It makes the outside of the room the same temperature as the street temperature.

- If temperature and outside noise makes you sleep badly, perhaps you would enjoy another location

At the first night there was an English speaking man trying to break into other room, with very loud noise and hitting the door with his luggage box, there was no any security assurance from the hotel. Next day after talk to the lobby my room was changed to another floor as I told them if it happened again like the night before I would call the police.

Rooms are SO SMALL. Feels like a cruise ship cabin. Staff super nice. Can walk to Electric City in 10 mins. Lots of food choices there. Coffee shop across from hotel was great. Highly recommend that place. Good food and good prices. Very friendly.

Beautiful, clean hotel. I only gave it 4 stars, because there were issues with heating/cooling. I woke up one night sweating, and the A/C wouldn’t change from heat. After a front desk visit, they said it was cold to some guests and they switched the thermostat to heat. And it affects the ENTIRE hotel. Apparently cost efficient. I do not sleep well in heat, and they did change it back. On checkout day, we checked out late for rest before flight and they did it again, but were less accommodating directing me to turn it off and open the window which is only a crack. In Tokyo, it wasn’t necessarily cold to me, but cool. I wouldn’t stay again because I didn’t want to be offensive to the culture/people, but I can’t do the heat while sleeping.

This was a great hotel 5 minutes walk to the station. Enough room for 2. I would definitely book the same hotel again. Laundry was payable by app and the TV showed the current status of the 2 washers and dryers. Check in was easy and painless and check out allows you to drop the keys on your way out. No complaints!

This is the 3rd time and 4th time I stayed here at the 378 location. its right at the JR line Okachimachi station. this is my regular hotel I stay at whenever I am in Tokyo. Before I made my trip to Osaka , i booked another stay at the 378 location. and when I arrived at Osaka, I stayed at the 372 location at Osaka Umeda Eki Tower. I highly recommend APA for a hotel stay. they clean your rooms where you can see the cleaning schedule on your hotel room TV. and there is a coin operated laundry which is very easy to use. and the detergent is automatically added in the machines.
Next time I go to Japan, I am coming back to APA hotels .... Always !!!!!

Great spot - some train noise as it's nearby the JR rail, but that's just white noise and very convenient for transportation. Hotel is clean, has everything you might need, and staff is friendly. The only suggestion I could make is to have more elevators (only one for the whole hotel, and while it is generally a bit slow given all the floors, at 10am checkout it is wildly congested, took about 5-10 min to finally catch it with room for us).

The tv cast was nice, amenities were great, distance was not an issue, a lot of food and shopping options nearby under 10 min walk. There were a couple of things I did not enjoy during my stay. One has nothing to do with the hotel, but my neighbor on the first 3 or so night. At several intervals from 9pm to midnight or 6am next day, I’d hear screaming or yelling constantly. The walls are thin. The next couple things are about the hotel itself. They’re trying to be sustainable I understand, but having one elevator with 14 floors does not help at all. The elevator systems seems a little off too. I was on the fourth floor, going down to the first floor always took a long time. If someone on the 14th floor presses it, even after I press it, it’ll go up to the 14th floor first and will start picking up people on the way down. If it’s full by the time it gets to my floor, I have to wait till it gets down to the first floor. And then repeat. There was a time I waited 3 times with the elevator passing my floor before I could get out of the hotel. It was a terrible experience. Another thing is I like having ventilation in the room, I get hot easily. I like to have cool air moving throughout the room. However the hotel controls the temp of whether it’ll be on cool or heat. And as customers we can only control the temp degree and fan power. For the longest time, I did not turn on any fan because it was on heat and I stayed there for almost 2 weeks.

This APA Hotel is new and tastefully decorated. We booked a twin deluxe room and it was spacious with comfortable beds, a large TV and beautiful bathroom.
What we didn’t like was the restaurant attached to the hotel - it is very basic and doesn’t complement the hotel. To enable us to order food we had to download an app and provide our personal information. We resented that invasion of our privacy so we could simply order a meal. They weren’t interested in taking an order in person, the good old fashioned way. We walked out and went elsewhere where we could get straightforward service.

Overall good stay in Ueno for the first couple nights to get acclimated to Tokyo. Ueno is very convenient when it comes to transportation since it links with both the Skyliner/JR lines/Local lines.

Located within walking distance of both Ueno and Akihabara, with local station Okachimachi connecting to the central Yamanote line. Close to the station, so can be a little noisy with the windows open, but otherwise in a quiet area with nearby convenience stores, restaurants and clothes shops. The room was clean, air conditioned, and basic amenities were provided (toothbrush and paste, cleaning cloth, cotton buds, cotton cleansing pads, razor, folding comb, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, hand and face foam wash). Hairdryer, kettle, tea and coffee facilities provided. Laundry facilities on site, as well as a vending machine for drinks just past the lobby. The staff were attentive, polite, and very helpful. We couldn’t be happier with our hotel choice this time, and would gladly stay again on our next visit.

Hotel is within walking distance to a large Ueno Station & 5 smaller stations. It is easy to select the shortest train line out of these stations. My room is next to 6 train tracks. For those that are sensitive to noice it may be better to pick one of another 6 APA hotel in the area.
