Starting off there were cockroaches at the room, the microwave and fridge were in a horrible state, the towels provided were dirty; the bedding smelled horribly. The room itself looked and smelled bad. Not even 5 minutes into the room there was a roach. Really uncomfortable to rest knowing everything is so dirty

Large infestation of German brown cockroaches and chose not to bring any of our items in due to the severity of infestation. When we spoke to management all they did was offer the switches to another annoying room these lived throughout all the buildings.

No security, no cameras, the sheets had cigarette burns, the water was cold, the Internet didn't work and neither the laundry, just for starters, the wife of the property owner goes through the trash, there's no telling what she's looking for, she was reading papers that I did see, very uncomfortable experience.

The check in wasn’t anything special. We uncovered the sheets in our room and there were cigarette burn holes in one of them. We found a Bic lighter under the bed and the door seal didn’t close all the way. Wouldn’t reccomend. Go somewhere else and spend a little bit more for a comfortable stay!

This was a convenient place to stay for us. Walking distance to Sierra Nevada Brewery which was our destination. It was fine. The floor, walls, ceiling are not straight.Like the whole place is maybe sinking or moving in some way. The staff was super nice. We slept well. It was quiet. Plenty of ice. If you want to spend time at the brewery and not drive and are not particular its okay. If they drop the rate a bit I'm sure they could get more traffic.

Room was notably large, but the area that was clearly intended to be a lounge/living space was not usable as such. TV was about as far from the beds as was possible. Hot water wasn't hooked up to the sink, bathroom was filthy and the overall cleanliness and conditions of the room were poor. Staff was helpful and responsive in the little I interacted with them, but I wouldn't go back unless I had no other option.

Beyond awful. Beds were painful to sleep in. Deads gnats in the fridge. Dead something or other in the corners of the bathroom. Ants on the ground. Burnt holes and crunchy bits in the blankets. Front office said it was open but no one came to the desk after several minutes. We were supposed to stay for 2 nights, I paid for a different hotel the second night and just took the hit financially because it was that bad. Wish I could give this place zero stars.

We asked for washcloths and received 2 dirty towels.
There were cigarette burns in both bedspreads and the sheets had not been cleaned/changed before our arrival. A staff member needed to come clean the wall where I found a liquid/gelatinous stain on the wall by the kitchen sink when I checked in.

The room smelled of smoke and mold! There were stains all over the bedspread and even on the some on the sheets!!! The entire place looked like it had been repaired over and over so some of the repair work was already peeling! The towels were light brown! I mean our close smelled bad after we got home! Horrible experience. I prepaid a couple of days before my stay. The room smelled bad as I opened the door. I started to walk around and look at everything. Parts of the flooring weren’t secure. The towel hanger and toilet paper hanger were ripped out of the wall. The white towels were stained gray. There was a cockroach crawling on the bathroom door. Pillowcases had stains. And there were drawings on the walls. I went to the front office and was told that nothing could be done by them since I made my reservation through Hotels.com. I contacted Hotels.com and they said they would contact the Inn. The representative came back and told me the Inn denied my refund. I spoke to the front desk again and was told they would not refund me. I gave him back the room key and told him I would not be staying in a filthy and unsanitary room.

Roaches, dirty gloor, dirty tub, broken tv, bed was not property put together, they were renevating till late and it was noisy, i called the front desk and to tell him about the roaches and he said i can c9me clean it for you and i informed him that just cleaning isnt gonna get rid of him and he was silent and didnt care.

Guests who booked online were given rooms behind the main motel, dirty floors, no carpet, bugs crawling around. At night, the flood lights over the 6 rooms were swarming with flying insects, a lot of them in our rooms if we went out at night. This room was by far was the worst room we have ever stayed in.

The mattrice had no fitted sheet and when we peeled the top sheet back to look for more bugs the mattrice itself was also disgusting. Was away from my room for one night and came back to a half drank Gatorade bottle, half a pack of crackers, and half eaten string cheese in the fridge, when I had nothing in the fridge previously. All of my toilet paper was taken and my bed was messed up when I made it before I left. Cleaning service didn’t show up until four days into my stay but I was already leaving and when I walked into my room to get my stuff, I almost threw up from the smell of the stuff in the trash can. Never saw a single employee the whole time I was there even when I rang the bell multiple times.

This property was nothing like the pictures online. The towels & pillowcases were dull grey to dark grey. I returned them to the manager and he had trouble picking through the supposedly clean laundry to find replacements that were acceptable. The first 2 he offered had what looked like blood he insisted it was nail polish. There were no amenities. We could not get the tv to work on 1st night. Next day I asked him how to operate it and he told me then we could at least watch it. I asked for an accessible room as I’m older and can’t get in and out of a tub room had a tub. I requested a king single and he said he didn’t have one available gave us 2 full beds so we had to sleep separate. No restaurants in walking distance.

NEVER STAY AT HAVEN INN IN CHICO, CA!

The worst experience of our life. There was a domestic violence issue in the room next to ours. On-site manager did absolutely nothing and stated "thats not my problem". Didn't change our room or attempt to call the police. Had to leave and drive home, over two hours, at 2am in the morning. UNACCEPTABLE!!!

The room was good for the price. Nice TV, had a microwave and good size fridge, but no phone to the front desk, WiFi and only ice maker didn't work. All fair compromise for the price, but didn't feel good about leaving anything in the room, as the door jam was basically missing and had to have a screw put in it so it would lock.

These people regularly said we didn’t pay through Expedia, yet we would show receipts, confirmations and even called Expedia to validate our payment. If this was a one time thing, I’d understand but it wasn’t. They say they have internet but they don’t. They must be lying and saying their home internet is for business when no one in the hotel got internet… not one person. I asked around.

When the original owner ran this place it was a great deal for your money, the new guy that is running this place does not allow cleaning staff to use good cleaning products like bleach, the towels in our room looked like someone cleaned the floor with them and place them back on the rack (badly stain) the pillow cases were so stained I asked for new ones. Over all the place is not been updated instead is been ran to the ground, I will never ever stay here is too bad as the place used to be decent.

Doesn't have strict rules about guests visiting and allows some acceptable noise levels to be overlooked (such as music & laughter...) Won't keep your deposit and kick you out for minor accusations and flexible with late check-out, if requested and necessary.

Quite possibly the dirtiest place I've ever stayed in. I booked two nights, but didn't even make to the second night before I packed up everything and left for a Holiday Inn instead which felt like a 5 star hotel after this.

Giant mosquitoes flying around everywhere. Cockroaches in the bathroom. Filthy bedsheets with stains and hair everywhere. Bathroom towels dirty. Refrigerator not even working. Hell, even the TV was busted.
Honestly, I can tolerate a lot except for the overall smell of the place. Like stepping into a NYC cab after the driver's done 3 double-shifts without showering.

NEVER AGAIN..

First of all, we paid $450+ for 2 nights that is usually (after researching nornal price) is only $70 a night, and it was the only motel/hotel available at the time. We stripped the bed of comforter and blanket due to staians and cigarette burns everywhere, and the towels couldn't dry you off due to being so old. Tv didn't work, so nothing to watch, also no wifi, double whammy.. Now as for the other "guest", all tweekers, guess they live there, drug deals all night, people playing loud music in cars while digging through their trunks separating trash, papers, and clothes. And saw a lady and ghy walking on sidewalk, and lady was yelling at her boyfriend to go check and see if any window were open, (whether it be room or car windows idk), so her walked by cars, and along all the rooms. The safest i felt was when tbe sheriff's car followed me in and ran my lic plate, then waved at me as they lulled out of parking lot. We'll never stay there again, and hopefully you won't either..

Not-Quite-a-Haven Inn

Functional yet dirty room. Maintenance not a priority. Motel advertised Free Wi-Fi but the was No Wi-Fi. There wasn’t even a network that was “down”: there was no network at all.

Clerk stayed behind a closed window, giving the feeling of cheap, shady accommodations. No lobby, no office, yet the place wasn’t located in a “bad” neighborhood. Strange.

The one other staff member I spoke with, a chambermaid, was pleasant and friendly.

If you need an internet connection, stay someplace else. They don’t tell you there is none until you have checked in and paid.

The hotel room was non smoking, smelled of smoke and had cigarette burns in blankets. Smoke detectors where deactivated and set off to the side on a shelf. Two of the lights where broken and fell apart at touch, and there was mold in the bathroom by some rotted wood. Booking rheough Hotels.com is a double edge sword, this place was a wreck and i checked back out immediately, but its my fault apparently and no refund was given by Hotels.com nor the hotel.

There was mold on the wall next to the bath tub. That was a bit concerning. I closed the door of the bathroom to avoid inhaling mold. I did not shower either out of fear. You may be thinking that this place is at the low end of the market, but it's probably okay. Well, you're wrong! This place is not okay. It's poorly maintained and dirty. My room did not have toilet paper or clean towels and the WiFi didn't work. There were cigarette burns in the blankets and stains on the mattresses. The furniture was literally falling apart and sharp staples and screws stuck out of various pieces of particle board. Save yourself a lot of aggravation and go somewhere else, even if it's in Oroville or another town rather than Chico. And whatever you do, don't give these people your money until you've inspected the rooms. They will not return your money even if the rooms are unsanitary and unfit for human habitation.

because this hotel is the cheapest one there is no upkeep going on. The sink faucet was broken(literally two pieces). Bedspread had multiple holes from burns. The microwave had someones coffee left in it. I will bag my clothes for two weeks in case of bed bugs or roaches. I did not see any roaches or bedbugs. The staff was very nice. They were there and helpful.

There was blood splatter on the roof and wall. The counter was broken and the shower curtain smelled foul and left an awful stench on your hands after touching it. The TV constantly was in demo mode so you could only see half the TV. There was hair all over the towels and blankets. I will never stay there again!!

What I really liked was that the staff were quick to help and were very friendly too. The price was reasonable. The room was surprisingly pleasant and modern. Only changes I would personally make would likely be the design of those bed blankets/covers, simply because they don't look great, but that's just personal taste. I enjoyed my stay!
