This place really is great. It’s right on the beach, there’s so many restaurants in walking distance, they have this amazing shuttle that will drop you off downtown and pick you up and my kids loved it. We live in the same county, but we always have staycations here because we love the place so much. Perfect for families.

In their effort to look new and modern, they made the bathroom “RV” size. The bed was absolutely delightful, very chic looking. The staff were exceptionally kind and professional. Shoutout to the valets, first time valet parking our new EV. They knew just what to do!

The property's a bit dated, but that fits with the low-key area. Ocean View from room was SPECTACULAR. However, the room was also right above where a live band performed until 10pm at night. And then again from noon to 4pm the next day. Given that we were there for a well-established local marathon and needed to get up at 3am, this was not ideal. Though we were offered ear plugs at check-in. There is no central AC and the in-room air conditioner barely cools, especially in the afternoon/evening as the room faces the setting sun. We would have cracked open the door, if not for the concert outside. In the morning, we discovered a used condom wrapper under the bed. We reported it to the front desk manager, who allegedly informed the housekeeping manager. A few hours later, we returned to the room to find housekeeping had been inside (made bed, towels replenished, etc) but the condom wrapper was STILL THERE. This was both disappointing and gross. Bottom line: The best thing about this property is the location -- the beach is right outside and downtown Ventura and a lot of restaurants just a short walk away. There is a train station nearby, but the whistles were not frequent nor loud enough to be intrusive, just noticed... unlike the band. Hotel is pet-friendly, which is another plus. And the staff is super-friendly, if not exactly responsive to issues. Live bands outside ocean view rooms they upcharge for is eyebrow raising. And can't imagine staying in the heat of summer.

The location is the best part of this hotel. Can’t complain much when every room has an ocean view and you can walk out the doors to paradise. The rooms are small with a funky layout. The bathroom door was a translucent slider that opened towards the beds. If one person used the bathroom, unfortunately, everyone in the room used the bathroom. Despite that, we would stay here again just for location and convenience alone.

The suite with a Beach view from the 2nd floor wasnt what i was expecting. The food was good the service was horrible at the restaurant as well as the room service.
I dont know what happened in the restaurant but it felt like they just forgot to take anyones order (about 45 mins ) then it took another 30 mins to get our food . Room service wasnt any better ! The turkey sandwich looked like it had black mold on the bread .

The bar in the lobby area was great ! Great service and a decent old fashioned .

Oh yea keep an eye on your charges to your card ! Someone from the hotel tried to charge me 4500$ at 3am !! Luckily my bank declined the charge and sent me an email

Everything about this hotel was exactly what we were looking for. It was clean, updated, comfortable and pleasant. Our view of the ocean was spectacular with a beautiful sunset and sunrise view. The staff was very professional and accommodating. Room service was also amazing. I would definitely recommend this place to others and look forward to going back.

It is an old building and not attractive. One elevator was broken so it took a very long time for an elevator. There were very few carts for luggage. It was in a great location right on the boardwalk to beach. It was also just a few blocks from the shops and restaurants downtown.We had a beautiful view. The cost for valet parking was $75 per night.

I really enjoyed my stay here! Great staff very nice hotel. Stroll right slongthe ocean in front.
Friendly people in and put. Fairly easy walk to the old downtown mission and the Amtrak train station. Funny I read people complaining about train noise at the hotel but that is only during the day I think it stops at 9:00 at night.
Staying here makes you really feel like you're on vacation - not just a business or other kind of trip! I will return!

Too noisy and there was a broken elevator which made for long waits going up to the rooms. I booked a room and paid for it on Expedia which cost $35 more than my uncle’s room which he booked right at check in. Seems like buying from Expedia costs more. Not sure if I will ever use this app again.

It right on the beach, but parking is questionable at the very least. If you are not using valet, your self parking in a shady garage.
The hotel itself was just ok, and right next to train tracks with trains passing quite frequently.
I wanted to like the place more, but it’s average. It does the job if you’re only using the place to sleep. Staff is great though. Everyone was very friendly.

We were greeted with an ‘Out of Order’ sign on one elevator. Gave us the top floor (11) room so we waited often for elevator. Also put us on the bad plumbing side of building with bad or no water pressure and water temps running hot and cold while showering, with water just
stopping in shower. Very bad.

The hotel itself was fine, but I was disappointed because I paid extra for an ocean-view room and the view was completely obstructed by scaffolding. The hotel offered drink tickets to the bar as compensation, but this wasn’t very helpful since we were traveling with our kids. My husband ended up going to the bar and bringing cocktails back to the room. I would have preferred a partial refund.

The room was very nice. Two issues:
1. The hotel is currently undergoing an earthquake retrofit and has scaffolding up all the way to the 12th floor on both sides - Just a visual thing.
2. The hot water takes about 5 minutes to get up to temperature. Not sure if this was a temporary thing, but for what I paid for the room, please fix.

Both sides of the hotel were covered top to bottom with scaffolding. I did receive a email that there was construction going on, but I did not realize that it encapsulated the entire building. When we entered, someone was basically being chased out of the building she was muttering to herself and shouting. It was a little creepy. She wasn’t a guest of the hotel. She just kind of snuck in and the staff did their best to get her out.

The inside was nice, and we were greeted with a really delicious ginger apple sparkling mocktail. The room itself was OK. The bed was super comfortable, but they have a frosted glass barn door on the bathroom so anytime you walk in there the motion sensing lights would go on and illuminate the entire room. So a midnight trip to the bathroom lights up the entire room. I didn’t see a way of turning off the motion sensor. The remote control for the TV hardly worked, and the guide listed shows that were not actually playing, even though we were in the right time slot. Also, the movie choice was lacking and they were each $25, which seemed really high. I guess this place used to be a Holiday Inn, and it shows.

I probably would not come back unless they had a really good deal and I simply needed a place to stay. The staff was really nice though, and we ate at the Moofish Café in the morning, and the food was delicious.

Our room was clean and we did get to check in early however that was not the issue. We booked through Expedia and no where on that site did it state construction was going on. We found out when we got there. Booked an ocean view which was not cheap and we had nothing but scaffolding in front of our balcony which made the view even worse as we were towards the back of the building overlooking a parking garage. I would also like to state that the photos shown on the website looked a lot nicer than the hotel appeared. When we tried to eat at Aqua Beachfront Bar we sat down and waited almost 15mins before we ended up leaving and going somewhere else off property because no one waited on us or even acknowledged we were there even though others were eating around us. Overall we feel like we were misled in activities and view from our room. We do not plan to return and hope that you update your website and make sure your third party booking sites let others know that construction is happening.
