Checked in evening...they did not have my room. Turns out this hotel house homeless. I had to go down the street to another hotel. They even have tables and tent shade in parking lot to eat at sit at. This is not a place to stay will family...Avoid at all cost. They lied and said maintenance problem so no room left. New hotel told me the truth, the contract out all their rooms for homeless. AVOID

We are from out of town, visiting our college daughter. When I booked this hotel, I thought it was probably comparible to a similar value motel--which was completely fine, pretty good even! Boy I was wrong. Our Room was absolutely filthy, the mirrors were smudged with makeup, and spit. The backroom floors had crumbs and dirt and there was old matches that had been lit sticking out of the side of the mirror. The bed was lopsided, and felt like sleeping on a foam pad over a piece of wood. Everything smelled like smoke even though it was a non smoking room, and there were no towels= we had to go downstairs and ask for towels. Awful, would never stay here again. Sketchy people all around, hanging out in the parking lot, and one woman was hanging out on the stair case to our room, so we had to ask her to move everytime to please move her radio, art supplies, and all her things everytime we passed. I'm surprised they don't charge by the hour.

The staff was amazing, helpful and great communication. Both desk people were awesome, they made requests very easy. The rooms could have been cleaner, but the housekeeping staff were wonderful. They definitely made the trip better. It was a very busy weekend in Chico for the family weekend so they were completely booked. Great restaurants and coffee shop in walking distance. Walking to downtown Chico was easy and comfortable.

I had no towels in my room when I got their, ask for them to be there when I came back very late (11 pm) and still no towels. Went to the office and ask for towels, waited a long time and then found him in the laundry room and he was still looking for a proper bath towel, I said just give me something now!

Also, no hand soft in the bathroom, a plastic cup to make very bac coffee, not even a proper cup. Very old hotel, I would not recommend it to anyone.

The only thing good I can say about the place was the young man that checked us in. He was extremely friendly and helpful. As for the room, it was dirty. The shower curtain was all dirty and stained. There were no towels. The refrigerator didnt work and there was old food in it. In one of the drawers there was a big dirty stain and used straws. In the closet, the extra blanket was literally just thrown on shelf not folded and there were cigarettes on the floor. The floorl didnt look vaccumed or moped in bathroom. Lastly, the walls were dusty and dirty all along bottom.

Some of the clientele was very questionable. The employees were all very nice and even had to intervine with questionable tenants.
The location was great for my needs. Next time I'll try the place across the street or around the corner.
The door jambs on some of the rooms look like the door had been kicked in, door was fine, but the jamb leaves a question of what happened.

I had to move rooms because the original room I had smelled like cigarette smoked so badly that it was unbearable. I reserved a non-smoking room and was put into another room which also smelled but not as bad. Once in the shower I realize there was no shampoo or soap so I had to stop and go to the office to get both. I was given two little packets of shampoo and two little pieces of soap. The breakfast is not really breakfast.

The people were extremely nice. But I arrived a little early and they gave me a room which apparently didn’t log it. So at 5 AM there were two people trying to get into my room thank god I had the extra lock in place. Then the shower didn’t work and when I notified them they went in to fix it. So my second morning it still didn’t work.

I find the pictures to be very misleading. The room smelled like cigarettes and Indian food, and the comforters have stains on them. There were no towels in the bathroom, and the room was so tiny. You could barely fit two people in it. Is right next to the road and has almost no shade, so once again amazing work by the photographer. There are no chairs or a simple table in the room.

Worst place I’ve ever stayed.

We stayed her for graduation. One room still had urine marks around the toilet. Black hairs all over the bathroom floor and in the towels. Four person occupancy and was given one bath towel, one hand towel, and one wash cloth. The beds did not have a mattress pad and the sheets were so thin you could feel the mattress material. They didn’t even put the toilet paper rolls on the holder.

I used 1 towel and one wash cloth that I got hair color on and they are claiming all towels were ruined and charging me $57.00 for for the damage. It is a horrible neighborhood. This property is located in a sketchy neighborhood. The parking lot is extremely small. The room was extremely dated and in need of multiple repairs. There were cigarette holes in the comforter on the bed. I witnessed a man make multiple drug sales in the parking lot throughout the night. I would not recommend this property.

This was the worst hotel room I've ever stayed in. There were cigarette burns (holes) in the bedspread and burns in sink and on vanity. The walls were dirty (dirty fingerprints). The bathroom was especially disgusting. Squeaky bed coils. Ugghhh. There was nothing in the shampoo/conditioner in the dispenser, no tissues in the box dispenser (Only white fabric that was stuffed in the dispenser). Could not get out of the room fast enough.

When we arrived the manager at the time, indicated that \"we do not have a key for your room\".. maybe tomorrow. I told him that we were going out to eat, do I just bother you everytime I leave the room. \"Yes\". Said the key might be ready tomorrow ( I knew that wasn't going to happen. Website says stay includeds breakfast. No it did not, just bad coffee.

Room bathroom was gross. No showerhead, no plug for the bathtub, footprints in the tub. Toilet was disgusting, had not been cleaned in I do not know how long. TV did not work, said the maintenance would be there tomorrow to fix (see above on repairs and keys).

Do not recommend.

Good location, very cold AC, probably the dirtiest motel room I've ever been in. There was a maxi pad on the floor next to the toilet. The floors were covered in dirt, grime, hair, and stains from who knows what. Fridge and microwave worked. The room smelled like mold after a shower, and no soap or shampoo were provided. The young man at the desk was very nice and quickly moved me to to another room when I asked. The second room, although having more light, was really shabby. The bedspread (it was a no smoking room) had burn holes and you could feel the springs through the mattress. I was hoping I could attach photos to show you the bathroom! Cracked tile, ugly yellow stains all around the sink and toilet and the tub/shower had awful stains too. It was graduation weekend so I expected the price to reflect that, but $250 a night for a dump like this is outrageous.I do want to give kudos to the two staff members I dealt with- they were friendly and very helpful.

This is an older motel in downtown Chico, so the decor is a little dated and the rooms are showing their age. I’d say this is an OK place, given the price, location and free parking. I had noisy neighbors (until 2 am) above me, but that was just bad luck. Didn’t hear or see other problems with guests. Check-in ws fast and easy; guy behind the desk was very nice.

Overall this hotel is atrocious and no one should stay there, ever. But even the worst hotel (and this is) have a few things going for them, so here they are:

1) location - it is in downtown Chico within walking distance of the university
2) the sheets were clean and the mattress was comfortable
3) the parking lot was brightly lit
4) the front desk clerk was friendly and helpful

Do not in any way let those 4 things lead you to believe that this hotel is ok, because isn't. This hotel is DIRTY and DISGUSTING.

There was dirty laundry in the closet, a clearly used-for-s*x towel behind the door, the floors were too dirty to walk on, and the real kicker is that the shower and tub were completely unusable. By unusable I mean there was a hole in the wall in place of the contraption that would send water out of the shower head, and there was no plug to use it as a tub.

I asked to use an iron, which they gave me, but it was filthy. The ironing board was broken. The cabinet doors were broken. The sink was stained. The mirrors were dirty.

I stayed at this hotel out of sheer desperation because my original reservation was lost (either by the hotel or hotels.com, not sure which) and every other hotel near the college was sold out due to\"family weekend\". I was there to visit my daughter so location was my #1 priority.

This hotel is gross. Trust me.

BTW - I have spent 30-50 nights a year in hotels every year for 20+ years and have never left a bad review.

Justin checked us in. He was very accommodating and friendly. He informed us on the motel’s policy’s. I would re-book, possibly. The one concern I have; is the attitude of 2 other employees…(both male) one loud man (who works in the mornings) He tells people rudely that they need to leave and sort of harasses just a little much… especially when I have spent so much money with this location. I thought it was a one day thing; like maybe he woke up on the wrong side of the bed, but no. It is becoming repetitive now. And, one quiet guy (who works mix shifts)… who loves to be involved in the drama that occurs at this motel. I had him inform my guy friend on what I was doing and who I was speaking with in the parking lot. In my opinion, that’s invading my personal space/business and causing issues for me, while totally breaking the rules of his job description. Plus, he slacks off and tried to pursuade us not to book on hotels.com; but on America’s best value in Website… stating that they allegedly “match prices.”

While I was checking in another employee/manager/owner was talking on the phone loudly the entire time. We were in Chico, CA for our grandsons’ graduations. One was in the morning and the other was in the evening. When I pulled back the bedding to take a nap I notice the sheets were dirty, and in some places it looked like dried blood. I took pictures and immediately went to the front desk. The clerk’s response was that she could change the sheets - no apology. Nor did she seemed shocked. I ask to view other room options. We looked at two: one smelled of smoke even though it was supposedly non-smoking, and the 2nd room had noticeable cigarette burns on the furniture. The third room she showed me was acceptable, but later I notice it did not have any towels. Expedia should remove this property from their listing. Economical is one thing, but this place was not clean. We did not sleep well the entire night.
