The laundry machines weren’t great, a lot of lint would stick to my clothes from them. But very affordable compared to other laundry services in hotels. The only other complaint I have is that the walls in the rooms are nasty, a lot of stains and grime all over them. But other than that the rooms are pretty clean and the staff are wonderful, they are so kind and helpful. The location is also very convenient with it being right next to a 7/11 and a short walk from Akihabara, would stay here again.

This is a basic hotel in a convenient location, and for me it was perfect. It was very clean, very quiet, with good water pressure, wonderful staff, and the most comfortable mattress I've had while traveling. I mean, a GREAT mattress - firm but not hard, no dips, felt like a new mattress. I was not a fan of the pillows but I believe this is a Japan issue for me rather than a hotel-specific issue. If you want fancy, this is probably not the place for you. If you want quiet, comfortable, clean and an easy walk to Ueno and multiple train stations, and you don't need a lot of space (I had one medium suitcase and a daypack) I highly recommend this place. I was here for 6 nights and would stay here again.

You control the heat/AC in your room and each room has its own separate WiFi ID and password.

Staff are very kind and helpful. Room was clean, and it's really all you need if you plan on spending time exploring. Lots to see in the area, and close to the subway.
Make sure you ask for an extra pillow, since the default one in the room is hard.

The rooms are clean and tidy, the staff is so wonderful! Bonus, the hotel is perfectly located to shopping, dining, entertainment and trainlines (JR, H, G and C). There is so much to see and do and it is easy to hop on any of the railways to almost any location nearby. The hotel staff are so friendly and cheerful, we absolutely love this hotel and stayed last year - we will be back next year!

Overall a good stay, but there wasnt too many amenities (some coffee providedor larger mugs would be nice). Would suggest a vending machine with some snacks, but there are alot of food shops around.

Note that visitors not allowed up to the room even non staying family, and this is enforced by a mandatory stop on the concierge floor on the elevator

However the rooms were clean and the location was good and close to the station.

Great location between Ueno and Akihabara, also a few blocks from Metro and JR Okachimachi. So not right in the thick of things but close enough for accessibility walkability: also great for shinkansen and mainline trains connections at Ueno Station. Plenty of coffee shops, conbini, izakaya in area outside - also the food streets between Ueno and Okachimachi stations. And of course Akiba... Hotel itself is compact, well-serviced and the customary helpful and attentive staff at reception. Laundry on ground floor. Auto check-in and check-out options. Check out at 11am which is a bonus. I had the smallest room which was perfect for me and great value, would probably get the next size up single next time, but tbh had everything I needed.

This hotel was conveniently located in Akihabara, with Mcdonalds, Family Mart, and Lawson within a 3 min walk. Room was very basic but had all the necessities you need. (The walls were a bit thin though as we could hear the other guests in the hallway, etc). Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. A washing machine and dryer are located on the first floor with the reception desk and lobby on the second floor. The elevator will stop at the second floor every time, which starts to get a bit annoying but I'm assuming it's for safety reasons/etc. Check out is at 11 which is an hour later than most hotels, which is great! Overall, the Okachimachi Urban Hotel was a great choice. Would definitely stay here again!

This was our first hotel in Japan. We we were welcomed with the utmost respect and kindness. Tanikawa San was super nice and always helpful. He answered all of our questions always with a smile on his face, and if he did not know how to say it in English, he would use his phone interpreter, which made our communication easy. I cannot stress enough how great the service was for us. I wish we had stayed there longer.
The location was great too. Very close to Akihabara and to the train. Lots of eating and convenience stores nearby. The rooms are small which is normal for many Japanese hotels, but it does not matter because the service is amazing. Would definitely stay there again.

Good hotel with great location in Akihabara

The location was great however, the washroom was very small. Even compared to Apa hotel's washroom, this one was smaller. The reception is on the 2nd floor and the elvator always stops there which starts getting a little annoying after a few times. The receptionist was very friendly however. And they even checked us in early at 11am without us even asking with no extra fees.

I had a great time staying here for 9 nights. The area is very convenient and while there was construction in the building right next to the hotel, I did not hear any noise during the evening so it did not affect my sleep at all.

The location is a short walk away from the Tokyo Metro line and the JR line, making it super easy to get around town. It is also just a short walk away from areas such as Akihabara, Ameyoko Shopping Street and Ueno Park.

While the room was a bit smaller than other places I have stayed in Tokyo, I was still able to open my check luggage (clamshell style) completely. Overall, I was quite happy with my stay here and would visit again.

Apart from the cigarette smoke on the 2nd floor, because of the smoking room - the hotel is clean, comfortable and perfect. We will certainly reserve here again as it is so convenient to shopping, food and metro. The staff is very friendly, helpful and attentive.

12 minute walk from Okadamachi station.

Toilet and shower might be a little small if you’re a bigger person. I am 300 pounds and they were a little uncomfortable, but not unusable.

Air conditioning controls are nice. Room service always turned it on so the room felt amazing coming in from the summer heat.

Reception is on the 2nd floor. Elevator always stops on 2nd floor so they will greet you every time you enter or exit.

A receptionist named Tanikawa was especially great. He chatted with us and remembered events and gave us recommendations even a week after they happened. I spoke with him in Japanese, so I am not sure if he can speak English.

Overall was a very good experience!

Property was close and walkable to Ueno Train station, which the Skyliner Express Train from/to Narita Airport travels to. Makes it very convenient to start your trip in Japan. Also the subway lines are very close too. As a solo traveler, the room was adequate in size and has room for your luggage or backpack, nice bathroom, fridge, kettle, tv and desk. There's a eating area with microwave on second floor. Would book here again, which I did on this trip.

The room is compact and cozy. The sink is half way into the tub. You need to be careful getting up from the toilet since the towel rack is right above your head. The neighborhood is very quiet.The lady at the front desk speaks fluent English. All staffs are very friendly. Walking distance to the transportation and shopping.

The lobby is on the 2nd floor, you'll spend a lot of time waiting for the elevator as you have to stop there to hand over your room key every time you leave (no key cards in this hotel). Other than that it was a really good hotel and I recommend it for short stays

Due to tyhoon, my stay have been extended from 5 nights to another 4 nights. All staff are friendly and willing to help and English understanding can be better. One small thing do not understand, ¥100 tax was collected during my 1st extension, no tax was collected on my 2nd extension. I paid the rates and tax by credit card through expedia already.

The standard single Room is as small as expected, overall functional and clean. No reading light beside the bed is one bémol; the other is the lift which stops automatically on the reception floor (2nd) every up and down, even without request. Very convenient public transportation nearby.

Basic, clean hotel in great location

This is a pretty typical Japanese Business hotel. Rooms are small, but all the amenities you could need are available. Sparkling clean and friendly staff. Building is brand new, which is nice. Location was fantastic, being just north of Akihabara so you have access to all the amenities of that neighbourhood without being in the centre of all the crowds. Very short walk to Okachimachi JR station and a couple of subway stations, and still within walking distance of Ueno station for the Shinkansen.

Biggest issue is that the reception is on the second floor, there is one elevator, no convenient stairs, and strangely for a brand new hotel they use physical keys that you're supposed to leave at reception when you leave. This makes coming and going a much more involved process than it needs to be, as you have to wait for the single elevator TWICE each time coming and going. Switching to key cards like most modern hotels would be extremely helpful.

The check-in process was a little scatterbrained, which is understandable considering how new the place is. The staff's English was sometimes limited, but they are so nice and try their best to accommodate you. After checking out, they also had no problems stowing my luggage for a couple of hours

The room's smaller than US hotels but bigger than the last Tokyo hotel I stayed at. There are lots of amenities, including a hairdryer, a mini fridge, and pajamas, to name a few. Great soundproofing, my room was next to the elevator, but I didn't hear anything from that, or from my neighbor.

There's a really nice breakfast buffet for 800Y. I got to sample all sorts of traditional Japanese dishes. They also have a miso soup machine. Ror people with a more western taste, there are two kinds of pastries, yogurt, and fruit granola.

The hotel is located in a nice part of Tokyo. I could walk to Ueno park to the north and Akihabara to the south. I was also five minutes away from two subway lines (the Yamanote is my favorite). It's kind of a residential area with tasty food options nearby, so you can try some local food while eating with salarymen.

Cons: the bathroom is really small. There was some knee knocking.
Also, there's only one elevator for the entire hotel, and it moves pretty slowly. Fortunately, there's a stairway to quickly get down but once you enter, you can't go back in. Also, it's inconvenient to haul luggage down the stairs.
