Founded in 1962 in Santa Barbara, California, the hotel chain is synonymous with great travel value. The first hotel in Santa Barbara still carries the torch today, but a lot has changed for the motel chain that pioneered the first real economy motel designed for the no-frills traveller.

The night time staff was very friendly and the day time morning crew needs to go over to McDonald’s and get a cup of coffee to improve their mood . The bath shower was dirty with somebody else’s hair the air conditioner was not working properly. Over all it’s a typical motel 6 good price just lousy morning staff

I had a very disappointing experience at Motel 6 Ventura Beach. The AC in my room was not working, so I went to the front desk to request a room change. Unfortunately, the receptionist closed the office door in front of me without responding and put up a “shift change” sign while I was standing there.
I waited for about 20 minutes, and when he finally opened the door, he spoke very rudely and was not helpful at all. There was no apology, no professionalism, and no concern for the inconvenience caused.
Overall, this was one of the worst stays I have experienced. Basic hospitality and respectful communication were completely lacking. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves customer service for future guests.

The room was very clean. My puppy spilt his water. I cleaned it up with a white towel and the towel was still white. Bed was comfortable, water pressure was great. Programming on tv is very limited but I didn’t mind. Staff was wonderful. I stayed 2 nights. McDonald’s is right next door Wienerschnitzel across the street. Short walk to the beach.

Parking lot shared with homeless encampment. Bright flood lights stay on all night, making your room bright even with the curtain closed. Holes in sheets. Clean floors, but it’s as basic as it gets, NOT family friendly.

I was sexually harassed by workers that were guests. They sat outside of their rooms drinking and drunk until well over 130am. Then again waking every one up at 5am to leave for work. Manager was of no help and basically didn’t care. Shower is nasty and chipped all over. The rooms smells old and dirty. Stain on bed sheets, toilet would not flush right, floors were not mopped. Homeless pulling carts in front of rooms all night. No one cleans up the dog feces. I recommend to stay elsewhere

For the length of time and the price I paid , the room could have been cleaned mmore than 1 time. Had to call to get more towels and toilet paper since they did not clean my room when requested. Took 5 phone calls and 2 days later that it finally got cleaned. The people upstairs were loud and had a large dog. I asked to be moved and they said the people would be checking out so then everything should be more quiet. For the price there should have been at least coffee in the room. I was very unhappy with my overall stay.

Staff was Superior. Unfortunately the room was next to a transitional living part of the property and was noisy all night. There was guest property all along the backside of the Motel and it looked very trashy. A lot of belongings in front of the rooms and people outside all nite talking. The heater in the room didn’t work and it was very cold. I did come late and the desk said she only had a few rooms left.

Both stays I have had at this location have been not the best. Firstly, I’d like the the hotel staff accommodating me and allowing me to check in early after coming off working a night shift rather have me wait until normal check in time. Rooms were decent, nothing fancy. Good luck trying to get some sleep during the day because the constant foot traffic and the echo of voices will either wake you up or keep you up. Both times I was only able to be accommodated in a room near the portion of the hotel which is used to permanently or temporarily house those who are in rehab and/or homeless. I communicated to the front desk about some mold in the shower, a need to refinish the surface due to scuffing, dark areas and cigarette burns (I didn’t use the shower as a result). The curtains needed a little cleaning and although I couldn’t see the mattress, I could smell it needed changing. I think the air filters also needed changing as with the AC on, there was a mildewy smell upon entering. I understand the property has been going under renovations.

The check in staff were pleasant, however that where the pleasantness's ended. There was mold in the empty ice bucket. The AC/Heater unit smelled of roach feces. The shower was filthy, no shampoo or conditioner. Legitimate concern of getting legionnaire disease. The door latch didn’t close all the way and we had to put a chair against the door for security. There was sand in the bed. The only place that smelled like it had been cleaned was the check in office. I’ve never had such a terrible experience at a motel. I wasn’t expecting luxury for the price point, but this was unacceptable.
