I made the mistake of reserving a room here for a trip I was taking with a buddy. We needed a reasonably priced room in Oxnard for one night. I reserved a room with two queen beds. When I arrived I was told that they had no rooms with two queen beds and that they only had King size beds. The first question the manager asked me was \"do you want the room for the whole night?\" I knew this was a bad place, the area is not good around the hotel. It looked like it was a drugs and hookers kind of hotel. I asked for a refund and they said that Hotels.com charged my card and to go to them. I contacted Hotels.com and they confirmed Palace Inn charged my card. Never go here.

The hotel is in a rough part of town and of course someone was knocking on a door loudly at 1:30AM. This type of hotel has its place but if you are traveling to Oxnard for the national park stay somewhere safer and nicer.

Overall, it offered everything I was looking for at a reasonable price- full kitchen with full size fridge and cook top stove w/oven, microwave and sink. The AC worked well and it was an 8min walk from the conference I was attending. The hotel does ask for a $50 cash deposit on top of your lodging fee.
As far as cleanliness in the room, it could have been cleaner, but the bed was comfortable and water was hot, so I can overlook that. I'd deffintely reccommend The Palace Inn Oxnard if you're traveling on a budget and saving money on dining in.

this place was absolutely terrible and not as advertised. the room smelled like cigarettes, the parking lot was filled with sketchy activity, and many of the residents in the rooms seemed to have been living there for weeks. there was junk and garbage from the street everywhere in the parking lot. the staff was extremely unpleasant and when i brought up how uncomfortable and unsatisfied i felt with the room, they said “well you only paid x amount, what do you expect.” it was inhumane and i ended up not staying in the room. when asked if i could receive a least a portion of what i paid back, since all i did was check in and informed staff i wouldn’t be staying in the room, they completely refused. this place needs to be shut down and condemned.

I didn't stay there because I didn't feel safe. I pulled into the parking lot and watched a vagrant pushing a shopping cart by the rooms would stop and stare into them for long periods of time. There was a bike heap of bicycles and the place looked like a junk yard. Lots of sketchy people loitering. I was on a motorcycle and did not feel like I could properly secure it.

Smoking inside apparently is common there as I saw people walking in and out of rooms with lit cigarettes. Contacted Expedia for a refund because my children have asthma. Requested a refund from the owners. The owners state they need Expedia to call them so they can allow the refund, however the owner hangs up every time an agent attempts contact. The owner demanded a cash deposit and stated I don’t get the deposit back if I get more than 2 warnings? This place was super seedy. They advertise a pool and a bar. There was neither pool nor bar, just a bunch of homeless people smoking cigarettes and taking residence with government vouchers. Stay far far away.

The property needs some major updating of fixtures. The floors were not clean and the bedsheets had stains. The doorframe in the bathroom had water damage, the fridge had rust on the metal hinges. The staff came through wnen the toilet would not fill its tank after flushing by replacing the part that needed to be removed even though it was 9PM.

The Palace Inn was adequate
It was not a terrible place to stay, It was very quiet there. The room was older but adequate. I did think the room could have been a little cleaner. The couple that managed the place seemed to be nice. The area around the hotel seemed a bit \"shady\", with a strip club next door, but in all fairness, there wasn't any noise, nor did anyone mess with our vehicle.
