We had a fantastic stay and Twin Bay. The hotel was so relaxing and staff were very friendly.
The access to the beach is so easy and the water so warm. It wasn't deep as there were sandbanks but you could swim out.
We ate at the on site restaurant which was good food and wasn't expensive.
Would definitely stay here again and was sad to leave

The only thing bad about the experience was the extortionate, mandatory New Year’s dinner. For 3000 baht ($85) - one whole extra night’s stay! - the food should have been very special. It was only all the normal things from the menu, served buffet style, and no alcohol included! The hotel informed us that if we did not agree to pay this exorbitant fee, they could cancel our reservation at any time. My mother in law is elderly and does not eat very much, so to charge $85 for a salad and some shrimp just to insure the reservation seems ludicrous. She otherwise enjoyed the grounds and the staff were lovely. It was just this terribly overpriced meal extortion that left a bad taste in the mouth. In conclusion: yes, we recommend staying there, as long as it isn’t during a major holiday!

This was a hidden gem. The property is right on the beach. Even cabins that are not \"beach front\" it is just a short walk, 10 steps off the pool, and you are on the beach.

My teenagers only complaint was \"The breakfast Buffett was not enough.\" My wife and I felt there was plenty of food. They had omelets or eggs cooked to order, cereal, fruit, Thai food, toast, juice, coffee,tea, yogurt, and salad.

The resort is on the top of Ko Lanta where it is more quiet. A short walk down the beac will lead to more busy area with convince stores, restaurants that sever Thai, American, and European food.

Overall a great place to be that is quiet and very relaxing.

The staff was excellent. We had a problem with our AC and they were quick to help get that resolved.

We enjoyed our stay. Our family loved it and would come back.

There are not many \"things\" to do at the hotel. Which for our family with older kids was perfect. We played volleyball on the beach, played football on the beach, and rented scooters to visit other areas around the island. Perfect quiet location to just relax

The staff were very polite. The only problem was they allow people to use the pool at night and you get kids dive bombing and shouting around the pool area where people are trying to sleep. When I asked someone to keep the noise down I just got abuse. We reported this to the manager but it happened again. So another session of not being able to sleep. Our first experience there was good in a delux seafront room our second trip was not so good. It was a beach front room but not a delux. The room was shabby with a very uncomfortable bed. The towels were shabby old brown ones which were slightly smelly. The door didn’t fit well so we used the beach towels to block the gaps to stop insects coming in

Loved the area and the beachfront suite was great

Loved the beachfront suite. Very large, the 'living room' had a very nice sofa and curved smart TV. Very firm bed, which was really the only knock. Views down the beach were so cool lit up at night. Very short drive from the pier but very quiet and private feeling. Loved that they rented scooters at the resort as not much is withing walking distance. I thought that was a good thing. Breakfast was very good. They had beach BBQ's which were very nice. Staff was very helpful. Beach was so quiet. The island vibe is so calm and relaxing. Loved it and hated leaving. 4 island tour picked us up on a speed boat from the water in front of our room. It's a must do.

Good value! Great location for relaxation!

We stayed for a week and explored the island. It was a perfect vacation away from our vacation! Loved the location - just a short tuk-tuk to Saladan, but the beach was a highlight. Restaurant was okay - a bit pricey and we had to send burgers back to be further cooked. Front staff was helpful getting mopeds and arranging laundry service.

May is the Wrong season here

The beach is not cleaned. Apparently the government starts cleaning it in June??????
Many restaurants and stores are closed as it is low season but there are still some good choices nearby.
I think it would be a lovely place to stay at a different time of year. Check first to make sure beach is being cleaned and restaurant is open for all meals.

I did hours of research and read many reviews on resorts in the Krabi area. I wanted a place on the beach, which I got, quiet, which it was and affordable, which it was. BUT the beach was covered in garbage washed in from the sea. Walking into the water you could feel it surrounding you and see it floating around you. Now I realize that, unfortunately, this wash-up can't be controlled BUT why can't the beach itself be cleaned?? It should be raked every morning by staff who, at this time of year, have little to do....My three friends and I were the only ones there most of the time.

On the plus side, the staff was very pleasant and we were upgraded to a beach view bungalow for half the usual price. These seemed old but clean and comfortable with hot water sink and rain head shower. They transportation to and from the resort was very efficient. Because of low seas there was only a set menu for breakfast and we found the food at lunch to be average but pricey. The restaurant was closed for dinner but there are other very nice options nearby.

The hotel is right on the beach. It has a great pool. Tue restaurant is good. The staff are friendly.
Rooms are very basic and clean. Tv has English channels. The only draw back I'dis that I saw lots of ants and flies in the bathroom and shower but it might be because of the weather and the fact that we are right on the beach. Overall for the price is a great great hotel with great staff

Good pick for a good price

Nice hotel at one one of my favourite beaches on the whole island. Perfect for a relaxing holiday. I would however recommend renting a motor bike, since the hotel is located in a relatively quiet area, whereas the pier and the town of Saladen, where you can find lots of small shops, restaurants and good street food, are only a short drive away.

The view is absolutely gorgeous during sunrise and sunset being on the beachfront, 5 mins by bike away was tons of restaurants and bars. Room was alright, could be cleaned better, floor is sticky and bed was hard. Buy mosquito repellent first chance you get or you will be eaten by mosquitos, they have a mosquito net for the bed, but full of holes so patch it up before using. Bathroom is nothing much, water pressure is non existent, it's big enough to put a tub but no tub. Breakfast is a mix of Asian and western, not a big spread but enough.

Nice area, big tidal variation

The Twin Bay was an ok stay but when I booked it a few months ago via Hotel.com it didn't state that they were going to renovate the place. The reception area was in the middle of an open area, well that's that but the restaurant was none existing. And they were hammering, and making noise from 8 in the morning until 9 in the evening.
The owner is very kind and helpful and it is a beautiful area not too close to other resorts which gives it a private feeling. They have family rooms and double rooms.
It's only a 2,5 km walk to Saladan. Overall ok stay but I think I would have enjoyed it more if there had been no renovation going on.

The hotel has an excellent location, provided you can arrange for a hired bike or some such means of transportation. The beach front bungalows which we stayed at were directly facing the beach. I could keep an eye on my kid playing on the beach while we relaxed on the easy chairs in front of our bungalow.
There is no restaurant in the hotel at present which posed a problem at times. Other than that we loved our stay there.

Twin Bay is a low budget option, near to the town but a little far to walk. There are restaurants nearby but no stores in easy walking distance -- making it hard to get by and get enough water etc. without a scooter. However scooter rental is easy and traffic calm enough to brave it.

There is one swimming beach and one non-swimming. The swimming beach is a really lovely beach and would be my pick for Koh lanta, specifically the part in front of this hotel is sheltered and garbage free. We stayed in the deluxe and regular room on different nights.

Hotel does need to finish restaurant construction (aug 15) so that deluxe rm isn't so noisy and to fix the mild septic smell by the regular rooms. Regular rooms were smaller but quieter with better beach access but can't open the window.

Nice hotel with a long beach. the beach front bungalows are great. Close to the nearby city of Sala Dan by scooter. Breakfast OK, nothing special. Overall a recommended place on the Koh Lanta Island. Never tried the pool, internet connection is ok. Staff is pleasant and helpful. Pick up and drop-off at the pier in Sala Dan possible from hotel.

John and David did everything to make our stay enjoyable.
The view is to die for as you swim in the infinity pool overlooking the beach and ocean.
The tide comes in and out and at low tide the beach is very wide.
The ocean is all sand and one can walk out a long way before it deepens.
We had a satisfying breakfast and went into town for dinner at the Fat Monkey.
The beach bar was always a pleasant place to spend some time.
This property is good value for money.

We stayed there 2 nights, originally bought 2 but then extended because we really liked it. It was low season and we felt that we are there alone at times. Excellent infinitive pool accessible 24/7 and we have it just for ourselves most of the time.

Our room came with complimentary scooter hire which is handy as Kho Lanta is rather big island, public transport nonexistent and Twin Bay hotel is a bit offhand from amenities.

The only drawback was breakfast - not really worth the money, apparently it is due to low season and few guests.

Beautiful Resort with picture book views

I had a fantastic stay at Twin Bay Resort. From the moment I checked in the staff was so pleasant and attentive to me and I saw the same with other guests as they arrived. The room was spotless and cleaned daily. The grounds and pool were cleaned every morning. The restaurant staff served me well, the morning Chef at the free breakfast buffet was especially on top of his game, always smiling and making sure everyone was enjoying the food. The resort grounds are so beautiful and so peaceful. I was looking for a quiet getaway and I was not the least bit disappointed. If you want to be in the middle of the action this is not the place for you. It is a very fast taxi or scooter ride to the nearby town yet close enough to walk to as I did many times enjoying the beautiful views on the way. I must mention that John the General Manager is always on the property and walking the grounds and makes himself available to all of the guests. Years ago I myself was involved in hotel management and John is the epitome of a true professional. I myself tend to be very critical at times but I have to say I was not the least bit disappointed in my stay and I hope to return soon...........The Resort website and Facebook page set the proper expectations for those looking for a peaceful, relaxing vacation with beautiful memories whether you are a family with children, a romantic couple or a single traveler.

A quiet and peaceful location, by the beach

The best thing about Twin Bay is its location. Although it is situated right at the beach, it isn't noisy or crowded as it is about 5 - 10 minutes walking distance from a whole line of restaurants and hotels. It is literally sandwhiched between two water bodies which adds to its charm. Another plus point is that you can rent bikes from the hotel itself (at affordable rates). It was fun riding around and exploring the place. The rooms are decent and clean, nothing spectacular. Breakfast includes a whole spread, not bad at all.

A warm welcome

From the moment we arrived off our ferry boat there was a friendly man with a car waiting to pick us up and bring us to the Twin Bay resort. When we arrived we were greeted with a smile and answers to our various questions from John the manager about what we could do on the Island, from what shopping my girlfriend could do, to doing something more adventurous like walks on the rocks to get us to another beach. I even won a cocktail made by Eric for guessing correctly his nationality. (I'll let you figure it out).

The room was nice, the bed comfy and I greatly appreciated having a huge mosquito net over our bed which meant I could sleep sounder without fear of being nibbled whilst I slept. Location is good and very close to the beach. We particularly liked the laid back and informal/friendly manner of the management and staff.

There always seemed to be time for a smile from everyone working there, something that I find lacks in more boutique hotel environments. The managers John & Eric were always available for questions or if needed a friendly chat or a bit of friendly banter. The chef was very friendly also.

Having worked within the hotel industry for over 17 years it's nice to see all the staff & management get on and this reflects onto it's guests. Oh and the Internet is fantastic, no having to log in and out or wait ages to access a site. Well done Twin Bay, keep up the good work.

We really enjoyed our stay here-- so quiet and on a nice beach. Loved the infinity pool beachside and had some good massages there to. We had a garden side room which was clean but if you can, I'd splurge for the ocean view ones. Lovely stay with no complaints.

Value resort on Koh Lanta

John, the resident manager was great, very responsive, addressed our needs immediately. The staff overall were very good as well.

We were here during their off season so there was a lot of maintenance, upkeep and improvements going on. A good sign that the resort is maintaining their property.

We paid <$40/night for a family room and this included breakfast, internet and 4 bottles of water per day. Accommodations are rustic as is the property, the rate reflects this. It's situated in the middle of the bay so the water was very calm. It's also beach side so you step out of your room and 25 meters later, you're on the sand.

Internet was patchy, probably due to congestion since early morning hours up until 7am, it was easily accessible and fast. Otherwise, it was difficult to connect though router signal was strong.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay here.

Great location, well run and maintained, friendly smiling staff, spacious clean room with very effective a/c, excellent internet (unlike our accommodation in Krabi!) and good value for money. Nice pool, ideal for kids. If you are looking for gold taps and marble in bathrooms, raging nightlife or expensive dining room then stay at one of the 5 star resorts. We thought Twin Bay was ideal, ended up staying for nearly 3 weeks and would definitely stay here again if we return to Ko Lanta.

Great hotel for a beach break for familiies

I really enjoyed our stay at this resort. The food at the restaurant was great and the service was fantastic with very attentive waiters, particularly in the restaurant. The pool was clean and only a couple of steps across to the beach. The bar closed very early on a couple of evenings which was disappointing, especially as we had been told that it would always be open if the guests needed it to be. I thought that it was particularly good value for money and would definitely go again.

Small, intimate resort. Excellent location on the far northwest corner of Koh Lanta, with great views on both sides. The beachfront rooms are as advertised, 20 feet from the water at high tide. The staff were extremely helpful in making sure our stay is enjoyable.

Great location ON the beach. Very children friendly, quiet part of the beach. Rooms are ok/nice but would go for the beachfront bungalows to have a nice terrace to sit on in the evenings after the kids go to bed. The other rooms have terraces but not so nice. Rooms were clean and the maids did a fantastic job every day, however the service otherwise in the hotel (restaurant, bar etc) had a big improvement potential... Pool was heavily chlorinated and there were a lot of small things to be fixed, ex broken steps, lights, floor boards in the pool area.
Over all: Hotel with a lot of potential on a beautiful, quiet beach, nice surroundings, clean and comfortable rooms, but a way to go on the service and maintenance.

Quiet and beautiful

Located at the quiet end of Khlong Dao Beach, Twin Bay is quiet and relaxing. Perfect for the beach (great for running) and you can access other hotels, bars and restaurants within 30min beach walk. The pier restaurants and markets are a short tuktuk ride away (50 baht pp one way though, which is quite steep in local terms).

Room was comfortable and the hotel grounds are pretty. Breakfast was fairly basic compared to most Thai standards, but sufficient. We only ate a the restaurant once, as the western food wasn't great. Should have known to order Thai though!

lowkey hotel on a quiet beach

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 6 nights on our recent trip to Thailand. We had originally booked only 3 nights and extended because we loved it so much.
THis is a very quiet area and we shared the hotel with only about 6 other guests at a time. We visited during low season so things were really slow and quiet on most of the island.
The pool and beach are perfect and the restaurant and bar as well.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
We were able to rent motorbikes directly from the hotel.
Would reccommend this place to couples and families looking for a quiet place to stay, but not for those looking to party or meet new people as it's out of the way and not a happening place.

Hôtel direct sur la plage

Agréable séjour malgré un petit soucis vite réparé : la télévision ne fonctionnait pas sur la TV gratuite (live TV) uniquement sur les chaînes payantes J'ai dit que je ne voulais pas payer et que j'avais droit à une télévision comprise dans le prix Un technicien est passé et a reconnecté les chaînes et un câble soit disant inopérant. Les rideaux ne sont pas occultants donc réveillés de bonne heure et la climatisation bruyante.
Dans les bungalows \"de luxe\" sur la plage vous avez un douche et une baignoire. Pas de chaussons ni de peignoir. Sur la terrasse 2 transats. Celle -ci n'est pas nettoyée correctement et aurait besoin d'être frottée pour retirer ce \"noir\". Ainsi que les coussins des transats : ne pas les retourner ils sont très sales ! Un rideau avait encore la trace d'un moustique écrasé. C'est la raison pour laquelle je ne mettrai pas une bonne note sur la propreté.

L'hôtel donne directement sur la plage. La mer à cette endroit n'est pas très profonde. La situation n'est pas excellente pour sortir à pieds.
Piscine très agréable avec vue sur la mer, jacuzzi et transats ombragés.
Petit déjeuner un peu léger en choix.

Construction work outside our door at 7.30am sunday morning is not acceptable unless informed in advance.

Proche d'une très belle plage qui donne tout son charme à cet hôtel dont le personnel apparaît au départ comme un peu dur mais qui s'occupe très bien de nous. Le logement en beach front est tout bonnement super car ma vue est au niveau de nos attentes. La propreté est quasi irréprochable. Les repas sont très bons mais restent un peu chers par rapport à la ville proche de 1 à 2 kms. Le petit dej est moyen ( pas d'une grande qualité générales mais correct) la piscine est par contre décevante selon moi car vieillisante et parfois trop froide ( ce qui n'est pas qu un inconvénient )
Dans l'ensemble nous sommes satisfait de notre séjour qui grâce à la situation de l'hôtel nous a enchanté !

Very quiet and relaxed place, perfectly situated at the end of the bay, perfect for families with small children, nice bungalows with very good bunk beds for the kids, air con was aged and very cold, restaurant service was kind but ineffective, pool was nicely situated facing the beach, but worn, needs a restoration

Séjour de 3 nuits en chambre standard. Etat vieillissant mais propre. Gros problème de management, le personnel est livré à lui-même sans esprit d'initiative. Tables de piscine jamais débarrassées. Produits manquants non remplacés. Les petits déjeuners sont corrects mais il faut réclamer plusieurs fois les denrées manquantes.

Låg standard till högt pris

Ett hotell med trevliga bungalows som var välstädade och fina. Men tyvärr var resten av hotellet smutsigt o slitet. Sopor lagrades bakom baren vilket gjorde att råttor trivdes där. Råttor sprang tom på bardisken. Stranden är inte speciell badvänlig då det är ebb stora delar sv dagen. Frukosten inte någon speciell.

Perfekt läge vid stranden. Lugnaste läget då det ligger nästan längst bort.
Frukosten var ok, men lite torftlig
Hotellet skulle vinna på att byta ut eller fräscha upp möblemanget-det var lite ofräscht.

Does not match the pricetag

We were upgraded to here due to a last minute cancelation by expedia due to overbooking of a 4 month old fully paid for booking. It's a nice place with very friendly staff but at the far end of the beach. About 15min walking across the beach to the nearest restaurants.

We we're in a beachfront deluxe bungalow. Which is indeed at the beachfront but doesn't have access to the beach. You'll have to walk around the pool. The bathroom is more luxurious than the regular beachfront bungalow but the bathtub takes at least an hour to fill so it's an unusable extra you pay for. Ours was located next to the bar and it's loud music. But after notifying the staff about our babies trouble getting to sleep they turned the volume down without further incidents of it being up during our stay. Very nice!

All in all it's a very nice place but given the price we wouldn't recommend it.

Så dejligt sted

Perfekt hotel til ren afslapning. Så dejligt med små hytter også en lækker pool og strand. Personalet var søde og hjælpsomme i forhold til ture. Hvis man skulle på eks. en tur ud og snorkle på en af øerne (købt tur) så blev man hentet i båd på stranden ved hotellet.

Cet hôtel est situé face à la mer ce qui donne une vue imprenable. Vue sur la mer depuis la piscine ce qui est fort appréciable. C'est un hôtel bungalow ils sont un peu vieillissant mais ils sont propres. Le gérant est très sympa. Nous avions une valise cassée et ils nous a aidé pour la réparer. Il est bien situé un peu en retrait du port de saladan c'est appréciable d'être au calme, mais l'île est petite on accède assez vite à tout. Comparé à de nombreux hôtels en thailande le réseau de cet hôtel wifi est juste au top !!!

Liten familjärt hotell. Poolen i anslutning till stranden som vid vår vistelse var så gott som folktom. Kändes som om vi var på en ödestrand! Lite slitna rummet,men man är ju inte så mycket på rummet ändå! 100 Bath så tar du en tuktuk in till byn. Onödigt dyra priser på maten i restaurangen. Ta ett stadshotell när ni ska äta.

Helt okey, men inte samma lugn som tidigare

Andra gången vi besökte TBR. Vi tycker dock att det har gått ner sig lite och tappat den mysiga stämningen som vi upplevde vid första besöket. De har byggt ut lite och då och bytt möblemanget till plast istället för trä.
Det som vi upplevde som mest störande var den bil- och mopedtrafik som skedde på stranden, detta då det numer finns ett grannhotell samt en restaurang på hörnet av stranden.
hotellet ligger avsides på stranden vilket också gör att priserna på mat och dryck ligger ganska mycket högre än längre ner på stranden där konkurrensen är större.
Frukostbuffé ingick för oss, vilken var bra. Personalen är artig och trevlig. De städar dagligen och håller rent på resortens område. Barnen uppskattar poolen som också är ren och fräsch.

Twin bay resort sijaitsee kivalla rannalla, n. 25 min kävelymatkan päässä Saladanista. Sijainti hieman huono ravintoloiden kannalta sillä se on aivan rannan päässä eikä ihan vieressä ole juuri ravintoloita. Hotellin oma ravintola ihan hyvä tasoinen, joskin melko hintava. Söimme siellä lähinnä lounaat. Illalla kävelimme joko Saladaniin tai rantaa pitkin lähistön ravintoloihin. Rannalla kävely onnistuu jopa lastenrattaita työntäen.
Olimme varanneet atandardi bungalowin mutta meille vaihdettiin sisäänkirjautuessa deluxe bungalow. Nuo deluxe bungalowit olivat kaikki vähän erinäköisiä ja meidän saama ei ehkä mielestäni ollut ihan deluxe tasoa. Huone oli toki ihan siisti mutta esimerkiksi terassille ei ollut kulkua suoraan huoneesta ja siitä oli näkymät parkkipaikalle (merikin kyllä näkyi). Lisäksi huone oli useassa tasossa mikä teki siitä hieman hankalan vauvan kanssa. Muut deluxe huoneet olivat ainakin ulkopuolelta katsottuna hieman järkevämmän oloisia.
Hotellin edustan ranta oli oikein kiva ja lapsille hyvin sopiva. Uima-allas oli heti rannan tuntumassa ja aurinkotuolinkin sai useimmiten.
