This was a horrible experience the front door barley closed it had been broken into and patched back with a major gap, it had no safety lock, the currents were clear shower currents and bright lights from outside shined in all night and had no privacy. The faucet dripped all night. We asked for another room and were denied only sent a maintenance man that did nothing. I’m requesting a full refund or will protest this charge

I didn't expect much given the low price of the room. I just asked for a bed I could sleep more or less comfortably in, a functional bathroom, a place to put my laptop. I was pleased to note that it had a microwave & a fridge though we didn't use either so I dunno how they work. There was a TV we didn't use so I can't rate that. The bed was surprisingly comfortable--no complaint there. The toilet worked albeit a short nose design--guys know what I mean. The heater worked. No problems there. I don't know whether the AC also worked, but I bet it did. The pool was empty, being worked on. They should have noted that. I couldn't get the wifi going but your cellphone's hotspot feature works better anywhere there's decent reception, and it did. So no problem there either.

But the shower's cold water faucet didn't work, and the hot water faucet was too hot to use by itself, and by the time we discovered this we had to get to a meeting so no shower.

Budget accommodations or not a non-working shower is not acceptable. I don't know what the management would have done if we had planned to stay more than one night, but I shouldn't have had to ask for a working shower in the first place.

And while it's a nit, they only gave us about half of one roll of toilet paper. My wife sometimes has bouts of diarrhea due to the meds she's taking so it could have been a problem. Luckily it wasn't, but still...

So the lesson is, makes sure the bathroom works fully before you unpack.

The sink water took hours to empty & wasn't empty of water 6 hours later.

I had read interviews about roaches but that was after I made the booking and it was too late to change.

Around 2:00 a.m. after being in bed for 5 minutes I got up and sore a roach and then a second roach so I just packed up all my things and went and slept in my car because I can't afford to have roaches coming home with me.

Upon arrival, there was a sign that said “back in 30 minutes.” They didn’t return until an hour later. The toilet kept running so I asked to change rooms. the TV in the substituted room didn’t work. Reception said they would replace the tv with a new one while I was out at dinner. Got back an hour later and no new tv. Around 9 o’clock Reception showed up with new tv, which worked. Room was old and bare bones, but reasonably clean. I don’t expect much for $70 a night, but the experience was disappointing.

I had hoped for better, but it really is just ok. Good for a cheap deal, but no amenities. My TV didn’t work, unable to connect to WiFi, and the cold water knob in the shower was broken so it was tricky showering and not getting too hot. The place could be so cute if they just fixed up the bathrooms and replaced the molding in the rooms.

While I appreciate the fact that Travelers Inn is primely located in Ventura, I felt that all the amenities were lacking. The pillows on the bed were small and flat, the sheets were stiff and starchy, and there was no comforter on the bed, only a blanket that did not seem very clean. All the walls were stained or had dirt on them, you couldn’t keep the window open in the bathroom, and we were not provided any soap. We had troubles getting the door of the room to sit properly in the doorframe, and couldn’t get the deadbolt to engage properly from the outside. There was an AC unit which was nice but it was very weak and needed to run for quite sometime before cooling the room down at at all. When going to the bathroom at night we also noticed cockroaches running around in the bathroom. Overall, if it’s just a place to sleep it is alright, but if you were planning on spending any time within your room beyond that it would be pretty lacking.

The only positive comment was that they let me check in early after a long drive. The pictures looked like nothing on the website. The pool was drained and non operational even know they claim to have one and nowhere does it say closed. The building looked run down. The door had a gap. Killed 5 bugs while in the room. Only one light worked. The light on the dresser was missing a bulb. The dresser was broken. Fridge and microwave was dirty. The bathroom was horrendous, dirty, tile cracked, missing and I didn’t even dare to try the shower. The bed was hard and squeaked every time you moved. Very dirty and one lady was extremely rude there. I could hear others trying to talk to her about room conditions and she didn’t seem to care. One of the maids asked me if I wanted to extend my stay as I was checking out. I told them I would never stay here again or even recommend it. Honestly I don’t even know how this establishment is in business and the pictures verse what this place is not even remotely close to what they advertise.

Roaches. ROACHES! DOZENS OF ROACHES! The fridge froze all my food, and when i turned it slightly down it flooded the counter. The walls were literally dripping off paint and wallpaper. Mold. No security locks. Do Not Disturb is not honored, had a maid try to come in my room without permission. Literal roaches crawled on me in bed. Slept with my own blanket and pillows on TOP of the bed due to the definite signs of prior bedbugs. Though luckily I didnt get them.

The lady at the front desk was wonderful. The building is old and outdated. The ac didn’t work, the bed sheets and covers were dirty and the wooden floor was cracked and missing planks. The planks were short and lifting. $30 more for the 6 would have been worth it. But strange thing is I went out in the morning and there were Lexus and Porches parked and they were staying there also.

I stayed 4 nights. Parking was a breeze and close walking location to Ventura Pier (ocean) was nice.
Motel is more meager than what I am used to. The property is older, shower is small, and there's no soundproofing between the walls.
However, for a basic place to stay that's cheaper than alternatives, it met my needs. Would stay again.

I would avoid this hotel if you can. The room does not have a deadbolt, the curtains don’t cover the entire window, the AC runs so infrequently that we were hot all night, and there was dirt in the bathroom sink when we arrived. There is a reason this is the cheapest place in town!

The check in service was rude. The room was dirty and in need of repairs. The television seemed like it was about to fall off the wall. The bathroom door wouldn’t close without jamming. The comforters had what appeared to be burn holes in this supposedly non smoking room. The room also smelled like a casino. This is not including the domestic disturbance outside the front door or the crack head in the alley outside the bathroom window. The front window screen was broken as well as the bathroom window screen. There was no light in the closet. The tub overflow plate/ drain was missing. We bought sleeping bags to sleep on because my family did not feel comfortable sleeping on the bedding. We had no other options for our stay as we had already paid for the room without seeing it first. The pictures were not accurate. We actually left a night early because of how bad it was.

The lady at the front counter is the most horrible person she is so rude she tried to yell at my husband and me , I understand it’s not the best place but for her to be rude and disrespectful is not ever okay . I will never give this place a chance. I don’t recommend anyone to stay here at all. She got more upset when we ask if we can get a different room because the first one she gave us had a big gap on the door and it smelled a lot like cigarettes and the bed sheets where dirty as well and the bed it had all kinds of stains on it . The lady at check out does have a chip on her shoulder. She did give me a room that had a working tv due to the one I was assigned not working. The room was very old and tattered offering the bare minimum. I didn’t spend very much time in the room due to it being depressing. Went out and explored what Ventura had to offer on a Monday, came back and slept for the night, on top of my sleeping bag. Heard the bed bugs were bad. If you want a budget place to sleep near downtown it could be good. But if you’re planning on a place to decompress, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.

We left immediately after seeing a used bandaid stuck on the comforter. Tried to talk to manager who denied that the room was unclean and hazardous. I used Expedia One Key Cash points and was still charged the full amount for the room. Tried to contact the hotel and was yelled at and hung up on twice. Now I’m trying to dispute charges with my bank.

In my room the bed was made up with clean sheets but once I sat on the mattress I could feel the springs. the bathroom had a leaking ceiling in front of the toilet. the refrig was not plug in neither the microwave. the tv I had to use the tv settings not the remote. But the lady was nice she should sale it, she and I talked and she has lost her husband and she is alone with this property did get the ADA room the chair was unsafe to sit on but I like the shower

At check in, the older woman was looking at my license saying it was not me. Then she says she has to charge me more than originally told. My children and I were very tired, just wanted to hurry and get the room key. Room 115. Couldn’t find it. Finally found it next to a mechanical closet and tossed out sitting chair. Once inside, we noticed the door only had a bottom lock where I just opened with my key. There was no safety latches. No deadbolt. We did not feel safe. The TV was broken. The windows were barred. My husband decided to talk to the older lady to see if there was another room. The older lady said no one has complained about not having a deadbolt and safety latches. She degraded my husband by saying if you don’t understand, the housekeeper speaks Spanish. My husband expressed we do not feel safe, The older lady said you can find someplace else and I’ll offer refund. So we left the room with our belongings, went to get our refund. The old lady denied ever offering a refund. Then proceeded to charge me for the second night, even though it was a separate booking. At check in, she said I would have to come back tomorrow and register the second separate booking, but proceeded to charge me, even though we are leaving. She said that we can take it up with our bank. I would never recommend this place to anyone.Very sheisty, degrading, untrusting of people and very aggressive old lady. We ended up staying at Best Western Ventura Pier. Would highly recommend them.

Clean comfortable bed, hot shower, microwave, cold mini fridge, coffee maker, working TV with DirecTV. Good locks and blackout curtains. Nice reception lady. It was quiet on a Saturday night. Safe area. The parking lot does fill up later, if you leave you'll lose your spot so just walk or taxi to downtown, it's a 10 minute walk. Also walkable to Ventura pier/beach. The Kwikimart store across the street is very convenient but overpriced fyi. Good close casual dining options for fish tacos and Mexican food literally a block away: Spencer MaKenzie's Fish Co. and my personal fave, Corrales #1. It was a good stay! :)
