldn't have been better - Golden Temple Retreat, your staff are an amazing asset, look after them well.

Really wonderful food, staff, rooms and service. We booked a car and a tuk tuk through the hotel for two of our days of visiting temples. Drivers spoke good English, had good ideas on what to see, and we’re very open to making something extra stops. The other hotel staff were also fantastic.

This is a lovely little hotel with the friendliest, nicest, most attentive staff ever encountered. There was a very efficient transfer service to and from the airport, with a charming escort who spoke superb English and provided masses of information about the town. This is a new hotel less than 10 minutes walk to the local markets (day and night) and to Pub Street for restaurants and night life. Only 5 minutes walk to Kings Road shops and Hard Rock Cafe. Having travelled extensively worldwide, the standard of service and hospitality extended at this hotel is unsurpasssed. The rooms are a good size with all amenities, the buffet breakfast is good and the complimentary airport pick up/drop off service is superb. I had a great complimentary one hour Khmer massage. We had a fabulous two night stay here and wished we’d had the time to stay another day. I would recommend this hotel unreservedly. The staff live a breath excellent customer service
